It was good BBQ for the northeast. Found out about Limestone a few years ago from the billboard on 95 and finally had the chance to stop in. The staff were friendly and quick (the restaurant was almost empty which I'm sure sped things up). We had pulled pork, brisket and fries along with a lemonade. The fries were great, had good flavor and were cooked just right. The brisket was good and tender with great bark. It didn't have the normal smoke rings that I'm used to, but it was still good. The pulled pork was also good. Nothing jumped off the menu, but for Wilmington, it's as I expected. I don't drink, so I assume that the whiskey is a big draw, but beyond that, it felt like it was lacking the charm of a local bbq spot. The billboard set a high expectation but the space felt like an under decorated corporate version of a Mission BBQ (one is less than a mile away). I'll give it 4 stars, but they have to be a little more unique to get that 5th star. read more

Went here with a friend and I got the smoked kielbasa, chili mac, a piece of brisket, and a bourbon cocktail. There was a live band playing and the overall atmosphere was nice. Food was also good, I will say I wish I got more bang for my buck, as the food was good, but it just wasn't worth the money. Can't complain about the service. Not only are the prices absurd to begin with as the quantity of food given is so low, today when I was picking up my online order for 1 pound of brisket, I noticed the container was barely full. I went back inside and the people working there sheepishly admitted they had misread the number of the online order. This is insane, you have 10 people working behind the counter with 0 people sitting down inside the restaurant and you still manage to mess up the order and try to cheat the customer. Came here during Covid and bc of the reviews. I've been looking for a good BBQ spot. Inside was very nice and clean. The waitress was super nice. We came on a Saturday night and a band started playing. Surprisingly good! Food wasn't too bad. Ribs were tender but not juicy and the classic sauce was ok. I was impressed by the mac n cheese but not the cornbread. Bbq chicken was just ok. Definitely would return to try out more bourbon flights that was fun. The brisket was delicious - good smoke, tender. Pulled pork with Carolina sauce was reasonably good. I'm not sure what happened with the sides. Cucumber salad was not balanced at all; it tasted like straight vinegar. I'm not sure how one messes up cucumber salad. The banana pudding... ‍ it was banana pudding, not vanilla, and there was not a Nilla wafer in sight. It was tasty for sure but not banana pudding. So would I go back? Maybe, and order the brisket. I really enjoy exceptional bbq and this was very average bbq. Not bad and better than some of the chain bbq establishments, but isn't memorable. I've paid twice as much for similar bbq so the value is a plus. The Texas style bbq spot is casual style bbq place with a limited menu of bbq staples and sides. Service was very solid. Greeted kindly at the door and promptly explained the ordering process and menu. The guys working the food service area where you tell them what meats and sides you want were kind as well. They were a little slow and it was really cold out. Which lead to a mostly cold plate of food. We got a sampler with pulled pork, ribs, & brisket. Sides we had Mac&Cheese, Cornbread (muffin) and brisket rice and beans. Brisket was ok. Had a very light smoke ring around the outside. The smoke penetration was suboptimal. I found the brisket to be a little dry and the smoke didn't come through as I expected. The bark wasn't giving that smoke and depth that good bbq gives you. The pulled pork was good not great. Again a little dry, smoke didn't come through at all and under seasoned. The ribs were also good. They had the bark I was looking for and the depth of flavor. Weren't terribly meaty which makes sense for the type of ribs they used. Probably the best bite of food I had. The sides we are sides. I don't go to bbq spots for sides. Everything was pretty plain and forgettable. Just really average/serviceable bbq. All that being said the service was great, the price point was reasonable and if you are craving bbq you can get it here. A couple items on the menu were out (6-7PM) and apparently the waitress can read your mind before you order a drink because she made it clear they did not have whatever drinks we saw on their online menu even before we named them. First time trying out this restaurant. My husband has eaten here two other times. He loves it. It is pricier than most BBQ places. They had live music playing when we were there. I think it starts around 7pm on Saturdays. My hubby gets the filthy sampler which comes with 3 meats and 3 sides. I had the mac n cheese and pulled pork from his sampler. I also ordered the chili. The chili was slightly spicy. (I do not do spicy, so if you like spicy it probably won't be spicy to you) The chili was mainly meat and a thin soup like sauce. I thought it was pretty good and loved mixing the BBQ sauce with their white sauce. I wanted to give a local barbecue joint a try to see how it stacks up so we tried the Philthy sampler with brisket, pulled pork and ribs per the greeter's suggestion. Each meat selection had distinct flavors which is good. Only drawback is I found all a bit too salty for me as I had to take sips of drink throughout my meal. As for sides we ordered Mac and Cheese, beans, brussel sprouts and potatoes. The Mac and Cheese was a bit bland but the beans had a nice kick of Tabasco and vinegar to it. The brussel sprouts and potatoes were simple fare and cooked well. The only other thing I would mention is that the sampler is supposed to feed 2-3 adults; however, it barely fed my group of 4 with three kids all under 13 and all of them not heavy eaters. read more

DIRTY but friendly Greeted upon walking into the establishment. The waitress was pleasant and friendly. The waitress grabbed a menus, paper plates, and plastic silverware and then escorted us to our seat. The plastic silverware was not wrapped and the paper plates sit out in open next to menus at the host station. I could've excused the fact the restaurant uses plastic silverware and paper plates, had the plastic ware came wrapped and the plates not been in a place where everyone and anyone has access. It appears they purchase plastic ware in bulk, dump it out on a paper plate, and put it out as "grab and go" at the host station. From a hygienic standpoint it did not sit well with me to have the waitress/waiter (or any other person whose hands are NOT CLEAN), finger the silverware you eat with, whilst also handling menus and serving other peoples food. This probably happens in other restaurants with actual silverware, however it's just different when it happens in front of your face. To watch the waitress serve and retrieve food, handle menus, and then handle the unwrapped silverware and paper plates was dirty (in my opinion). If the restaurant does this openly in front of patrons, I can only imagine what may be done when others aren't looking. If the restaurant thinks these practices are sanitary, it also makes me wonder what else they think is ok to serve patrons. I just tried this place for the first time and it was awesome! I ordered the platter with everything in it plus 5 sides. All of it was amazing! The highlights were the Brisket and the Ribs. Fantastic! The pork was great and the Italian hot sausage was really good but not my favorite. Coming in third was the smoked chicken quarters. If you're a big chicken fan you will love this. Overall I give this place five stars because they were super friendly and very knowledgeable, they were fast and everything tasted great! I find this place to be a bit inconsistent and underwhelming. I have been roughly six times now. two or three of the times that I went, I would have given at least 4 stars for the food. The other three times I would have given a 1 or 2. Sometimes the food is fresh and delicious and you feel lucky after leaving the area where you retrieve your food. Other times, you feel like you struck out and got scraps and leftovers with side dishes that had sat for too long. The servers really don't seem very concerned with the experience of the diners. My advice would be to go during prime eating hours when the trays are full of food and its fresh. Don't go during off hours when the food has been sitting for too long. I wish this place was better. I live 2 miles from it. We drive 30+ minutes away to Hoods in PA to get our BBQ - because the prices are slightly better and because it is consistently good. read more

All the meats were tender, succulent and seasoned to perfection. My eat partner was sucking the bones dry. Both of our favorites were the brisket! The slaw was good but the beans were the highlight for the sides. Not your usual baked beans, this one has 2 or 3 different beans mingled together in a taste thick sauce. So good. The Brussels sprouts were forgettable and unfortunately they cost a dollar more than other sides. For a "premium side" they weren't up to par and they were over cooked. They were eaten, but I wouldn't recommend them. The drinks were great. We both ordered bourbon cocktails. If you're in the area and are looking for good bbq, stop buy. read more

They separated the pork and other items while also washing knives and weighing stations and changing gloves. Super nice. The Philthy Feast includes 5 meats and 5 sides. The sausage was a tad too spicy for the kids but the adults enjoyed it tremendously. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The brisket was tasty with the perfect amount of fat! The ribs were fall apart good. The pulled pork was great with a bit of Carolina sauce. The sides were a hit: crispy Brussels sprouts, tasty cowboy caviar, creamy mac n cheese, flavorful chili mac and well seasoned greens. The atmosphere was wonderful. I would love to return with some friends to enjoy the bourbon part of the restaurant. The attention from staff was phenomenal. I've been to quite a few cafeteria style restaurants and I've never before had visits from 3 different staff members to ensure our meal was going well. The service was better than a sit down place. We order the pull pork sandwich (the lunch special) it was suppose to come with coleslaw on it I didn't want it on mine but my friend did and when we ask where it was the waitress said it didn't come on the one that was on the lunch menu (?) but she would bring her some...it was horrible! and my friend order the cornbread and there was no butter so we ask for some the waitress was annoyed but finally got some. I ordered cucumber salad with mine...lol it was bread and butter pickles onions and a few tomatoes wtf! the BBQ was a joke it was water with a little sauce! And to top it off our food was cold!!! What a awesome, unexpected stop for an early dinner! Driving along 95 we noticed the billboard and decided we needed to give this place a try! The food was great, but was stood out was the outstanding welcome and hospitality from everyone on the team! We had our dog with us, so they quickly set up a table for us outside, brought him a bowl of water and a surprise pup cup! He loved the treats and the attention! The special chicken sandwich was as awesome and the fries were some of the best I've ever had! Brisket-excellent Pulled pork-really good Sausage-really good Baked Beans- not what I expected. They're more 'smoked chili beans' and not a sweet bbq bean Brussel sprouts-really good, they were roasted and I usually like mine roasted longer, but they were good. Also had the cucumber-tomato salad. My mother in law said it was good! Hahaha Their drinks are canned/bottled and that's totally fine with me. With everything a la carte, the bill adds up in a hurry. The Philthy Combo is good to share for two adults at $24. Three meats and three sides. Food: Man, this hurts me. It's really sub par BBQ. I've had the real deal all over the country and this unfortunately misses the mark on nearly every count. The pulled pork was dry. The brisket was over cooked mush. The sausage has a ton of anise in it. The flavor of the chicken was good but also way over cooked. You didn't need to chew it. Just press it with your tongue. It's probably because everything is held in some sort of liquid in a steamer cabinet. We will give them some time to work on their processes and try again in a few months.
