We have loved this place for several years but with name change, who knows what happened? Maybe we just ordered wrong. Burger does not come with fried pickles anymore even though the menu says it does. Fries were like warm and liked salt..Chicken used to be great and now it's forgettable...If you go, try the trout or pork chop. They were always good. Won't be back anytime soon, unfortunately. Our server was good. Took care of the burger. Reserved a spot on open table " standard" was seated outside. Very loud.

The bee's knees is just that!! My husband and I were looking for something new to try and we are so happy we landed here. We were greeted by the owner and seated right away. We were there for breakfast but so happy we could order from the lunch menu as well. We tried the fried green tomatoes which were delicious! I got the lump crab cake with the potato hash. The crab cake was perfection, slightly crispy on the outside and had a great flavor. Potato hash was well seasoned. Love the little baguette toasts with the jam. We even got to try the apple beignets which were so good and not overly sweet. Excited to come back and try more of the menu! Very cute inside with lots of outdoor seating. Restrooms were nice and clean.

Came here on a Thursday around 9:15am and was able to sit wherever we wanted as it wasn't busy I'm impressed by their crab cake hash as it was a good amount of crab and the potatoes were soft and seasoned well. My friend and I enjoyed the beignets. It's not your usual type as it was a bit dense and crispy, but with great flavors. I'll have to come back and try their happy hour from 5-6pm Tuesday-Sunday

I cannot believe I lived near Newport for 3 years and had not heard of Tupelo Junction!! This place was incredible!! Adorable little southern kitchen with amazing food. Our server was really great -- sweet and funny! Our table ordered the biscuit with jumbleberry jam, cinnamon apple beignets, dungeness crab cakes, huevos rancheros, and fried chicken salad with cornbread. Everything was a hit! The jumbleberry jam was to die for, so flavorful. Obviously, the beignets were delicious, especially paired with the creme anglaise and caramel. All our main dishes were such large plates and so filling. I can't wait to return, but until then, I highly recommend Tupelo Junction!

Such a cute place! It reminds me of Cape Cod Massachusetts. The menu was big and full of delicious looking items! I came all the way from Vegas for this! The service matched. The grits omg best I've ever had. The shrimp was overcooked but still great flavor! Eggs amazing! Biscuit was way too hard but the jam was so so so good!

Loooooove me some Tupelo, we always have a good time here breakfast lunch or dinner it always is just right. Dinning here is always easy as people don't know about it so usually have space and attentive wait staff. We went big with a gift card and ordered the fried chicken salad to start, then the sloppy Joe and the pork. All of which are just fantastic options. The only thing I would love to see here is a new menu item, I have had this menu multiple times and it's all so good. But man a nice weekly special or something new would really excite me. They do such a good job and some new flair would go a long way. Love you Tupelo!

First time here and will definitely be back! Enjoyed the crab cake and the jambalaya. Both delicious. Service was also top notch! Very cute place with nice ambience.

Get the "char grilled white cheddar burger w caramelized onions if you want a burger"! It might just be the best burger I have tasted. The bun is so unique and the jalapeños inside were fried. Just wow. Also, whatever else they got going on in the burger was a great idea the texture was just amazing. Parking was very easy for newport, all the other items on the menu were good, and service was very friendly. This is a great cafe.

Inconspicuous upon entry. Surprisingly charming. Staff was incredibly friendly. Bartender made great drinks. Even the cappuccino had a little smiley face. The fried chicken salad was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Everything we had was just delicious. Really enjoyable. Worth a visit.

Saw some enticing Yelp reviews and we gave this place a go. It's ok. Hits on some, misses on some. It's on the Lido side of the Balboa peninsula, so parking could be a bit of an adventure when it's busy. We lucked out and were able to get one right out front. Small joint set in an old school house. Small bar with indoor and outdoor seating. We got the seared ahi, fried chicken salad with cornbread, and the jambalaya. We started with fried green tomatoes and capped it off with the apple beignets. Good variety of drinks available, though no beer on tap. Bottles only. Fried green tomatoes came with corn salsa. Solid. Seared Ahi was decent as was the fried chicken salad. Jambalaya was sub par. Came with clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and chicken. And the requisite rice. I think they should keep it simple and just go with chicken, shrimp and sausage. Also, some bread woulda been nice with this dish to soak up the broth. Ok. The beignets. Not the usual, light airy type. These were more like burnt, deformed cake donut holes. Overcooked to the point where the bits of apple were crispy. Service was friendly, but a little slow. Pricing is a little high, but on par with the area. If you come here and raise the 4.5 star flag, hey it's all good. For us, just ok.

What a great find for brunch! Loved the cocktails and all of our food was amazing. I ended up getting the crab and it was so fresh. Not the imitation crab but real crab meat. Restaurant is small but offered outside seating. It was also packed. Our server was awesome and attentive We are definitely coming back.

This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I came across it by accident and fell in love with it immediately, we have been back several times since for brunch but this time went in for my husband's birthday dinner and it was just as amazing as their brunch!! Everyone at our table loved the food! Our server was the one of the owners and he was fantastic, he even surprised us with a birthday dessert. Would highly recommend!!

It wasn't overly sweet like a lot of brunch spots tend to do. The balance was just right, letting the flavors shine without feeling like dessert for breakfast. The blueberries, maple syrup, and cream brought everything together perfectly. The spicy shrimp pasta was equally impressive. It had a great kick to it, but the spice didn't overpower the dish. You could still taste all the flavors of the pasta, shrimp, and sauce. That's a rare thing because too many places mistake heat for flavor. Great Maple got it right. The restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign, but despite the crowd, the service never slipped. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. If I had one minor complaint, it's that the popularity means you should expect a wait during peak hours. But after eating here, it's easy to understand why it's packed. Excellent food, attentive service, and a brunch experience that's worth coming back for. Human beings may disagree on politics, sports, and whether pineapple belongs on pizza, but Great Maple serving great food feels like one of the easier things to agree on.

The entire place had full of life and is very clean. Our server today is Matt and he did an amazing job taking care of us. Very respectful and mindful and was happy to serve us which is a huge plus for me as customer service is also a defining factor for dining in my book. My family and I ordered a variety of dishes however I will be writing based on what I ordered personally / shared with and have eaten. Brew Bears - Cinnamon Toast (4/5): Our server Matt recommended this to me so I decided to order it to try it out. The drink comes in a small bear shape cup and had a soft and fluffy maple syrup + cinnamon foam. The drink is good and not too sweet which is a plus. Only downside is that the drink is fairly small and for $10, I would at least expect it to be in a larger size. Famous Maple Bacon Donuts (5/5): These were delicious! Very soft and fluffy; the maple glaze is sweet and gooey, and the bacon has a nice smoke to it which complimented the sweet maple notes. The donuts were clearly freshly made which we really appreciate. Be careful though as my family and I ordered 3 orders (3 pcs / order) and didn't realize how big each donut is! It is very filling and might make you too full for the other dishes if you normally don't eat a lot. Mac and Cheese (3.5/5): I ordered this alongside both the chili bacon bits and shrimp add-ons. The Mac and cheese came with spiral shaped pasta with a panko crust and white cheese. The overall taste to me is decent; nothing that really stood out to me but it was still good. The amount of shrimp provided vs the cost for the add-on (+$7) wasn't worth it for the small pieces and overall portion. I did also get some fettuccini pasta noodles towards the bottom of the dish which threw me off. Not sure if that's intended or by accident. Parmesan Truffle Fries (5/5): The fries we ordered came in hot and fresh with a side of ketchup. There was ALOT of flavor and you can really taste the truffle. The texture for the fries was nice and crispy to perfection. Overall, we did have a great experience and I do see myself coming back some time in the future. I would probably change up a few orders to try different things out.

I wish they came with more than just four pieces. They are almost like pot pie wontons. We also ordered the three dips. Only one was edible. The hummus was so salty that we couldn't even eat that. Then there was a plain yogurt, which was boring. Lastly, there was the tzatziki, which was good. It came with flatbread and carrots and was beautifully presented. We also ordered the garlic meatballs. The meatballs had no flavor. They were covered in cheese and sauce and then there was a head of garlic on top. The garlic was cooked down too much so you couldn't get any garlic flavor. I would not order this again. We also got the chicken nuggets because they were popular, but honestly, they just tasted like deep fried overly cooked chicken nuggets. I would not order this again. Lastly, we got the wedge salad. This was a really boring salad with not a lot of flavor or toppings. The bacon on top was hard and inedible. Overall, an underwhelming dining experience, and I won't be back

I left at approximately 2:22 p.m. The atmosphere was great, but I was disappointed with the service. My server, Candy, checked on me only a couple of times during my visit. I understand that servers get busy, and I have no issue when another team member delivers food or drinks. However, after my drink arrived, I waited quite a while without anyone checking back in. Eventually, I had to go inside and ask the bartender for my check because no one had come by. When Candy saw me inside, she mentioned that she had been keeping an eye on me. I respectfully told her I was disappointed because I didn't feel attended to. I have worked in the restaurant industry myself, and my brother has been a General Manager for The Cheesecake Factory, so I understand how demanding restaurant service can be. This did not seem like a situation where the restaurant was overwhelmed, as it was not particularly busy during my visit. I want to be clear that my intention is not to get anyone in trouble. In fact, I still left Candy a good tip because I know firsthand how challenging serving can be. My hope is simply that Gulfstream reminds its staff to give the same level of attention to every guest, including those seated in the outdoor lounge area. Every customer should feel equally valued, regardless of where they are seated.
