I just got my car back after the having the cat converter over a month ago. I called a few places when it happened and when the tow driver came to tow my car I told him I had two places to choose from. I was going to go with one place only because they had more hours open but the tow guy said, "You might want to go with Lextech, the other place is good too, but Lextech specifically deals with toyotas..." So I went with his suggestion and I'm glad I did. I've heard lots of stories of having to wait months for a cat converter to come in but luckily like I said I only had to wait a little over a month. He gave my paperwork a lookover and examined the car, but told me the dealer already did an inspection so I'd be wasting my money to pay him to do it again. Furthermore, he told me to keep my warranty I bought with the car (I was thinking it was an overpay and not worth the money.) But he insisted that the warranty was a decent value, even though that meant he probably wouldn't be servicing my car. I will 100% bring my cars to them for all my service needs. Amazing service I paid about $45 for an oil change which also included a head to toe inspection of my Lexus GS300. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Let me start with Aldo. This guy is great with people and customers. I had issue with my wife's Lexus. The electronic emergency brake stopped working. WOW!! I genuinely can't explain in words how amazing LEXTECH is but I will try my best. Michelle is amazing. Extremely helpful and considerate she even offered to give me their wifi code while I waited for my ride. Going into this I already had a good idea as to what needed to be fixed (thanks to my Toyota dealership back home) but being that I live over 2500 miles from home I need to find a new place to service my vehicle. About an hour after leaving my car I get a phone call from Michelle who called to explain what I had already expected to hear and at a price that was about half of what the Toyota dealership out here had quoted me. It's very hard to find good honest technicians that charge a fair price in this town but LEXTECH is the best. There was a wild vibration on the gas pedal and stirring wheel for speeds higher than 70mph. They 'diagnosed' that the problem stems from the right front axle which had already been replaced by the previous owner less than a year ago. Although they knew this, they insisted on changing the axle by saying that it is not an original part. I trusted them because I was inexperienced and did not know not to trust mechanics even though they have 5 stars in the reviews. Anyway, when they changed the axle, the problem was not solved, the vibration was still there at high speeds, but they claimed that it comes from the braking pads, which shows that they did not even test the car properly and were completely unaware of the issue. I understood I was tricked. Later, I did balancing at a tire shop where a machine also measures road force on the wheel. They rotated the tires, install the problematic ones to the rear so on and so forth, then the problem is completely solved. If you are inexperienced and do not understand cars well, I would not recommend this place. If you did not diagnose with the problem yourself do not trust them, they are looking for ways to easily get your money. Everyone earns money under similar difficulties, I do not understand how one can trick people and benefit from their weakness to get their money in such a dishonest way. read more

It might sound kooky to write this but I LOVE getting my car serviced here. Seriously! It is truly a pleasure to go in and talk to such nice people who know exactly what they are doing and charge an incredibly fair price for all services. This was only my second time at Lextech but I'm in for the long run.. they are quick with oil changes, take time to explain things to me about how my Prius V is running, and are so courteous every step of the way. When I got in today they told me it might take a little while longer than expected when I called and suggested I visit Gloria's if I wanted to hang out in a nice place with great food. I took their suggestion and it was wonderful to have a nice breakfast alone while I got my oil change and new wiper blades installed on my car. I'm a mom to a toddler and I don't have a lot of moments like these.. I would do this every week if I could, haha. I used to go to the Toyota dealership in Hollywood (the one in Glendale sucks) and I can say that my experiences at Lextech have hands down been a far better experience. There was nothing wrong w/the Hollywood dealership but the prices here are better, people take their time with you, and you won't be sold junk you don't need/tricked into anything. They're upfront, kind, and easy to work with. Love that they're in Highland Park since we moved to Eagle Rock & that's super close to us! I was much concerned when my lift-gate stop operating... I brought it to local dealer for both a 50k maintenance and a diagnostic for the liftgate issue. However, the service consultant told me that they do not perform diagnostics during the weekend ... and it is a $225 fee for diagnostic which is applicable to the actual repair. No quote or ball park estimates are provided which left me the fear of running into the googled answer (between $2 to $10K)... I searched around and found Lextech. Called them and they were able to take my request for the same day, diagnostic fee $125 applicable to maintenance (almost half of dealer)... in no time, they checked an identified the issue, parts were order and picked up the next day. Both Paul and Ardo were genuinely helpful, the waiting area was nicely equipped which allowed me to dock and work while waiting for the diagnostic result. The parts and labor were both warrant for a year. Glad that my issue was resolved and meeting such great locals, highly recommended! read more

I'm so disappointed in this shop. I have been here for oil changes and had a good experience but anything beyond that seems out of reach for this shop. I want to preface this review by saying that I really found everyone who I have interacted with at this shop to be personable and polite. The shop itself is clean and orderly and their waiting area is really thoughtful. Their pricing is also fair and I don't think that what I experienced here was a matter of dishonesty but rather a matter of "laziness" or plain disinterest or inability to do deeper diagnostic work. I don't know if they have a diagnostic capable mechanic here so keep that in mind. I have extremely limited free time and I drive A LOT. I brought my 2018 4Runner here for an oil change, a brake inspection and to talk about some noise I was hearing from the steering wheel. I used to own a mechanic shop and while I'm not a mechanic myself I am able to accurately describe my issues and communicate them clearly. My truck got the oil changed and I was told that I didn't need new brakes but I did need new tires. This sounded weird to me as my brakes were screeching and had been for weeks but I just listened to them. A few days later I go to get tires at another place and I'm told that my brakes are shot. I decide to return to LexTech and give them my business again since I live in the neighborhood and want to support a local business. They gaslight me and tell me that I don't need brakes (I believe they just didn't want to take ownership of the fact that they missed it the first time) and I ask to see the front brakes since the guy has the front tires off. Theyre clearly below 30% which is when they should be replaced if I don't want to damage the rotors. They do the front brake job after trying to tell me that I could have fixed the squeaking by "just braking really hard to clear the rust off" dog.. what??? I drive 1000 miles a week... that is not safe or real. Be serious. I also AGAIN ask them to take a look at the steering noise and describe it again-- creaking and groaning at low speeds. They tell me there is no noise and I must be imagining it. My truck is now at another shop where they've found bushing failure in my steering system as well as play in my control arms and also completely shot rear brakes that LexTech missed. I hate to leave a bad review for a business in my community but this experience has been insulting and a huge waste of my time as well as a risk to my safety and the safety of my vehicle. I like to spend my weekends camping and I am now on my third weekend of running around LA having other shops fix what LexTech could have done in a day if they had actually cared to listen to me or inspect my vehicle properly. Be careful taking advice here at face value if you drive your cars hard or care about pristine maintenance. Cute shipping container though. I've noticed that the owner of this shop has a tendency to reply rudely to bad reviews on here-- also weird but y'all have my phone number so feel free to call me if you want further feedback. I called a few places around town for a quote to replace my front struts. Paul is super responsive even on his days off. His pricing is so competitive that there is no reason for me not to take it to him. U will have to make an appointment ahead of time so they have sufficient time to work on the car. Milk greeted me at the office right away and got the paperwork done quick. Paul is very efficient and got both my struts replaced promptly. I waited at their small little waiting area which he put a fan, a TV, a small coffee table and couch with 3 bar stools for customers to hang out. He also stocked some cold drinks and coffee as well. Just like many others had mentioned about the waiting area, I can confirm that is kinda dope! Now of course I didn't come here for the waiting area, but it was the responsiveness from the Yelp message from Paul and the friendly staff, and down to the work that they did! I had my transmission oil changed and brake flushed for my Lexus CT200h, it was done in about an hour an a half. During the wait time in the wait area, Paul and his staff would come in and make sure that I was hydrated and explained which part of the process of the car. My first time experience was pretty much a straight forward maintenance with Lextech. I do plan on using them for other issues if any issues does come up for my car. Mr Paul M was very gracious with his time responding to all my queries prior to me even being a client. I had so many questions or concerns regarding my choice of purchasing an Avalon vs LS430 preowned. He agreed to help me out by doing a pre-purchase inspection to ensure I was purchasing a sound car. However, I ended up purchasing from a dealer too far from him that I couldn't do the inspection before buying. I did my due diligence on the car I purchased but I wasn't at peace until they confirmed it was in Decent condition needing mainly only to have the scheduled service maintenance due by the mileage. They wrote me up an estimate on all the recommended maintenance work to ensure the car stays in tiptop shape for the long haul. My experience has been exceptional from asking questions through Yelp to scheduling an inspection to getting the estimates. Everyone was very cordial and accommodating. I managed to save ~$1000 dollars on the needed service after having been quoted outrageous prices from non-specialty shops around the area. They were also very friendly and accommodating. It was not intimidating at all. If you have a Lexus or Toyota, take it over there. Very fair pricing and you know that your vehicle will be in the carr of people who know what they are doing. It's called "Lextech" for a reason... Just a word of advice for people who need to get their alternator replaced: If you got the AutoZone special with warranty on your defective alternator, make sure to mention that before they start working on your car. I was one of their first customers when they first opened on Sunset. I also happened to be one of their first customers when they moved to this location 2 years ago. I showed up on the 1st or 2nd day after they moved here. I had driven to their old location only to find them closed and drove over here after looking up the new address. Paul is always friendly, approachable, and of course, knowledgeable with Lexuses. Mishelle is always on her game and efficient with answering customer questions and getting folks in and out of the shop quickly. Update: took it back to Paul he told me my trans coolant line was leaking and they tightened it up. If it keeps leaking I need a new radiator. Found this weird seeing is after paying the 3k the first time at his shop he gave a big list of recommendations and not one of them had anything to do with a radiator. (Because it wasn't leaking or messed up before I overheated leaving the shop). Keep in mind before taking it here I went to big bear twice, national crest a few times, Santa Barbara, and down to San Diego without any overheating issues whatsoever. Just a shimmy when braking. Since I lost trust in Lextech I took it to a shop closer to me and told them about the trans coolant leak and how my car has been running hot and overheated once (After leaving lextech but didn't say that). At this point the mechanic test drove it, suggested new rotors (because he felt the shimmy when braking) and that he can fix this trans coolant line leak. He found that the o ring and the washer were shot and was able to stop the leak without replacing the radiator. He also informed me that there is some issues with my engine and he can't figure out why it's overheating. He suggested possibly a blown head gasket or some internal issues probably caused by that first over heating where the computer shut the car off since it got so hot. So as of now... It appears I paid lextech 3k to blow my engine up. The cars old and has a lot of miles so the mechanic suggested if it was a head gasket issue not to even replace them because the overheating could have caused a lot of other damage too And he suggested an engine rebuild but his shop does not do that work. Havnt driven the car since and it's still sitting in my garage. Tried to call lextech but again got no answer so I'm writing this update. read more
