Good environment, food wasn't bad, service was ok. However the steaks are way the hell overpriced. I expected much more including more flavor. The steaks are about a 30$ not 60$ in which they charge. First time ever heading to Indiana for dinner. Made reservations for Saturday night at 7:15. Place was extremely busy, so we had a few drinks from the bar. Standing room only while waiting for our table. Bartenders were very attentive and drinks were fantastic. Got sat within 30 minutes of our reservation. My wife and I got sat near three large parties in a back room that was very loud. Meals took over an hour and was decent although extremely overpriced. Party next to us was pretty loud and throwing f-bombs like crazy even though there were several small children at a nearby table. Asked the waiter to have them quiet down but it didn't seem to happen. All in all the drinks are great, but I wouldn't return. Service there was fantastic but I wouldn't return based on the other guests and prices. read more

The Christmas decor was festive, and the ambiance of the place was awesome. We were served by Blake, who was the best server we have had in quite some time. Everything was perfect. I was told about this place from a coworker who raved about the food and patio. Unfortunately, it was too cold to enjoy the patio, however, the food was very good. My wife ordered the ribs. The sauce Had a nice flavor. The crab cakes and the rich sauce was also delicious. I had the add on fried shrimp with my pasta dish. I loved the fact that they do not heavily bread the shrimp. the shrimp was a great flavor and nice size. I had the cajun chicken pasta and I can honestly say the sauce was a little too rich. Threw the taste off a little but it wasn't bad. My wife ordered a side of vegetables so I added them to the pasta dish and it was perfect. Our waitress, Courtney, was very friendly and efficient. Amazing food. I ordered Lobster, and I got lobster. It tasted like lobster, already a 5/5 for me. My daughter ordered chicken tenders, she said they tasted like lobster. Did you feed my daughter lobster or what? I ordered tea, and it tasted like lobster. Don't get me wrong, lobster is delicious, but why did I taste so much LOBSTER? Good food. Lobster good. Let's get this out of the way first. This is not an actual lighthouse. It doesn't actually guide boats. However there is a boat bar, yet it cannot float. These things were very confusing. I ate some food here as well. It was very much like seafood, which makes sense, because I ordered seafood. Our family went the other night here. This place has really gone down hill. The lake perch was disappointing at best. Tiny pieces that looked more like clams than perch. The baked potato was not done still hard and cold. For the prices they charge the meal should be at least edible! read more

My mom discovered this place on Facebook one day and we went like 4 times within a month even though it's almost a 40 minute drive. We tried the cheeseburger which was delicious, the steak was really good and the sides are all great. Everything we have tried has been really good and we always receive good service. The portion sizes are also good for what you pay, we always have something left to take home. read more

It was a choice cut and not prime.. no marbling, center was way too under cooked, raw and tough! I asked for medium rare! My family and I dined here last night on New Year's Eve. The food and service was exceptional. Honestly it was in my top 5 favorite meals of my life. My husband and I were excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Lighthouse. We made a reservation and arrived early. We were seated shortly before our 7pm reservation. Our waiter greeted us and brought menus. He did not inform us of any special menus, or drink highlights nor did he bring us complimentary bread that everyone around us was offered. We excused this behavior as him possibly being a new employee. Unfortunately our experience gradually went from excusable to our worst dining experience to date. We placed our complete order before 715. We received our drinks and within a reasonable amount of time our appetizer. We ordered a second round of drinks which were also brought out within a reasonable time. During this time I had never received my salad which I ordered. The waiter asked if I had received it and it was eventually brought to me well after 8pm. Meanwhile the table directly behind us who was seated AFTER US ordered drinks, apps, entree and dessert and received all before we even had our entree. The waiter came to our table feigning concern and stated there was ONE ticket before ours. My husband requested to speak with the manager who eventually came and brought our entree order. My husband explained the extremely long wait time for us specifically in comparison to the couple behind us and new diners seated around us. The manager gave a insincere apology then my husband asked for the bill of what we had not including the entrees. We received the bill and as expected NOTHING was comped as a token of an apology. It is now almost 9pm and our anniversary dinner expectations went from excitement to pure disappointment. My husband and I are African-American. The couple behind us that were seated AFTER us and received their complete meal BEFORE us are Caucasian as was the waiter and manager and everyone in our section. Based on our experience we have EVERY reason to believe that our poor service was all intentional simply because we are African-American. Also a few weeks after this unfortunate experience my husband was having a conversation about our experience there and this guy joined in the conversation stating he had a similar experience at a wedding he went to at this restaurant. He is african american as well and said everyone around him was being treated well and acknowledged by the staff except him. This is unfortunate and disappointing but we will take our business and gladly spend money on a good dining experience elsewhere. read more

Went with family to celebrate my husband's retirement. This place isn't as good as it was originally. Haven't been to it possibly for a couple of years, and every time we have gone in the past maybe 4 years it seems a little worse. I use to LOVE the crabcakes however now they have a lot of filler and less crab. They use to have great garlic mashed potatoes and now they don't. That being said my grandson had an 8 oz. Filet and said it was better than Gibson's. The place was really busy with the holidays. Our waiter tried but we had to reask for several things a few times. I really wasn't comfortable with the way the wait staff wore their masks, either on the chin or under the nose, they really should have been fully on in my opinion. This is such a cool place to dine. Especially when the weather is nice. Sitting outside there is a nice view of Cedar Lake, paired well with a beautiful sky..throw in a sunset...quite a romantic setting. I do like their food too! Plenty of options and priced reasonably. The inside of the restaurant has plenty of ambiance with an interesting looking bar. The nautical look is quite fitting. My son will be getting married there and having the reception upstairs. So very disappointed in our most recent dining experience at the Lighthouse. We have dined here dozens of times since they opened, both in small groups and upstairs for larger parties. We have ALWAYS enjoyed it even if things weren't quite perfect. We eat out often and don't expect perfection! How can you beat the beautiful atmosphere with lake view, great food at very acceptable prices, and very good service most of the time? Well, tonight was different. We were not happy and the three of us left grumbling and mumbling about everything that we didn't like. First of all, we LOVED the old menu! It had many more choices plus there were always daily specials; it was easy to understand (tonight I could NOT understand which meals came with sides and how many sides did you get!) ; and, the prices used to be reasonable... and I really do understand that because of COVID, prices had to raised. Our waitress was nice but everything came out very slow. My chicken marsala didn't even look appetizing. My sister ordered perch and asked for sauteed and it was tasteless. My husband ordered fried shrimp and he said it was fine. I'm not sure I can explain our issue with the side dishes. Let me try... the chicken marsala as listed on the menu came with mashed potatoes. The menu said entrees came with one side. I thought I would order a salad as my side. Oh, no. The mashed potatoes was The Side! If I wanted a salad, I had to give up the mashed potatoes. Then the menu said you could add soup as a side for a $2 upcharge. Wow... dummy me thought that was good deal. So I ordered soup thinking I would be charged $2. Oh, no. The CUP of soup cost me an extra $8. Again, as I NOW understand it, had I given up the mashed potatoes, I could have had the soup for an extra $2. On the old menu you got TWO huge sides with a beautiful and delicious entree at a very reasonable price. What a great value! And, the restaurant was crowded most all the time! That's what kept us coming back! Sorry, Lighthouse. We knew you when you offered a great menu at super reasonable prices. I'm sad to say that I doubt we'll be back. read more

I love this place! Beautiful view of the lake, especially at night! Friendly service all around, too! My husband and I had a celebration dinner here last weekend and we had a small wait, but we got in earlier than our reservation, so it's expected. We had a drink at the bar while we waited, which was shaped like a boat. Our server was great- attentive and friendly. We had crab stuffed shrimp as an appetizer (yum), soup, and filet's. The appetizer was awesome, very delicious, and the butter sauce that came with it was great. Our soups were not bad, either. I got French onion & my husband got the lobster bisque. He said his was cold & the cheese ontop of my soup was burnt, but that's to be expected. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. I could venture to say mine may have been a tad undercooked but it was still yummy. I ordered the sautéed spinach and mushrooms as a side, which was good but a little salty. The food was reasonably priced and our overall experience was great! We will be going back, but due to distance & price it'll more likely be for a special occasion. My suggestion is to make reservations online so that you're not waiting a long time to get a table! read more
