The food and service was amazing!!! I usually don't like eating calabacitas at restaurants. No one makes it better than my gramita or mama, but the calabacita burrito was amazing. Lavender Tea was amazing also. I didn't ask the name of the chef, but he came out and made sure everyone was enjoying their food. Marcela was a great hostess/waitress. I will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend.

I always want to let people know where they can find good and delicious food or services and if it locally owned It motivates me even more to want to spread the word, all of us should go out of our way to spread the word and I can only rave about Lavender Cocinita. First the food is delicious, I ordered the half or smaller portion frito pie, and there was nothing small about it trust me when I say this picture does not do it justice on how big it is and thank goodness for that because boy was it yummmmmy, I ate half and I got full and believe me , I can eat. I took the rest home my son ordered the green chile cheese burger with homemade fresh cut french fries, and WOW so delicious and the burger also HUGE and I yes I stole some of my sons french fries But the cherry on top of the wonderful sundae, I don't think they have Sundaes, but the staff, who i'm pretty sure were also the owners and they were so nice and provided exceptional, friendly service, and now have frequent loyal customers.

My breakfast burrito was delicious! Pretty large, nice crispy bacon, hot green chile. What more could you want? Service was great, very friendly. Bike parking out front.

Great food, good prices, and large servings. Nice place to eat in the north valley. The Ruben has great flavor and a lot of meat, but kinda dry. The quesadilla was crazy big and very tasty. The breakfast burrito is also crazy big and big flavor (the green chile was hot but still had flavor); a filling great deal. Huevos rancheros also had a great taste (really taste the corn), but the potatoes were overcooked. Calabasitas are also very tasty (every New Mexician has an option about this dish). The small things: 1) Have umbrellas up for outdoor seating before the customer needs to ask, 2) larger cups for water (pre-school size doesn't cut it), and 3) don't let your pride overshadow the customer needs for minor substitutions because of dietary needs.

Consistently good- we enjoy getting breakfast here regularly - we usually get the huevos rancheros and a breakfast burrito.

The sunrise burger is still one of hubby's favorites in the city, and the fries are incredible. I tried the High Point Mac & cheese (green chile mac w/steak sliced on top) and yowza. So much flavor, and the steak was perfectly tender. The restaurant has food nailed. And our server was amazing. Unfortunately, th manager did a poor job estimating how busy they'd be on a Friday night, so the two servers were running ragged. The manager pitched in, but they were playing catch up with the silverware and we had to wait for it when the food arrived. Which, no biggie, but it was a fork when I had steak and my husband had a messy burger. So we right away asked for knives. I pointed out my steak, and the manager got snarky with us like she got it. But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. It's hard for people to trust the food safety if the job-food public areas aren't kept clean and well-maintained, you know? We'll be back because the food IS awesome and we always have an enjoyable meal. But they definitely need to turn an eye toward building upkeep and service.

If you know where Hot Tamales is, go behind it and hit Upscale Rio! First of all, this place has so many options of what I'd call comfort food and everything is good! They have shakes, desserts, yummy starters, mac and cheese, burgers and much more! What's my favorite thing? So many items are gluten free!! Hallelujah!! Even the burgers can be ordered with a gluten free bun! We also had a super sweet waitress! I had to go gluten free last fall and it really cut down on us eating out as most places have little to no options. Here, MOST things are gluten free!! Like what you may ask? Well, today I had chicken fried chicken, green chile gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables- a medley of corn, Lima beans ,bell peppers and red onions. They use a gluten free rice flour and the batter on the chicken was crispy and delicious!! They are also super generous with their portions so I took half of my food home and can't wait for dinner! I also had a double chocolate shake and a cold brew. They proudly brew Whispering Bean Coffee which is super tasty! My husband had the Green Chile Chicken Pot Pie and really enjoyed it and ate every bite! My mother in law had the Basic Cheddar Burger with fresh cut fries and raved about it. She also had a Key Lime Pie Shake. No photo of this, sorry! They normally have a gluten free fruit cobbler but they were out. I'll be back to try that for sure! All I know is I found a place that has super tasty gluten free options that I can't find anywhere else. I love you Upscale Rio! I'll be sharing this with all my gluten free friends! See you soon!! He walked away as I approached the counter. I was confused as I wasn't aware I had to order on the tablet on the counter. When I began using the tablet I was in search of the new mushroom burger they sent me an email yesterday about. Of course you know it's what I wanted to try. Sadly it wasn't on the menu on the tablet. When I called the employee for help I basically got the vibe he didn't want to be there and he was hesitant to approach. When he did come to the counter I asked about the burger even showed him the email to get told it's not out yet and it was coming soon. I found myself wondering why I even got the email if this was true. Needless to say the food came out really fast. I thought well that's good at least. The presentation was better than the experience. The cheese on the queso fries was pretty skimpy. There were way more fries than cheese which was disappointing. The burger I wasn't a fan of either. It needed more cheese and the stackers sauce tasted strange like it a chipotle sauce it wasn't the same as I recalled. I'm sad to say this is the second location I've had a bad experience with. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. I guess I'll have to stick to the central food hall because so far that's the only location that hasn't disappointed me like this yet.

So I got into Albuquerque early, and wanted lunch even though it was a little before 11am (having come from the east cost). This place inside the 505 food hall was recommended to me by Mia, the local Albuquerque community manager. I got there about 10:55, they open at 11, and knew what I wanted to eat about two minutes prior to that. I approached the counter... and well... was told not to for two more minutes, pretty curtly. OK fine, i can respect that, and the fact your day must not be off to a good start. So I come back at 11:01 and place my order for the El Burqueno burger with fries. That's a double smash cheeseburger with fried onions, green chiles, and a garlic ailoi on a grilled buttered bun. I grab a seat nearby to wait, and can see a commotion forming around the kitchen. Apparently, their frier would not turn on, so basically fries were taken to another restaurant in the food hall, brought back, and served to me. Which made things take a little longer, but was more a point of craziness for the staff than me. Neither the fries, or the burger suffered at all. In fact, the burger was one of the most on-point smashburgers I have had in recent memory. A wonderful brown crust on both smashed patties, and skirted with lots of melty cheese. The bun definitely had a rich buttery flavor, and it all came together nicely. So, mild curtness and foibles aside, this was a great stop, and I would recommend it to others seeking a smashburger adorned with chiles.

I must say, it was significantly better to my taste The pickles were gone, but there was still this unusual taste that I really couldn't place. It tasted almost like pickles in the background, but I'm not sure what it was. Suffice to say, the burger was very good. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. Sadly, that honor goes to Pete's Frites, and he hung it up after ruining all of us who got to try his burger masterpieces before disappearing. But I digress. No Mames treated me like I mattered. They took my opinions and wishes seriously. I am very impressed. The owner and his wife genuinely wanted me to enjoy my experience with their food, and I must say I did. Their tireless efforts to make me a happy customer are very rare, and they should be commended. I had fries this time, and they are the thin, more crispy variety, which are my favorite. I also received a Serrano sauce and a flavored oil "sauce," which I was told they serve with their chicharrones, I believe. I kinda liked it with the fries. I'm upping the rating to 5 stars, because for me, the food is a very strong 4 stars, but their customer service and care for their craft makes it an easy 5 stars. Go pay this place a visit and let them know what you think of their food. They actually listen and will make adjustments. That's a customer's dream.

They were delicious but in the future I think ill vouch for the normal fries. Crispy, thin fries are my favorite and the chorizo liquid made the ones on top soft but I still really enjoyed them. I tried this truck for the first time today, and my doors are blown off and my socks have been knocked off! The lady at the window was super friendly, and not in a fake, awkward way, but in a genuine, "I love everyone" sort of way. Anyway, I ordered 'The Duke' special, which is a lot of stuff I like: beef, hotlinks, caramelized onions, cheese, and green chile on a hoagie roll. She took my money, and I waited, thinking this was probably a mistake. I hadn't heard much about the place, but it seemed like with all those components, some of the weaker ones would bring down the entire sandwich. Boy was I wrong. The beef was beautifully cooked, with just a bit of pink showing, the hotlinks were smokey and delicious, the onions were soft and plentiful, the green chile had heat, and the cheese tied it all together into a beautiful gooey mess on a soft and inviting roll. I needed the extra fork she provided, as I 'got nasty' with it, caring less and less about what proper eating etiquette is, and more and more about getting it into my mouth as soon as possible. I'm not going to lie to you - this is not health food. Not even close. In fact, there really isn't anything I'd consider 'healthy' on the entire menu. If you're looking for something green, you've come to the wrong place. This food truck's menu is a carnivore's paradise, and it's going to cause long-term problems, but you know what? I live in the short term. It's greasy and brown, and just amazing. This would be the ultimate hangover food if I were hung over, which might just be the best compliment I can give the place. I'll definitely return.
