About 6 months after my purchase my dryer started to only work intermittently; it's now been 18 months since then and I still do not have it fixed. Neither have been much of a help and I am now being told I have to figure out how to unstack my dryer and pull it down myself before anyone arrives. What if I was a 75 year old person with a bad back and no family to help me unstack, what then? They claim it's a policy yet I can't find it anywhere and even in the email they suggest to unstack it for faster servicing nothing says it is mandatory. I called and filed a claim with LG and LG Premium on 11/10/23 for a technician to come fix the issue. We found out that LG contracts out with Asurion who then uses Sears for appliance repairs and parts are ordered/purchased via Home Depot. All service appt are done via Sears AI, which overbooks all services calls daily, as verified via their technicians. We had two appts (you must be available 8:00AM -5:00PM and wait all day) set up and the technician never showed up despite us receiving text msgs that he was on his way. A 3rd appt has been scheduled but we don't have any guarantee of services. You cannot get any help from LG Customer Service except for numbers that connect to international call centers. The workers are not fluent in English and background noise over takes your conversation. So, all hope is lost in trying to get any help! My fridge sent me a message to call about a temperature problem. I did, and they sent out a team that replaced the compressor in less than two hours. Great service!!! BUT I have premium care on our dishwasher. Bad leak, so I called. Sears repair came out in a couple days, ordered gasket and some other parts. Ordered a washer. When it was delivered, they told me it was not possible to get my dryer out of my laundry room in order to put the new washer in. As though my house had been built around the dryer and it had never come in or out of that doorway. The delivery men were rude, the woman who called me to tell me that my dryer would not come out was rude. I said no, I'll just order from Best Buy as they had successfully installed both a washer and a dryer over the past several years despite the "fact" that the dryer was supposedly permanently stuck in the laundry room as I apparently bought it from IKEA and assembled it inside the laundry room myself. About a week after that, my refund was issued but they charged me a $55 restocking fee for returning the washer. So let me get this straight. Basis of Complaint: LG Electronics Deceived us by failing to disclose that LG refrigerators, particularly the French Door units with Linear Compressors, may have issue(s)/Defects involving the Linear Compressor causing them to fail in just a few years. An issue they knew to exist at that time. Best Buy did not alert us to any issue(s) regarding LG Refrigerator Linear Compressors. We were led to believe that these units could last up to 20 years; were of high quality, energy efficient and rated as "Best Buys" by LG's advertisement/claims and Best Buy Sales Associates. Had we been informed of these (possible) LG Refrigerator Defects we never would have purchased the item. LG states that its Customer Service is Top of the Line. LG states that when a service is required this service will not only be quick and efficient but done by Certified LG Technicians (Or Technicians meeting LG's high standards). *LG was notified on 19 Jan 2022 of our warranty issue (compressor failure; cooling system failure). *LG verified this notification on 20 Jan 2022 by texting my phone relating that they were looking for a provider to service our refrigerator. (Note: By simply accessing the internet and searching for "appliance repair, Colorado Springs", dozens of businesses with definable histories; depth (multiple techs); certifications; who are licensed, bonded, insured and local to Colorado Springs come up. All of which can be readily vetted within an hour. During the night of August 22, the refrigerator totally died and nothing worked after that and we lost all of the food inside. LG Tech Brent Cleveland arrived on 8/29/2022 and he after looking refrigerator over couldn't believe that previous tech changed out compressor when it was working but didn't fix anything but really killed our unit. He stated that he wouldn't want to keep such a refrigerator in his house but would replace with new one because it had been ruined, he said he would write this in his report. He then "reset" compressor but said that it probably wouldn't last long. He was correct because it died about 2 hours later that evening. We called LG again on 8/30/2022 and requested another service call in which they sent the first contractor guy Takos Home Service in which he came by on 9/5/2022 but he said he couldn't fix the unit after looking it over with a screw driver when it was him that stole our good component in the first place!! I still have 2 months on my refrigerator warranty but after this I will never use any warranty service again, I'm an engineer and will just find a nearby "5 star" reviewed service company, it'll be cheaper in the long run and save our sanity. I decided to use the Normal cycle setting and it didn't add enough water to get the clothes completely wet. The robe came out with dry spots all over it, the water never got to it. Crazy! I called Customer Support to see if a technician could adjust the water level on the Normal cycle setting and was told it's not possible. She said the lower water level usage is part of the High Efficiency rating. Now I will have to use the Heavy Duty or Deep Wash cycles to wash anything which fills the tub significantly, wastes a lot of water and defeats the purpose of buying a High Efficiency washer. LG should allow the water level to be adjusted on the Normal cycle setting. Not happy! read more

I bought an LG refrigerator on January 2024. It got broken 4 months after I received it. I called LG and it is very difficult to get it fix. I have friends who have a lot of issues with LG refrigerators. So, save you some time and money. Do not buy anything from LG. My LG washing machine has stopped working so I followed their troubleshoot and called them to get further help. I had the 10 year warranty for the part I needed and so I asked them to send it over so I can get it fixed by my local technician that worked with before. He has been a great help and I wanted to support my local businesses. LG support initially pushed their own technicians, but when I told them I wanted to use my local technician, they made me go through this whole process of getting all my technicians info to send him a "Letter of Authorization (LOA)" so he can order the parts because I, being the owner of the machine, am not allowed to order the part which I am in warranty for. After going through that whole process, five days later my technician still hadn't receive the email with this LOA. At this point he called the support line where they LG representative began to tell him that it takes 3 to 5 days to receive the letter, but stopped herself when he mentioned that it had already been 5 days. At this point she stuttered and then stated that it will take 7 to 10 days because she was initially reading the wrong info. My technician asked how a customer who's washing machine is not working supposed to wait 7 to 10 days just to receive a letter, then order the part that could take another couple of weeks and then hopefully get their machine working a month later. Her only reply was that this is the process that is required. It has now been a month and he still has not received this LOA even though he confirmed during his call that the email address they had on file was correct. Fortunately, my technician is resourceful and got the part himself and got my machine working. One of the reasons I like his guy. So thank you LG for all the lack of support and wasting my time while leaving my family with a broken down LG product. Don't waste your time with this company. read more

I have a refrigerator that was 5 months old. I contacted LG to replace the ice maker and at first there was pretty good communications. They were unable to find an authorized warranty provider in my area, and eventually offered to pay me out and I would have to scrap the unit. This sounded absurd to me, so I offered to locate, and pay a repair provider. The LG Presidential liaison I had been communicating with agreed to this and offered to reimburse me after I paid for the repairs. Once the repairs were made the communication stopped, and I have not been able to get an answer from them at all. read more

Purchased a stove from them in July of 2022. The stove is VERY unsafe. The fire is torchlike. We got burnt on several occasions. Their custormer service lies, hangs up, purposely keeps you on hold for over an hour, transfer you over and over again until you get tired and stop. Basically theit just run you tired till you stop bothering them. Ask for proof of purchase over and over again. NEVER EVER PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS!!! read more

Bought a fridge from LG in December 2019. Now, almost all of the plastic door bins have cracked and it hasn't even been 2 years. Never in my life have had a plastic part in a fridge break, until I owned an LG fridge. Now even though it's still under warranty, LG is refusing to replace the parts claiming it's just "cosmetic damage". It goes way beyond cosmetic damage--one of the bins is completely shattered and unusable, while most of the remaining bins already have hairline cracks and will shatter soon enough. LG not only is clearly trying to get away with planned obsolescence on its appliances by using cheap materials, their customer service is horrible. Avoid LG like the plague. read more

MAJOR PROBLEMS with LG company. We purchased a French door refrigerator from Home Depot and handle came off 2 weeks after we purchased. I called Home Depot first and was told to contact LG. I called LG and was told I'd have to pay tech to come out and fix it. I purchased a brand new refrigerator and handle broke in 2weeks. I was so shocked to hear but what can I do. I told them to send me new door handles. I waited 2 weeks and called 800-243-0000 to find out ETA and couldn't find my records. I placed an order again. I contacted after a week to see if they send it and "NO" records again. I was like WT**. Finally, after the 3rd try, the lady helped me going through all these problems and got it after 2weeks. Of course, the upper door handle broke too after a few weeks later! It's just a nightmare with LG! STAY AWAY FROM LG products! read more
