We were approached by three separate sales people and all three were rude. One asked me a question and walked away mid sentence during my reply. Guess I wasn't worth their time. It could have been a good review, but the deal closer guy I spoke with just ruined my experience. I was shopping for a car, and I was helped by a guy who found me on the parking lot looking at their inventory. He was nice and had that "can-do" attitude. Showed me to a new car and all. So I wanted to see how much it cost and what payments would be like, with that he introduced me to Chuck Medley. He said this would be the guy who knows all the numbers and could help me come to a conclusion. Right off the bat I told him exactly "I'm shopping for an RX with specific specs. I'm curious how much it costs and what payments would be like, credit-worthiness, and such. However, I won't be buying today just yet. I'm sold on the RX, but I'm not pulling the trigger yet." Suddenly his smile shot off his face and he rolled his chair nearly 2ft back to show he had ZERO interest in talking to me. He actually then went to lecture me on "If I go ask my manager and he goes ask the bank and the bank asks their people and they come back and propose a deal to us and we have to get our finance people into it. It's at least 10 people involved and you don't want to buy the car yet. It's pointless and frankly just a lost cause." And I went on to say "Okay all I'm wondering is how much and what type of credit for how much interest." And then he lectures me with the same thing again before the salesman steps in and says "Chuck, well he's just curious to hear what the price is and about how much he'd have to pay with a *** credit score". FINALLY he says "Well that's a $60k car give or take. With X amount down then you have about Y interest for your *** credit score. The payments are $$$." Then he just shrugged me off. Are you serious? Is it just cause I'm some younger person instead of the usual 70 year old who looks like you, who comes in to spend their retirement money on a Lexus? For a year, I started to think about buying a car. I was conflicted. I liked the Range Rover Evoque, Discover and the Lexus. Then when I wanted to buy a car, I focused on the Evoque and Discover and set aside the Lexus even though I've always wanted one. I love the style of the Evoque, but felt too cramp driving it. I liked the style of the Discover so I purchased it, but having it for an entire day,I didn't like how it drove. Then when I drove the Lexus, it felt so right, so me that I fell in love with it. I quickly returned the Discover to Carmax and knew what I wanted - a Lexus. I didn't think I could afford a new Lexus NX 300 but I did. Wow, what a great dealership. I am so impressed and so happy right now. Long story short I was having an issue with my Lexus F-Sport that I could not get resolved with my family's mechanic and I was at my wits' end and seriously considering trading it in if I couldn't get it fixed. Just try to get a refund for parts or services not delivered. I have only gotten promises, but it seems if they owe you a part that you have already paid for they do not want to return your money when they can not deliver the part. Only excuses so far. We purchased a 2016 RX 350 from Lexus Carlsbad right before New Years. We had the pleasure of working with Tim Toor who was much easier to work with than the gentleman we purchased our last Lexus from (he is no longer there). Tim was very hard working and worked hard to get us exactly the car we wanted. They needed up having to truck it in from Portland, but it was well worth the wait. See attached picture and I'm sure you will agree. We don't like the high pressure sales approach and actually came in to drive 3 different RX's with Tim on three different days. He was very pleasant to work with and never tried to push a car in us that didn't fit our exact specifications. We can't forget the GM Brian Goodermont ether. He assisted and made the entire process the best car buying experience we have ever had. They took our trade in, gave us a very fair price for it and made things easy on us. We didn't want to go to multiple places to get quotes or sell to a private buyer...again, Tim and Brian came though to get us the deal that was perfect for us. Highly recommend both of them and this dealership in general. Always a nice place to come to...and I use to hate going to dealerships...so that is saying a lot! Great service and their lounge is fantastic. I had many problems with Lexus San Diego's service so I drive all the way to Carlsbad to have my Lexus serviced. The staff are all fairly friendly. They are honest and level with you regarding service levels and expected times. Obtaining a loaner car is quick and easy. Their lounge is nice. I ended up working for most of the day in their lounge even though I had a loaner because it's quiet, they have decent wifi, and a coffee bar! Even with clients coming in and out, it is still super quiet. The bathrooms are clean. Highly suggest if you need to get your Lexus serviced. They are significantly better than their counterparts in Kearny Mesa. read more

We recently purchased our first RX 350L; we have purchased several vehicles from Lexus of Carlsbad including 3 ES 350 from 2015, 2017 & 2018 all of which were great. The process started well, but fizzled out. I had inquired about an ES350 and was quickly responded to by an internet manager. I arrived for an appointment set by said manager only to be greeted by someone who was confused about why I was there. I got pawned off onto another salesman who took me on a test drive. Test drive went well and I was promised a follow up email for a specific color I was looking for. Days went by before a follow up email was sent. I waited 30 min for them to work a deal while I was there, but I had to head home (wasn't sure if I'd have to wait another hour or two). I asked them to get back to me that day AND said I was willing to pay a premium, since they had the color combo I wanted... but not the extraordinary price they gave me. They said they'd get back to me that day... they didn't. I followed up the next day, I never received a response back. I was ready to pull the trigger on a car but they simply wasted my time. Ahhhh yes, Lexus Carlsbad. I have purchased 3 brand new cars in my lifetime, all luxury, but never a Lexus. I am the ultimate car salesman's nightmare. I come into the deal completely educated with a binder full of details concerning EXACTLY what car I need as well as a numbers breakdown of what I am willing to pay (and not a penny more!) I do all my research BEFOREHAND and then I call you to see if you can work with me. No? Drama? Wishy washy? HANG UP. Its a buyer's market people! Luckily I was matched with the ultimate car salesman, Bob Kreger, who doesn't play games. He asked me what my bottom line was and asked me what I wanted on the car, what color combos, etc. Then he said okay, I have the car you want. Come get it. What? What do you mean come get it? You're supposed to fight me on this, you're supposed to tell me you cant POSSIBLY give the car away for that amount, you're supposed to lie and not tell me about the kickbacks you get from Lexus regarding getting this car off the lot. Bob. What are you doing? Bob. What is happening? This was the only Lexus dealership in Southern CA that had the color combination and package I wanted, (something I was NOT willing to budge on) and given that kind of leverage he definitely could have charged me more. I cannot state this enough that its the salesman who sells the car. If I do NOT like the salesman I wont buy from that dealership. Don't try to highball me, don't try to do the fake negotiation with me (let me see if I can run this by the manager), etc. Give me a fair price and I will buy the car from you, SIMPLE. Bob was quintessentially everything I was looking for in a car salesman and I appreciated his assistance greatly. Stay away, especially if you have pre-approved Capital One financing. The red flags were there from the start. Our saleswoman confided that she was previously homeless, has had a difficult life, her son was abused by her ex-husband, and so forth. Sorry lady, but it was a downer, listening to your story.......and why are you telling us that, we're not psychologists? Unprofessional to say the least. Next, the fiance guy, whose initials are AD, proceeds to tell us that "Cap One" financing does not report to the credit bureaus, and we should use Lexus financing. Hey bud, that's illegal, but nice try. O, and I was born at night, but not last night buddy. Second, the fiance guy wanted us to fill out a credit application, even though we had pre-approval for 30K. We refused, but they lied to us, saying it was info for the DMV. Hmmmm, the last time I filled out info for the DMV, it didn't read credit application on top of the paperwork. Nice try, but fail! According to Capital one, the dealership gets "kick backs," when unsuspecting people with pre-approval fill out the credit app, which the dealership runs. Yes, it's all for profit. Lastly, this dealership is in the stone age with pre-approved financing, which I would be okay with had they admit to it, when I questioned them about it. Instead, finance guy went into a long diatribe about how 80% of his customers are previous lexus owners, talking down to me. Hey bud, I may look like I'm 26 years old, but I did graduate from Pepperdine with a degree in Economics. I own a condo in Huntington Beach that I purchased in 06' for 500k. Well, thanks for botching the deal, and making our lives difficult. So here we go again, I call the dealership in Carlsbad and in Escondido, left messages on the answering machines of the service manager, general manager, and owner telling them that if I do not get my refund I will be taking them to court. Two days later my wife says if the refund does not post she is going to write "Lexus screwed up my brakes and my family was almost killed" in soap on her car and park it out front of the dealership. The refund showed up in the bank that morning, hmm imagine that. Didn't want the publicity did you Lexus? Next would have been the media. I leased a 2021 RX 350 and drove off the lot a happy customer. With less than 200 miles on the odometer, the check engine light came on. Off to the service department and a text to my salesperson. Lexus Carlsbad understood that I had a flawed new car experience. The dealership offered to fix the electrical problem but gave me a choice of exchanging the vehicle for an identical vehicle.
