Went here to get laphing and I placed couple of yellow laphing and white laphing for takeout. I had heard good things about this place so I didn't go to my usual place but now i regret it . The laphing was not a fresh one . It seems like it was days old . I don't think they used the ingredients they were supposed to use . It lacked flavor , no taste of garlic or the soy. The texture of laphing was just not right.Like a mushy uncooked dough. Everything was just so terrible , we had to throw them all out . Wouldn't recommend this place for laphing .

I have never had Tibetan food before so I was very excited to try it out. We were seated promptly as we got inside and I was genuinely very surprised as the prices felt like they were too affordable for such a nice interior. - Lamb Thentuk - When I first got this dish, I expected it to be incredibly flavorful as the soup was bright red. It actually was pretty light which surprised me, but I was appreciative of how many ingredients there were. I would imagine this is a version of the American chicken noodle soup, as comfort food. I thought it was interesting that they put bell peppers in here as I didn't know those vegetables grew in Tibet. - Steamed Beef & Chive Momo - I was excited to try this dish, but it tasted like a regular dumpling minus the chives being a thicker cut. Overall, if you haven't tried Tibetan food before, would definitely recommend to go give it a try but I wouldn't expect any crazy flavor profiles that you haven't tried before.

Visited Lhasa Fast Food yesterday afternoon and ordered their beef + chive steamed momos ($8) and potato fried momos ($9). They were made fresh and came out after 10 minutes, with 9 dumplings per order. The beef + chive steamed momos tasted fresh and I liked how it wasn't too thick-skinned. If you love chives, get these momos because they were stuffed with it. The fried momos were more on the doughy side, but paired very well with the potato filling inside. I thought both the steamed and fried momos were delicious! Make sure to eat them hot, or else they'll get too chewy. Don't forget the hot sauce! (not too spicy, tastes similar to sriracha imo) Momo filling choices: beef beef & chive chicken chive potato

I can't keep myself away from spicy jelly noodles because they make such a great appetizer and have a nice mouth-feel when you bite into them! My spice tolerance is pretty good but the white laphing can get hotter than you think so beware! This was my second time trying momos and we got the steamed potato kind. They were very standard as far as momos/dumplings goes. Pair it with some black vinegar and chili oil for some extra flavor! The veggie thenthuk was perfect for a cold night. The soup was just right, not bland and not too salty either. It is packed with hand pulled noodles, mushrooms, bokchoy, and other veggies! It reminded me of a hearty chicken soup if it were made vegetarian. The restaurant is a pretty good size and I didn't feel cramped. Although there weren't many people there the service can be a bit slow, but our waiter was always friendly!

I love their delicious steamed beef momo's! Juicy delicious and yummy. It's great to try their lamb thenthuk (irregular fun cut noodles) in hot soup. I went with my friend recently for lunch Saturday and thought the vibe of the staff was welcoming and friendly. They checked in on us and also were available to answer questions. The food was so amazing that we ate all of it and had no leftovers. I would highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. When it's warm, they have outdoor dining. Please check out my photos for portion size. It is tasty!

1st time here, went cuz heard good things abt the place but were we disappointed since we stepped in. 1st of all, it was hot as hell in there since the AC wasn't on. There was only 1 server who was doing everything, including taking payments. It took forever for her to come by & ask if we were ready to order since it was pretty busy. It took even longer to get our food. All I ordered was steamed beef dumplings ($8/8 pieces) which i didn't like cuz it had celery in it. I hate celery! It was totally unexpected, I've had dumplings from so many other places but never with celery in it. My friend ordered shabaleb ($9/4 pc) which was horrible as well. The dough/bread had no flavor, not even salt. Never going back.

Found on a busy commercial business street in Jackson Heights, I came upon this unassuming small restaurant. What drew me in was the photo displayed in the window of Anthony Bourdain posing with the owner. Well, if it is good enough for him, it should be worth a visit, no? I ordered the Signature Dish, beef noodle soup, with digit sized noodle, mushroom, glass rice noodle, red and green peppers. Similar to some Chinese or Vietnamese dishes, yet a little different. It was very comforting on a brisk late winter day.

First time trying momos! They were delicious and so cheap! We had the chicken momos on repeat and they were a hit. The service was average, every time we tried to order more it was hard to track down the servers which made it take a while. It was a very casual spot and great for a food tour of Queens!

We were in the Jackson Heights area and were craving momos and we happened to be in the same block as Lhasa. Always heard great things about their food, so of course we had to try out their momos. We were pressed for time so we went in just to have momos. We went in the restaurant and it was pretty empty. We were told to sit where ever we wanted. We waited for few minutes yet no one came to take our order or even talk to us. We had to ask if anyone was going to take our order. We just ordered the fried chicken momo. After we placed our order the momos came out pretty quickly. The momos tasted great. They were fresh and very flavorful. Next time I'm around JH I need to go back to this place and try out other food.

I've been here a few times already . Very solid beef momos. Although it can't beat my favorite hole in the wall place (whose name I won't mention here for gatekeeping purposes lol), the ambience here is much cleaner and more formal compared to my usual spot for momos. I got the beef dumplings and I was a little bit disappointed it wasn't a soupy as I'd like. But it was still very good though. I also like their chow mein. Service was OK but I felt like it could be faster. Will definitely come here when I'm in with larger groups.

    Give me mo' momos!

Long time momo institution in the heart of JH. While there are many options for momos in and around the area, this place place keeps it gangster and old school by serving you the good 'ol hot doughy momos you would expect from a traditional establishment. I consider myself somewhat of a momo expert and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the momos were. I try to frequent different posts as the plethora of small eateries around the area are too many to frequent in one lifetime. Hence, it was my first time here. Nonetheless, I still prefer Admo momo or mama's momos truck. I will try them again soon.

    Roaches on my momos

ROACHES IN MY FOOD! this is beyond disgusting to have ordered simple momos and for them to be infested with baby roaches, I have reported this establishment to the NYC food department. Absolutely HORRIBLE !

The steamed momo and butter tea were a great combo! Tibetan food is light and fresh, and this place does it well at an affordable price!

The food types are similar but offer different spice/flavor profiles. They have a large section of noodles, soup, and rice. A veggie section with various combos of cauliflower, potatoes, onion, bamboo, blackened peas, mustard greens, and spices. Some of the Indian dishes: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala. Some of the appetizers include crispy tofu, fried soybeans, a Nepali snack platter with marinated meat, goat, beef tripe, sliced beef tongue, fried jerky, duck. They also have a momo section. We had their famous chicken lollipops (essentially fried chicken) and it was crispy and spicy (in a good way). We also had sadeko (marinated or tossed) bacon, which was rich and tender. I had one of their Nepali cocktails, which was pleasantly spicy (the chatpata aam, made with tequila, spicy chatpatey syrup, and mango puree). Service was attentive. Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

The first time that I came here was about 3 years ago with a few friends and we liked the food - the beef tongue was different and super memorable and the jhol momos were just swimming in flavorful curry. Made me want to come back again. Fast-forward three years later, I feel like things have changed significantly. Or maybe I didn't catch them at their best, but I came with another group of friends and I just felt overall disappointed with the food, as did my friends who were excited to try Himalayan food for the first time. I had the goat dhat bhat and the small amount of meat served in aesthetically pleasing bowls to mask the portion was disappointing--and this was not a lunch special or anything. I mainly got a big bone and realistically got about 2-3 small bites of actual meat, while there was an overwhelming amount of rice and veggies. The momos also tasted like they were pre-made and heated or steamed up again because the dough was definitely a little rough. Overall, this experience was a meh for me. I think it is a social staple for many Nepalese and Tibetans in the area, and just for that.

It was sad to see Grandstand close, but I was elated to see a Nepalese and Himalayan restaurant open in its place since I'm a big fan of the flavors that the cuisine offers. Met up with a friend on a Sunday night. She was already excited by the aesthetics of the exterior of Faarzi and was snapping away. When we opened the door, we were surprised by how pretty the interior was. It was filled with lush, vibrant colors and fun decor that was a tasteful mix of contemporary and rustic, which provided a nice, high-end vibe. It felt authentically Tibetan with a contemporary touch to it. We 'd it! It is the prettiest Nepalese restaurant that I've been to in Queens! Once we sat down, a complimentary basket of popcorn arrived. To my surprise, it was DELICIOUS! It was buttery and just savory enough -- not as crisp as popcorn that's just been popped, but so good that it was addictive! What a nice TREAT!! I couldn't stop reaching for it and according to the sign outdoors, the popcorn has unlimited refills! Now, for the food! We ordered 4 dishes to share: - Bhatti Ko Faarzi Masala Chowmein: Wow, just wow!! The masala spice brought this chow mein to another level! Every mouthful of noodle was al dente and had a balanced bite of a perfect amount of masala spice, ginger, savoriness, and a mild kick of heat. It's on the oilier side, but so flavorful that I kept scooping for more! Can't wait to revisit Faarzi and eat more of this! - Boudhha Ko Faarzi Gheu Momo: We ordered the chicken option. The size of the momos was slightly smaller than the momos I've had before, but they were bursting with flavor! Each bite tasted of cumin, cilantro, garlic, and spices that are very familiar in Nepalese food combined with the fragrant Szechuan peppercorn. The lovely tingling mala flavor from the peppercorns was delicate, but delightful! The momos were delicious, each morsel of meat was wrapped in a thin, chewy skin, which gave it a nice bite even though the chicken filling was on the drier side -- the tomato-based sauce that came with it compensated for it. The sauce was so good, it could literally be eaten with anything. The menu mentioned that 2 sauces would accompany the momos, but only one sauce was paired with them. When we asked, we were informed that the other sauce was the chili crisp hot sauce that I had received earlier when I requested for chili sauce. The momos were definitely a flavor bomb with the tomato-based sauce!. Every bite was heavenly! - Piro Nauni Wings: The wings came, and we couldn't stop ooo'ing about the visual presentation of the dish. There were 2 wings and 2 small drumsticks with a shiny glaze, they were hung on a little contraption that looked similar to how roast meats are hung by the window in Chinese restaurants. It was very cute! The wings were smoky, juicy, slightly sticky and sweet with a good amount of spice that tasted of tandoori. It would be even more fantastic if the skin were crispy. Give the crunchy puffed rice plated on the bottom of the wings a try! It is toasty, crunchy, and delicious and adds a layer of flavor to whatever you decide to add it to. Just delicious! - Jadiyaa Lal Mohan: A juicy, moist, sugary, alcoholic dessert that is not only unique, but fun! There are 4 donut-hole-sized balls of soft, fluffy cake, similar to cake pops, that are soaked in a sugar syrup. Stuck into each cake ball is a shot of whisky in a plastic tube, which you can squeeze to infuse the whisky into the cake however much you like. Since the whisky is quite strong and the shot is generous considering the size of the cake, if you do not like whisky, you may want to try the version without it though it is the whisky that gives the cake flavor. The cake would be much more interesting if it had more of the flavors that Jadiyaa are loved for or maybe if the sugar syrup paired with it was flavored with the spices used to make Jadiyaa. Far a more subdued whisky flavor, give the whisky shot just a pinch and enjoy! We had a great time at Faarzi -- great food, great vibe, good portions, and there was live music towards the end of our meal! Not to mention, we thoroughly enjoyed the Mukhwas style mix of spices and candy bits that were served at the end of the meal! i Can't wait to return to Faarzi to try the Pani Puri, which looked delicious and beautiful!
