I have noticed a lot of people complain about the pricing but I didn't see it as too crazy until we ended up sitting in a diner for over an hour. With the above avg prices at least do a good job. The table next to us ordered an eggs Benedict and there were no eggs on it! I thought they were kidding but nope. Table across from us left prob 35mns before us and the table was still not clear. Check for yourself, a quick search on Gemini or Grok yields the same response "No, it is generally not legal for a NJ restaurant to charge a 3% fee on a debit card transaction, even if they label it as a "credit card" fee." When I questioned the manager about this, I was met with excuses rather than a resolution. Point is that management can help prevent this by adding the debit card fee everywhere the rule is posted. It is clear this practice is about padding the restaurant's bottom line rather than covering costs. While our server was wonderful and not at fault, the management's lack of transparency is unacceptable. I like Callaway's but don't like their management who take no responsibility in rectifying this simple problem.
