Nail bed side is not smooth/ covered evenly. I can't believed I paid for this ‍

Wow, do not go to this place. The boss lady "Lien" didn't even listen to what I wanted--she just started applying what she thought was best. When I told her it wasn't the color or design I asked for, she said, "It'll look better later." But it didn't--at all. She also failed to mention there would be extra charges for additional layers, and in the end, I was charged $50 for a color I hated and nails that were honestly poor quality. Her attitude was very forceful and dismissive. She doesn't care to hear feedback or concerns from clients. The hygiene in the salon was terrible--nail dust and polish splatters were everywhere. * The place is sloppy and unsanitary * She over-shaved my nail bed and added extra layers without consent or final pricing * She doesn't listen to clients and just does whatever she wants * If you're unhappy and ask for help, she won't care at all I highly do not recommend this salon--not just because of the money, but because of how I was treated. I feel totally scammed and honestly upset every time I look at my nails. So disappointing.

I came for a manicure, not a medical evaluation and unsolicited body shaming Where do I even start? I came in for a dip powder manicure and a pedicure. Pretty straightforward, right? Well, apparently not. The only person working was the owner, and from the moment I sat down, things got... weird. She looked at my hands and immediately asked if I had eczema. I told her no, but she insisted I do, and that it explains "why my fingers look the way they do." I wasn't aware she had a dermatology degree hanging in the back, but okay, sure. I tried to brush it off. Then it got worse. She grabbed cuticle scissors and began removing what felt like an entire layer of skin from my fingers. I asked her why, and she again said it was because of my "eczema" and that "no other salon would do what I'm doing for you" as if removing my skin was a favor. Still, I stayed hopeful. I asked for short, square-shaped nails with a rounded edge, natural-looking and thin, not thick or bubbly. What I got was the exact opposite. The shape was off, they looked bulky and uneven, and the work was just plain sloppy (I have photos). And just when I thought I could leave quietly, she walked me to the back to wash my hands, casually tossed her leftover lunch in the trash... then asked how much I weigh. Yes, you read that right. She then told me I look like I'm "holding a lot of water weight," and reassured me that I'm not fat, because she weighs 104 lbs. I couldn't make this up if I tried. If all that wasn't bad enough, when I asked for my total, she said it was $55 plus $15 for, apparently, her generous service of removing a layer of my skin. A true bargain for unexpected dermatological work, right? I didn't come to a nail salon to be misdiagnosed, exfoliated into rawness, or body-shamed by someone tossing their lunch in a trash can mid-service. Bottom line: Please do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.

Amazing service and very nice ladies working here. I usually walk in on Sundays and there's mostly always available nail techs ready to help me. My friend and I wanted to get a design and all the ladies were able to help make it happen! The salon is super clean and the decor is nice. I love coming here!

Right when they first opened I started coming for the top notch pedicure service they offer with extra massage which I was very happy after every visit. I recently got Gel-X fill set with manicure and I was super pleased (I showed them an IG photo that had a lot of details). I like that this place has nice furniture and a clean bathroom. There are always very nice scents and she is always staffed well. I usually call ahead and owner is very responsive. I recommend this place for sure.

I planned to visit another salon, but it was closed, so I ended up here. This nail salon is really classy and modern. I adore the marble design. A lovely elderly lady did my nails, and she was very meticulous. However, there was a hair stuck on my thumb. I hesitated to mention it because she was already fixing another finger due to a dust particle. It's disappointing to see the hair/string stuck on the nail. The prices are reasonable, but they were insistent on using gel nail polish instead of regular polish.

This place was 10/10. Customer service was the best and they really work with your needs. I came in for a gel manicure and pedi and they mobilized me right away! They handled both services at once which is always a plus! All staff is super friendly and a joy to be around. Linda really nailed it with my pedicure! Best pedicure! I want to start off by saying I really wanted to like this place, the staff is sweet and welcoming and my nail lady tried her best... unfortunately she may be extremely inexperienced as the final result was far from a finished product ... I'd also like to add this was my first time here, and I tried this place since my regular salon in the area was fully booked. I communicated several times I wanted a gel pedi with a pink clear base under the white tip, despite that she still tried to use a pale pink base until her manager helped correct her on this (I was optimistically hoping it was due to the language barrier). When she went in on the French smile lines, the lines were crooked and made my big toe nail look completely circular... her manager stepped in again to set an example to follow yet she was unable to replicate it. The tips she painted were thick, uneven and asymmetrical and in honesty pretty atrocious. After enough attempts I suggested to go with a solid color instead. She managed to paint over the nail beds in addition to curing gel polish onto the top of my foot. She also managed to finish with uncured gel polish all over her hands. Overall it was a pretty stressful event to witness and be a part of and I'll still need my toes done but I'm out for my time wasted and the cost of this service. I personally love supporting small local businesses and leaving positive reviews but this is a situation where I feel an honest review is needed for the technical quality of the work. My daughter who also got a gel pedi with me had a much more pleasant experience though and hers turned out much better. **update** my daughter's pedi is still in really good shape after a week. Lien also called to apologize and offered to redo my pedi personally and I think that's just really great of her to do so.

Lien is probably one of the best nail techs in this area. She is so detailed with her work and I am so happy that I found this nail salon! One of my nails broke and I wanted a quick fix so I called a salon near by- Lien's Nails and was able to schedule a same day appointment. Once I arrived, the ladies here got me situated into their spa chair and started my pedicure right away. The ladies here are friendly and professional at what they do. The salon is also very clean and tidy. Pricing here is fair and reasonable. P.S. Parking is not too difficult and can park on the streets. If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming to Lien's Nails! :)

I went in for an appointment with my cousin. Walk ins are welcome as well. If you can't find parking on the street, there's a parking lot you can park in. Just follow the sign that says Lien's Nails. I love Lien! She is super nice and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable and made great small talk. She seemed happy and sincere. For the nails: I never gotten my nails done before so I didn't know what to expect. Lien has been doing nails for 20 years - so she has a lot of experience. It was so satisfying watching her work on my cuticles and snipping away my dead skin. I can tell that she carries a lot of pride in her work. For the color options, there's only two example books to browse through. Apparently she rotates them, adds new colors, and toss out the old ones. So at least we are getting new polish bottles. I love the way my nails turned out. She left a little bit of nail polish on the skin but I'm fine with that. It's better to have a more even coat than a skimpy one. Also, her hands are STRONG!! She massaged my hands in some sort of oil and that felt good! The cherry on top is Lien frying up some delicious egg rolls for us on the road!!! I never heard of a nail salon providing food before. Drinks, yes, which Lien does carry Vietnamese coffee and water, but never fresh food. She put taro inside the egg rolls!! That is some high quality and generous eggrolls. Please come to Lien's!!

LOVE coming to Lien's!! Lien is always so friendly and welcoming. This is currently my go-to nail spot. I used to go to Pearl Nails down the street but it got way too crowded and packed. Vicky did my gel x manicure and she is amazing! She is so patient, gentle, and kind. You can tell she does her job with extreme care. As for my pedicure, I believe it was Melinda (or Belinda -- sorry!) who helped me. She was very sweet and did a great job as well. I want Lien to do my nails next time but she's always so busy! And Vicky is also a great alternative. Pricing is fair and reasonable. Call in advance to make an appointment. Ample parking in the lot behind the building.

I went to Lien's Nails on 7/11/23 for the first time to kill some time before driving back home. I asked for a "gel pedicure with Barbie pink" and ended up with the color shown in the photo. Definitely NOT Barbie pink. I was skeptical but the owner kept telling me once I go outside the color is going to change to pink with the warm weather. I paid $60 including tip. The nail color NEVER CHANGED. I texted her and she said I can go back to get it fixed. When I returned 8/21/23, the owner was rude, raised her voice, and now said she couldn't do anything to fix the problem. It should have been a simple pedicure with one solid color. FAIL. Do NOT go to this business. They are rude and careless. I will never go back.

Completely forgot I'd been here years ago. Happened to be shopping nearby with my Mom and we decided to get Mani/Pedis cuz it was her last day visiting me. The ladies who work at Lien's are sweethearts & Lien herself is awesome - my Mom decided this place would be her go to whenever she was visiting. Until she noticed her nails the day after - the nail polish didn't even last 24hrs. My gel manicure lasted a bit longer - 2 days My Mom was really upset having to fly home with chipped nails after I spent close to $200 + tip on our Mani/Pedi's. And I'm really annoyed that I had to redo my nails to attend an event. Don't waste your $ here - they use cheap nail polish.

For starters just an FYI This is one person inside of a hair salon. This didn't impact my review. I was greeted by a very overwhelmingly friendly woman named Lien. She has a great selection of colors both gel and regular. Here are a few of the things that bothered me. She used the course mechanical buffer on my actual cuticles which burned And when I asked her to use the cuticle cutter to clean my cuticles she said it would be an additional $10. That was an immediate minus two stars for me because ive never in my life been told they'd charge to clean my cuticles when I'm paying $45 for acrylic full set with gel. Her supplies didn't seem clean And she used a small mechanical buffer to clean the underside of the acrylics but was rushing because her next appointment arrived and ended up going too deep cutting underneath my actual nail (we all know that sh* t hurts) I pay her and leave ( CASH ONLY and she accepts Venmo. ) that would've been nice for her to mention before starting. But I leave and get into my car only to notice all the gunk she left under some of my fingers. I leave two stars because she's friendly and has a lot of colors. But I wouldn't go back. read more

I'm so happy I found Lien!!! She's a true artist can transform ur existing acrylic set into looking like a brand new set without having to remove them. The owner is very nice, attentive and has great energy! This was my 2nd time here after finding them on Yelp. There are plenty of pedicure spas and lots of colors to choose from. I've had dip powder on my hands and gel pedicure for my toes. Both the color and shine lasted 3 weeks with no peeling or chipping. There's street parking and also parking in the rear. They are open 7 days a week and were able to take me both times the same day I called, which was very accommodating! read more

Came in on a weds morning. The staff was very friendly. The shop looks very well maintained and the owner is quite talkative. She spoke to us about traveling and where she wants to go next. Asked us about our traveling adventures and started pulling up videos on what countries have really beautiful sights. My wife said the work is pretty good and she would visit the shop again. read more

Liens work is by far the best in the valley - I am very very picky when it comes to my nails, and Lien is incredible - Her schedule is usually always accommodating and she is so detail orientated and will not let you leave unless every nail is perfect - I can go 4 - 5 weeks without a fill - they don't lift or break, and it is consistent - I never ever have issues with my nails, that's pretty incredible Love ya Lien =) read more

Amazing customer service Vicky was great very gentle and detailed. Best nail tech!! My gels with Lein lasted me over 3 weeks!!!!!! I was running late and decided to give her a try (I like my own nail spot and don't like changing) and I'm so happy I went to Lein because my nails looked so nice and were not peeling even though they were 3 weeks old! and it could have lasted me longer but they had that grown out look. One thing I hate about getting gels done is when they start to peel at the cuticles and get stuck in your hair but I did not have this issue with my gels doing them with Lien!! She is good at her job and has a good technique that works!! She has all the good major brands of nail polishes and color options!! I am so happy I found her, she is so good at what she does! Her prices are fair and she is very clean and professional. If you're looking for a good nail tech in Encino, I HIGHLY recommend Lien nails!!!! Bonus- she works out of a hair salon in plaza de oro called Friends..so I always get a blowout with my nails in the same time/salon...great way to save some time!! read more

She is sweet and has such a bright and colorful personality! The price is fair, $35 for full set acrylic almond shape regular polish. Today was my second time visiting this nail shop. The first time was such a great experience, I was excited to be back. Sadly, today was extremely disappointing. We arrived for our appointment and were sat down right away, feet in water and then made to wait for an hour before someone helped us. Pedicures were good, but the nails service was awful. it was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail shop. the tech had no idea what she was doing. 3 hours later I left there with uneven nails and no polish. I will NEVER be back, and I suggest you find another place of you don't want to waste your entire day and leave unhappy. read more

I have not had a nail on my big toe for over ten years! I have gone to laser specialists and tried many different things, but my toenail had not grown back!! After becoming a regular customer, Lien was able to suggest a few things and now the nail is almost back to normal! She is a miracle worker! And the manicure and pedicure lasts for weeks! Agh! I'm really glad I went here to get my nails done after not having done so by another person for years. Lien was very sweet and knowledgable. She did my nails exactly how I wanted and more. She really is a perfectionist, but appears effortless. She is an extremely hard worker, and made me feel relaxed and taken care of. This is a place people who care more about the quality of the work more than the interior design of the location I guess. Anyway I think I'm going to make this a habit! My nails are so perfectly me and they are making me really really happy. read more

I usually do my own nails to save money (and since they are generally pretty easy), but every once in a while, I like to treat myself. My polka-dotted pedicure not only looked beautiful, but has lasted 2 1/2 weeks so far (without being a gel polish). I accidentally smudged my toe when it was almost dry, but it was expertly and quickly fixed. The nail didn't have to be complrtely repainted, yet you couldn't tell it was ever smudged. This pedicure has been, by far, the best of any place I've ever gone. Also, as I was getting this done, I watched another gal getting gel polish on her fingernails, and Lien explained that her process does not damage the nails like some places. I came across this place by luck! My usual nail spot was booked and I needed to freshen up my set. I called lien and she was a gem right off that bat. I came in again she's being soo sweet, paired my up with Cindy who did beyond amazing and was so sweet. They both made me feel right at home, they had me watching a game show on tv! Lol I came for my nails and I left with more then that. I will def be coming back and highly reccomend. It's clean and they equipment is clean. Def a gem here read more

I am writing this after going to Lien maybe 5 years ago at this point. I had no clue she was in a small area in a big shopping center and that it was just her. This is also some constructive criticism for Lien and how small talk isn't always appropriate particularly if it has to do with personal stuff that I don't want brought up. I went in because I happened to visit my father that day and desperately needed my nails done. She mentioned that she has seen me before and I told her she also looked familiar. Turns out she did my nails a few times when I was younger and frequently works on my ex step mom. She then mentioned very personal things that my ex step mom and my father were going through at the time and told me that she thought what my dad did was ridiculous etc.. I found her small talk incredibly offensive and it led me to realize that If you tell her any of your business, she'll mention it to others if she finds out which circle you're apart of. I dreaded this review but it has to be said. My nails didn't turn out great, I remember there being lots of polish on the cuticle etc. But if you're ok with all of that, she's your girl. read more

Four days after the repair (about two weeks after the original set), 9 out of 10 nails were lifting from the sides. Again, Anna said she didn't know why and initially told me to come back in three days. I explained I was concerned about moisture and possible fungus, and suddenly she had availability the same day. That was frustrating. When I arrived, Anna didn't examine my nails or apologize. Another tech removed and reapplied a new set, and I was charged $80. Within two weeks, I had spent $280 total. I was only given a $20 gift card. Eleven days later, my thumb nail fell off again. When I reached out, Anna once more said she didn't know why. After spending hundreds of dollars here, I'm very disappointed with how this was handled. The customer service was poor, and I would not recommend this salon.

I appreciated the quick service--I got my nails done within an hour, even though I dropped in without an appointment. The wait time was only 15 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. The manicurists were friendly and did a nice job on my nails. The gel French manicure looked great, and I received compliments on it.
