Stopped in mid- morning on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. There was a pretty good crowd inside and a very large party in the side dining room. I was made aware of the breakfast buffet they over on weekends. Checked it out and decided to have a go of it. It featured, scrambled eggs, their country omelette ( very good) two styles of breakfast potatoes home fries and hash browns, sausage links (were yummy), bacon, scrapple, biscuits, sausage gravy, creamed chopped beef, pancakes, French toast and fresh fruit salad. Waitress also mentioned that if I wanted toast or eggs cooked differently to let her know. My breakfast companion had the country omelette off the menu based on what it looked like on the Buffet. It was very tasty with chopped bacon sausage, ham, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and cheese. She truly enjoyed it! Food on buffet table were all very hot and very often refilled. I enjoyed the country omelette scramble and the sausage links the most. The sausage gravy was tasty as well. Fruit was fresh and was very tasty as well. I was hungry so this was very satisfying I also had some French toast along with the sampler plate shown. Very good coffee which I had served over ice! One thing - do not order water! It was so foul tasting - not the fault of the establishment. Will hit up again when visiting the Farmers Market downtown. read more

Takeout has always been accurate and well packaged. I am shocked this place isn't mobbed all the time. Frankly, I've only recently been visiting here lately while My sister's been in a local hospital so I may be coming at off hours. And there is something here you don't see all that often - a diner in Delaware with a full bar. Pretty awful service. Our waitress dropped off our food and never came back. We sat around for about 30 minutes and she never came back. The menu isn't bad, and the fishbus fresh. The ambiance is 50's wood paneling. Wait staff is adequate. They have a bar, so I asked for a scotch on the rocks. Our service was excellent and the staff help each other so customers get plenty of attention. The food was plentiful but quality was below average for diner fare. Mashed potatoes, stuffing and Turkey gravy were tasteless and the tomatoes in my Greek salad were overripe. Turkey itself was good and well cooked. The shepherds pie was " blah". . This place was okay. Wasn't bad but wasn't anything to rave about aside from their reasonable prices. My husband and I ate there for $26 and we ordered the shrimp basket as an appetizer, I had the Greek salad with chicken and he had the breakfast burrito with sausage and shredded home fries. Everything tasted good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive as were the rest of the staff we interacted with. If you're hungry and are in the area looking for decent portions at a reasonable price, this place will do you good. The interior however is what made me give it a 3 out of 5. It's dated and a bit grungy. They definitely need to put some money into renovations and nothing crazy, just maybe take out the old carpet and update the bathrooms. They do have a full bar as well which isn't something you see every day at a family diner. It was different. They also have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays for $8.99 which might be pretty good. I heard a waitress telling another customer that if they wanted to try the buffet to come between 8am - 10am as it gets pretty crowded after that. I'm not sure how late the buffet runs until though. All in all the food and service was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. My husband and I happened to be in the area and decided to give it a try. I'm happy we stopped here, and my son declared his lunch to be "the best meatball everrrrrrr"! I had the shrimp salad sandwich - simple and basic and just the way I like it. 10 out of 10. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs and gobbled it up. 10/10 My Mom had the BLT and said it was just right. Not fancy, no frills, just good simple food like it should be at a diner. Food was terrible and I have been to some diners and this one is not good. Cheese for the fries was awful it's definitely canned cheese. The chicken tenders were cold still. Pancakes were decent compared to rest of the meal. Service was okay server was friendly-ish but didn't check in us much. Paid $50 for not that much of food. Ordered online at 5:05 called at 6:30 and told the driver is on the way. No food until 6:55 their food ok but don't offer delivery if it takes 2 hours from the time you order and your food is cold and you forget parts of the order although they did eventually bring it. It's not even season when you could blame it on traffic. We're 10 minutes from the restaurant. NEVER AGAIN. I'll support local restaurants that can handle delivery in a timely manner. read more

What a disappointment. We were on our way out of town after a week long vacation and wanted to fill our belly's before we hit the road. All of the breakfast joints in town were packed with people having the same idea we did. We went off the grid just a bit to hit up a local joint, Lewes Diner. The place was empty, which in hindsight was more of a red flag than relief. The only reason i did not give this place a single star is because it totally had the small town southern charm customer service you want in a dive diner. As nice as everyone was though, they had no idea how to actually work at a diner. We got no silverware, food took forever, our simple orders were prepared wrong, bathrooms were disgusting, coffee tasted like cleaner, the food was bland and it was all way over priced! We were looking for a place to eat en route to the ferry. This place fit the bill. Reviews were good overall so we decided to give it a try. As other yelpers have stated, the decor is nothing special - but who cares? The menu was packed with choices and our food was very good, plentiful and very reasonably priced. I had a fried fish sandwich which was huge - I could only manage eating a portion of it. It was crispy, fresh and tasty. My husband had the meatloaf (after reading a review) and wasn't disappointed. The kids ordered a medium sized pizza which came out large but they still charged us for a medium. There was a ton of cheese on the pizza which my son enjoyed stretching. Everything was good. Really glad we stopped here instead of eating at the ferry cafe. Will definitely be back next time we take the ferry. read more

Stopped to have lunch here and after ordering I took a good look at the place. Dead flies on the window ledge and food all over the carpet. Place was not clean at all. My turkey club was horrible and the turkey was grey and room temp. NOT a good sign. It was a HARD pass on this. I wasn't asked why I didn't eat it. Hummmm.... Must mean something...
