Beautiful spot in Newport Beach perfect for date nights, anniversaries, birthdays etc. My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary and it was so special. The view was amazing, weather was perfect, and the ambience was perfect. We were lucky enough to get a seat upstairs which was just beautiful in itself. Our server Ignacio was very professional, courteous, and efficient. We started off with an espresso martini which let's just say did the job for us lol! Then for our starter we got the Filet crostini which was 10/10 in our books, steak was beautifully cooked it was well done but was not lacking in juiciness. We then ordered our entrees, steak chilaquiles was 8/10 flavor was great couldn't taste certain ingredients within the chilaquiles but nevertheless it was great. Then we ordered the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes which definitely was 9/10! Super yummy, fluffy and bouncy pancakes. The food was good, and I really enjoyed it. The side salad had a lot of olive dressing, but it was decent. The service was amazing; the lady was checking if we were okay and if we needed help. The ambiance is pretty nice, not very crowded, which is amazing. I wonder how it gets during the weekends. It's easy to find parking and it's a beautiful cafe. Went here for brunch. Managed to accommodate a large group us on a side by side booth inside. The staff was very patient and nice. The food was good but it's a bit expensive. $20 for pancakes. I had the fish tacos and they were good. It's conveniently located next to a large community park. We had the kids orders in first. Parking is paid. Ive been wanting to try this place simply for the view of the dock. It's a little bit small and quaint indoors, with limited outdoor seating. It was also pretty chilly due to being by the water. I noticed they do have heat lamps which is good. I ordered a Bloody Mary which came with pepperocinis, cornichons, and salami slices. It had a nice kick to it. I also order the fried cod fish which came with slaw and fries. Over all, the meal was presented well and tasted fresh. Hubby order the chicken and waffles which came as a chicken sandwich between 2 waffles. The syrup was rich and spicy. Not sure if we liked that combination. My hubby sent back the Caesar salad because it had anchovies in it. Clam chowder was really tasty and thick with bacon bits. One thing I did notice was the limited menu as we went during lunch time. We started off our vacation with dinner at the Lighthouse! The food was so great and the atmosphere was perfect for date night. Before dinner we went for a walk on the beach and then walked right in. The outside seating was so popular so unfortunately they didn't have anything available for us. But where we did sit ended up being great because we were still able to look out to the water. As we ate, the manager Andrew, came up to check on us multiple times and lit our candle for us. We could see what a great job he was doing, even going as far as sweeping around the restaurant. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The clam chowder is perfect comfort food and the shrimp pasta was so yummy! read more

The Breakfast burrito was so delicious and comes with a flavorful salsa. I came for my birthday and they make it fun! They bring out cinnamon sugar beignets for a birthday with a candle. The lemon ricotta pancakes are SO delicious! Fluffy and not too sweet. The turkey pesto sandwich has very little pesto so if you're not a huge pesto lover, you can definitely do it. It has a good amount of cheese and comes with a spring salad with a tangy delicious vinaigrette and fries. The location is nice. It's on the balboa marina area and overlooks water and boats. Well... this place is definitely situated in a light house--meaning there's ample seating on the first floor (ground level) and additional (awkward to get around) on the top floor. Tip: if you check in on yelp, you get a free plate of cinnamon sugar beignets which taste like puffy toaster strudels (where are my millennials at!). My table ordered the clams with crustinis, bacon wrapped jalapeños, and lobster Mac to share (all were delicious). I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes. Good but didn't wow me. I had been wanting to check this place out as I have walked by it multiple times on our visits to Newport. We finally got around to visiting during brunch for my daughter's graduation. Overall it did not meet expectations and I wouldn't revisit. Much better options in Newport. Pros are that it has nice scenery, reservations were easy for a party of 9 and the server was nice. Actual service was kind of slow and food was not memorable. My kids and husband liked the clam chowder - said that the best thing. Husband did not care for his fish n chips ... the fish looked like a fish stick out of a frozen pack but my husband said costco fishsticks were way better. He was sorely disappointed. Our relatives liked the lobster mac n cheese - kids thought it was pretty fishy. My egg white omelette was ok although I asked for it to be really overcooked and it was still pretty wet. Their Mimosa Brunch is a great deal and affords you plenty of mimosas. (Entree purchase required). We tried the cinnamon beignets as a starter, too. Flaky, sugary and warm, they're a lovely start. (Took the rest home and they warm up just great). For entrees, I went with the Pan Roasted Sea Bass. With such a huge menu, you probably couldn't go wrong with anything, but I definitely recommend the Sea Bass. It's hearty and flavorful without being heavy. Let's face it, sometimes Brunch can be a carb slog that sticks with you a little too long. Especially after indulging in the beignets, this dish very much satisfied. The sea bass is perfectly cooked, has simple flavors, and great veggies, too in the form of kale, peas, broccoli and cauliflower. My dining date had Eggs Benedict, and was happy. It's super rich (as these typically are), and come with delicious breakfast potatoes. Service was great - even when there was a changing of the guard. We have been visiting Newport Beach every summer for years and last weekend was out 1st time at the Lighthouse. Nice place for lunch or dinner thanks to a decent menu and great waterfront view. The setting is great. Lighthouse is just off the harbor. It has a convenient parking lot, plus is next to a playground if you happen to have the kids with you. The food and service were good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant was somewhat busy, but our server was attentive. The menu wasn't large, but have enough variety for the adults and kids. Saw that The Lighthouse was voted #1 for the Best Tasting locally Famous Lobster Roll in Newport Beach. It's is according to my wife that ordered it. Best she ever had! (Came with their fresh homemade chips-delicious). We shared a very fresh shrimp cocktail with homemade fresh nacho chips that my wife tried out, again delicious! I had a craving for their steak and eggs dinner, with2 extra eggs which they accommodated for me (I on the Keto Diet) with a small dinner salad. We sat outside as the weather was perfect watching the boats sail by. The table service was fantastic. Manager Andrew always came by to check on us to see if we needed anything. He told us about their new happy hour items and drinks that appeared to be very reasonable in price and we plan to go during those times again. We learned that the owners of this café are also the owners of the beachcomber restaurant on the beach by the state owned beach cottages . We have been there too. It's very beautiful. One thing about the lighthouse Café is that it has plenty of room for parking, Again, manager Andrew and his staff were fantastic. Everything tasted great, and give us some of the samples to try out on their happy hour menu and they were delicious along with a happy hour drink that tasted great, it was well worth the money . Yes we will be back again. I believe on their website they have a YouTube video showing where the judges in Newport Beach taste test several others lobster rolls in the area and voted the LightHouse Café having the best one! Had to eat it with a fork and knife to avoid having saucy hands. Bacon was extremely salty. The tortilla was dry. Salsa was the best part of this dish. I found this place for a work dinner when our team building event ended a little down the way. They said they couldn't take reservations for a group of 15, which was too bad for them since when we were done, they were empty. Anyway, when looking at yelp to see what is good for groups, this lovely establishment popped up. I gave them a call and reserved a table for my group without a problem. It was a lovely day and we were seated outside on the patio. When I arrived, the person I spoke to flashed me a smile and said something to the effect of, "oh hey! I was the one that took your reservation!", which gave me some warm fuzzies since he said it with such enthusiasm. :) I chose this place as it has something for everyone. Like fish, check! Like red meat? check! Chicken? Yup! No meat? Yup, options for that too! I ended up getting the shrimp pasta but everyone's food looked amazing. We had several appetizers as well, which included coconut shrimp, calamari, brussels sprouts, grilled artichoke... all of it was great! I've been trying to cut down on my red meat (so hard!), and opted to get the shrimp pasta and a blackberry margarita. So delicious! The shrimp was big and the tomato sauce was just right. My boyfriend got the Lighthouse Burger and was jealous from the minute both plates were on the table. He ranked the burger 3.8/5 - nothing wrong with it, but wouldn't come back specifically for it.
