I too heard about Life Without Laundry when I saw the Groupon a while back. We all have our reasons for using a laundry service- mine is that I have to lug my laundry down 3 flights of stairs and go outside to get to the back of the apartment building where there sits two P.O.S. laundry machines that cost $1.25 and truly suck. Anyway, I purchased the Groupon and tried to use it immediately, but wasn't sure where/how to redeem it on the website. Yes, the website was a little weird and hard to navigate, but I looked back at the comments on the Groupon page to hopefully get some help. I saw that the owner had been personally replying to each individual comment, telling clients why they didn't service certain zip codes, yada yada, but making tons of exceptions about where they would deliver *just because people were whining about it.* This dude was trying his very hardest to please everyone and run a legitimate, respectable business and make us all happy. It's one thing to trash a business that downright sucks and has no intentions of improving, but these people clearly care! My laundry also wasn't delivered on schedule, so I emailed the bossman and he let me know that it would be delivered shortly, or he himself would drive it out to me. As someone else mentioned, a phone call or email would have been nice, but now they know that and hopefully will consider that in the future. I got a phone call about 10 minutes before the delivery came, and everything was perfectly clean, folded, normal-smelling, and my personal favorite, nothing was shrunk. Huzzah! Anyway, I just really believe it's important to cut people some slack every now and then. Clearly this company cares enough to respond to our issues and if you have suggestions, I can only imagine they're dying to hear what you have to say. It's so obvious that these dudes are trying to make an honest living and really care about the integrity of the services they provide. So I highly suggest giving them a shot- I'm trying it a second time next week! read more

I tried LWL over a year ago and wasn't happy with the way my clothes were folded. After my partner started a new job, we were desperate for some household help and decided to give this laundry service another chance. I have been thrilled with every order since then... the clothes are folded SO crisply and it could not be more convenient to schedule an order. Not to mention the owner is extremely responsive to feedback and answers all customer service inquiries himself. So I got this as a Groupon, so I didnt pay for it, but I love this! I figured that its about the same price $20 for OTHER PEOPLE TO PICK UP YOUR LAUNDRY AND DO IT! Then they bring it back and things are folded and socks are matched and MY LIFE JUST GOT GREAT again! I have never even thought about getting my laundry sent out-- because that was for people that can afford that extra expense, um, but I hate doing laundry so it always adds up to like 2 months of laundry, and I end up spending $20 in quarters anyway.... Might as well take advantage of something that will pick it up at your house, and drop it off the next day, when it snows! Lord KNOWS this Cali girl is loving this service. I had this laundry delivery service last month when I was on crutches and in a boot (aka so necessary for my life). let's start with the basics, site is easy to navigate and staff was available via email right away to answer my questions re the yelp coupon (+1). the scheduling was pain free (+1). the times I scheduled were adhered to to a T (no Comcast style 3 hour window and showing up after, +2). not so basics: - my friend had slept over for my 30th bday and vomited on my comforter... fail. so it was an embarrassing load to pick up haha, bravo to whoever found that out - I like my fitted sheets folded very particularly, the owner let me know that next time I can add special instructions and the staff will try and meet those - the weight was well over w the comforter, so my total bill went up $25 (plus it was a ton of other stuff), but before charging me they sent an email letting me know, nice. all in all great experience :) read more

This is a fabulous service, especially for those who live on top floors without laundromats close by. I used the Yelp deal without issue, and Alex, the owner, was very responsive. Our clothes were picked up and dropped off on time, folded perfectly, and even smelled nice. Our bag labeled delicates seemed to be handled with care. It was such a time-saver, and we are totally sold! Pretty reasonably priced too (for the wash/dry/fold service). It was $35 (with the Yelp deal) for 3 loads of laundry, including sheets and towels. I only subtracted one star because my husband's white button-down shirt came back with a small yellow stain near the collar. He called Alex and scheduled a pick-up to remove the stain. The shirt came back to us flawless, but the delivery was a few days late, without any word from Alex. My husband had to ask about the shirt once again to get it delivered. Also, I happened to be home to receive the delivery, but without notice, I might not have been there, and I don't know where they would have left the shirt. I would've liked a heads up. Overall, we're very pleased, and we will be sticking with them! read more

So the first time I used LWL, it cost $13 for 15 lbs and everything was good (I waited to use my groupon until I expected that the groupon rush was over). But my roommate used it during that time and she eventually got all of her stuff back, but it took 3-5 days I think. But that was a problem due to the massive response they received. So, I sent in my laundry yesterday and it turns out I sent in 27 pounds...so... it'll be $17.40 + 14.04 ish? = $31.44 So, I'm thinking is that worth it? that's kind of a lot...and then in my laundry, I found a dark fitted sheet and a pair of purple underwear that is similar to some of mine...but not mine (i don't do sequins)... So if anyone is looking for those, let me know! (Or let them know!) I think it was worth it! They did save me a terrifying laundry experience involving carrying 27 lbs from my house to the bus stop, then to the laundry place, then spending 4-5/load to wash/dry at least 3 loads, fold it all, and bring it back on the bus. That would have taken at least 4 hours and probably at least one tearful episode on the bus. [Update: Spoke with Alex at LWL because I forgot to update my credit card info and he reassured me that my stuff should be all there, he also gave me a discount because of the mix-up...] I'll probably eventually update to 5 stars with a couple more good experiences... read more

This company is incredibly professional. My girlfriend and I bought a voucher on Gilt City and were confused on how to use it. I emailed the owner, Alex, and he responded promptly. I noticed the voucher did not apply correctly but Alex jumped on it to fix the problem and refund the money I was charged incorrectly. I'm a college student and trying to get my laundry down the stairs and all the way to our laundry area is a pain in the bum, plus I don't want to have to lug around laundry detergent and all of that, too. A few things to point out, - Seamlessness of the online scheduling and payment - Prompt response when offline communication is necessary - Flexibility of scheduling - Solving issues promptly and proactively when addressed. - Clean and neatly folded laundry :) In fact, aren't those all we ask for when looking for a good laundry service? What was life like before LWOL? I can't even remember! Oh yes, I have a faint recollection of going into a musty old basement to launder my clothes at a a shared washer and dryer, which typically took an entire Sunday just to get caught up -- if you were lucky enough to score the machine. So then one might bite the bullet, grab a roll of quarters, and head to the local laundromat. But those $30 spent on high-capacity washers could very well go to a platinum pick up and wash for 20 lbs of clothes at LWOL, instead. And when the clothes come back, they're meticulously folded, great-smelling, and neatly bundled by color/wash. The scheduling is a breeze and clothes typically arrive next day, while you're out enjoying a weekend with friends. Best part about the service is that Alex is so personable and acommodating. He's unbelievably responsive to my requests, my whiny "I forgot to use my coupon," and "is there any way you can come earlier?" So what are you waiting for? At first, I was looking for dry cleaning delivery. What I found was a total game changer. My dry cleaning was picked up and dropped off within a week. After the first service, a bag is provided for future pick-ups. I also decided to try the wash and fold service. I sent a bag full of my boyfriend's laundry and got it back 2 days later. I'm pretty sure it typically comes the next day, which is amazing. My first time using the services there were a couple small mix ups because I didn't have the provided laundry bags yet, but Alex texted me to clear everything up and made sure things were taken care of quickly. I will certainly use this service again and have already recommended LwL to a couple friends. The prices are totally reasonable, too. I think the cost is worth the time and energy saved. read more

Despite all the positive reviews, I was still a little wary when I tried LWL out for the first time. I scoured their website (which is very well done, in my opinion) to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing. To say that I was dancing around my room, giddy with delight, as I put away my folded laundry would be an understatement. Every single time I found some little detail that surprised me, I would zoom out into the living room to gush about it to my flatmate. I could probably sit here and write a novel about everything that made the experience practically heaven on earth, but I'm going to refrain and just post bullet points of the good and the bad from the minute I scheduled a pick up to the night of the delivery. Good: *If you do the "pay as you go" plan, you only get charged for 15 lbs (their minimum) until your laundry gets weighed * Emailed invoice informing you how many additional lbs. you sent over 15 and the charge to your account * Drivers were extremely nice and funny. The guys were great in helping me get the laundry from the 2nd floor of my apartment building (which is on a hill no less) and back * The pickup and drop-off times were spot on! * The clean laundry is folded in a very logical manner (e.g. towels are all put together, darks are with darks, etc.) and put in clean, clear bags * LWL staff buttoned every button, folded down collars, and made sure every single article wasn't turned inside out * Did I mention how easy it is to put everything away because the folding is so perfect that everything is uniform? Bad: * The only bad thing I have to say is the blocks of time for pickup and delivery can be limited. NOTE: This isn't LWL's fault. I booked mine literally the night before so the open windows were very limited. Thus, while I was ready to go Friday at noon, I had my laundry picked up Saturday night and delivered Monday evening. So if you know you want to use LWL, definitely book in advance. TL;DR: Life Without Laundry will change the way you live. Use it once and I swear you'll understand just how amazing it feels. One word: Awesome. This laundry service is hands down, the best I've used. I'm a convert from Garment Valet (who featured the worst customer service I've experienced) and I couldn't be happier. The quality is great too...all of my clothes are done per my instructions and done well. I've tried both laundry and dry cleaning and both have come back exactly as i could have wanted. They even took care of my winter coat and it came back like new. The best part though? The customer service. I just got an email to check in and make sure everything went alright with my most recent order. If you're looking for good quality, professional and personal service in a laundry delivery company, this should be your choice. It has been a very convenient service to use and I have been quite happy with the quality of service received. I gave Life Without Laundry the keys to may place so they can pick up when I am not home. When you schedule a pickup online they give you a window of 9AM to 9PM usually for the following day. Then your clean and folded laundry is left at your door about 24 hours later. The laundry room at my apartment is in the basement, with about 10 flights of stairs up and down. Great if you want a work out, not so great if you just want clean clothes. Honestly, it makes financial sense to give your laundry to a service like this, especially if the alternative is coin laundry. I pay about $50 for what I would consider two large loads of laundry, and it takes a few hours a week off my plate. Pros ------ Unattended pickup and delivery (keys) No hidden charges or up-charges for sheets, sweatshirts, blankets, etc Nice folding and placement into clear plastic bags Use of fabric softener to keep things soft Customer service is very responsive and amicable Cons ------- Dry cleaning takes several days Have to supply your own detergent if you can't use regular Tide Pickup window (2hrs) is a little large for a busy person if you don't give the service your keys Overall, highly recommend Alex and Life Without Laundry. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Life Without Laundry!!!! About a month ago, I conducted a very quick google search in hopes of tracking down a pickup and drop-off laundry service, who would be able to help *immediately*. My dog Kora has cluster seizures, during each of which my poor girl urinates all over herself and any / all bedding she is laying on. Between the urine-soaked blankets / bedding (2 different cluster events... 4 seizures and then 3 seizures... lotssssss of bedding) and the towels used after each of her baths, I was overwhelmed to say the least. In addition to my OWN laundry, I was now Swimming in dog-laundry, was completely exhausted (seizures don't care if you have to work in the morning... they pop up at all hours), and almost started crying at the thought of hauling a bunch of trash bags down to the laundromat for hours upon hours of washing + drying + more drying + folding. I was Relieved to find LwL -- I signed up immediately, selected my pickup and drop-off preferences, and then prepped for my laundry to be retrieved. I had FIVE Giant black trash bags FULL of laundry (no judging...) picked up at my apartment in Arlington while I was out at work that Friday after signing up. I had selected a next-day drop-off, which not only happened, but my items were dropped back off to me, in the same spot at my apartment, clean - dry - folded - smelling Amazing - and in new bags. There was even a reusable laundry bag sent back with my items for use the next time around!! So far I Could Not be happier with this company.... I'm now sold on their service: friendly, personable workers; clothes were spotless; on-time pick up and delivery; and, very reasonable pricing. I would point out that if you want your own scented, fabric softener make certain to include your product along with your clothes and indicate that you want them to use the softener in the notes section of your order. I consider my time precious so I hate waiting around at a laundromat. I've had a very positive experience with LWL- they picked up and delivered my laundry about 30 minutes into 2 hour window. Everything came back fresh and neatly folded, along with a new laundry bag for next time. At first glance, it may seem pricey with the 15lb minimum but if you consider your time to be money, it's worth every penny. Overall I had a very positive experience, will be a repeat customer, but am giving 4 and not 5 stars because a lot of the pick-up times that I wanted were grayed-out for 2 days. read more

Incredible experience and customer service! I've tried multiple laundry delivery services in Boston and have had major issues or delays with almost all. I was reluctant to try LwL as I have had had such bad luck previously but I am SO glad I did! They were amazing! I had a question and was able to text with a live and local representative who resolved my issue right away. Delivery driver was wonderful, gave me a heads up when close, and came masked up which is hugely important for me. The turnover time of pick-up and delivery is the fastest I've found in Boston thus far and the clothes were all returned and in perfect condition. I learned about LWL through a friend, and immediately tried it out. Alex, the owner, is incredibly nice and accomodating, and I was encouraged to try out the service after corresponding with him via e-mail. My roommate and I both sent several dozen pounds of laundry away and crossed our fingers. The driver was friendly and patient, and came right at 10 a.m. for our 10-12 pickup window, and showed up at 5:58 for our 6-8p.m. window! They returned our laundry gorgeously folded (seriously, i don't think my clothes have ever experienced folding that nice), and it smelled good - and all stains were gone! (And NOTHING had shrank in the dryer, which had been one of my major concerns). My roommate and I were thrilled with the service, and the price is definitely right. You're also paying for peace of mind, not having to haul your laundry to and from the laundromat, and having fresh, actually DRY laundry (plus, no folding time!) I'm absolutely going to continue this service indefinitely. read more

The company I work for runs normal business hours (9-5) - we used to use Washio, but they missed our pick-up window twice in a row since the earliest they pick up is between 4:30-5pm and they kept coming after 5pm (when we are closed). Then, we found Life Without Laundry! It was pretty easy to schedule online, AND they have pick-up windows starting MUCH earlier in the day than Washio - so no more missed pick-up times!! What a relief. They were on time for the pick-up (on a Friday) and returned our laundry clean and neatly folded on Monday morning. The only (slight) bummer is that they did not come up to our office on the 2nd floor to pick-up or drop-off the laundry since there was no street parking available and were double-parked. No matter, though, we met them in the lobby for both. They were honest in their laundry-weighing also. We estimated our outgoing laundry to be between 35-45lbs, so figured we'd spend about $80 all told. In the end, we had an extra 17.55lbs in the load (total of 32.55lbs) and they simply charged us for the extra weight, as we expected from the beginning. Final cost was about $65. I just got my first batch back and the verdict is in... they're fantastic! Two days ago, their van dropped by to pick my clothes up and 48 hours later my phone rang to let me know they were downstairs with the drop-off. Simple. Easy. And my arms don't hurt from dragging everything to the laundromat--brilliant! My clothes look great, smell clean, and are perfectly folded. I really, really want to love LWL. I've been using them on a regular basis for about 4 months now. They always pick up and drop off during my specified time frame (which is great), UNLESS they call me to say that they actually won't be able to bring my laundry that day at all (too many people didn't show up for work, car broke down, etc.). This is a MAJOR inconvenience for me, especially when this is a service that I give a large amount of money to because it is supposed to be *convenient*. This leaves me without laundry when I need it, and I also need to find another time during which I have two hours free to wait for them. I specifically schedule these appointments around my very, very busy schedule - and isn't that the point of paying a premium to use this service? Another reviewer wrote that their clothes come back organized - mine definitely do not! I would love to have all of my shirts in one group, my towels in another, etc. I can't tell you how many times I've taken T-shirts out of the drawer only to find socks or underwear in-between the shirts or even folded into shirts! I wouldn't take off any stars for this alone, but it would be nice to see some sort of organization. I'd say that about 70% of the time I get some socks or other articles of clothing that aren't mine. This makes me concerned for a couple of reasons - 1) How is everything getting mixed up? and 2) Am I missing some of my own stuff? I've thought about taking inventory before they pick my laundry up just to make sure, but again, that takes away from the convenience factor. On the positive side, I like that I can choose my pick up/drop off times online, and the delivery guys are always extremely friendly! read more

The good: being able to a schedule pick-up online. My items were picked up and delivered on schedule. The service was convenient. The bad: half of my order was made up of "line dry" items. They were returned damp in a plastic bag. I had to rewash all of them myself because of the mildewy smell incurred from sealing damp clothes in plastic. I used the service because I was moving and didn't have time to get to a laundromat. I had to spend additional money to re-wash my clothes which were returned damp, so it didn't save me any time and actually cost me more. Will not use again. read more
