This hidden gem tucked inside the Hollywood Roosevelt is an absolute must-visit if you're staying at the hotel--or even if you're just in the neighborhood looking for a truly unique cocktail experience. The Library Bar is small, intimate, and effortlessly cool, with dim lighting, vintage vibes, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and unpretentious. Open Thursday through Sunday evenings, it's the kind of place you want to linger. There's no printed menu--instead, one of their highly skilled mixologists asks you a few thoughtful questions and creates a drink tailored exactly to your taste. It's a personalized, artful experience--and our cocktails were nothing short of spectacular. There's no food served, but that honestly wasn't an issue. This is the perfect spot for a date night or a quiet, elevated way to unwind after a day exploring Hollywood. Our only regret? We didn't make it back for a second visit. If you appreciate craftsmanship in a glass, cozy ambience, and great conversation, Library Bar delivers all of that and more. A true standout.

Great spot hidden away off the lobby of the Roosevelt. Thomas did a fantastic job curating cocktails all night. I had to go back a second night just to see what else he would come up with. If you don't know. There is no menu, you just tell him what you like in terms of favorite cocktails or flavor profiles and he goes to work. The most fun option though is to just roll the dice and let him come up with something. This will definitely be a regular stop when I'm in LA.

Thomas is the best mixologist with great service! Highly recommend if you want a unique drink tailored to your personal taste

I came here with my friend and Thomas hooked it up! He curated drinks to perfection and he was super personable, and fun to chat with. We just let Thomas know our preferred liquor/flavor profiles, and he was able to whip up amazing concoctions. We were staying at the hotel and happened to come across this place, which was quiet, intimate, and a cool speakeasy vibe. We look forward to coming back!

It was an amazing place to go to just to have a chill night out. Went there on a double date and had a great time. Food was good but the cocktails were even better. The bartender was great person with an amazing attitude and fun person to talk to. Definitely recommend for a nice little night out

Peach/Cheesecake flavored drink by Michael the Bartender

Just wanted to say that Michael, the bartender here, is without a doubt the best bartender I've ever encountered. Not to mention, he was super nice and accommodating to my friend and I. Don't get me wrong, I've met bartenders / mixologists who are really good and amazing at what they do, but this guy is on another level; he's so committed to his craft, and the amount of attention to detail is astounding. You will never find a bartender like him, nor will you ever have a drink like this guy can give you. He asked me what kind of dessert I like, so I said cheesecake, and then I also mentioned that I love peaches. so this guy whips out a jar of fermented peaches and made me a peach/cheesecake flavored drink. Without a doubt the best drink I've ever had in my life. Do yourself a favor and go try a drink at this place; the bartender's name is Michael.

If you ever come when Thomas is here you are in treat! He is the best mixologist I have met. Customer service is above anything I have encountered. Great guy!!!

I wandered into this place to kill a little time before a show expecting to get my typical go to- Scotch, neat. Then I see this guy whipping up a cocktail for someone with great intensity. He changed my mind before we even made eye contact. The bartender/mixologist Michael is a genius. The bespoke cocktail he made me was probably the best cocktail I've ever had. I'm dead serious. Show's over, it's just after midnight, just got home, and felt like I needed to give this guy some props before I went to sleep. I highly recommend a visit or two to this tiny, cool, little speakeasy of a bar. This is the way it should be done. Someone meet me here for a drink. You'll see what I mean.

    Middle of the library.

Great burger, great service, and the drinks were delicious. It was not loud but it does have limited space in the book section.

This was the perfect date night spot for my boyfriend and I. We grabbed drinks here before watching Harry Potter at the Pantages theater. Let me tell you.. we had the best time! This bar is unique in that there is menu and drinks are created especially for you according to your pallet. The drinks we had were amazing and we had the best experience with both mixologists. We loved telling them what types of drinks we enjoyed and having them create something unique just for us. The price is most definitely worth it. We both agreed this would be our new spot for a yummy cocktail! I highly recommend if you enjoy yummy cocktails and are open to trying something new.

Michael is by far the most talented bartender we have encountered. His art in cocktail was incomparable, every drink was tailor-made and one of a kind! What an amazing evening.

Talk about a Hollywood gem! Had a profound time at the library speakeasy in the Hollywood Roosevelt! The Hollywood Roosevelt has and always will have a very special place in my heart. When I first visited Los Angeles back in 2021 before moving here, I spent my very first night at this hotel. I was thrilled to hear about the library reopening. I can tell this is going to be my new spot. The bartender Michael went above and beyond. I could feel that he truly make a great effort to make every single guest feel welcomed and like family. The drinks were absolutely incredible. I tried to stop at two, but I kept having more! I just had such a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. That in my opinion is what truly defines a special experience. Can't wait to come back! I'm so grateful that I live so close to this very special gem!

Is it a true speakeasy where a password is required?

No password required, it's a small open room in the back of the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel. No door, just walk in

    Is there food here?

No, not inside the Library Bar, but right across from it inside the hotel is a diner called 25 Degrees, the food is pretty good!

What is the average cost of a drink here?

When I called yesterday, I was told tip is included in the drinks and they are in the $18 range. I will know for sure tonight...

We had to get the Michelada Oysters again because I had been craving them since our last visit. They were just as amazing as I remembered--fresh, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addicting. For Dine LA, I started with the Tostada Campechana, which was like an elevated ceviche with scallops, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, and a citrus sesame sauce. Everything tasted super fresh and the citrus gave it the perfect balance. The Bone Marrow Mole was rich, flavorful, and came with a generous portion and toast. For my main course, I had the skirt steak, which was cooked perfectly--tender, well-seasoned, and delicious with the green sauce. The homemade tortillas were amazing too. The restaurant really does feel tucked away once you get inside the Rodeo Collection. The space has warm lighting, colorful details, and a playful Mexican-inspired look that makes dinner feel fun without becoming over-the-top. We started with guacamole and empanadas before moving on to tacos. The Baja Style Fish Tacos were a favorite, with crisp fish, fresh slaw, and chipotle aioli. I also had the Grilled Prime New York Taco, and the steak was cooked really well and stayed tender. With the caramelized onion, guacamole, and salsa fresca, it had plenty of flavor without feeling overloaded. Between those two, we were already very happy with our taco choices, and there wasn't much left on the table by the end. The cocktails were excellent. My friend's drink came served in this ceramic donkey, and we immediately became a little obsessed with it. We loved it enough that the donkey somehow ended up making an appearance in half our photos by the end of the night. Our server checked in throughout dinner and gave us plenty of time to enjoy everything without ever making us feel rushed. We finished with churros, which arrived with dipping sauces and were a very easy decision once dessert was mentioned. They also offer valet, which is especially convenient for a Rodeo Drive dinner. I went in because Instagram kept putting The Hideaway in front of me. For once, my feed was useful. I'd happily come back for the tacos, cocktails, and another round with that donkey making its inevitable cameo.

There were four of us, and the restaurant wasn't very busy, there were plenty of open tables and what seemed like a good amount of staff. When we were first seated, we were given the regular menu. Once we mentioned that we were there for the Girls Brunch, it honestly felt like the demeanor toward our table changed. The service was extremely slow. We waited around 30 minutes between some of the food items, our drinks were forgotten, and we were rarely checked on throughout the meal. I'm usually pretty understanding when restaurants are busy or short-staffed, but that didn't seem to be the case during our visit. Between the long waits, forgotten drinks, and lack of even a simple "How is everything?", the experience became frustrating, especially since we were there to celebrate birthdays. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were mediocre as well, so the overall experience just didn't feel worth the time. I really wanted to enjoy this place and the Girls Brunch seemed like such a fun idea, but based on our experience, I unfortunately won't be returning.

We were honestly falling asleep waiting for the actual entertainment to begin. The entire night felt chaotic from the moment we arrived. You spend time getting dressed up, planning a date night, driving downtown, and trying to be excited for the experience, only to park in a dark lot with feces and urine in the stairway. It was scary and disgusting. We looked past the parking lot situation because we were excited to enjoy our night out, but unfortunately the experience only got worse from there. The waitress kept pushing us to order more items, which made the whole night feel like a money grab. The food was absolutely embarrassing and nothing like what was advertised in the gallery photos on the website. It honestly felt like it came straight from Costco. Other reviews mentioned food being served on paper plates, and we can confirm that we experienced that too. The slice of pizza was literally Costco pizza. The pizza and snacks were cheap, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect for the price. It really makes you wonder how many people feel misled by that kind of advertising. There was also a complete lack of control and management. People who did not pay for reserved seating were hovering nearby, ready to take your seat the second you got up to use the restroom or go to the dance floor. We saw multiple people weasel their way into reserved lounge and table areas on the ground floor. At one point, a couple was even going through someone's fur coat and looked close to taking belongings before the actual couple returned. That alone says a lot about the environment and lack of security. The billing situation made it even worse. The waitress quickly skipped through the itemized receipt, which made it easy to miss that a 20% tip had already been included. We ended up tipping on top of the included gratuity and only realized it afterward. At that point, we felt completely scammed. We spent over $300, and the overall experience and management were absolutely not worth it. To be fair, some of the acts were great and the band was great. Separate from that, everything else was as mentioned. Between the deceptive billing, weak drinks that barely seemed to have alcohol, the delayed start, boring dance lessons, embarrassing food, poor seating control, and lack of management, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend reserving seats, drinking at this event, or buying their food.
