Towels and machines are in a good condition. They have variety of working out equipment is almost complete. They used to have a indoor soccer field but remove the field to have a class that can make more money and I hate that. Management told me they will have a indoor soccer field in couple of weeks. Basketball and rocket ball fields are also nice. Swimming pool is clean and nice. In the evenings it is very crowded. Overall I am happy. read more

After 6 months of working out here, I can safely this place is solid for people that like group classes, a variety of high-end cardio machines from 2009-2011, and socializing. However, for $135 per month the negatives outweighed the positives for me so I'm leaving this summer when my work project ends. I work out alone, and I focus on using free weights. I try to keep my workouts efficient with circuit training and/or super-sets. I wanted a gym that wasn't crowded, very clean, with modern equipment, and open 24 hours. Lifetime got the latter two, but failed miserably on cleanliness and the crowded part. Crowding: Greater Houston's economy is doing well so the high dues vs other gym isn't a problem for many in this town. The new-member associate, Caleb, billed this as a place for 'exclusive people and those with pedigree' (*roll eyes*). In reality, they just want $1620/year from you, and that doesn't include the Lifetime Bucks which they constantly want you to buy. From 5-9:30pm, the weight area is packed - although there are plenty of cardio machines. People often fail to put the weights back on the rack. When they do, it's never in the right place. Because many love to chat, you have to wait quite a bit. Cleanliness: The machines or the benches are rarely clean or wiped after someone uses them. The men's locker room becomes filthy during the peak hours of 7-8:30am and 4-10pm. Aerosol deodorants make this an oxygen-free zone. Wet towels lie crumpled on the floor, puddles of water pool beneath you with hair, dirt, and oil mixed in, and there's no room to put your stuff without someone's naked behind standing over it. The toilet area suffers the same fate. I often saw someone in there with bare feet who walked over to the hot tub or pool and splash in... Miscellaneous thoughts: They like to describe this place as 'exclusive' and different from other gyms. If you've worked out at some of the high-end clubs in Miami, NYC, Shanghai, or London, prepare to be seriously disappointed. For Houston, it's decent. There are many up-to-date machines, classes and groups, and amenities like spa and rock climbing on-site. If you have $135/mo for gyms, this place isn't shabby. It doesn't hurt that many people here are attractive. For a person like me who prefers free weights and fast workouts where everything is in place and clean, a home gym might be better. read more

This is a resort. You go, to say hello to classy people who doesn't like sweating in a workout, or even if they do, they need 10ft of space between every person within the gym. Ok enough poking fun. This really is the best gym I've ever worked out in. The men's locker rooms are very clean packed with fresh towels, all toiletries like shaving cream, shaving razors, hair spray, lotion, q-tips, and the showers are equipped with decent shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The wet sauna as well as the Jacuzzi are located within the locker room for ease of access. There's a cafe, a salon, a large swimming pool, basketball course, multiple yoga and spin rooms, this gym is legit! Life Time City Centre is the way to go. It's way better than the location in Sugar Land, but then again, CityCentre requires a higher level of membership at $115/month/person. Steep, but seriously, think of it as a spa/resort. read more

This has to be 3 reviews in 1: for the Life Spa, the Life Cafe, and for the STRIKE! group fitness class The Life Spa - This is such a perfect way to end a hard week of physical massacism, and yet another reason why I love Lifetime Fitness more than words can explain.... after any particularly grueling week, I come to the Spa and get my spa ON! I'm talking massage, hair, and all the other stuff... it works. These peeps know what they are doing. Gianni is a hair genius, and all the staff are super friendly. They make you feel so comfortable, and before you know it you are floating in clouds and dancing with angels, for at least a couple of hours. The Life Cafe - for a gym eatery, this place is amazing!!! For anywhere, it is pretty darn good to begin with, but to have this here inside your very own gym is just awesome. They have everything you need before or after your workout, and any other time of day. The smoothies are always good, but I love their yogurt mixtures: greek yogurt, homemade granola, berries, and some kind of vitamin or extra supplements - then they blend it up into this crazy mixture, and when you get it it's all nice and ready in a cup. It's sooooo good, and gives you that perfect balance of flavors and energy. Great after a workout! STRIKE! and LTF group fitness classes - I love group classes, but in the past at other gyms, I haven't found one that kicked my butt to the point where I literally couldn't move... in a good way! Well, now that I've been introduced to STRIKE, a kickboxing/boxing type of cardio class at LTF, I have felt and seen muscles that I didn't know existed in my body. After just 3 of these classes, my little wimpy arms have suddenly developed into semi-guns!!! and have now introduced themselves to me as Sparky 1 and Sparky 2, oh yes peopole, my new guns are making an appearance for the first time, and i'm going to make sure they stick around. The other classes here at LTF are alao the best I've taken in their category: spinning, step, every kind of Yoga and Pilates, and they have the best Zumba class ever! LTF is like my home away from home.. a place where I feel like I can escape to get my workout on, athletic support, nourishment, motivation, great massages, ... and I don't mind paying for it. read more

Had an appointment for a haircut on Friday at 5pm. Arrived early and was told that they were running 15 mins behind-and that they had tried to call me but my number wasn't working. Understandable! We updated my phone number and I waited. At 530pm I was told it would still be another 10 mins. 40 min delay based on appointment time?! And when I told them that I didn't want to wait, I was given a half-hearted "sorry" and an ask if I wanted to reschedule. When I declined, the front desk attendant turned and walked away. Nice gym. Not really crowded. However, never leave any personal items in dressing/locker room. This summer 2018, I left my large stainless Rtic drinking container and no one turned it in the Lost and Found. I checked multiple times. Just this past Sunday, Dec. 9th. My son, forgot his dirty clothes bag in the men's locker. A brand new long sleeve grey shirt was in that bag. He called immediately Sunday night to have someone retrieve the bag and put his name on it. Clothes are Gone! Who wants dirty clothes? Or Did the workers who clean up throw it away. Sad. Club members always leave items behind. It is either the membership card, bottles, or clothing. Life Time needs a better way to manage their on going "Lost and Found" department. read more

Update: I am knocking them down 2 stars because their class schedules seem to cater exclusively to stay at home wives and retired people who can take classes in the middle of the day. I think this Lifetime is as enjoyable as any gym could be. It is always clean, the people are nice, and I don't wait for people to get off of machines. It is certainly a bit pricey, but it is more than worth it if we are going regularly. My kids (3 and 6) love the child care center and actually ask to go, so that certainly plays into things. read more

I have been a member since it opened years ago. I've been satisfied with the staff and facility but more especially their spa. I was referred by my trainer to see May, a massage therapist and I tell you she is the best one at the spa. I can tell she is well trained at her field. Book your next appointment with her. I cannot say enough great things about this gym. I joined while I was off work and on maternity leave and needed a place I could workout while I had my baby with me... this place was great. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the facility is nice and clean. The parking is no biggie, I typically drive to the 4th floor and never have an issue. I found the fitness classes and instructors great, there are several you can pay extra to attend but the free ones were sufficient. The childcare center has been wonderful. They started watching my baby at 3 months old and they were great. Always extremely attentive and loving. They were always respectful of my requests. I read a ton of negative reviews before I joined but have not had any issues and really enjoyed my time at this gym! read more

I am very unhappy with their cancellation policy. I was told there was a 30 day cancelations notice but when I canceled on September 1st I was told that the billing cycle had already started and I would have to pay for October despite I will not be using the club. Even if the billing cycle had started, good customer service would indicate to work with the customer, even if it is to prorate the one day missed. Now the gym is nice but the parking is very difficult. And to all of those comparing to the Houstonian Gym, if the LTF is 5 stars then the Houstonian is 10 stars. Comparing apples to apples, the LTF doesn't even come close. If you have money to spend move to a classy gym with exceptional customer service, not just for 3 years but for decades. read more

Ok, so this gym sold me! Yes, I gave it 5 stars. It's super nice and really clean. There are so many different machines that even when it's busy it doesn't seem crowded. I love how they put the different strength workout machines in rows by the muscles you will be working out and it's labeled! It's really spacious so you don't have to feel cramped and towel service is awesome. Thank goodness they provide wipes when you finish at each workout station, call me a germ-aphobe if you wish but I hate working out when people never wipe down the stations. Rock-climbing, soccer field, raquetball, basketball court, large spin room, yoga, pilates so many options OH MY! Heated indoor lap pool, leisure pool, outdoor lap pool, outdoor jacuzzi, large dressing room with mentholated steam room and jacuzzi! The provide shampoo, condition, shaving cream, face wipes, razors..... oh i love this place Llfe cafe, kids daycare which my son loved, it seems so much fun. I was a member of 24hr fitness for 2 years, LA for 2 years, and I've just begun here and they just don't compare. Plenty of amenities for the whole family, including a spa, cafe, indoor/outdoor pools. Working out isn't such a pain when there are a variety of shows and music (at LA you have the same dance mixes over and over). Can't wait to try everything out - locker rooms seem clean, and you don't pay extra for lockers. Plenty of towels. Gotta try the rock wall! read more

Came here today to try out the gym for the first time. It was AWESOME. There are three different levels. The bottom floor has a cafe, indoor/outdoor pools, locker rooms, activity center desk and the Lifetime Spa. The second floor had all the cardio equipment and free weights, etc. There was also a yoga studio and a pilates studio (with real pilates equipment!). All the machines were really new and up to date. TV's lined the perimeter of the area. The third floor had a soccer field, basketball court, squash courts, 2 studios for classes and a spinning room. There was even a rock climbing wall that went all the way up to the third floor. The facilities were really nice. I tried out the steam sauna which had this scent of menthol. They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving cream. Everything you could possibly think of! Although I came on a Thurs at 2pm, it was actually pretty quiet even for a quiet time. By the time we left at 5:00, more people had come in, but it was still fairly open for everyone to get to a machine. read more

I like this gym quite a bit. The parking lot next door is free, and there's always free machines available no matter what exercise you do. I haven't tried any of the classes yet, I'm not really a class person but there's a pretty extensive list of things to do. Some of the classes come with a fee. I'm not sure why people are complaining it's not clean? It looks pretty spotless to me. There's only one membership level available (onyx) which means you have access to pretty much all the lifetime gyms in different states as well. Really convenient for travelers. It seems like they're always holding events so if you're into that stuff, there you go. My only complaint is they don't have drinking fountains around the place. I think there's a place you can refill your water bottle but I haven't found it yet :/ read more

I love, love, love this gym. I have been a member of just about every major health club chain over the years, and this one by far is the best. I joined LTF when it first opened about 3 years ago and have been very satisfied. Yes, it is quite pricey to belong to, but it seems like with health clubs you definitely get what you pay for. Here are the things I like about it. 1. First and foremost, they have tons of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bicycles, etc. Addiitonally, the equipment is all well maintained. Rarely if ever have I seen a broken piece of equipment. This is probably the single most important thing to me, as it is not the case with some of the other health clubs I have been a member of in the past. 2. State of the art cycle studio, with awsome bicycles, and excellent classes. 3. The wide variety of group fitness classes offered from yoga to strength training, boot camp or cycle. There is something for everyone. 4. This gym is very clean and well maintained. This is very important to me as in the past I have belonged to some health clubs where if you dropped something on the floor you were afraid to even pick it up for fear it might be contaminated with who knows what. This is not the case here as there are always locker room attendents cleaning sanitizing and replacing fresh towels. 5. Friendly front desk and locker room staff. Excellent friendly personal trainers. 6. The only negative that I can really think of is the parking situation. This garage is shared with retail shopping as well as businesses. Now LTF has several reserved spaces in the garage, however, even at that it can still be tricky to find parking during peak times. Overall the positives far out weigh the negative. Yes it is pricey, however, I am at the gym 4-5 days a week so I definitely feel I am getting my monies worth. read more

ZERO stars. I withdrew & cancelled my membership here. The towels & locker rooms are filthy -- not at all seeing where my $128/month goes to in this so-called "luxury-gym". Also, fell for a massage at LifeSpa. No one notified me that there was a special where I could've gotten more out of my service for just a little more. I happened to see that on the 2nd floor. And the massage service I did receive was horrible -- the masseuse, Kimberly, left me cold while she massaged, never offering a hot towel or blanket during the experience. Definitely DO NOT recommend LifeSpa or ANY of the Lifetime Fitness services to anyone -- even if you're a non-member, go support local business, NOT chains like these! read more

The date we had plan I was online for about 25 minutes.. and at the end they said they will call me in short time.. short time was 4 and a half hours later when some very happy sound girl called me and left message that she was so busy and couldn't call me!, wow!, what kind of buys for this long hours!!? So the plan canceled..kids was extremely sad and disappointed and thought it was my fault! I kept sending emails till 5 o'clock..the supervisor just answered once and asked me if I send a written note she will immediately activate my family's membership...I did just that second I got the email but her immediately was 2 days later! She told me they lost the form I had signed 3 weeks ago and she can't find it! We went there to talk.. she promised she will give us guests passes ( I mentioned 3 times of them) and she confirmed..but the day later she denied what she promised! They charged us 100$ for swimming pool this year.. start to charge 15$ for each guest ( with out sending emails about guests fees!!) ..and when you ask why they claim it's for making the swimming pool environment better! Like what better? So we were members for 5 years and they didn't do anything to improve? And suddenly they realize it? Are they making Any new swimming pool?new painting of them? Add new lifeguards? Great group Classes. Mostly clean locker room - can get a little messy at peak times. Cardio equipment for days - they're right about never waiting for this. My complaint is with the free weights. This area is always packed with people horsing weights and I have NEVER in a year seen all the Dumbbells stacked properly. Im usually looking for my weights around the floor. This is even very early AM and late nights. I joined this gym for the pitch that you'll "never wait for equipment". Additionally some of the machines are in poor working order or need maintenance. If you're into swimming, group fitness, racquetball - it's excellent and worth the high membership fees. If you want to lift weights - better to pay for a cheap membership somewhere else. read more

Pricey but beautiful workout facility! Mostly adult oriented, but does have a place to put children while you work out and a large pools inside for their use as well. Nice additional outdoor pool if you prefer outside. The air smells clean, it is kept up immaculately. They have dry sauna and wet saunas; they have whirlpools, they have it all, somewhere in that facility. It has a country club feel to it, but no one is snobby or pretentious. There is a small place to eat or grab a snack or buy some supplements if you want also. Good food, longish wait. For me it was the personal trainers that stood out. Fantastic personal trainers that really do a wonderful job of motivating and assisting you to your goals. Ben is my number one fave over there, but the others I tried were good too. You check out the different personalities or tell the head person who helps you choose based on your preferences. They are so very worth it! We tried to do a day trial pass to see if we liked the gym but both the lady at the front desk and the manager were completely unwilling to work with us. When we lived in Scottsdale, Arizona the lifetime fitness let us a do a week trial pass and we ended up getting memberships. This is the first time I've posted to yelp, and unfortunately it is due to an upsetting situation. My husband had a membership here and then suddenly had to move out of state, across the country, for work (didn't get a chance to go in person to the gym to cancel his membership). The following month, he called to cancel but instead was "persuaded" to maintain membership by putting his account on hold for 10 bucks a month. He thought this was better than paying full price of course, so agreed to it even though he told them he moved to a different state. They didn't mention that he could've sent in a letter to cancel at that time. So after EIGHT months of being under the impression that this was the only option until the following year when we could visit in person, I finally called to see if there was any other way to cancel since my husband wouldn't be going to Houston on this trip, it was then that they told us about sending in a letter. Of course, I found this upsetting, but everyone I talked to said that "according to their notes" there was no indication that he intended to cancel. Absolutely unbelievable....and then they had the nerve to say that if we sent the letter in today, they would only charge us for May since they needed a month notice. OH THANKS!! How kind of you to rip us off one last time, as if eight months and moving across the country wasn't enough notice!! read more

I have been a member for a year and a half and paying their premium for it. My only complaint up until today would have been the parking - which is awful. Today though their AC is not working in the cardio area. In fact it's blowing hot air. I went looking to tell an employee but none were around on the entire floor. I went downstairs to tell the kids at the front desk who replied "yeah our offices are warm too. Been like this for 5 days". Five days and it's not yet fixed at the premium one pays for this gym? After an hour and a half on the treadmill waiting to mention this to a more senior employee, none ever entered the area. Usually they are all over the place. Must be too hot for them. My advice is to seek another gym to give your money too. These guys are not good at running the basic business they are in. read more
