Very disappointed. Stopped in for lunch. Jamaican Jerk Chicken Soup was bland. No spiciness whatsoever. I also ordered the Chicken Bruschetta Panini. Instead of panini, it was served on a type of grilled toast. The chicken was dry, there was almost no cheese, almost no bruschetta, and I couldn't see or taste any fresh basil. I would have brought it to the attention of my waiter, but he didn't stop by to see if everything was okay. The chips were tasty, but salty enough that a soda refill would have been appropriate. You guessed it, waiter didn't offer a refill. Additionally, I had to go to the bar to get and pay my check. There were only a total of nine folks having lunch while I was there, so the lack of waiter attention was puzzling. Nothing special about the ambiance. read more

After a heavy night of celebrations I just wanted to grub out. This spot was perfect. Started off with the Thai peanut wings. The wing sauce had excellent flavor and I'll definitely get them again. I also ordered the "shilly" burger. It was cooked exactly how requested and the toppings blended very nicely. Though I didn't consume libations, they seemed to have plenty. The only reason for a 4/5 is the quality of the wings. They were a tad small for the price. read more

Went there one afternoon with my daughter who was in the mood for a burger. I have visited once or twice years ago and suggested we stop in. Mistake. Both burgers were well under cooked. We asked for well done and they were bloody. Fries were previously frozen and unseasoned. I ordered a simple iced tea. Was just brown water. My daughter a cheesecake expert who never passes a cheesecake she wouldn't try passed on theirs. We both left depressed and slightly nauseous. On the brighter side our server was pleasant. Hadn't been here in probably 5+ years after having some below avg previous experiences. Had a coupon and decided it was time to give Liberty another try but unfortunately things were no different. The food was just so-so. I had Nashville Chicken sandwich that spouted oil when I took a bite. There was a tiny little bit of sauce that tasted like bbq sauce from a jar and chicken breast was fried too long and was very dry inside. Also, there was nothing spicy or hot or "Nashville" about it and the roll was double the size of the breast. Just very blah. My wife had a burger that also was just ok, a notch below Five Guys, and nothing you can't get at Sonic, etc. We shared a batch of onion rings that weren't much better than those from your local grocery store frozen food aisle. We really wanted to like Liberty. It's local and a nice enough place (if a bit loud) but it's a bar first, I guess, which clearly is their meal ticket. Food is probably an afterthought. Good thing is the beer was cheap for happy hour...and then there was that $5 coupon! Won't be back, even in 5 more years. read more

South jersey Italian girl Here and I come from a very foodie town. Moved up here a year or so ago and this is the best local place we have eaten since we got here! My husband and I stopped in with our 16-year-old son who never likes anything new. Every dining experience is plagued with eye rolls and typical teenage "I don't wanna be here" stuff.. Well that changed when his American burger came. He is a very picky eater but loved the garlic aïoli that he doesn't know was garlic aïoli.. He doesn't like condiments on his burgers. No ketchup no mustard he's straight lettuce and onion kind of guy. OK so we Left the tomato off. His frown turned upside down. My husband is a connoisseur of mozzarella sticks. He absolutely loves them. These were the best he'sEVER tasted outside of my own kitchen. (He better say that!) He also had the prime rib Mac and cheese. He inhaled it.. loved it. I had the prime rib sandwich and it was very tender, very delicious. We got an order of nachos for the table. They were thin and crispy But somehow they held up to all the cheese and toppings that were plentiful! So here I am on a Friday night placing my pick up order for round two.. The boys are getting the same as when we dined in, but I'm venturing out a bit with the chicken burrito. Can't wait! Oh and I almost forgot to mention our food came out very quickly our waitress was great and the price for three people was extremely reasonable! read more

Liberty is a great local brew house featuring many local and other micro brews. Staff is always pleasant and welcoming food is very consistent and much batter than what you might expect at an "ale house" I particularly like the mussels in white wine garlic sauce, burgers are really good and very creative. Lobster grilled cheese is a super choice if your in the mood for a very rich sandwich. We frequent Liberty very often as it's always a winner. read more

I love the variety of beer and they offer a different menu than anywhere else around here. We typically sit at the bar. Staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. The ramen bowl is my favorite! I absolutely loved this place. The servers were fantastic. They were both friendly and on top of everything. The decor in the restaurant was fabulous. It looked like they made old steam engine valves and regulators into wall lamps. For lunch we started with hot wings. I was thinking about getting the xxx hot wings but decided to get the hot instead. I wish I had ordered the xxx because the regular hot were a little too mild for me but they were still excellent. I'm not positive but I think they may cost them in a thin dusting of flour to get them crisp. The flavor was fantastic. After the wings, I had a lunch special which was 1/2 sandwich and soup. The sandwich was a B.A.L.T (the "A" is avocado). Great sandwich. Thick slices of bacon, nice juicy tomatoes, cris, fresh lettuce and several slices of ripe avocados It was a really large 1/2 sandwich. My soup was jerk chicken soup cooked in a coconut milk base. That was seriously out of this world. The perfect amount of heat. I could have eaten an entire pot. Great place. read more

One of the better craft beer bars in the area. Checks all the boxes for great food and beer, and has a fun and knowledgeable bar staff.

Went for lunch here today and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was friendly. The service was quick and our orders came out perfectly. Best of all...the food tasted great! Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant is very clean and has ample parking. I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Jeez...where to begin. First living in Shillington since 2007 and having been in the previous bar that occupied this spot...I didn't have high hopes for this location. Driving home from work one day...saw the Liberty sign and got excited. The taproom in Mt Penn had been one of my go to spots and having a location I can walk to would be awesome . First, the decor is awesome. Has a cool vibe and feels like a hometown pub. The staff is hit or miss, but like most bars there seems to be high turnover. Most of the servers are pretty good , and if there is a mistake getting it fixed isn't too difficult . There are really knowledgeable bartenders here, and they usually can tell you what to order if you are undecided. So the beer, it is a bar after all. The beer list is phenomenal. 23 taps , only two are 'non craft' , prices are typical as are pour sizes for craft beer. They also fill crowlers(32 oz cans) of beer to go at very reasonable prices. They also have a solid cooler full of beer available to drink in house or to go. So.. the beer is awesome, the decor is great, and overall the staff is good. So far so good...well it only gets better. The food is top notch. I've never ordered something on the menu and been disappointed. The specials are always good, and usually very unique (the PBJ burger for example). Everything comes out fresh and nothing seems to be frozen. Wednesday is AYCE wings, the sauce selection is great and their flavor of the week is usually top notch as well. Sunday brunch is also awesome here as if you time it right you can be in and out before the football crowd rolls in. Overall this is the kind of place we needed in the area! read more

This is a great little spot I found after a visit to the nearby hospital. The service and food were on point , and it was a nice looking place inside with solid music playing. We had the following - Fish and chips - very good. Buffalo chicken grilled cheese- very good. Brussels sprouts- very good French onion soup- very good. The only thing that could be improved here is their cheese sauce. It was completely tasteless and cheap as hell. read more

The server had good suggestions and was knowledgeable about the many beers on tap. The menu was not expensive but there were enough choices to certainly plenty to appeal to everybody. I had read Yelp reviews about their lobster cheese sandwich. The bread was great and the cheese was great. The lobster had good texture, but absolutely no taste at all. Couldn't even tell it was lobster. The popular shaved brussel sprouts dish was the same; the cheese and bacon topping were delicious, but I couldn't taste the flavor of the brussel sprouts. Maybe the lobster and brussel sprouts, being expensive ingredients had been frozen for a while prior to being cooked. This place is a bit louder than average-the music is loud, and as you often see in restaurants that are more bar than restaurant, there are always a couple of patrons whose conversations are so loud, you can understand every word they are saying even though they are seated across the room. It's clean and attractive, and it is a great place to take noisy children. read more

My friend and I gave this place a go on Friday afternoon for lunch. Best idea ever! We were quickly greeted by the friendly bartender. We sat out on the patio which isn't huge but super nice. Our server was Brent and he was awesome! Very nice, very knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive to our needs. The food came out super hot and delicious. We split everything we ordered so we could taste more. We got the Ale House fries (amazing). We also got the panini with the beef. One of the best sandwiches ever! The wings were delicious as well.
