He bends over backwards to make sure that I am satisfied, and have had all needs met. He always gets the work done on my car in a timely fashion, and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Although I purchased my car from Lexus Escondido and usually conduct my services there, today I went to Lexus Carlsbad for the 1st time ever for my 25,000 mile service of my 2015 IS 250. Chris Gugielmucci supported me through the process of my paperwork and service. He was extremely kind and welcoming and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!! Originally I had reserved a loaner vehicle for the day, however I decided I might stay in the lounge to study. After a little bit in the lounge, I changed my mind and headed over to loan a vehicle. Initially the representative to loan a car was hesitant to loan me a vehicle, as he said there weren't very many left. He offered to drop me off at the location of my choosing. I let him know that I had reserved a car prior and would prefer to head to the library to study. He looked at my paperwork and thought my service shouldn't take too long and asked what I was quoted with time. I told him about 2 hours, which he then said it shouldn't take that long and went to find Chris. I've never had a problem loaning a vehicle before and often reserved them when servicing my vehicle. When Chris arrived, he reassured me that if I would like to loan a vehicle that would be fine. I proceeded to loan a vehicle and went to the library nearby. Chris called me shortly after and apologized for his colleague's response. I was completely surprised that Chris was so observant of the situation as I was very taken aback by the awkward interaction when trying to loan a car. Chris reported the matter to his manager and also gave me a complimentary service. He wanted to ensure that my experience and anyone else's experience at Lexus Carlsbad is nothing but the best. I hate bringing a car to a dealer, but this place is super nice and very fair. When my hybrid battery died they checked out the car, washed it, gave me a loaner and charged me... nothing! Thinking that I had no common knowledge on cars. After haggling over 20 different dealers ranging from LA area to down here. What made me decide to go to Carlsbad was solely based on how Bob Presented himself on the phone and emails (I'm a real picky person) and efforts to provide me and my wife the best deal for our vehicle and customer service. Mike Anjurd the Carlsbad Lexus Manager is Fabulous!!! We came in with an appointment to see him at 1 pm Sat Dec 29th they had a 2013 Red ES350 which we wanted. We met Mike and he asked Ken to give a tour and a ride in the car. Ken was knowledgeable about the car inside out, and all his responses to the mechanics of the car were excellent. Once we were happy with our choice, it came down to the numbers. We had a trade in and I knew what it should trade for we knew what we wanted to pay for the car and as we came back to Ken's office Mike came by as well. Mike wanted to know if we liked the drive and wanted to purchase the car with my trade in in the deal. I said yes of course he said give me 5 minutes. He was back in 5 and gave me the numbers and I was so happy I could explode. I said yes and we were all done except to do the paper. I was on my way by 3:15 pm Mike took us the Finance dept. and we were helped again in a 5 star manner. Lexus Carlsbad was a 5 star performances. How can I help you was felt by me by all the people that worked in the store. I can't begin to express my displeasure at this dealership and there isn't room enough to explain the lemon we bought used from them. The es300 we purchased back in 2012 for $11k has needed $8k of major mechanical work. Power steering to oil pump to electrical failure to even the chassis and suspension. It has been a nightmare. We just wanted a little around town car, not a money sink. The car was sold to us as mechanically perfect and they claimed to have even recently replaced several major parts prior to purchase. The lexus brand is great as a whole but this dealership is seriously shady. I may buy a new lexus soon, but sure as hell not from these bafoons. read more

I bought my first Lexus yesterday, a 2014 Lexus ES 350. I'm very excited to be part of the Lexus family. I bought a brand new Jeep 3 years ago, and it wasn't a very good experience. -I had to fight for a rental car on warranty recalls -I was promised a full size spare tire, didn't deliver -I asked for a full tank of gas, was told "we don't do that anymore." Very sad, because I loved the Jeep, but felt like I wasn't getting any kind of experience when I brought it in for service. Bob, Sean and Charles were great, worked with me to make a deal work and Brent in service showed me that regardless of the issue with your Lexus, bring it in, we'll give you a rental, most likely another Lexus, unless they're out. Thank you! :) Complimentary Car washes as a perk - 2 stars: I am on the fence about the complimentary car washes because we got one before and the car looked worse because it was covered in water spots, it was obvious that it was done quickly. I brought it back again and paid for the upgrade to have it washed and vacuumed and for the tire treatment etc and I had to ask them to do it again because it was still dirty; water spots, the vacuum job was not complete and the seats and dash were not wiped down. I am on the fence about the benefit of the car washes but I will try again in the near future and see if I have a better experience. The lounge is very nice and convenient. read more

I have been going to Lexus Carlsbad for almost 13 years now. Since the first time I bought my car there, to now, I have had a lot of interaction with Lexus and their customer service department. I have always been treated with respect, kindness, and courtesy. I have never had any problems with any of the Service Advisers, or the Service Manager Ray. I've gone through about three or four service advisors for one reason or another and each one was just as courteous and just as accommodating as the previous. I am always treated like a queen whenever I visit Lexus Carlsbad. I feel like I am in capable hands. My favorite part of going to Lexus Carlsbad is that they treat me like a PERSON. Summary: 1 Star for Sales Rep Carson, 10 stars for Sales manager Brian. Process was great, called and negotiated price over the phone, settled on an "out the door" price. First mis-step was when Carson tacked the paperwork fee onto the "out the door" price. Apparently we needed to go over word meanings in the English dictionary when we were negotiating. Very chicken s*&t move if you ask me but I didn't want to make a big scene or walk out over it so I let it go, paid the extra. At this point we had just dropped from 5 to 3 stars. After our purchase the car we bought had some kind of malfunction while trying to drive it home. It was a Mercedes that was still under warranty so they took it to the Mercedes lot for us. From that point forward I'm pretty sure Carson just told us everything we wanted to hear as far as it being taken care of without spending 5 minutes actually taking care of anything. We were told lie after lie about the status of the car. After about 10 days of this we were finally going to get the car back but we were told the guy driving the car to us broke the side mirror housing trying to clean the condensation out of them. Never mind the fact that the side mirror housings were supposed to have been replaced already. So we're told the vehicle will come to us the next day because it's back at the Mercedes lot getting the side mirror housings replaced... again. The car shows up the next day with the broken pieces from the side mirrors in the center console!! And the broken housing still on the car!! exposing the LED lights to moisture, luckily it was done raining a few days earlier. At this point, they were at 1 star (because 0 isn't possible). Luckily, a few days prior to the delivery a Sales manager named Brian had begun following our case. He was so disappointed in how the whole process when down that he offered to cancel the whole sale. When we decided to keep it, he not only made sure to take care of everything on our due bill immediately, he also kept telling us he wanted to "make it up to us somehow". I didn't think much of it, maybe a gift card or something small would come in the mail. After he mentioned it a few times we told him we were going to get the paint corrected by a local detailer and he immediately said he'd cover it. I was floored. We then gave him the estimate and I was floored again when he still covered it. Paint correction is not cheap. If Brian ever works for a Mercedes lot I will buy all my cars from him. If any of you are looking for a Lexus, go straight to Brian the sales manager, he really is about making customers happy. Just make sure you stay clear of Carson if he still works there. read more

This is a Service Department review. Brought in mom's car for rodent-related repairs in Aug. Insurance inspected and approved a $12k job to repair everything damaged by the rats. Service was completed & pick up was smooth. When mom started driving it, she noticed she had been kicked off her Bluetooth. Not being tech-savvy and never suspecting it to be related to the recent service, she drove around for 4 months w/o a BT connection until we kids came home for the holidays to get it reconnected for her. Thurs 12/28 I called Lexus Carlsbad to get an appointment for service & explained that I had tried with 4 different phones and I believe this is related to the previous service because it happened right after but no one was available to bring the car in. They wouldn't allow me a service appointment and insisted that I come by so their tech person Patricia can take a look. Took her 2 seconds to see the message "Microphone not connected" on our set up screen and tell me this is a service issue. One hour of my time wasted (driving included) only to confirm that I was right from the start and needed an appointment after all. I called Lexus back for an appointment on Sat 12/30. Although our regular service tech (Steve) was not available until Tue 1/2/18, they gave us a Sat appointment after I told them any available tech is fine because we had time to take the car in and wanted to get the microphone connected as soon as possible. We also asked them to take a look at the auto light function since this also stopped working after the Aug service. After dropping off the car, we did not hear back from them again until Wed 1/3. Granted Sundays they are closed and Monday was a holiday, this was still an incredibly long time to wait for the car to be looked at & diagnosed, especially considering we brought it in Sat morning at 10am. Turns out, despite our insistence to get it looked at as soon as possible, they booked our car to be serviced by Steve anyways. A text message from Steve on 1/3 indicated: Bluetooth problem was due to bent peg from Aug installation so they will take care of that; they think there's another potential chewed-through wire that was affecting the vehicle's auto light. He asked us to contact insurance for approval to disassemble so they can take a closer look. After insurance was contacted and adjuster had evaluated, Steve called to let us know it would be a $500 deductible (with a bill of ~$5.5k for insurance) to fix these new cables. We expressed we did not want to pay $500 and asked him to talk to his manager about this case because we still believed it was due to the previous service. When we didn't hear from him for a few days, I called on Saturday to the check on the status of the car. The representative who answered the phone advised they were waiting on parts and car would likely not be ready until Thursday 1/11. However, since we did not want to create another claim with insurance and pay a $500 deductible for something that was potentially missed from the last service, we came in on Monday morning, 1/8 to pick up the car and deal with the auto light some other way. On Monday morning they told us repairs had already been done and they just needed to complete paperwork to release it. HOW could repairs have been done when they were still waiting on parts on Saturday, service closed Sunday, and we're here Monday at 9am to pick up the car? When talking with Steve he kept insisting we need to stop leaving food in the car. He sounded very angry and would not allow me to say anything until he had explained EVERYTHING from his side, repeating multiple times about food in the car. He explained they had proof that the auto light is a new issue so it warranted a second insurance claim. I simply wanted to know where the authorization for service came from because we did not approve of paying for this fix. He told me authorization was when we allowed for insurance to communicate with them. Insurance did send us an estimate of the costs based on Lexus's pricing but the invoice indicated we are not obligated to get service done here. And we certainly NEVER approved for this service to be performed. Imagine our shock Monday morning when we came in to pick up the car under the impression that it hadn't been serviced (per conversation on Saturday), only to find out service HAD been completed and we are expected to pay $500 to drive our own car off their lot. We have been loyal service customers of Lexus Carlsbad since we became Lexus owners in 2008 (we have 3 cars that have been serviced through them). However, the lack of transparency, eagerness to bill insurance for service, and unapologetic manner with handling their own mistakes is unacceptable. We have lost all faith in the integrity of Lexus Carlsbad's Service Center. Never bringing our vehicles here again. read more

He didn't make me feel pressured into buying anything I didn't want to buy. Joe was amazing and took his time to show me everything about the car. I had gone to the Mission Viejo one and I didn't feel the same way as I did when I came to this one. From the ridiculous to the sublime, I think I now know the reason no one ever regrets buying a Lexus. I bought a new IS here last Friday at the recommendation of the Miramar Audi Service Manager (see the review that immediately proceeds this review). Since last Friday, I've had to interact with the service department for various things related to after-market items I'm having installed on my car. And guess what... EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. with whom I have spoken, including the receptionist, goes out of their way to assist me in any way they possibly can. They're just delighted to help, period. Lovely people. Everyone carries this genuine, wonderful attitude of "Are you sure, Ms. Thomas, that there is absolutely nothing more at all that we can do to serve you today?" Hell... at the last minute I asked them to do something additional while my car was in, and they apologized PROFUSELY that in order to meet my request they'd need to keep the car until the following morning rather than just that night. This is the way a car dealership should be. I was going to deduct one star because after they installed my Sirius radio they forgot to provide me with the serial number, thus rendering it useless until we're able to track it down or start over, but let's face it... this is minor. Their response to the issue is immediate. They also won that star right back by providing sodas, bottled water, bagels and a coffee bar similar to a Starbucks with no cash register, because everything is free. That's right, FREE. I appreciated her prioritization of the offers such as Finishing Touch vehicle appearance protection, window tinting, and excess wear and use protection.  She has been the Finance Manager for my last 3 (including this one) transactions with Lexus of Carlsbad. I appreciate her honesty and her ability to discern what I'm looking for and work towards that. Elyna and I had several conversations as we looked over and test drove the 2 different models. She has very good listening and communication skills. We covered a lot of subjects from performance and handling, to color combinations/interior details, to clear explanations of the latest technology on each car. We even compared our sunglasses for driving--Maui Jim to Ray Bans. Elyna provided just the right amount of guidance (which I appreciated) as I thought out loud to arrive at my decision--which I am thoroughly happy with.
