The Kosher breakfast was delicious and the Not So Kosher breakfast was also delicious. Nonna's Cure was a new item which was a must have and I will be ordering when I return. It appears to be reasonably newly remodeled, but the air conditioning was nonexistent. Sweating in my seat was not comfortable. The server seemed to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. It took a extended period of time for her to return just to place our initial order setting that aside we figured we are good to go 45 minutes later we finally got our two eggs over easy with sides couldn't be much more simple than that 45 minutes. Wait was insane. They were not busy either. So to the most important part of the food we waited 45 mns for. 2 eggs over easy came out over hard. The sausage was sitting on the grill too long clearly potato's just ok. Sour dough toast was pretty good but at this point we are already sour on this location. I have noticed a lot of people complain about the pricing but I didn't see it as too crazy until we ended up sitting in a diner for over an hour. With the above avg prices at least do a good job. The table next to us ordered an eggs Benedict and there were no eggs on it! I thought they were kidding but nope. Table across from us left prob 35mns before us and the table was still not clear. Terrible. Maybe just an unfortunate day and things happen but this had so many levels of bad I will not be giving it another shot sorry.

The menu looked pretty good, but I was only there for a quick stop in. So I only had an order of wings. The wings were very good. I would recommend them. I look forward to coming back to this place and trying a lot more stuff. The service was very pleasant. It is located in the same parking lot as a driving range and a miniature golf so it has a lot to offer overall if you're looking for something to do and then stopping in for something to eat or a drink. I will be trying this again for sure. Looking forward to making a new review with much more detail on the food

I want to warn others that Calloway's is charging a 3% "processing fee" on debit card transactions…read more It is important for customers to know that in New Jersey, surcharging debit cards is not permitted under the law. Check for yourself, a quick search on Gemini or Grok yields the same response "No, it is generally not legal for a NJ restaurant to charge a 3% fee on a debit card transaction, even if they label it as a "credit card" fee." When I questioned the manager about this, I was met with excuses rather than a resolution. Point is that management can help prevent this by adding the debit card fee everywhere the rule is posted. It is clear this practice is about padding the restaurant's bottom line rather than covering costs. While our server was wonderful and not at fault, the management's lack of transparency is unacceptable. I like Callaway's but don't like their management who take no responsibility in rectifying this simple problem.

The one rude waitress proceeded to rattle off the lengthy list of the specials of the day and expected us to remember them. And she did not provide any prices for the items. Why can't someone just type up the specials and make copies to provide. You are not going to sell your specials if someone doesn't even remember what they are 2 minutes after you've explained them. People generally need to read and reread items on the menu before they make a choice. Use common sense! So we knew on Sundays the German menu was available and when I asked waitress, she rudely said to me "well you have to ask for that menu". Like duh!! What??!!! Why would you have to ask for that menu and what if I didn't know about the menu, then you were never going to sell anything on that menu? It's your Sunday special and you should be handing it out without someone asking!!! So dumb really!! My nephew ordered what I think is the lobster tails and he was very specific asking what kind of sauce and any other items that came with? When she told him that it was a lemon butter sauce he was OK with that. It came with a completely different sauce! Wow, how is that even possible? Either the waitress wasn't properly informed on the preparation or the chef decided to change it. So that had to be sent back and remade. Unbelievable!! The saga continue ...anyone who ordered the items from the German menu were given an option of salad or soup. Then they came back out later and said the soup was not available because the chef didn't like the way it came out. Not really sure how you can mess a potato leek soup. I think there's like four ingredients in it ‍. So my sister said she would have a small cup of the onion soup instead, and the waitress told her no you can't have that soup only the lobster (weird soup) or the salad. That is so crazy. Why can't she have the onion soup? the waitress went and asked the chef and he said yes, she can have the onion soup. Oh gee, thanks! That's what you should've said in the first place! Mind you this place was not crowded at all, not surprising so if he was worried he was gonna run out of onion soup I doubt that was going to happen because it was not that good. I never had an onion soup with a thing that was almost equivalent to smashed piece of white bread cut into a circle instead of a piece of hearty bread like it's supposed to have. Then we asked them to split the bill into three checks at the end and that was somehow not possible. I don't know how they can't just go in the computer system and ring up 1/3 of the bill three times. She said it was a new system, but how do you go backwards in technology if it's new? 98% of restaurants can do that. Maybe the head chef has some chefs in training back there, but the whole experience was just a nightmare. And unfortunately, this was a family birthday celebration that was memorable because of how bad it was. Needless to say, we will not be going back there!

They had several dishes on the menu with their own unique twist. One of my favorites that was tried was burrata over a beet puree. I've seen burrata prepared easily over a dozen ways but never with beets. It was an excellent combination and left me wanting more. More my entree I had the sesame encrusted tuna. The portion was huge! They do not skimp here. The tuna was cooked perfectly rare and was very fresh. Surprisingly, one of the best things I ate at Manera's was the caramelized onion mashed potato's that came with my fiancés veal dish. These were out of this world and easily the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. I could have eaten an entire plate of them and that's saying something for someone that typically doesn't eat mashed potatoes! Another big perk is that Manera's is BYOB and much more reasonably priced compared to any restaurant on the island. You will surely leave satisfied after a meal here!

I ended up back at Manera's recently and wanted to share a quick update based on my new experience…read more First, our service was yet again spectacular! The waiter was caring, friendly, and professional. Secondly, the food was great, and actually even better than the last time. I started my lunch with a cup of their Chicken Tortilla Soup, which had a lightly spicy tomato-based broth infused with loads of shredded white meat chicken and garnished with a few tortilla strips. It was flavorful, comforting, and a perfect vehicle in which to dip their crusty Italian bread. Now the real improvement came from my selected entree. While the Asian Shrimp Salad that I had ordered previously was just mediocre, the Seared Tuna Salad that I got this time was delicious! The plate included mixed greens, sliced avocado, julienne cucumbers, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and sesame-crusted, sushi-grade tuna, which I ordered seared to a medium rare. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. Cups of wasabi and Asian dressing were served on the side and further infused a tangy heat to the dish. It was colorful, textural, and simply delicious. It was a real winner! Manera's Restaurant provided yet another enjoyable meal with dedicated service in a classy, yet casual, atmosphere.
