I've been seeing Dr. Liat Solomovici for several years now for eye exams and glasses and am very pleased with the level of service and friendliness in her office. She is warm and friendly and kind. She keeps my historical files and always ensures to check on them during my annual exams, which I appreciate. Her equipment is a little old but very well maintained, and I am glad that she keeps them in great working order, as I know what to expect and am familiar with how to use the equipment because she keeps it the same. There was a problem recently with one of my orders which was incorrectly fulfilled by the lens vendor (I requested Transitions but the lens vendor failed to make it with Transitions) and they ensured to get it redone properly. Although I wish that they had checked the prescription first, instead of asking me to come in and then find out that the glasses were made wrong, they handled it very professionally. Dr. Solomovici is usually booked out 3 months or so due to her popularity and loyal client base, so ensure to schedule an eye exam many months in advance. Her office is small and has a tight parking lot but has a good variety of frames to choose from. I like plastic frames and she tends to have a lot of those, which is something I like. Get your eyes checked by Dr. Solomovici and head next door for some Popeyes chicken when you're done. read more

I came in and was asked to wait and after waiting for 10-15 minutes another client walked in, and this Hispanic technician was very polite and offered immediate assistance, I confronted her and she asked me again to wait, then she told me it would be a very long time before anyone could assist me, she than told me if I wanted to leave, I could just leave and that she would call me back on another day, incredibly hard to believe this happened. I decided to leave but never to return. Dr. Solomovici is good, really good and caring however, a technician there is horrible, extremely rude, judgmental and discriminates. This is my first time writing a yelp review and this is only because I felt extremely discriminated at her facility, as long as this technician is there I would never go back and would not recommend this facility to anyone, especially when the discrimination happens against your own race. It's sad because Dr. Solomovici is a very good doctor and now she will be losing 3 clients. She did try to make things right by being apologetic and offering me discounts, but I could not trust a place with this type of personnel in the office, SAD. read more

I'd add another 5 star review for Doctor Solomovici and Woodside Optometry. She's wonderful, everything you want a doctor to be: caring, pays attention, remembers things about your care and you as a person, works with your insurance company, makes suggestions that are good for you AND saves you money. Helped me treat a pesky and persistent eye infections quickly! Their selection of glasses are good and reasonably priced. I found her for me and my daughter last year and went back again this year and will continue to use her, with or without insurance coverage. I will add that we are both glasses and contacts lens wearers and I'm now also old enough to need reading glasses. read more

BEST service...BEST optometrist around! I've been to numerous optometrists and ophthalmologists in my 50+ years. Dr. Solomovici is hands-down the best I've ever experienced. She has treated our family of 10 for the past 15+ years. My only regret is having never 'yelped' how wonderful she is up until now when I had some time during this crazy covid virus. She is constantly staying on top of the latest advanced research, studies and issues impacting eyesight. She asks good questions about things that may be going on in my life that may affect eyesight issues. She takes time to listen. She demonstrates compassion and empathy for our family (and for her clients in general). And she doesn't rest until the contacts or glasses are a great fit. Her staff have always been 100% responsive and quick to help with scheduling, etc. I noticed a recent negative review and suspect it's related to a period of time when the manager, Dianne, left and transitioning new staff coming in. I'd bet my 15 yrs experience against anyone who says Dr. Liat is not the best optometrist around. Because, she simply is the BEST and we are all grateful for her! read more

I found Dr. Solomovici by Yelp and I came back from her exam a happy patient. I came with an interesting eye problem that Dr. Solomovici carefully and thoroughly examined. She was careful to explain the things she was testing and observing. Due to the issue at hand, I left the office a bit upset and within one hour, she had followed up with me to let me know some of the information and resources she found out for my situation. I came in the following morning to pick up the report for my referral. I was surprised that I saw the Doctor herself and she did additional tests to see the difference from the day before. She was genuinely concerned for me and looked out for my best interests with the entire process. She went above and beyond and I am so pleased she is close by. read more

After my horrible eye exam experience with an optometrist who didn't accept my insurance as a VISION plan, but only as a MEDICAL plan, I had to find another clinic I could order my contact lenses from. The list of providers is very short with United Health, so I was worried I'd get screwed again. Fortunately, I found great reviews with Dr. Solomovici's office. Although I never met Dr. Solomovici, her staff is extremely friendly and efficient. I drove down to thier clinic on Monday to order my lenses from San Mateo. They suggested that they can have my lenses shipped directly to my address so I wouldn't have to go through the drive again. THREE days later my box of lenses came in. I've never experienced getting my lenses that quick even when I was purchasing them from LenCrafters (and you still had to come by their offices to pick them up)! Great customer service, quick shipment of lenses, accepted my insurance - no probelm, worthy of receiving my 5-star review! read more

I've been going to Dr. Solomovici for about 4 years now. I have had very positive experiences. The office staff is pleasant and the Dr. is very personable and helpful. She has been working with my prescription for a couple of years now to try and give me the best result. I never feel like she's trying to sell me the 'latest greatest' of anything- she just recommends what she thinks is best. When she changes my contact lens prescription, she sends me home with free samples to last about a week to try it out. I haven't had any serious eye issues that she's had to solve, nor do a know a whole lot about optometry (though I've been using them for just over 30 years), so I'm not able to really say she's "the best", but I'm very happy with her and would recommend her to my friends and family. read more

When it comes to optometrists, Dr. Liat is top notch--by far the best optometrist I've ever been to. A few points of differentiation for Dr. Liat: - Extremely detailed approach to eye checkups. From start to finish, Dr. Liat was running me through a gauntlet of tests, from the eye puffer test for glaucoma to checking and rechecking (after dilation) the health of my optic nerve. Her 20 years of experience in this field shows, and she has all the right gear to be as comprehensive as possible. She was a no-nonsense doctor that was honest with her diagnoses, recommendations and didn't try to upsell me on any unnecessary product or service. She's a genuinely good person and an excellent doctor - Very clean facilities, organized and neat. I was going in for glasses and contacts, and the store carried a wide selection of frames and lenses. Through my insurance, the bulk of the cost was covered--they offer ultra-thin, high-index lenses with a tough anti-reflective/anti-glare coating. I wanted top of the line for everything, and only had to pay ~$100 out of pocket for $500 glasses - Good coordination between doctor and staff. They called me a day in advance to confirm. Dr. Liat was available at the time I scheduled, so I didn't have to wait. Also, they offered me an option to have a postcard sent out to remind me of my next appointment next year The bottom line is that having a good optometrist is key to having great vision and healthy eyes. Despite many optometrists touting their wide selection of designer frames/accessories and contacts (which are all commoditized), a great doctor is where the real value to the patient lies. I've been to doctors in the past who've gotten the prescription wrong, resulting in eye fatigue, headaches and vision that was less than optimal. Dr. Liat will not disappoint read more

Dr. Solomovici is awesome. Her prices are great for contacts and visits. Most importantly, she is very caring and goes way beyond the call of duty. During my pregnancy, I broke out one morning with Bells Palsy on the side of my face and it affected my eye. It was half closed and wouldn't close or open the whole way. I called her in tears. She took me right away and gave me ideas of what to do. She then followed up with me like 3 times over the next week. No charge. It cleared up in 2 weeks and the prognosis was about 3 months. I give her the credit for taking me right away and her for advice. Her staff is great too. Very friendly and keep great records. read more

Its nice to have the opportunity to write a review about good service. Usually I am more inclined to 'yelp' about terribly bad service or products. Dr. Solomovici is one of the best providers in health care I've ever met. I've had OD's that went out of business and took my money and not return it, ones that struggled to find a good fit for my prescription problem, and one that I liked but shared an office and could only see me in the evenings! So I've been searching for years to find an OD that I can go back to year after year and I've finally found one. Just remember - Dr. Solomovici's office is closed on Wednesdays. read more

Very mediocre optometry office. Dr. Liat checks a man's eyes in the front area and knocks out his contact lens. The 2 girls up front and the doctor are crawling around for the contact. Then she tells him that it would probably be too dirty and he needs to order another. She made me wait for over 2 weeks for an appointment even though I had broken my glasses. Then she guaranteed that she would check to make sure the prescription was correct when i got my new glasses. Not so, I called and stopped in and waited and her response was that come back in 6 months if you're still having problems. Ouch! She milked my insurance and didn't provide professional service. read more

After getting my eyes checked and not being completely satisfied with the prescription eye glasses I got somewhere else, I decided to try this place, since they take my insurance. I came and meet Dr. Solomovici, she is such a sweet lady, she took her time with me and really listened to my concerns. She did everything she could to fix my issue. After another year I returned to get another eye exam and new glasses. Dr. Solomovici is simply the best. I originally was under her care when she was the optomotrist at the local Costco. I never had had such a thorough exam! I was so disappointed when she left to open up her current practice. BUT, just this year my insurance coverage changed, and now she is one of my providers. She not only provides great eye exams and care, but has a fantastic selection of glasses and contacts. With my eyes, contacts are very difficult to find that are comfortable and provide good vision. She is also so helpful in answering all my questions. She cleared up a LOT of misunderstandings I had about some of my specific vision issues. Dr. Solomovici has been professionally persistent to find the best lenses for me. (AND, my new glasses are wonderful as well!) I can't imagine going anywhere else for my eye care--or my families! Was referred to this doctor by very satisfied family members and am honestly glad they have had such good experiences with her. But because I rely on yelp so much, I felt compelled to share my experience at attempting my first appointment: As of yesterday evening, I didn't get an appointment confirmation call, so started to think I had made a mistake about the date. I didn't get a call this morning either, but because I had waited 3 weeks to get an appointment with her, I decided to try to go to the 9:45am appointment 15 minutes early, and find out if I was actually on their books. When I arrived, the person behind the desk had her coat on and seemed a bit frazzled. When I tried to explain that I didn't get a confirmation call and was wondering if I had an appointment, she didn't look at me and just said "we were swamped, fill out these forms". Because she didn't seem to look at an appointment book of any kind, I said I was still wondering if I actually had appointment because I didn't get a confirm call. She said "I'm the doctor, and we were swamped!!!. Just fill out the form and I'll get you started as soon as I can!" I guess she was short staffed, and in a bad mood. She just seemed so annoyed with me from the get go. As I was filling out the paper work, I realized having an annoyed person examining my eyes was probably not a good idea and told I her so She was not gracious upon hearing this. So I left. I just wonder why when I arrived, she didn't just say, "so sorry we didn't get to our appointment confirmation calls, thanks for coming in early to check and please fill out the paper work." read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Solomovici on the recommendation from a friend. Dr. Solomovici is professional, friendly and efficient. I arrived a few minutes early and was at first concerned that I would have to wait for a while because she seemed to have quite a few patients, but I was seen within a few minutes of my scheduled appointment. Like most people, I am not crazy about doctor visits but this was absolutely painless. Dr. Solomovici took time to explain what she was doing and why. I spend most of my time at work reading and looking at a computer screen and I can finally get through the day without my eyes feeling really tired. Apparently, all I needed were glasses specific for the long hours I spend on the computer. I am so glad I went. Dr. Solomovici is my doctor from now on. Tip: Ask Dr. Solomovici's assistant Diana to help you choose a frame from their extensive selection. She has a great eye (no pun intended) and I am really pleased with the pair I got. read more
