First off I would like to say our server Ava was great. Very knowledgeable and took great care of our table of 4 last Sunday @ 5:30 . Now for the food. Two of us ordered the steak tip dinner. When the plates arrived we had to laugh. If it not for the mashed potatoes the plate would have been empty as the steak tips were so small and so few . I'm not someone who usually thinks to eat at a restaurant in a shopping area, but after 2 spectacular dining experiences I am looking forward to coming back for more of that PB bacon app and the sweet chili chicken, those mashed potatoes and hanger steak! Not to mention the cocktails! The dining space is gorgeous, warm and inviting. Relaxed, but with high end details, like the stunning floor tile and the table scapes. Here's what I tried so far: Cocktails: the cocktails are awesome, very well done and balanced ( not too sweet or tart) I had the well rested, and my friend had the mother brook, both good. I preferred the well rested. PB bacon- unexpectedly fantastic mixture of textures and flavors (salty, smoky, decadent bacon, with the sweet and salty PB and jelly, and a touch of zing and fresh from the jalapenos, apples and micro greens) Tuna tartare- I loved the tuna, avocado and nori- could have done without the rice tbh. Hanger steak frites- the steak is a highlight here and the fries are great. Don't even think about ordering it anything other than rare/medium rare as you would miss out on the melt in your mouth meat with the crunchy fries as a contrasting texture. BBQ steak tips and mashed potatoes- the sauce is pretty good, more spicy than sweet and the potatoes are creamy. The hanger steak was better IMHO, but this was still a great dish. Sweet chili chicken sandwich- WOW my favorite thing on the menu so far: the chicken was crispy, the slaw and sauce sweet tangy, sweet and crunchy. Even the bread was buttered and delicious. Came with thick cut fries that were sooo good (crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside) I think this is a good value of a meal for $16 for the quality. Creamed corn creme brulee- OMG the subtle sweet flavor of the corn and creaminess of the custard was incredible! Like dessert, for dinner :) Speaking of dessert: The S'mores mousse dessert was amazing! The chocolate mousse was good, but the star of the show were the accoutrements (graham cracker crumbles, marshmallow fluff and toasted mini meringue cookies!) I would go back for this dessert, and I don't even love desserts usually. My friend ordered the cheesecake pops- also very good, not too sweet you can really taste the cheesecake. My favorite flavor was the almond joy! Well, that's my review- the space is cozy and comfortable the food is really thoughtful and well done- not what you expect at a shopping center! The menu looks real good, but I went there with five other people and 3/5 meals were wrong. The medium rare steak was well done, the medium burger was bright red rare, the Mac n cheese barely had cheese and was mostly breadcrumbs, and the cioppino had hardly any food (he went and got pizza after somewhere else). Nope....nope... very disappointed with portions paid 27.00 for some romaine which had way too much dressing and and piece of salmon literally 2" inch long 1" wide. Overpriced I was shocked I asked the manager and he said it's the side portion which was 9.00. But they charged me 12.00 and 15.00 for a handful of romaine. First impressions are this is a beautiful restaurant that wouldn't look out of place on Newbury Street or in the Seaport. Beautiful decor, very clean lines and open plan makes the restaurant feel modern yet classic at the same time. As for food, we were there for lunch and had a mix of meals, 2 burgers, 1 mac and cheese with steak tips, one chicken sandwich and one steak tip dinner, all were demolished with great gusto! Burger was cooked to perfection with crisp pickles, lettuce, tomato and onion with cheddar or American cheese and was served in a nice soft bun, excellent. The mac and cheese with tips looked delicious and was gone in no time, steak tip dinner was also gone in a flash and both diners commented on the tenderness of the steak tips. The chicken sandwich was fried chicken breast with a hot sauce on a roll and was pretty substantial and was also very well received. The fries are sublime, get them even if your ordering a salad! Service was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive , all in all an outstanding option for lunch, hopefully i can get there for dinner one night as i'm sure it would be just as good. read more

I saw Mike the owner going from table to table embracing his customers making sure everyone was happy & satisfied. Not sure I'll return. Went today for lunch/brunch and service was super slow and inattentive. Food took 40 minutes to come out, eggs Benedict was Luke warm, mushy English muffins with cold cut style ham slices on top and a poached egg yolk (that's basically all that was there with both eggs) they forgot the hollindaise sauce and later brought it over in a separate dish. Top it off with a sprinkling of "homefries" on the side which appeared to be the leftover scraps of the day - not good at all, especially for $19. My friends chicken Caesar salad came out minus the chicken and after almost 15 minutes they finally brought out a tiny side plate of microwaved, grilled chicken pieces. I give 2 stars because the twisted fish tacos had absolutely no flavor in them. I had gotten the fried version and my sister's friend got the grilled version and she mentioned lack of seasoning. I went with it because the waitress said it was a nice portion and good. Can't trust that every waitress knows true flavor. The service was fine. Atleast no complaints there. My first yelp review, which I felt the need to write after reading so many negative ones. My husband, son and I had dinner at Liberty & Main last night, which we almost didn't do based on these reviews. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent; we had the shrimp scampi, chicken saltimbocca and chicken rice bowl. All were cooked perfectly. My husband had beer and I had wine; no complaints. We made reservations in advance, which I'm glad we did as it got quite busy there as the night went on. We would definitely go back. read more

I brought my nephew in after a day of shopping. Christine was amazing! He didn't like the fries (they tasted like they had sat for a bit), and she noticed he wasn't eating them. She asked him why. validated his reaction, took them away, apologized, and brought him a fresh batch. She even came back to make sure they were ok. He was so impressed with the service. I was there Saturday night and the place was jamming. It was great to see that life is finally coming back. Great vibe. As soon as we sat down, the staff was right there to take our drinks. We also ordered the Tuna Boat and the BB Wings. Both came out timely and they were very good. For my entree I had the steak tips and they were cooked to exactly the way I requested. The meal came out a little slow (not that we noticed). The staff came over to apologize and to let us know on the timing. Everything was really fine. First of all we were having a great time and really appreciated the staff to let us know what is happening. Second of all we all have to learn some patience in our post Covid era. I've been there twice and it's ok. Service has always been good. The food is okay honestly I've had a burger the two times I've been there. This time the stuffed clams had not even a taste of clam - the burger was okay but it's pretty hard to screw up a burger. The shock came when the bill arrived and four dollars was added for ice in the two vodka on the rocks. I have never heard of anything like that in my life. Atmosphere is cozy and nice. However, menu options are extremely limited. If you are vegetarian, your only options are Mac and cheese or a caesar salad sans the meat. Food is overpriced and dishes do not come with veggie sides other than potatoes. My house potato chips were stale. Server barely shrugged when it was mentioned and no discount was offered. The value for the food is extremely off balance. As others have mentioned. Inflated prices for mediocre food and portion sizes. I order a Caesar salad with a topping of salmon. The cut of salmon was from the thinnest portion of the filet and further more was the the size of a 5 year old child's hand. So for a a price of $27 I was given a bowl of romaine lettuce, a few shavings of Parmesan cheese and few croutons that weren't good. The bartender seemed like she wanted to be anywhere we but there. I have had several good meals and excellent evenings @ Liberty & Main, but my last experience compelled me to write this review. The 4 of us had a rezzie for a Sat night at 7:15pm. The place was buzzing, but b/c of our reservation we were seated immediately. We had THE MOST LOVELY waitress ever, who smiled and joked and was very accommodating. We ordered burrata and a few salads to start. For entrees, we ordered the burger (for my daughter), steak, mac and cheese, and chicken with zucchini noodles. All of the food was very good. We also ordered a few martinis, which were well-prepared. Before we knew it, we had spent over 2 hours at our table! We finally packed up leftovers and my hubs and daughter left to play games in the adjacent green area, but my friend and I just kept gabbing away. Eventually the owner came over and politely said that they had a very large party and needed our table, but that he had secured a booth by the bar for us and asked if we could go there to keep chatting. Of course we agreed, and we quickly saw a party of at least 20 move in to our area. Then as we were leaving, the owner came over and again thanked us for moving. This experience was a CLASS ACT! I mean, I'm from NYC and I have been legit physically removed from a table for "staying too long." I mean, the chair ripped from under me. This place knows how to treat their customers. This is our first time visiting the restaurant. I thought it would be fun to have my daughter's birthday celebration there and try out the food. The food was ok except my niece got sick (for 3 days) from eating Pan-seared Togarashi Tuna. Bok-Choy was not washed well. I believe she got food poisoning from the dirt in the vegetables. You could see a lot of dirt in the vegetable after examining the leftover at home. My friend who ordered the same thing also got sick but not as bad as my niece because she only ate the leaves after seeing the dirt. My suggestion to the restaurant is to wash the vegetable very well. The dirt are trapped in the stems and they should soak them in the water and wash well.
