Finding a healthy option for a quick lunch when traveling can be difficult. I was so happy to find this restaurant. I called ahead from the car as I noticed some reviews mentioned slow service but I don't think it made a big difference. My poke bowl was fantastic! What a great find! I was driving through Bedford on a longer road trip and searched for a spot for lunch. So glad I found this place! Everything looked great on the menu. I got the Hawaiian Poke Bowl and Tuscan Chickpea soup. Both were delicious! The place was quiet and a relaxing spot for a road break. My friends and I met here for brunch before doing some shopping around town. It is super casual, you order at the counter. We got some plates to share and everything was tasty! Here's what we got: Ham & Muenster Panini - The bread on this panini was perfect. We also loved the rosemary and honey mustard collab, perfect combo on the ham. Breakfast Bowl - This was a last minute add on and we all ended up liking it the best. I am usually iffy on chorizo but it worked so well in here. Greek Bowl - This was probably my least favorite (and it was the one dish that I picked). I love lamb but something about these meatballs didn't work for me. The texture seemed off. Farro and tzatziki were good. Parma Pasta - Pasta for brunch gets a hell yeah from me. The sauce was rich and the crunchy bits of pancetta were sinful. I loved every minute of it. Oh wow, what a nice surprise. We were just passing through on a road trip and looking for a place to eat. We found this place from a search and it's such a nice and healthy option for stopping to get something to eat. The cashier was very nice and welcoming, and answered all our question. You order at the front and then have a seat and they bring the order to you. The place is pretty small, but it wasn't super busy. They also have a lot of specialty items for sale along the wall, so it was nice to look while waiting for our food to arrive. Will keep this on my radar when I drive through in the future. read more

I stopped by LifeStyle Next Door for a coffee. It was a great place to sit and do some painting and enjoy a well-crafted coffee. The atmosphere was good, and I don't recall if there was music playing..which is better than remembering that the music was too loud or an obnoxious genre. I didn't try any food but several couples and families stopped in while I was there and they seemed to enjoy their meals. Contemporary food in a casual foodie boutique. Friendly service and surprisingly large portions. My lady had a Cuban inspired bowl. I ordered the Ulaanbataar beef bowl. Hers came with authentically flavored chicken with vegetables. Mine reminded me of good Korean Bilbao. We gobbled it up and had plenty to take home. They have a variety of teas and espresso drinks should you need some caffeine. We found the London Fog to be a great pick-me-up after the meal. The filling of "The Northern Italian" pressed sandwich is 5 stars all the way! When I first saw this sandwich on the menu, I may have let out an audible gasp of joy. It contains salami, gorgonzola, walnut spread, and arugula. This is not a flavor profile I expect to see in Central PA. It's very Italian. There is nothing sweet about it. In fact, it's delightfully bitter, but brought into balance by the salt and fat of the salami and gorgonzola. Even the quality of the salami itself was able to shine through the other intensely flavored ingredients. This ain't your corner deli salami. This is the good stuff. Delicate and tender. Delicious, with that lovely flavor of well cured salami. This is what I would expect to find at a sandwich shop connected to a remarkably good Italian specialty food shop. We need more of this. That said, the bread is tragic. They do the best they can with it. It's pressed and toasted, to try and hide its oddly fluffy, industrial texture. And I would not be surprised at all if this were the very best bread available within an hour drive of Bedford. It only means that the good folks at LIFeSTYLE need to start baking their own bread next. There are other areas of improvement too. The folks making espresso drinks could use some more training in the basics. The espresso itself was over extracted. The foam was over aerated. I was able to drink mine, as the intense flavors of the sandwich drowned out the flaws in the coffee. My companion however abandoned her cappuccino. Can you imagine someone fussier than me? What I would love to see is a stronger identity for this adjacent business. Yes, there are more Italian options than the sandwich I ordered. But they have named a sandwich "The O.G." and it contains prosciutto, creamy brie, truffle aioli, and arugula. I take exception with the brie. Why? It's French. And Robiola is an Italian classic! Still, if I were to make an OG Italian sandwich with prosciutto as the main ingredient, I might very well have to keep it even simpler with just fresh hand pulled in house mozzarella, a good olive oil, and the arugula. Maybe a bit of actual balsamic, leaving the "glaze" behind at the Giant Eagle where it belongs. The only reason I am so hard on this place is because I keep returning to Bedford, and I would love to see them be the incredible casual cafe I know they can be! At the moment, they seem to have lost their focus. Maybe they are trying to cater more to local tastes. But Bedford Springs brings in people from all over, and I truly think this place can succeed by staying true to its Italian roots. Fingers crossed. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout from here after briefly stopping in Bedford by way of passing through. They are located right in town for easy access and street parking around. Their menu reads to be on the healthier side and prices are very reasonable. My wife and I each ordered bowls. I had the Cuban and my wife had the superfood with chicken. Both bowls were tasty and included a decent portion of food. The chipotle mayo dressing in my dish added a nice compliment of flavor. I tasted my wife's bowl and thought hers was a little better, so next time I will likely get the superfood instead. The veggies in hers were cooked perfectly and the tahini dressing was delicious. What a cute place! I was so happy to finally be able to eat here since COVID had limited this since they have been really thriving earlier in 2020. We shopped locally at Finley Bee and some other cute shops. It was perfect as we parked right on Main Street then went in to sit to eat. There were several different tables and we got the high top table on the side. You order at the register and they bring it to you. I was excited they had a more full menu since COVID restrictions have lifted somewhat. I was really impressed by all the healthy ingredients and recipes. I kind of wanted to try everything. I went with a Cuban Bowl and an "OG" sandwich; both which are my nicknames. I got a Diet Coke and it came with these odd chips but whatever. The lunch was served very quickly. The two owners i think are brothers from maybe Italy? They make sure everything is just so and right when it comes up. The decor is so cute with all the air purifying plants and rattan furniture. The dishes and utensils are even cute. I need plates and bowls like these. I would love for this place to be closer. Everything I ate was excellent, not even a second guess on anything. They also have 5 course dinners that you can reserve ahead of time on Fridays and Saturdays that are trattoria style? I will have to investigate. I see another review on the side and it def also reminds of a place you might find on the strip in Pittsburgh, especially with the old building with new, hipster, retro touches. Loving the floor! The best part is I spent a good amount of money on lunch, ate it all, shared some others, and did not feel heavy or stuffed in a bad way afterwards. This restaurant is a true find -- they prepare very high quality food with vegan (and "veganizable" - my word?) options. I had their tofu wrap which was absolutely delicious --honestly the best I had ever tasted. I wish I had placed a second order to take for my next day's lunch during our car trip home! Great location pretty building we had the Greek bowl it was plentiful and delicious. The lamb meatballs were very flavorful! I also had the tomato basil soup that was served piping hot and was very good. Soup came with what I believe were house made crackers. Had a good selection of vegetarian options. They have definitely gone for aesthetics over good food or comfort. It was uncomfortably loud with brick walls and a wood floor there was nothing to absorb noise. The furniture was awkward & uncomfortable, with a counter not wide enough to hold the plate, which was large ceramic 2 pound plate. Lastly, the sandwich had 1 piece of turkey lunch meat (turkey & pesto sandwich). A lot of effort into style & trends and missed the most important things. read more

Stopped in for breakfast after a wonderful spa day at the Springs. Cute place - reviews looked good - so we gave it a try. We weren't sure of the process for eating in. We said hello to the girl working there and said we wanted to have breakfast. She just said ok. Ok? We didn't know what we were supposed to do so we sat down. After about 5 minutes she came over and said we needed to order at the counter. That's all we needed to know. Our food was amazing. The French toast has fresh blueberries and strawberries on it and the BEST maple syrup I've ever tasted. We also had the avocado toast with goat cheese and balsamic dressing. Unreal!!!! After you finish eating you take your plates up and put in the bin. We weren't sure of tipping? Quite honestly I'm still not sure. They sell all sorts of cute stuff and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Would have gotten 5 stars if the hostess hadn't let us feel so lost for so long. Stopped for lunch during our road trip. We charged our EV just off the highway, but did not want fast food. So we drove into downtown Bedford to eat here based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. We both had panini sandwiches that were served with a small side salad. Definitely several notches above normal travel food and a quiet respite before getting back on the highway. If I were a local, I would imagine I would eat here at least once a week. read more
