This was my first time here. I don't frequent here so I am unsure how the parking usually is but we found parking right away and not far from the place. Inside was beautiful. The first few floors are the furniture and the top floor is where the restaurant is. The staff were all really nice and attentive. They were all professional. I got the shaved ribeye dip and it did not disappoint! It was delicious! My friend also got truffle fries and I highly recommend. The garlic aioli it came with was phenomenal and I would go back just for that aioli. Overall really nice high end place to have a cute brunch. read more

You know you're in for not only a culinary treat, but also a visual one when dining inside a Restoration Hardware. RH Ocean Grill is a truly design lover's dream, with some of the prettiest aesthetics you'll find in a rooftop restaurant, featuring sparkling chandeliers, olive trees, and a stone fountain. The interior and exterior are both exceptionally gorgeous, with the latter offering spectacular panoramic views of the California coastline. But enough about the design. How do the food and drinks stack up? We ordered the fried artichokes, lobster roll, bluefin toro caviar carpaccio, and steak frites. Safe to say, every dish was a hit; I'd highly recommend each one. From the cocktail menu, the Rosé Spritz was worth ordering more than once, while the Paloma Rose also made an excellent (and deceptively strong) choice. The only issue we had here was the service, which could've been better. Our waiter didn't really check on us after taking our order, and we had to flag him down each time we needed something. Our reservation was around 6:30 PM which was perfect because we were able to enjoy our dinner during sunset time. The salmon was cooked perfectly in my opinion and the mashed potatoes had lots of flavor. The lamb chops were also cooked well, but we're a bit small. The grilled shrimp was the star of the show. There was lots of flavor and I would definitely recommend trying this as an appetizer. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. RH is my ideal place for a special occasion outing. They are consistently beautiful across all locations, and their interior and atmosphere is super hard to beat. I love how the interior space still makes you feel like you are outside, and the fountains and chandeliers are just lovely. For the price point, service could be better. They were also remarkably busy and sat us 10 minutes late for our reservation. Food took a while which was fine because we were enjoying our time there, but I did notice this. The couple next to us even had to ask the server again about their food. I had much higher expectations from an RH location, to be honest. I also wanted to point out that I love the mini RH lobster rolls and have had them at other locations. There was a noticeably lacking amount of lobster compared to my other experiences. Definitely room for improvement. Looking at the photos from this location versus other times I have gone are so disappointing. Can't say I'd come back to this location. It's also well-seasoned. - French Rotisserie Chicken: 4.7/5. One of our favs. You can order in half or whole, the meat comes out tender, juicy and flavorful. Mini potatoes are also well seasoned, overall things complemented well to each other. - Truffle Fries: 5/5!! Lots of natural lighting here & there's also a balcony outside where you can overlook the ocean. This place is definitely one of those instagram-esque places to celebrate special occasions. Our server was incredibly sweet and checked-in on several occasions without over doing it. We had placed a reservation in advance and waited roughly 10-14 minutes to be seated. The staff also took note of our request for a little sweet treat for my birthday, which I really appreciated! Aside from the gorgeous interior/decor & pleasant customer service, I do not see myself returning as it's one of those special occasion places when looking for fine-dining. Price point is extremely steep (as expected); however, my main gripe are the portion sizes. We ordered: - steak frites $54 - shaved ribeye sandwich $38 //// the steak frites was pretty good, but it being a "bavette" cut -- it's not a premium cut compared to ribeye, etc. so for the price point & portion size, it's unreasonable. as for the sandwich, it was underwhelming & cold. the portion size was basically a snack. The restaurant is on the 4th floor of the RH building, and I was wandering around looking for the elevator, but the downstairs staff was so kind and actually walked me over. Our server seemed busy, but still very sweet and attentive, and everyone bringing out food and drinks had such warm energy and smiles. One of my friends mentioned the service feels much better now compared to when they first opened, so maybe that explains some of the older lower ratings?? Stopped in on a whim and was seated within five minutes. I sat outside on the patio by a water fountain and it was so peaceful with the ocean breeze. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The classic Caesar with filet mignon was honestly one of the best and most unique Caesar salads I've had. The dressing had this bright citrus, almost lemon like flavor that made it fresh, vibrant and completely different from a traditional Caesar. So delicious. The truffle fries were crispy and addicting. I had the Pierre Sparr Brut Rosé Crémant d'Alsace, which was perfect for the patio, followed by an espresso cocktail with Belvedere Vodka, Mr Black coffee liqueur and cold brew. I decided to treat my mother & myself out for a brunch as a mother's day gift and as a birthday present to myself. I was a bit lost finding the restaurant, as I hadn't realized it was on the top floor of the 4 story RH Gallery building. I decided to step into the gallery to ask for directions, only to be led to their elevator that was hidden away down the hall. Stepping in, I was bewildered by the gorgeous accents and attention to detail of the interior. It felt like I was in a royal greenhouse garden prepared for tea time. Everyone was so kind and quick to assist despite being so busy. Even as my mother had asked for our photos to be taken, one of the servers took his time to snap a few pictures and made sure we were happy with the outcome. The food was served instantaneously and everything was fresh, no complaints there! It was my second ever time trying lamb chops and I've got to say, I definitely enjoy it a lot more than I did my first. As for complaints.. After notifying our server about my casein/dairy allergy, our truffle fries still came with grated cheese and the cookie, I'm assuming, likely had dairy. There was also an obnoxiously large cube ice in my drink, so there was hardly 3 shots of nonalcoholic beverage in my glass. My mother absolutely loved every bit of it though! RH was always on my bucket list having heard great things about it. Upon arrival the ambiance did not disappoint. We were seated at a corner table with a view of the ocean. We started with drinks and appetizers. The cocktails and Burrata were good but the Salmon Caviar Carpaccio was not something we'd order again. For our main dishes, we ordered the Branzino which was excellent and the Burger which was good but nothing special. We also ordered a baked potato which was lackluster. Came with a former coworker, she invited me because she said she knew I'd love the sunset: it was gorgeous! We didn't have a full meal, but I did have a lobster roll and a Caesar salad. The dressing on that salad is the best I've ever had on a Caesar! After some wine and coffee, we decided to share a desert and we had the bananas that are flambéed and also come à la mode: YUM! This place is perfect to have a nice conversation and enjoy the view. I saw a lot of couples so I guess is also considered romantic! Came here while on vacation and met up with some local friends who made the reservation. It was such a fun spot with great views. On top of Restoration Hardware, there is a great vibe on the 4th floor. It has indoor and outdoor seating and like a good SoCal spot, the beach views are excellent. With that said, they do not lower the quality of food to make up for the high real estate. We got a multitude of eats but the stand outs were the steak sandwich, the ribeye, grilled artichoke and the amazing cookies for dessert. My only gripe is there is no bar to sit at. The ambiance is obviously gorgeous, and the views are just as good. We came on Easter Sunday, the weather was perfect, and we sat outside with a larger party, there was just the right amount of shade, which made it even more enjoyable. Let's start with the star of the show: the Chinese chicken salad. So delicious. The thinly sliced avocado with baby green onions was the perfect touch. The shrimp cocktail was super fresh and the shrimp were huge. My least favorite was the wagyu ribeye, we asked for medium and it came out closer to well done, with a lot of fat. I hate sending food back, so we just dealt with it. The Caesar salad with chicken was good, and the baked potato (Kristen recommended it!) was a hit. We also ordered broccolini, which was cooked perfectly. Lastly, the banana split we almost skipped, so glad we didn't. It was so yummy, with a crème brûlée style banana that was just mm mm mmm. My friend and I had dinner at RH Ocean Grill. Obviously the restaurant was a stunner. It was located on the top floor of a RH furniture store, so the restaurant matched the high end vibes. You also can't beat the views. That said, I thought the food was OK. We ordered the crispy artichoke and regular fries to share. The crispy artichoke leaves were overdone for my liking. Nice aioli that the dish came with though. It was much needed to soften the charred taste of the artichoke leaves. I enjoyed the plain fries much more than the artichoke. I got the lobster roll as my entree, which was tasty and refined, but a disappointment for what it was worth. There is certainly much beige-beige-beige in the décor of the RH Ocean Grill, located around the back of Fashion Island Newport Center, in Newport Beach, not far from Macy's Department store. There is parking right in front of the restaurant. There also appears to be a valet posted at that location in case you wish to avail yourself of valet parking service. The hostess was pleasant on the Saturday I visited at 10:45 am. There is a breakfast menu available, but we ordered from the "All Day Menu", which was vastly preferable to all the "breakfasty" items. The caviar with avocado or caviar with beef carpaccio are fun, but the presentation from the kitchen is lackluster. The caviar is simply strewn atop the item willy-nilly. A little crowning pile of caviar with micro greens and flowers would have looked more elegant to the eye. The brass and smoked glass chandeliers overhead are really pretty, Service by Carson Josiah Felix was gracious and superb. We were sad when he was re-assigned to a new section mid-meal. The new server at our table was a woman who seemed to push-push-push the meal pace in an obvious motive to "turn the table"'. Note to that server: You really do NOT need to ask us about dessert while we are in the process of eating the main course. And slapping down the unrequested check is not something that would make RH proud. When we were taking the elevator down to the ground level, we encountered a Design Associate by the name of Richard Whittiker. He was very kind and professional, and we had a nice conversation about the RH world of design and lifestyle. Thank you, Josiah and Richard. Came here for date night at RH Rooftop Restaurant Newport Beach and I have mixed feelings. The space is beautiful. From the moment you walk in, everything looks elevated and well designed. The rooftop views are great and it's definitely a nice spot for photos. We did have to wait about 15 to 20 minutes past our time because they were really busy. For food, we ordered the 14oz tomahawk, shrimp, asparagus, potatoes, and a Caesar salad. We like to share everything, so we prefer it all to come out together, but that didn't happen. The shrimp came out first, then the salad, then asparagus. We were still waiting a while for the steak, and the potatoes came out last. It threw off the whole experience because we couldn't enjoy everything together. My partner ended up eating the asparagus first because we were so hungry. The steak came out lukewarm, not hot, which was disappointing. The potatoes were also not great. They looked oily and like they had been sitting there for a while. We also ordered a mojito and a blueberry Moscow mule, both mocktails, and they weren't good. I would skip those. Service was okay. Not bad, just not very attentive. Our server didn't really check on us until we were already done. Overall, this feels more like a place you go for the atmosphere and pictures rather than the food. For the price point, I expected the experience to match. When you're spending over $350 on dinner, you want everything from timing to food quality to feel elevated, not just the setting. We ordered the Prosciutto Board, Chinese Chicken Salad, Crispy Artichoke, Grilled Shrimp, Charred Wagyu Ribeye, and Chilean Seabass. Ingredients were high quality and the execution precise albeit on the safe side. Service was attentive with several timely checkups. A member of our party was celebrating a birthday, and our server remembered to bring a warm chocolate chip cookie with a lit candle. Multi-tier crystal chandeliers, a central fountain, marble tables, stone floors, glazed roof- RH Ocean Grill is a respectable architectural and design feat. The atmosphere is upscale yet relaxed. We started with the Mini Lobster Rolls to share. They were topped with caviar and tasted amazing, though they truly are "one-bite" minis! For mains, we shared the Grilled Shrimp Salad and the Branzino. The shrimp salad is one-of-a-kind--the warm grilled shrimp paired perfectly with the fresh greens. The Branzino was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, clearly grilled over charcoal which gave it a beautiful finish. To drink, we tried the Strawberry Rosy cocktail since the RH House Bellini was unfortunately out of stock, and it was a delightful alternative. The ambience is amazing. Food is decent, nothing you will crave but quite decent. Chinese salad was actually pretty good. Truffle fries for $20 a definite no. I will go back to try other menu items. read more

My boy and I drove out to Costa Mesa to handle some business and decided to stop by the RH Ocean Grill for drinks and to admire the view since it was a recommendation from a friend who spoke very highly of the place. So upon arrival, there is plenty of parking because it seems it's located in a mall or something and might I add that the place is huge lol. I think it's located in a luxury furniture store and we decided to take the stairs up (smh). Anyway, once we reached the top, the restaurant is gorgeous! We were quickly seated because, I believe, we arrived around 4pm, before the crowd came. I'd say about two hours later it was dark and packed. This is definitely a place to come watch the sunset, as we did, and it was beautiful overlooking the ocean from the distance. Our waitress was very cool and attentive. She quickly got our drinks and a butter scotch brûlée. I ordered the blackberry mule and it was so good! I wanted two but I had to drive and my boy ordered a few espresso martinis. I tried his martini and it was hella strong but pretty good. I'm not sure how he took down two of those lol. Anyway, the brûlée tasted exactly as advertised, "no words". The top had the perfect crunch and the inside was so rich and creamy with a thick consistency that blended together so well. We saw the food come out and it looked good, however, a lot of the reviews mentioned it wasn't that good, so maybe we'll give it a shot and see for ourselves. I will say that the menu did seem a bit limited and I didn't really see anything I wanted anyway. Overall, this is a very nice place. I would def come back to try the food but this review is rated on the drinks, dessert, the atmosphere and service and it was solid!
