Having lived in Orange County for 20+ years, I was excited to see this restaurant pop-up on OpenTable when I was looking for a place to go for Father's Day. We booked a 6 PM reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. We placed our order by 6:10 PM and by 6:40 our appetizers still had not come. It also took about 20 minutes to get drinks, including water. They were out of the drinks (beer) that we ordered and they were also out of the first two entrées (ahi, then scallops) that I tried to order as well. What are entrées finally did arrive. I was disappointed to see that my soup had congealed on the top because it had been sitting in the back and ready for too long before it was brought out to me. Overall, the flavors were good and the food was decent my husband and I haven't yet decided if we think we'll make a return trip based on this experience. He had the fried chicken and enjoyed it. My son had the mac & cheese and he enjoyed that as well.

We have loved this place for several years but with name change, who knows what happened? Maybe we just ordered wrong. Burger does not come with fried pickles anymore even though the menu says it does. Fries were like warm and liked salt..Chicken used to be great and now it's forgettable...If you go, try the trout or pork chop. They were always good. Won't be back anytime soon, unfortunately. Our server was good. Took care of the burger. Reserved a spot on open table " standard" was seated outside. Very loud.

Came here for brunch last week and had such a cute place. The restaurant itself is adorable and feels like a cozy little home, which made the whole meal feel really comfortable and charming. I ordered the eggs with bacon, and my boyfriend ordered the eggs Benedict. The Benedict was honestly the best I've ever had. The hollandaise was amazing, and I'm usually not even a big fan of hollandaise, but this one completely changed my mind. I would definitely order it again. YUMMM I also loved the seasoned potatoes. The bacon wasn't my favorite because it had a very smoky taste, but overall everything was good and I would definitely come back.

Super cute spot! On the outside it looks like an house, but on the inside it's a full restaurant with a bar inside and a small patio out back. The staff were wonderful, you could tell each on cared about their service and wanted to ensure the costumers were satisfied. Bonus! The food was delicious as were the drinks. Would absolutely return and recommend to anyone

Lump crab cake with hash... delicious!

The bee's knees is just that!! My husband and I were looking for something new to try and we are so happy we landed here. We were greeted by the owner and seated right away. We were there for breakfast but so happy we could order from the lunch menu as well. We tried the fried green tomatoes which were delicious! I got the lump crab cake with the potato hash. The crab cake was perfection, slightly crispy on the outside and had a great flavor. Potato hash was well seasoned. Love the little baguette toasts with the jam. We even got to try the apple beignets which were so good and not overly sweet. Excited to come back and try more of the menu! Very cute inside with lots of outdoor seating. Restrooms were nice and clean.

Came here on a Thursday around 9:15am and was able to sit wherever we wanted as it wasn't busy I'm impressed by their crab cake hash as it was a good amount of crab and the potatoes were soft and seasoned well. My friend and I enjoyed the beignets. It's not your usual type as it was a bit dense and crispy, but with great flavors. I'll have to come back and try their happy hour from 5-6pm Tuesday-Sunday

I cannot believe I lived near Newport for 3 years and had not heard of Tupelo Junction!! This place was incredible!! Adorable little southern kitchen with amazing food. Our server was really great -- sweet and funny! Our table ordered the biscuit with jumbleberry jam, cinnamon apple beignets, dungeness crab cakes, huevos rancheros, and fried chicken salad with cornbread. Everything was a hit! The jumbleberry jam was to die for, so flavorful. Obviously, the beignets were delicious, especially paired with the creme anglaise and caramel. All our main dishes were such large plates and so filling. I can't wait to return, but until then, I highly recommend Tupelo Junction!

Spicy Bloody Mary and old fashioned which my husband says was excellent

Quaint restaurant in Newport Beach that is bright with friendly staff. We started our brunch with a spicy Bloody Mary which was delicious and my husband had an old fashioned which he said was excellent!!! Bartender was busy and made great cocktails. I ordered my go to brunch meal...avocado toast with egg and so good with fresh ingredients and generous portion. My husband ordered the breakfast wrap and said it was really good and this was our first time visit! We would definitely come back and with the visit!

Such a cute place! It reminds me of Cape Cod Massachusetts. The menu was big and full of delicious looking items! I came all the way from Vegas for this! The service matched. The grits omg best I've ever had. The shrimp was overcooked but still great flavor! Eggs amazing! Biscuit was way too hard but the jam was so so so good!

Loooooove me some Tupelo, we always have a good time here breakfast lunch or dinner it always is just right. Dinning here is always easy as people don't know about it so usually have space and attentive wait staff. We went big with a gift card and ordered the fried chicken salad to start, then the sloppy Joe and the pork. All of which are just fantastic options. The only thing I would love to see here is a new menu item, I have had this menu multiple times and it's all so good. But man a nice weekly special or something new would really excite me. They do such a good job and some new flair would go a long way. Love you Tupelo!

Get the "char grilled white cheddar burger w caramelized onions if you want a burger"! It might just be the best burger I have tasted. The bun is so unique and the jalapeños inside were fried. Just wow. Also, whatever else they got going on in the burger was a great idea the texture was just amazing. Parking was very easy for newport, all the other items on the menu were good, and service was very friendly. This is a great cafe.

Decided to drive down to Newport for the day, wound up browsing the shops at Fashion Island, and…read morethen wound up having lunch at Great Maple, one of the better, sit-down restaurants at the center. It's a bright and airy venue, with thick, clubby stools at the bar and a dual, indoor/outdoor dining area that's just right for the coastal California locale. We arrived near the end of the lunch rush, so we were quickly seated by the friendly Hostess, though there were still plenty of folks eating, and a lively buzz was still thrumming through the room. It was just the right energy for a Saturday lunch. Our server, Darren, was a hoot, with a slight shimmy to his step and personality for days -- sometimes that can be a bit much, but in this case his charisma added a much appreciated charm to the meal. While we didn't imbibe at this sitting, they do have a full bar with a nice selection of cocktails suitable for brunch or dinner, and it's easy to imagine whiling away quite a few hours here at another opportunity. The menu offers a number of clever twists on brunch and lunch mainstays, especially house-made doughnuts and a few Benedicts that push all the buttons of "well, this is something appealingly different." That said, we were just tad boring today as diners, ordering a Burger and the house BLT. We may have made some ordinary-sounding decisions, but Great Maple's versions of these favorites were far from ordinary at all. The burger is made with high quality beef that has just the right amount of fat to make it juicy while retaining the integrity of the flavor of the meat. Cheese, veggies and a fresh brioche bun rounded out the presentation, as did a perfectly achieved pink medium rare. This was a very good, very satisfying burger served with crispy, shoestring fries that really hit the spot. The BLT is built on Levain sourdough that is thick-cut and lightly toasted, and holds up nicely against the moisture in the tomatoes and bright, leafy lettuce. Aioli had a noticeable but mild, and very enjoyable, garlic accent that played really well with everything, walking the line between "spread" and "dressing," and becoming a meaningful component of the sandwich rather than being just an adornment. But the star of the sandwich was the smoky bacon, cut thick enough to retain a pleasing chew while also boasting the kind of char and crisp that make for the most enjoyable bacon on a sandwich. Really, this was a terrific BLT, far above what you normally get, and, as I said before, not anywhere near as ordinary as you may think. So, a very good lunch at Great Maple, and very good reason to plan another visit very soon. Kudos to everyone.

We got the wagyu hangar- flavor was really good but tough meat which was expected, it came with potatoes which were perfectly toasted and flavorful glazed bass - yummy, but no real side dish which is crazy for $38 brussel sprouts- good but not a wow dish tomato soup - so so so good, maybe the best thing here. Ambiance was cute and there was a good amount of shade outdoors. I don't fully understand what they are going for here. The prices are pretty up there so it's not quite what I would consider a casual restaurant. Service was friendly but I found it a little weird that most of the girls working here were in crop tops and lots of them no bras so there's that too. Overall the food was decent, nothing that gets me wanting to come back for it. Ambiance was fine but its so competitive out here that I'm not sure this is the spot you would choose to eat when in Newport.

We waited about 40 minutes for chicken nuggets that were dry and tough, which cost $18. And a small portion of fries for $14! Tax and tip you're looking at $45+ for below average nuggets and fries. Staff seemed very young and clearly overworked, overwhelmed, and stressed. I wouldn't be surprised if the kitchen was understaffed and overwhelmed as well. Hopefully they can improve things here, but the experience didn't come close to justifying these prices.

Shrimp cocktail 8.86/10- this was pretty good, the cocktail sauce is good. Normally the shrimp is bigger but other than that it was very good. Crab cake 8.32/10- this was okay, just overly buttery. Normally the butter amount they use is perfect but today it was just overflowing in butter. Emerald kale salad side 4.26/10- this is my favorite salad ever but today it was absolutely drenched in sauce. It was honestly hard to eat as it just tasted like dressing. My mom also got the chopped vegetable salad and asked for it to be lightly dressed, but her salad was overly dressed too. They had given us plain extra greens to try to subsidize the extreme dressing, but this was quite disappointing. Tres leches 1/10- this is my absolute favorite dessert but today it was terrible. The tres leches had a very sour taste to it, and it's normally so fluffy and light but today it was super dense. The sour flavor was absolutely terrible though, since it's supposed to be milky. I'm not sure if there's a new chef, but today the food was just not good and it almost felt like a joke. We have been coming to Gulfstream for 16 years now and the tres leches have never been sour.
