Let me go by saying I've never in my life had a fish burrito but after experiencing it here it will be my go to type of burrito when available. I devoured the whole thing in one sitting. I'm not a big person either, just have the appetite of a beast and have no shame about it. Anyway if you're one of those people who's got a smaller appetite or in a diet, I'd suggest getting a medium burrito and cutting it in half and sharing with a friend. You won't feel as guilty. Why was their burrito so good?? The perfect lunch after a long hike. It was ginormous and every bite was tasty. I got the fish burrito (~$13) and it was so worth the extra money. I've never had a fish burrito and it did not disappoint - it was basically like chicken but softer. It came with green sauce but it was pretty spicy so I opted to eat the burrito without. My friends loved theirs as well - one of them got a burrito with multiple types of meat in it?! Service was on the slower side. Lily's is located in the plaza with Pavilions (and lots of loud birds!) and has a shared outdoor dining space, which looks pretty well-kempt and clean as they have signed that mentioned whether the table was recently wiped down or not. Good burritos, bad customer service. We ordered the fish burrito and the bacon burrito. The flavor of the fish burrito was really good. The fish was seasoned very well. It was also soft and cooked perfectly. The other components such as the tomato, cilantro, onion, sauce, and rice paired with the burrito well. The burrito as a whole was a little dry. Though, the flavors were there. The bacon burrito was really good and takes a spot as one of my favorite breakfast burritos. The component of the breakfast burrito was seasoned very well. It's difficult to find a breakfast burrito that has all the fillings seasoned well, but Lily's does it well. Though, I do wish the bacon was a little more crispy, to add a different texture to the burrito. The tortilla for both burritos was really tasty. The side sauce complimented the burritos well. It added a nice change of flavor and spice. The quality of the ingredients is good. I could tell they use quality ingredients in their burrito. The presentation is just standard. It was just standard-wrapped burritos. The portioning is a little weird for both burritos. Again, I find the fish burrito to be a little dry. I believe this to be the case because of the overpacked rice. They load the burrito up with I think a little too much rice, and not enough baja sauce, making the burrito dry. In terms of the bacon burrito, there was definitely not enough bacon. I hope that Lily's can adjust their portioning. Other than the fillings the burrito as a whole was an incredibly fair price. The burrito itself is huge. They charge a fairly cheap price. Therefore I commend this place for giving a big burrito for a cheap price. Customer service is an issue. I assumed it was my order, so I approached a man at the counter and asked if my pickup order was ready. Though, he claimed that our order was not yet ready. The brown bag sat there for around 10 minutes without anybody picking it up. Eventually, the lady called my name and claimed that there were two people under my name and the order got mixed up. I asked if my order was ready and she said not yet. I was called again a little later by the same lady at the counter who said the burritos that has been sitting on the counter for the past 20 minutes were actually mine. Therefore, I waited an extra 20 minutes, while my burritos were just sitting on the counter. What really ticked me off more was the same guy who said our order was not yet ready, when it was clearly ready, was high-fiving and chatting with a customer who I assumed to be his friend. During this time I was approaching him about my order, but he was too busy chatting and not helping other customers and staff. Very poor customer service from the man at the counter. Very poor awareness of the front of the house in general. They need to fix their service. Everything just seemed messy and unorganized. Nobody does a big ol' burrito like Lily's. The menu is pretty simple - standard Mexican cuisine with all the flavor and fixings you need. Any of the Breakfast Burritos, including the "Loco" which comes with Ham, Bacon AND Chorizo, are packed with tons of ingredients and will make any palate sweat. Definitely go with the "Large" option. For a few bucks more, it's almost twice as big. Carne Asada, Chicken, Fish, or plain Bean and Cheese all do the trick in the full flour wrap. Another favorite is the Chicken Tamales which are only available on Friday and Saturday while supplies last. They come ready to eat or reheat in a plastic bag hats perfect for any microwave. Definitely add the Guacamole and Chips for the perfect appetizer. The chips are served fresh, and the guacamole is seasoned to perfection and amazingly good. The staff are super friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Located in the cozy neighborhood of Point Dume Village in Malibu, parking is fairly abundant and the social distancing game is strong. Make sure to check their hours and preparation times during COVID as they can take an hour or more depending on the amount of people (especially locals) that hit Lily's during the lunch hour rush. These really are some of the best breakfast tacos! We tried the ham egg and cheese as well as the bacon egg and cheese and both were delicious! Prices are a bit high at $10 each, but they are very filling and well-made. Eggs are super fluffy and the protein is plentiful. Do you expect to wait, even with only a handful of people there we waited a good 30 minutes. I suggest calling your food in to have it ready whenever you would like. Service is wonderful, their menu is expensive, I can't wait to come back and try more! This place is AMAZING!! It was always mo go to place for a breakfast burrito when I attended Pepperdine for undergrad. All the students at Pepperdine knew about Lily's! There would be events on campus and whenever they ordered Lily's to cater, let's just say, they would run out quick. Even though I don't live on the Pepperdine campus anymore, I, till this day, will go and grab a burrito from this place whenever I was craving a breakfast burrito, regardless of how far I would need to drive. My favorite is the bacon breakfast burrito (w/ no cheese). The salsa is one of the best salsas that I have had, especially if you like spicy food. The place is so popular in Malibu that the wait time for just one burrito, on a super crowded day, could be almost 2-3 hours. Therefore, I would advise you to call ahead of time, which is what I have learned to do. If you have never had Lily's then I HIGHLY suggest you try it out yourself. I go so often that one of employees recognize me every time. When it is not too busy, I ask her how her day is going. We ordered online which I recommend because they can be incredibly slow. The food was ready for when we ordered it (about an hour and 20 after we put the order in) and was piping hot. I got the sausage breakfast burrito and added in papas (which turned out to be French fries). I wasn't a fan of the sausage because it wasn't your typical breakfast sausage and instead was more like a hot dog. I would opt for the bacon burrito next time (which my boyfriend got and enjoyed). The best part of the burritos is the hot sauce that they have, which has a good kick to it. Definitely make sure to get plenty of it to go on your burrito. We both got the medium sized burrito which was more than enough food and neither of us could finish it. I'm not sure if it's because I was already satisfied after indulging in the fish burrito, but I felt like this was a bit too heavy for me and wish it had some veggies.
