The store was on the emptier side probably given the weather outside, with only about a third of their 30 or so seats taken. Seating is first come first serve, no formal waiter service, you order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Staff were helpful in explaining what each item was, the protein options (a choice of chicken or beef for each), and level of spiciness (not too spicy though the accompanying sauces had a kick). We ordered-- - Kothey momo $9.99: selected the beef filling, this was a lightly pan-fried dumpling with a thin dough wrapper and savory minced beef filling. Served with a medium spicy dipping sauce. Good! - Thai soup momo $12.99: came in a curry broth with vegetables, my friend ordered the chicken momos and they came piping hot in the soup. Tasty and warm comfort food for a very cold evening. - Chili momo $11.99: deep fried and served with a tangy sweet and sour chili sauce, peppers and onions, my friend ordered the beef version. The spice level on the chili sauce was pretty mild. Yummy. - Samosa chaat momo $11.99: sprinkled with diced tomato, onion, cilantro doused with green chutney and sitting in a shallow bed of yogurt sauce, these deep fried momo were so flavorful. - Tandoori momo $11.99: I'm not sure if these were baked in a tandoori oven but they were sure seasoned with spices to taste like it , and delicious! Tender and juicy chicken filling. - Sandeko momo $11.99: another deep fried momo (this time I asked for beef) topped with a chunky sauce of soybeans, tomato and onion, filled with minced meat. This was another tasty plate! All the momos we ordered came with 8 pieces, while some of the basic flavors come with a couple more pieces. A single plate is a moderate amount of food for a meal though we ended up ordering six different types to share and try. Each stood out in a different way and I'd heartily recommend all. If there was just one critique it was since it was so cold that night (in the teens Fahrenheit) and no outside wind door that whenever a new customer or delivery pickup driver came in, a rush of freezing cold air also came in. It was quite chilly inside the restaurant for that reason and I had to eat with my jacket on. However that didn't detract from the tasty momos, and I'll certainly be back! read more

I absolutely love Momo Crave. The staff is amazing--they give off a warm vibe and are always welcoming people with a smile. I've been to this store so many times now that it feels like home. The momos are so tasty, and my favorite is the Tandoori Momo! Their chicken chili is very flavorful--the meat is tender and the fried peppers and onions are a great touch! There is still a lot that I want to try from this place, but I don't want to gatekeep, so go ahead and give this place a shot! I do want to say that I wasn't very fond of the Jhol Momo, but that's because the soup base is an acquired taste. It's a Nepali style soup base, and if you'd like to give it a try, you can. I was in Jackson Heights yesterday and wanted to get some Momos and saw that Momo Crave is very popular. Went there and saw lots of different momo platters. Decided to go with the main dish of steamed chicken momos. Comes in 10 for $10.99. Also got chicken fried rice for $9.99. Had to wait a while for the food to get ready and decided to use the bathroom in the meantime. The bathroom surprisingly fit my baby stroller even though it was so narrow! I did not need to open the bathroom door or leave my baby unattended outside the bathroom! Anyways, the restaurant was not that crowded on a Saturday afternoon so there were enough seats for me to sit and wait. After some time, I decided to dine in despite the fact that my food was supposed to be takeout. The staff did not complain so I enjoyed my momos and fried rice with my daughter. The momos looked really good and big! Very different than Chinese dumplings that I always get. These momos are round! Also the stuffing tastes different and has some ingredient that stood out in my mouth! The Kathmandu sauce added some flavor although I like to enjoy the momos without any sauce so you can taste it raw without any added flavors. The sauce tasted kind of like subtle peanut sauce. However, the momos were really good! I chowed them down really fast! The fried rice was pretty good too. Lots of peas and carrots apart from the chicken. Chicken was so tender that I can slice the long pieces into bits with my spoon. That's how tender they are. You don't even need a sharp knife! Rice was basmati rice and very long grain! I came to Momo Crave excited to finally try jhol momos for the first time. The dish came out very picturesque: a bowl of steamed dumplings swimming in a vibrant, creamy-looking sauce. Flavor-wise, the jhol was tangy, sesame-heavy, and had a nutty richness vaguely reminiscent of Fujianese ban mian 拌面 - which, admittedly, isn't my favorite. If you're a fan of those earthy, peanut-y, slightly sharp flavors, you might really enjoy it. For me personally, it just wasn't quite my thing. Located near Purple Dough, this compact Queens restaurant is a highlight for its creative and super customisable momo menus. The tandoori and sandeko momos are especially good--particularly, the skewered and roasted variations--and the potato chili makes a fine side. Jackson Heights is the capital of momos, the Tibetan dumplings. Momo Crave is on the fringe of it, just 2-3 blocks away, on the other side of BQE. The exterior is very unassuming, but it does have a nicely made signage. The interior is pleasant, with small tables along the perimeter, leaving the center of the space unobstructed. Good feng-shui I might say. Walls are decorated with random framed posters and art, some are rather whimsical. The bathroom sign says "Pee Pee Room". Yes, someone has a sense of humor indeed. This being a fusion restaurant, the menu is fun and interesting; but simple and not overwhelming at the same time because it specializes on momos. And all of them are very affordably priced, come with 8 pieces. You really can't go wrong with any. You order and pay at the counter first, and they bring the dishes to your table. Here were our orders (PS. the menu prices are cash prices. The prices reference below are credit card prices): Chilli Momo $12.47. The momos are in their traditional dumpling form, fried I believe, and coated with chilli sauce. Sauce wasn't very spicy, a bit tangy and felt a bit heavy. Good. Tandoori Momo $12.47. Round momos on skewers. This is a nice fun take on momos. Also good. Thai Soup Momo $11.99. Momos are shaped like the Chinese soup dumplings and served over Thai curry soup. This was my favorite. The fragrance of lemongrass accentuated the dish, and the light curry provided the abundance of moist for every bite. I had this spot bookmarked for so long. There were so many different types of momos and all of them sounds so convincing that it was hard to pick. We settled for the fried momo and Thai soup momo. We ordered at the counter when entering and they bring it to the table. The fried momo had a nice light crispy texture. However, the momo were so salty. The sauce also didn't do very much. The Thai soup momo were delicious. I really like the lemongrass in the soup. The only downside was the momo got stuck to the paper bowl. I usually suck up the juicy goodness, but couldn't with this one, but I enjoyed the broken pieces like noodles. The shop is really bright and carefree. It is self serve and I really like that, no pressure at all. The bathroom sign and shop sign on the shop adds a nice simple and humorous touch. A long pending review for this place! I had visited Momo Crave while visiting New York last Christmas break. And may I say, my friends and I were obsessed with this place. So much so that sometimes, the agenda of the day was to catch a bus, and 2 subway just to eat momo here :) Starting with the place.. its decent, not too small or big (from NY standard). The ambience is tasteful (few artwork on the wall) and the place is clean. We usually found seating immediately. The staff was courteous and the service was damn fast, Between the four of us, we would devour the incoming momo plates within minutes. Absolutely loved the tandoori chicken momo!! It was good, but it def wuda been better if it was more warm. A mandatory spot on a Jackson Heights food tour -- there are a few momo spots in the area, but this one is great. It's a casual vibe with a decent amount of seating. We are on a mission to try all the momo places in Jackson Heights to find what we think is the best momo. It seems like every place offers a different interpretation of momo so it really comes down to personal preference. This place is more of a casual store that focuses on momo only. They have so many different options you can go traditional and get the original steamed momo or be adventurous and get something unique like taco momo. We ended up with the original steamed momo and the pan fried chili momo which were recommended by the cashier as his top #1 and #2 options. They were both delicious and very different but I have a slight preference for the original steamed momo as it's more juicy. Don't be intimidated by the spicy sign next to the options if you can't tolerate hot spice. The chili momo was not spicy at all but more so saucy. I would have preferred if their momos were bigger so their filling can be juicier. They were just kind of hard. Their Jhol Momos were better, but I had better elsewhere. Not as flavorful. I love Momo Crave anytime I've dined in and gotten takeout but this review is for their frozen momos. Unfortunately all of them were stuck together which inevitably led to them falling apart the minute I put them to boil. On top of that, the chicken momos did not taste like the chicken momos I've had here before. There was a lot of stuffing in them that was clearly not chicken. Absolutely delicious! We stopped in for a quick bite before a Mets game and were impressed by the portions of everything we ordered. The dining area is pretty small and chill; it's a counter service spot, but our food was delivered to the table. We came in the late afternoon when the restaurant wasn't too busy, so our order came out quickly. The chaat momos were really tasty with the yogurt base. The hot and sour soup was slightly different than any I've had before, containing peas and carrot, but very flavorful and satisfying. And of course there was plenty of chili oil to add to every dish! I have tried so many momos from the annual momo crawl to trucks and different restaurants outside and inside of queens and honestly this is one of the most balanced place in terms of how good each momo is! Upon entering is a nice little casual cafe vibe and had enough room to seat 6 people on most of the tables! Most tables were 4 seaters with two people taking up the space but there's a lot of room so no worries on the wait list. We got the chow mein, chili momo and the dipping momo! The chow mein came out first along with mango lassi and the chili momo. Reminds me a lot of chinese food since we have sweet and sour pork but this one is momo and not sweet! I like how it wasn't that spicy but had such strong flavor and was delightfully crispy! I kept wanting more! This one paired really well with chowmein since the chow mein was flavorful but not overbearing so this was a great side to have. The dipping momo came out much later but honestly was my favorite. The sauce wasn't as spicy as typical Nepalese momo and I love that because sometimes it's so spicy I can't even finish it. But this place is lower on the spicy level so I appreciate that! The momos were so juicy and I was so in heaven after this meal. You can have an option of beef chicken or veg for your momo. This review is long overdue. Momo Crave's Chaat Momos are hands down my favorite momo of all time. I've had a few different varieties of momos here over several visits and they are always perfect. I have also tried the chaat momos in all three varieties, vegetarian, chicken, and beef. All the momos are perfect every time. They are never overcooked, they are a nice bite or two bite size momo with a skin that's neither too thick and doughy like other momos nor too thin to hold together like a soup dumpling. The filling to wrapper ratio is just right. The fillings and sauces of whatever variety you are getting are so flavorful and the sauce to dumpling ratio is always just right as well. This is a hole in the wall place, so the only thing to keep in mind is plan ahead because momos are best fresh imho. This is a fast casual place, you order at the counter and then pick up your food, then you leave the tray in the designated locations when done. I didn't find it special and it was also kind of dry. Chilli momo (beef)- These were great! The flavors very much remind me of Chinese chilli chicken found in Sagar restaurant or any Desi Chinese restaurant, but of course this time it's beef. The momos are fried but that's ok. Himalayan momo (beef with dipping sauce) - These were good too! It's very similar to the Nepali momos I have at Merit Kabab Palace. The dipping sauce served is similar to their orange/yellow sauce. The price point was a bit more expensive than Merit Kebab, but maybe that was because I ordered online. I think if I'm in the area again, I will go for their chilli momos. read more

The chaat momo's sauce was delicious but the momo themselves were lacking flavor, if it wasn't drenched in the sauce, it'll have no taste at all.
