I'd give Limón 5 stars if their service was a little more consistent. Sometimes, they're on top of refilling water and sometimes, I've sat through my entire meal with zero refills/checkins. The tables are incredibly small and it would be a lot better had there been a little more space-- as the table gets filled very easily. This could make eating uncomfortable as there's a lot of clutter. The chicken is always cooked to perfection, never overcooked and always super soft. I normally order it with jasmine rice and sweet potato fries. Ceviche Mixto -- 5/5!!!! Soooooo good but can be a little salty sometimes. Order it with taro chips. I do wish though that the pieces were a tad bit smaller. Pulpo -- 4.5/5. Portion of the pulpo is decent, flavor is great. I tried a lychee cocktail and it was.. not great at all. It tasted very soapy. These dishes are my go to every time I visit and I'd definitely like to try different the next time I visit. However, it's very hard to pass on these dishes and a girl can only eat so much lol. read more

I've been wanting to try out this place and everything turned out pretty delicious! For starters, I ordered the Pica Rico ceviche, the presentation was really nice and the seafood was fresh. I really enjoyed the leche de tigre and ended up drinking it all, haha. My boyfriend and I shared the whole chicken. It comes with an aji amarillo sauce and your choice of two sides. We ended up getting the Chifa vegetables and yuca fries, which unfortunately were both an extra upcharge. I wasn't too impressed with the Chifa veggies. It was stir fried zucchini with some ginger and some sort of soy based sauce. I know it's Chinese/Peruvian fusion but it reminded me too much of the stir fried veggies I ate growing up and didn't think it was worth the upcharge especially with the amount you get. It was also super oily. The yuca fries we got were pretty decent and I liked them. The whole chicken was tasty and had crispy skin. The meat was tender and the flavors of the aji amarillo sauce complemented it well. The whole chicken is cut in 8 pieces, so it was pretty easy for my boyfriend and I to share. We ordered and shared a tres leches cake, and finished it pretty quickly because it was really yummy, haha! Service was great and friendly, and you can have the option to pay via card or Apple Pay. We had a reservation on Friday night and even though we were not being seated right away, it's about 10 mins wait. The restaurant is very busy and packed with people so make sure you make your reservation. Food was delicious. We ordered appetizer, rice, chicken and beef dishes to share with 4 of us and the portion was a good size and we finished all the food with a full stomach. We have eaten at Limón in Walnut Creek several times. Every time the food and service have been great. Yesterday our server was Wilfredo and he was very friendly and helpful in deciding what to try. You really can't go wrong with any of the waitstaff. The only downside to Limón is the noise level. It's loud inside; I recommend eating outside if the weather is acceptable. Really disappointed with our visit here with a family of six. The ambiance was nice, but service was very slow -- we didn't receive our waters for at least 20 minutes after being seated. The food overall was just OK, but I'm giving one star because of how a serious issue was handled. One of the Lomo Saltado dishes was sent back twice -- first because it was cold, and the second time because the steak was raw. The manager did come over, which I initially appreciated, but instead of removing the dish from the bill, he asked if we wanted something else (or a dessert) -- by that point, everyone else had already finished eating and we were not interested in a free dessert. Given the high prices, being charged for a dish that could have caused food poisoning was extremely disappointing and not an acceptable response. read more
