Great little Peruvian restaurant. Service was great, and food was pretty good. They have live music on Saturday evening.

Just a wonderful dining experience! The steak was so tender and full of flavor! The civiche was one of a kind! Definitely a must try again!

Taverna Lima delivers a feast for the senses--where Peruvian tradition meets artistic presentation and unforgettable flavor. From the moment the plate arrives, it's clear that Taverna Lima isn't just serving food, it's telling a story. The dish in the photo, a stunning rendition of Lomo Saltado, is a masterclass in culinary elegance. The beef is tender and richly coated in a savory, soy-infused sauce that clings lovingly to sautéed red onions and sweet peppers, creating a harmony of textures and flavors. Thick-cut potato wedges add a golden crispness, while the molded white rice stands tall like a proud monument to tradition, crowned with a delicate purple orchid that whispers of Lima's floral soul. What sets this experience apart is the attention to detail. The plating is not just beautiful, it's poetic. Every element feels intentional, from the vibrant color palette to the balance of textures. It's a dish that honors Peru's multicultural culinary heritage, blending Chinese stir-fry technique with Andean ingredients in a way that feels both authentic and elevated. The ambiance at Taverna Lima matches the plate's sophistication. Nestled in Plano, this gem offers a warm, vibrant atmosphere with live music and heartfelt hospitality. The staff treats you like family, and the menu is a celebration of Peru's rich flavors--from ceviche to maracuyá drink, each item crafted with imported ingredients that preserve the soul of the cuisine.

My favorite restaurant I've been to in a long time! From the second you walk in, the mood is set. The menu is not overly complex, but still has many great options to choose from. I tried the Lomo Saltado and it was delicious. For dessert, I had the Picarones with a coffee and it was great. I want to thank César and the owner Eliseo for an amazing experience and giving background on the food and fun stories as well. Will be coming back here again soon and Thank You!

This is a nice little Peruvian restaurant tucked away in the back of a strip. The menu had a good selection of dishes including ceviche, cuts of steak and seafood. The Lomo Saltado I ordered was good. Meat was tender. Cooked in an oriental style sauce almost like a kung pao. There was a sax player who started up midway through the meal and was very good. Service was ok.

Amazing food, drinks and service. Aroz con pollo is my favorite. The pisco sour is delicious. The service is excellent. Can't wait to go back.

My expectations were high after reading the reviews & the minute i walked in the restaurant looks and is clean, pleasant, the waitress was really friendly and approachable , service was really good. Now let's talk about the food. Ceviche mixto was good, calamari a little over cooked , and the fish was cut the wrong way so it was very tough, but the leche tigre was very tasty, good flavor. The pollo saltado was so salty that it was hard to eat and same the lomo saltado. Like i said service was extraordinary but food was not good and the price is pretty high!

We heard about this place & since we were in the area so tried it for lunch…read more.. We were seated immediately near the kitchen. Rolando was our server he was attentive & gave us good service. We ordered cioppino & rainbow trout grilled with mashed potatoes & corn as our sides. Trout was finely prepared nicely grilled & seasoned. Loved the corn with chipotle seasoning it went very well with the fish & potatoes were good. But Cioppino was not how it's usually prepared the broth seemed very light , seasoning was not up to the mark & the mussels were ok ... had better mussels in other places... it's a seafood place so we were expecting nice juicy mussels but the meat in clams & mussels were extremely small.... That was a let down... we did take the leftover broth to have it later but it didn't tasted good ( turned very sour) so threw it away... Maybe it was one of the off day but we felt disappointed... will try something else if we visit again.

From the Off-putting odor that hits you as you enter the premise to the rather dull interiors, the place did not create any excitement. Seating though ample was kinda weird with booths available to the end of the restaurant, which seemed rather dark and uninviting. The service by Rolando was friendly and courteous which was the saving grace. The Cioppino seemed more like a tomato broth in taste and looks with some seafood thrown in. Lacked the flavors and odors of a great dish that it could have been. Seafood added to it while fresh did not seem to be of great quality. The grilled swordfish with whipped potatoes and corn was good. Will come back if there are no other options

Bf and I came here for a date night as he has been here before and highly recommended it…read more I immediately noticed how crowded it was. Definitely a neighborhood local favorite on a Friday night, which is always a promising sign. Menu was diverse and seemed overall quite affordable. You could get many kinds of seafood cooked in practically any way you could imagine with large portion sizes. Bf got a plate with catfish and butterfly shrimp and I got a plate with cod. We split a side plate of fried okra. The okra was above average I would say, and we finished our plate of it. The fries were alright but nothing special, and I'd say the seafood was great. I enjoyed the shrimp I tried off of my bf's plate more than the cod, but it was all cooked well and portioned generously. The sauce it came with was tangy and paired well with the seafood. Additionally, the coke I was given was absolutely massive and easily 3x what you would get for the same price elsewhere. I'd for sure recommend this place. Just be aware that it's on the small side and parking/tables are limited!

Only reason that I even noticed I had not reviewed was I went to see if anyone had reviewed the Italian Beef sandwich and saw I had not reviewed. Anyway, I have eaten lots of catfish...best in Texas I have found - all catfish from USA. My wife always gets the fish tacos. Always. I have had super fresh shrimp cocktails, grilled fish (depending if I am dieting or not). They have a ketchup and horseradish bar to make your own custom cocktail sauce. This is not a place where you go because you are trying to impress people because of some fancy ambience but if you want to impress because you knew the best seafood restaurant in Dallas, well, you have found the place!!
