    Chips and salsa!
    Bruce M.

First time here and had an amazing experience. We were seated quickly at the bar so we could have couple cocktails. The bar has soft fun music playing in the background. The bar is fancy and the bartenders know how to create anything. Loved our drinks. When you sit the chips and salsa are a great free touch!!! We will definitely come back and try dinner next time.

Great dinner spot for groups on East 6th. The Verduras tacos are vegan as-is, and very good! The drinks are just okay, but the overall vibe is lively.

Every time we go down to ATX we make it a priority to stop by at Licha's and it never disappoints! The service, food, and ambiance are unbeatable. While Tex-Mex is often confused for true Mexican food, there is no comparison at Licha's! Pulpo con chorizo and the sweet potatoes with goat cheese are delicious authentic dishes. My husband and I brought two other people; my sister, a picky eater was surprised by how much she enjoyed every dish we ordered.

Such a fun, lively spot! I had the Calabacitas quesadillas ( cheesy, fresh, and full of flavor) and paired them with the Chulipin mezcal cocktail, which was smoky, citrusy, and dangerously easy to drink. The patio was buzzing, the music set the mood, and the staff were super friendly.

Chips and Hot Sauces - sauces were hot. Chips tasted like they came from a bag. Best Queso Fundido - it was great. Chorizo was tasty. Patio was popping. Tacos Alambre was a mix bag. Flavor as really good, but meat was over cooked and gristly. The soft corn tortillas and pico de gallo salvaged it.

    Amazing chips & dip

Yummy Oaxacan Food with seemingly handmade masa items. The complimentary chips and dip are incredibly unique and delicious. They resemble creamy, spicy salsa aioli dips. Try it--you won't regret it! :) The chicken mole huarache ($15) was both filling and flavorful. The interior is adorned with lots of biblical decor, which is quite interesting. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was prompt! :)

Overall love the Austin outdoor vibe !! As a Denver Native I am biased because we do have some of the best Mexican food (if you don't believe me come out and taste for yourself). Anywho! The meat was tender and flavored well, however there weren't enough tortillas. Our waiter was amazing and accommodated me with my entree. My advice would be to come and try for yourself and support this business as it seems to be a staple in the area!

The happy hour is so damn good!! 4-7 during the week and drinks and apps are $8! We ordered the Paloma and the Lupita - both delicious but ultimately the Lupita was the favorite - the watermelon tequila is amazing!! We also ordered the cochinita pibil sopecitos, the pastor quesadilla, and the chicken mole huaraches. Our favorites were the quesadilla and the chicken mole huarache - incredible both of them!! We absolutely loved them and had a great time for happy hour. Service was great and food came out quickly, we ate and drank and left in less than an hour! The indoor is very cute - but bring a coat in the winter bc it doesn't seem like their heat was working when we visited and it was a very cold day.

Service was good, the ceviche was the best I've ever had... We also had the Birria tacos and the Caesar... Everything was good... The only thing was the small plates of the grilled octopus... It was giving more potato than it was octopus... Pretty pricey small plate for it to be underwhelming but it's a great location. It's a great outdoor seating area and attentive service... My girlfriend say it's the best margarita as well.

This spot is good, not great! Love the margs and the general vibe-- good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Salsas and queso fundido are good. Main course was okay-- a bit blander than I'd expect. The masa is really filling, though the portion looks small. I'd come back for happy hour, but maybe not for dinner again.

    Mole Con Pollo
    Jennifer N.

Starts off amazing with fresh chips and delicious salsa. Could not get enough of the salsa...I ordered some to go. I normally don't order mole con pollo at a restaurant because it always disappoints but Licha's nailed it! Coming back and staying for a margarita on the patio

Ask the Community - Licha's Cantina

    Do they allow dogs?

I believe so; on the outside patio.

Are dogs allowed on their patio?

    Yes! I've taken mine before

Do they have any kid-friendly items on the menu?

I really think this menu is pretty upscale and non traditional so there is no real "bottom of the menu" or kids section unless the kids like what is on the menu or are used to eating a variety of Mexican foods.

However, on this particular day, I went by the food truck at 3 pm and all their plates were sold out. They only had two pans of seafood broil at $75, which I am told would feed 4 people. The stated hours are to 7 pm. I did not plan to buy food for 4 people...just one. The food truck manager said I should have called first to check to see if they had any plates left. Well, I could have called and so that is totally my bad. However, it is a reasonable expectation that you will not run out plates of food 4 hours before closing. I am going to be less likely to patronize this business in the future.

Because let me tell you right now, Mama'z earned it. It did everything that a 5 start review deserves. First, friendly service, even on a cold rainy day, even if it's a food truck. Service was still there. Second. They give you a FULL container of the food. They didn't skimp on a single thing. Sides, main dish, nothing. In fact they even gave me some extra gravy for free. Third, that first bite makes your mouth want to go tap dancing. You keep eating when you're full because it taste so good . Drop what you're doing and go here. You're welcome.

You can really taste the love that went into all this food. This is a food truck right across from HEB mueller in that swimming pool parking lot. She's only open on the weekends and her food can be ordered on DoorDash but she has more menu items in person than on DoorDash. I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.

She noticed I was ordering dairy items on side and asked about if pesto in guacamole was ok. So astute and kind of her. Also on my friends second drink remembered she didn't want salt or her rim without even asking - Everything tasted so fresh and high quality - Brisket tacos: packed with flavor--maybe it was the wagyu meat or the black magic oil. Freshly made corn tortillas were awesome. Usually corn ones and pretty throwaway meh, but these added to the greatness of the tacos. 5 stars - Duck flautas: crispy covered in mild mole. Loved the mashed potato addition inside for some mellowness and texture. 5 stars - Guacamole: so fresh and that dollop of pesto on top was lovely. Served with crispy masa dippers were impressive almost a 8x11 page size. It was fun to crack off into pieces, but hard to stop eating it. 5 stars - Sweet potato: friend loved these long charred wedges. 4.5 stars - Cocktails were stellar. I got the Don Dario which was a play on a marg and delightful - $12 of a few drinks during lucky hour (Mon-Fri 5-6pm, Sat-Sun 3-5pm) - High energy vibes in a clean, open, tan colored space - Had their bottle water on the table in a champagne bottle which speaks to my heart Midlights: - In East Austin so have to Uber if you are staying more central - Tacos come in orders of 4.
