First of all let me say that I have not been to this bar prior to the Pop Up Elf Bar they created upstairs. The regular drink menu looks great but the Elf Bar menu was limited to special Holiday drinks and since I was not able to switch out Gin for Vodka I only ordered one drink. The venue was very festive and lifted your spirits anyway! The "elf" was the MC and spoke in falsetto however has a nice regular singing voice. Been coming to Lifted Spirits for a few years now, can't say I've ever had a bad experience or drink there. The place is riddled with charm on a quieter block in the crossroads, the interior is small but set up perfectly with a garage door window they open up on good weather days! They also have a pretty sweet outdoor patio! The staff are always so friendly and helpful in breaking down their cocktails to help you decide on which one try. We've been to Lifted Spirits in downtown KC a couple times for trivia, and we love it! It's on the small side, but that just makes it feel more cozy, I think, and personable. The trivia is Jeopardy-style (except you don't have to answer in question form), and it's even more awesome because the host, Sammy, has actually been on the real Jeopardy! You can tell he puts a lot of effort into the trivia questions - we like the questions a lot more than at other trivia nights we've been to. Some of our group got cocktails, and they really enjoyed their drinks--they said they were, and I quote "very good". Our server was also really on top of things, and checked on us several times throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed. Recently I made a long overdue initial visit to the tasting room at Lifted Spirits. It's a great spot! If I had access to a wormhole, I'd give my past self a shout out so I wouldn't miss out on years of delicious cocktails. But new discoveries has its rewards and the offerings are replete with them. Zeroing in on one of the many and varied cocktails isn't an easy task. There were about 17 I wanted to try. Fortunately, the friendly and knowledgeable server/mixologist came to the rescue, like an oracle, prophesizing a happy, buzzy future. So I highly recommend stopping by and having a drink or two. I can't believe it has taken me this long to review this place because it is always amazing. Lifted Spirits is one of those low-key places that always provides amazing flavors and drinks--definitely a place to take visitors and I can't wait to become a regular here. The place is not huge, but I can always find a seat! It is a smaller location than other bars nearby (next door is City Barrell and around the corner is King G), but I think this place blows the other options out of the water. The ambiance is comfortable, yet the combinations of the cocktails have me guessing and then LOVING. Last visit, we had drinks that were refreshing takes on an old fashioned and one was a take on I have no idea what--a mix of gin, pistachio and honey orgeat, Benedictine, velvet falernum, and lemon (Winter Vacation). We are huge Lifted Spirits fan. They are in the crossroads area of downtown right in the brewery crawl area. Their gins are A++ The bright gin is my favorite, it can be done straight and makes a great gimlet, G&T or anything with citrus. The bold gin is also a favorite. Use it to make an aviation or mule. It has a bold flavor but doesn't over take a drink. The supernova is my least favorite gin. It's a higher strength and goes good in a drink with more of a mixer. I am not a fan of dark liquors but my partner tried both their ryes after they were recommended to us. He was not a huge fan of the Madeira as it had a burn to it, more so than most ryes. The triple casket rye has a mint liquorish taste. Not a fan personally. If you like absinthe this may be for you. Any of the cocktails here are great too. They have fender neutral bathrooms and lgbtqia+ signs hanging throughout too. They are definitely a place that is safe for everyone. We attended Yelp Elite Badge Bash 2023 at Lifted Spirits Distillery and it was so. much. FUN! My husband and I are kicking ourselves for not visiting Lifted Spirits sooner. Their upstairs event space is awesome and spacious. Staff is super knowledgable and friendly. Cocktails are expertly made. I ordered a gimlet in the tasting room and it was one of the best cocktails I've had in Kansas City. (I don't say that lightly!) Shout out to our rockstar mixologist, Charlie! The distillery tour is engaging, educational and inspiring. Michael's passion for spirits and community left a lasting impression. It's no surprise Lifted Spirits was named Missouri's best gin distillery at the New York International Spirits Competition in Summer 2022. Really fun and laid back spot. Apparently the owner is my second cousin once removed (I think) so my dad was excited to go here when visiting from AR. It was a beautiful day and I love that on such days they're open to the outdoors. That plus some great early 2000s pop punk classics really made for a great atmosphere. Did you know this was one of the first distilleries in the metro? Thanks to Michael the owner and Sarah our CM for coordinating this Elite event. This a cool distillery with an interesting background and very yummy product. The various botanicals in the bold and brilliant brands cause it to stand out. I'm not a gin fan, but was converted after tasting it. All of the botanicals of citrus and other flavors dance on your tongue. It's a great space and the tasting room is inviting. Love love loved our experience at Lifted Spirits. To start, we booked a tour of the operations and were happy to find out that it was the owner that was going to lead it. We got to hear all about how he got started in the business and the process they use to make their spirits. A very neat behind the scenes look. Then we came out to their tasting room which had a bunch of tables in an indoor/outdoor space. We were very excited to try the spirits given the variety and uniqueness of a lot of the flavors. We went home with a couple of bottles... And when you visit you will too. The quality of the alcohol, the smoothness, the pure botanical flavors...it really is unbeatable. The space here is great and the drinks are always solid! I've been before with Yelp for an event and also with friends. Most recently, we did a bar crawl with a big group of people and this was one of our stops. When our big group walked in, the staff seemed a little annoyed at such a big group but I get it, it's a lot of single bar tabs to keep track of. But they quickly got everyones drink orders in and they drinks came so fast. Their classic G&T is a go-to. Their spirits are all delicious and I haven't had a bad drink yet. My friend and I was walking around the area (Art Alley) and we decided to tried a new place for drinks. We came in on time to tour and hear about the history of the building but also how they came up with this distillery. It's amazing how they started and how much work they used to make their gin, vodka and will soon have white whiskey and absinthe. Their crafted cocktails is amazing!! Having now been in here a few times I feel like I've got the lay of the land, and the verdict is in: This is a great joint in the Crossroads. When it comes to boozing, I'm more of a beer guy traditionally than a gin or vodka guy, but that doesn't stop me from really appreciating the spirits here. I feel like the quality is on a different level here and it's evident from the first sip. The space is beautiful; rustic and relaxing is how I'd sum it up. When you're in the main downstairs area you're surrounded by windows and a wooden bar that harkens back to the old stable days of this location. The upstairs event space is beautiful and a bit unique from the other event spaces in town. My kind of place and one that I feel like will be a hot spot for a long time in this area, especially as the east side of the Crossroads continues to pop with cool new businesses. read more

They house make all liquors here, and have such a huge variety! I tried this place for the first time at a yelp event, two years ago. I've since returned several times. Plenty to choose from. They have drinks that are based from vodka, absinthe, gin, amongst others. The bartenders really are honing in on their craft--they take the time to make each drink, add garnishes, and have open ears to help you make your best choice, depending on your favorite poison. I have been here a few times and let me tell you... this is a great little place to pick up some extremely delicious booze. I am personally enamored by the way that this shop has taken a second look at the cocktail and then made booze befitting of the cocktail. So many places go the other way around and make the booze then see what cocktails can be made from it. I believe that it is this difference in approach that sets Lifted Spirits apart. Now that sad part. I own all of their products and don't have extra room at my bar for more... which I am sure are coming down the pipe soon! This place was totally not what I expected. I was kind of expecting a quiet distillery tasting room type atmosphere and what we got was a more trendy bar setting. Miss Piggy and I had a lot of fun at this place, but Just be aware of what it is. If a Roccus bar atmosphere is what you're after, this is definitely the place for you. I had both an absinthe drip and a whiskey. The whiskey was fine (i'm a bit of a whiskey snob) but the absinthe was really top notch. I've had a lot of Asian and European absinthe in my travels and this one was right up there with the best I've ever had. The service was great as well! read more

We snagged a gimlet cocktail kit from Lifted Spirits during the stay-at-home order. We got it with the bright gin. It is delicious and fresh. You can call or order online. They offer curbside pickup too- you just call when you get there and they bring it out to your car. I was excited that this was truly a kit you put together at home- a bottle of gin, a bottle of lime and simple syrup mix, and limes for garnish. We are so disappointed in ourselves for not having visited Lifted Spirits before now!! I read in the paper recently that they make their own absinthe and do the traditional service so, having experienced this in Colorado, thought we needed to check it out. Our server, Kelsi, was amazing. She was attentive without being overly so and she knows the menu inside and out, able to make excellent suggestions when asked. She was the only server for much of the Saturday evening we were there and she handled it flawlessly. Thankfully, she kept us well hydrated, too! Ultimately, the absinthe itself was not our favorite but, wow, everything else is amazing!!! They have the best cocktail list we have seen for some time, with both a plentiful regular menu and an extensive Signature menu that changes seasonally. We met the creator of this menu, Sage, when she delivered us a sample of her Cereal Killer Milk Punch. We had been intrigued by this but rejected it as possibly too sweet considering the main ingredients is Fruity Pebbles milk. Were we wrong!! It is made like a traditional milk punch (I've only seen bourbon versions but this one was gin) and is not overly sweet, just a wonderful, smooth, somewhat fruity flavor. The vibe is casual, the building full of character and the music was perfect. I enjoyed facing the bar so I could see the crafters at work. We will definitely be back...with friends! read more

Happened to stumble upon this distillery and was very happy I did. Lifted spirits is small scale local distillery dishing up craft cocktails to show off their unique spirits. The place is fairly small but very laid back and open with lots of exposed wood. The cocktails are very adventurous and they take advantage of the need for seasonal things in people lives. The different alcohols they make allow much variety in the menu as many of the are infused with various flavors. read more
