    Tres Leches
    Dee M.

This is the sister cafe of Cocolove in downtown Jackson Hole. We tried their Tres Leches, mocha and lattes. The desserts felt a bit too sweet for our taste and the coffee was average. But the service was great and the ambiance felt like that of a French Pattisiere.

Celebrated my birthday in Jackson last night with family, and the absolute highlight was the cake from Atelier Ortega. It was as beautiful as it was delicious. Made for a really special celebration.

Pastries and confections, Coffee, espresso and tea. Indoor and outdoor seating. Classic espresso drinks. Delicious pan au chocolate. A block south of Broadway, on Scott Lane.

    Whiskey was our favorite

We ordered the Cabernet, whiskey & huckleberry vanilla chocolates. Whiskey was our favorite and we'll be going back for more. Also ordered the flan and it was good.

This place is so good!! My husband and I bought one dozen mini specialty desserts and plated raspberry goodness (with a strawberry macaroon). Out of the specialty desserts, our favorites definitely go to the Passion Fruit and the Pistachio (also, I'll always love their dark chocolate).

    just a box of chocolates.

To say that Atelier Ortega's chocolates are good would be to miss the point. These chocolates are otherworldly: otherworldly in the Platonic sense, meaning each flavor nearly perfectly embodies the flavor from which Oscar Ortega took his inspiration. As Willy Wonka would say, "his snazberries taste like snazberries." With truffles such as Goat Milk Caramel and Cabernet Reduction, he sets the bar pretty high. A friend of ours, a food critic in Jackson known locally as "Crumbs" actually fed-exed a box of these magnificent artisan chocolates to us while we were on our honeymoon. It was that little bit of extra insurance that we would enjoy ourselves. To him and Mr. Ortega I say, "Thank you for making our world a better place." Bottom line: If you're in Jackson Hole, WY you owe it to yourself to stop in to this shop, and if you aren't you should go to his website and see what he will send you. www.atelierortega.com

The ice cream is rich, creamy, and they have a great variety of flavors. I like that they use natural ingredients and no food dye. The huckleberry was my favorite. Portions are generous, and it's the perfect way to end the day after dinner. The flavors are listed on TV screens around the shop which helps you prepare in advance otherwise the samples are great to make final decisions. The owner / manager on duty is terrible at caring for customers. An older lady wearing glasses and a big cross necklace. My sons ice cream was literally flowing down the side of the bowl when they handed it to us, so I asked them to put the smaller bowl into a larger one so we could carry it. She came from across the counter to make sure we were charged $.25 for the extra bowl. Then, our friends little girl was handed her ice cream which immediately fell off the cone because it wasn't pressed down into the cone. The manager literally watched a 5 year old girl's ice cream fall off the the cone, turned her mom and said "I'll have to charge you for another one". Despite what is some of the best ice cream in town, I would never come back and do business with a company that doesn't even have a sense of decent customer service, much less any form of Wyoming hospitality.

The vibe here is super cute and full of character -- I took so many pictures because the decor alone makes this place worth stopping by. We came in with a pretty large group of about 20 Baddies, and even with the crowd, the staff was quick and friendly. Some of our group stayed here while others headed out to eat, but this was the perfect little spot to relax, people watch, and hang out with the locals. They've got pool tables, bar seating on both sides, and round tables if you just want to sit, chat, and enjoy your drinks. Definitely a fun stop while visiting the area! And don't forget to stop by the steakhouse downstairs, unfortunately it wasn't open when we got there but hopefully on our next trip as it opens at 4a d after hiking and up since 2am we didn't wanna wait, but you should!
