Upon entering the hostess pretty much,no she ignored us. The waitress came and greeted us. After the hostess sat us, the hostess place the greasy germ infested menus in the plates we were expecting to eat out of. We asked for new plates immediately. The chef was amazing, funny and very entertaining. I ordered the chicken and steak and spider roll. It was very filling.Lunch special starts at $13 and goes to $16 depending on what you ordered. We eat sushi weekly. Came to MB and tried this place but realized shortly after arriving it didn't get its 4+ stars from its sushi. We never return or ask to have our food taken back but their sushi rolls were not fresh. Service was good but I can't say the same for the meal. Our original plan was to eat at Yamato at Broadway at the Beach but the wait was so long. I yelped Japanese food and this place had a 4 star rating so we tried it. It is so much better than Yamato! Our waiter, Edward was so nice and precise. My girlfriend can't eat a lot so she always has leftovers and I knew that since we were on vacation they wouldn't get eaten, so we asked Edward if she could have a children's portion. He said he wasn't supposed to but he would do it anyway, which meant a lot to us. He was super upbeat but not too chatty. Our chef was named Tu and he is the best Hibachi chef I've ever had! He was fun and very skilled. The food was amazing. I got chicken and shrimp and for dinner you get noodles and rice. Who doesn't love a double starch? I'm sure we will be returning here to eat for many more vacations to come. read more

Bad Bad Bad! The food looks completely dead!!! ... The prices is ridiculous for the small unwanted unfresh potions... Sushi is awful.., I'm just surprise the health dept hasn't done their job... Customer Services is completely lost with their attitude... To them it is okay and good... To others it's ompletely rude with no table manners and respect to the customers.. I never write a review but this place was so good I had too. We went for my husbands birthday. We were sat in Kilee's section. She was awesome from the start. The chef played with my two year old daughter and kept her laughing. Later they brought my husband a dessert and everyone sang. Such a great experience to top off our vacation. I could not sit at a hibachi table, but the food was outstanding. It was a bit salty, so you may want to ask them to go light on the salt.

Food was above average. Waitstaff was courteous and service was quick. Come between 3 and 5 to get early bird specials which is cheaper than using a coupon. Only issue is portions sizes are a little smaller than most. Would recommend to anyone however. Sauces were fantastic! read more

My boyfriend and I were in Myrtle for a vacation weekend and hadn't been to Lil Tokyo before, so we didn't know they were closing half an hour from when we got there. While staff at an average restaurant would have been annoyed by us coming in so late, Lil Tokyo greeted us with a smile and friendly service. Kristan was our server - he was very prompt and polite and even took time to make the visit more memorable by creating professional and friendly conversation with us. He said he'd only been there for a few weeks, but we definitely wouldn't have been able to tell if he hadn't said anything - he's a great employee and deserves the recognition - thanks Kristan! The only thing that would've made our experience better would have been a military discount to show appreciation for the sacrifice our service members make, but Kristan even made that part better by sincerely thanking my boyfriend & his friend for their service. The food was DELICIOUS. If you go, definitely order the specialty rolls. More than worth the price. read more

Dinner for our family of 5 was $100, which included a 25% tip...so thumbs up for being really affordable!! Went here while I was visiting Myrtle Beach. The service was good, and everyone was super nice. The food was great and they had gluten free soy sauce, for our family's food complications. Our chef for hibachi was very nice, he asked us if all of us were okay with eggs in our fried rice, as well as sesame seeds. It was a little odd because you would think they would play music from their culture, but they played country music. Over all really recommend! read more

Pretty standard for this type of place. Typical "show" from the chef and the food was on par with Myabi and the like. Kids portions were significantly smaller but the price was, too. Still an easy $100 for a family of 4, and that's without adult beverages. read more

We first tried Tokyo on Kings Hwy--didn't have sushi. Really wouldn't want to eat sushi there anyway, given the look of the place-- any sushi couldn't be fresh. Anyway, Tokyo the Kings Hwy restaurant suggested the restaurant Lil Tokyo on 780 Coastal Grand Circle. Wow, sushi central at Lil Tokyo--unmatched variety and quality. Jennifer took care of us like we were Samurai-very attractive and very efficient. Good food, quickly and well prepared in a well appointed, attractive room. There were a few Teppanyaki (looked it up) tables going when we arrived, but we didn't partake. My wife was smitten by the food and by the restaurant. Too bad this restaurant is not on Kings Hwy, it would be more convenient to us. But since my wife is a sushi nut, I'm sure we'ii be returning often. We considered Japanese restaurants further up Kings Hwy, but they weren't open early; so Lil Tokyo it is. read more

Overall the experience was ok. I should have requested Billy like a previous review said. Kevin was cool, but he skimped me on portions with my rice and noodles compared to the others around the hibachi. He didn't do many tricks. The food was good just like any other hibachi restaurant. They don't do the sake shots around the grill which we found to be interesting. He didn't toss any food in our mouths. He attempted to do it with a microscopic piece of egg, which is different than what we were used to. It's usually meat or a veggie or both. We tried 2 sushi rolls the Hot Lava and the Unbelievable roll. I would recommend both of those. Both were delicious. Our server who's name I forgot wasn't very prompt. It wasn't busy so I'm not sure what the issue was. I'm sure others had a better experience but if you can, definitely request Billy. He was behind us and he was very entertaining. I would never go back there again! I went and got sushi and it took them 45 minutes to get it (the sushi is good but the wait sucks) also a friend came late and wanted something to drink and we didnt see the waitress for 30 min for me to then see her sitting on a couch talking to some kids. Then i went up asking where my sushi was and some how 5 min later we have our sushi. This is the 2nd time i have been in and had it take 45 min to get sushi. Then after expressing my dislike of how long it took the waitress stood over me waiting for me to give her a tip on my credit card. The staff was rude the food is good and the wait sucks! read more

Went here during a trip for a few days. We first went on Sunday and loved everything (the Godzilla roll is our favorite). From the food to the service, everything is top notch. We loved it so much that we came back on Tuesday and had Kilee as our waitress. She made the service more than exceptional.
