Wow, what an incredible experience at Light My Fire! Maria, you're a rockstar! We were blown away by her exceptional customer service and expertise. She took the time to understand our taste buds and recommended the perfect hot sauce for us - and oh boy, it was AMAZING! The hot sauce was so good that we ended up buying a few bottles to take home. Maria's knowledge and passion for the products she sells are truly impressive. She made us feel like family, and we can't wait to come back and try more of her recommendations. If you're a hot sauce lover or just looking for a unique culinary experience, Light My Fire is a MUST-VISIT! And be sure to ask for Maria - she'll hook you up with the best sauce for your taste buds. 5 stars isn't enough; we'd give it 10 stars

Provender: this is a fantastic hot sauce novelty store inside the the food court/farmer's market area of The Grove. They have all sort of hot sauces from all over. This is a wonderful place to visit if you're looking for some spicy sauces. Prices: reasonable, the prices are listed at the bottom of the shelf for the respective sauces. Some hot sauces were around $7. Parking: since it's inside the food court there's plenty of parking spaces, if you can find one. People: fun for all, but best geared for the adult palate. Perks: this is a quaint mom-and-pop store inside the food court/farmer's market area that offers a wide selection of hot sauces. There's a $10 minimum if you're purchasing with a credit card, but you can easily reach this amount by buying two or more items. Friendly staff. There's a no photo/video policy inside the store.

If you are a hot sauce addict, this is the store that will cater to your any an every need of this delectable spice, we call hot. There are sauces from a wide range of local an international locations. The collection, is something to see and be in awe, hundreds, if not thousands of almost same size bottles, on shelves, with enticing names. And they go one step further, to help you choose. Sauces are categorized on the basis of their heat potential on a scale from 1 to 10+, with descriptions of how each stage would feel. Be brave. Try some out. Turn up the heat. Before it is time.

This is a small shop, they do offer a variety of Hot Bottle of Sauces. Variety of spicy levels and flavors. The lady/owner does need to have better customer service when interacting with customers.

Light My Fire is a small shop that sells hot sauce and is located in the original farmers market on Fairfax and 3rd in Los Angeles area also known as Beverly Grove. There's parking on 3rd Street and some vendors validate for about an hour and other vendor do NOT validate. This shop caught my attention, because some of the bottles had some expletive words on the labels( F word, Ass, etc) I am a fan of spicy hot sauces, but mostly rely on an actual chili pepper for spicy heat. Lots of spicy sauces/salsas have so much content of artificial ingredients, it's a turn off. Level of heat intensity is measured in terms of Scolville. American pharmacist Wilbur Scolville created the Scolville standard to measure heat spiciest intensity. See the attached pic chart for reference. This shop at the grove is very small and you can easily knock some bottles off the shelf upon movement. The shop keeper/person behind the register was NOT cordial, Unhelpful and actually acted bilious, barking orders, No Pics or No videos inside the shop! Geez, as if I'm going to steal proprietary rights, unlikely grumpy pants. He desperately needs a billion Scolville to spark his attitude. I was about to purchase a 6 pack of a hot sauce with the crudest label, but with the rude unprofessional attitude the shop person exhibited, I decided not to buy a darn thing. Most of the pics I took from outside the glass window. Due to non existent customer service, I can not recommend this shop, my generous 3 star rating is for the funny labels on the hot sauce bottles.

This sauce sucks and I wish I could get my money back. Spice level is more like 4

Cool store but half their stuff is good, interesting stuff and the other half is cheap stuff. I asked the girl about a sauce I was curious about and I would have loved if she woulda been honest and transparent with me and just told me it was trash. This hot sauce was $15!!! I wouldn't pay more than $4 for this thing. They really need to consider their prices based on quality. And maybe not carry crappy sauces. Also, spice lever should be 4.

This place is billed as THE place to go to for hot sauces and spicy snacks. It is located on the Original Farmers Market. The lady, who runs the store, was helpful in helping us select some hot sauces and snacks. There s no taste testing, so you have to read the labels and ask for recommendations. The store is pretty cramped, but all the shelves are stacked with bottles of hot sauce. If you have a difficult time choosing, there are gift packs.

Come on baby light my fire which The Lizard King once sang right here. Folks Ive found the KING OF ALL HOT SAUCE boutiques in SoCal. Cruising through The Farmers Market last Sunday at THE GROVE I discovered the house of heat. Really a shop dedicated to hot sauce's to commit Hara-kiri to your tastebuds. In this house of pain I'd estimate about 1000 different hot sauce bottles fill with mild to flame thrower heat. Some of these look so hot there in double containers to avoid touch. The only bottle I couldn't not find was MAD ANTHONY Hit sauce by the original one and only Van Halen bass player Michael Anthony. If your looking for the extreme flame look for the Habanero bottles to give to the kids for there meal. They will never ask for seconds again after that experience. Anyways shopping local is a must so grab a basket of hot sauce. Also make sure to get your ticket validated after your purchase for FREE PARKING in the Farmers Market lot. I'm on fire!!!!!

Rows and rows of hot sauce! The best!

I thoroughly enjoy hot sauces so, I collect them and go through them quickly. I eat the stuff on everything. I am a regular customer here and the same nice lady is always working. She also has a shop in Vegas so she is one busy woman! She always remembers us though! I have a fave Jamaican scotch bonnet pepper sauce (Eaton's) I get here as well as a Marie Sharp's grapefruit habanero. There are hotter ones, 10 plus-plus but no worries, the shelves are all labelled 1-10 re. hotness. (Wimps on the store sheet are marked as a 1!) I find the prices so reasonable at $4-$5 for my particular sauces. They make great gifts too. The store is always neat and clean. There is so much variety and I have never seen an expired product. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the Farmer's market at the Grove is so fun!

This is a crazy, fun store, and with my nephew who views food as the hotter, the better, I could not leave this store without buying him 3 bottles of hot sauce. I bought him bottles that ranged 8 or 9 on the hotness chart.......and it goes hotter than 10, calling it "off the charts." Those seemed to all be made with "ghost" peppers. My daughter bought her boyfriend some of that stuff, which make the habaneros that typically make up the 8-10's look like child's play. Anyway, I am not into the sauces myself...... I like very little heat, if any, but I have to say, the labels were downright amusing, if not hilarious. I wish I could remember the names of all 3 that I purchased, but the only one I can remember now is "Megasore-ass." The other two were far more crass than that.......and totally hilarious, right up my nephew's alley. If you're into hot sauce, you need to find your way down here !!! The volume of hot sauces/varieties is downright amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

They have a ton of exciting options when it comes to caffeination! Like with everything here, the options are endless for coffee. I've actually eaten here many times and must say that the sandwiches are delicious but are truly a haute mess! Meaning they have so many ingredients are so packed with deliciousness that I always need a bunch of napkins as an egg oozes out or arugula falls all over. That being said, some highlights of things I've had are their meatball sub that was 1000% better than anything you'd get from Subway. I've also tried the pastrami sandwich and loved it. I absolutely love the Grappa di Mattina with Fresh-Cracked Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Tomato, Avocado, Arugula and Aioli on Sourdough Toast! The only thing that was disappointing was the bread got very soggy and the sandwich kind of fell apart when eating it. So eat all their sandwiches asap after ordering, preferably when still in the shop. Their chocolate chip cookies are a great deal at 4 for $6.50 and are solid 4 star cookies. They also have a mini market inside with a ton of wine and other liquor options, a gelato stand with a lot of options or you can grab prepacked pints, so many gorgeous desserts done beautifully. There's just so many options when you come here! Haute Mess has such a huge menu that I can keep trying new things each time I'm in. And thus far, nothing has disappointed me! I'll definitely be back to keep working my way through their eats.

The Food: We ordered the supreme pizza which can feed 4 people (2 slices per person) which I feel like it was pretty accurate unless someone is super hungry. The supreme pizza was amazing - it was filled with so many toppings but not too many where it made the pizza soggy. The pizza is made fresh - we saw the person in the back making our pizza when we ordered it - and it didn't take long either. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy and it held the sauce well. It was very well balanced. Price: $30 ish per pizza; about $5 a slice. I think it's super reasonable for the quality of pizza that you get. I would definitely pay this price for this pizza.
