Limoncello arrives burdened by its own mythology. On social media, it is framed as a transportive experience--sun-washed Amalfi charm, polished plates, and a kind of effortless Italian sophistication that feels curated for the camera. In person, the illusion thins quickly. A reservation had been secured for an indoor table, yet the initial interaction was marked by a persistent attempt to redirect us outside. The suggestion, repeated with quiet insistence, set an early tone: service that felt less like guidance and more like gentle negotiation. We obliged briefly, until rain forced the obvious correction. Even then, the transition indoors felt less than seamless, as though accommodating a basic request required recalibration. Inside, the dining room resists the fantasy it advertises. Where one expects cohesion--light, texture, a sense of place--there is instead a disjointed atmosphere. The décor leans rustic, but without the intimacy or intentionality that makes rusticity appealing. More striking, however, was an intrusive, chemical-leaning odor--sharp enough to register immediately, ambiguous enough to unsettle. Whether the result of cleaning agents or something less benign, it lingered in a way no restaurant can afford. The evening took a more concerning turn at a neighboring table, where multiple diners sent back a lobster dish, citing an unmistakably off smell. A replacement was issued, only to be met with the same complaint. The table, visibly unsettled, opted to abandon the dish altogether. It is difficult to overstate how much an incident like this reverberates across a room; appetite, once compromised, rarely recovers.Against that backdrop, the meal unfolded with diminishing optimism. The pear salad arrived composed but underdeveloped--its sweetness untempered, its balance unresolved. It gestured toward refinement without achieving it. The margherita pizza, often a reliable barometer of a kitchen's discipline, fell short: a slack crust, muted tomato, and mozzarella that failed to assert freshness or depth. The fettuccine with mushrooms leaned heavily on richness without complexity, the sauce coating rather than integrating, the mushrooms contributing little beyond texture. There is, at Limoncello, an evident ambition--to align itself with a certain tier of dining, to meet the expectations of a clientele drawn as much by reputation as by cuisine. But ambition, here, outpaces execution. The disconnect between image and experience is not subtle; it defines the visit. Perhaps this was an off night. Restaurants, like all institutions, have them. But consistency is the currency of credibility, and on this occasion, Limoncello spent freely without replenishment. For a place so buoyed by curated perception, the reality feels notably, and unfortunately, less convincing.

This place looked so cute with the lemon theme, I love lemon theme so had to check it out! It has indoor/outdoor, indoor was super cute but we decided to sit outdoor. The staff is super friendly and kind. When I received my pasta fettuccine I was a little disappointed at appearance, it didn't look that appealing but it actually was super tasty!!! I was impressed. My husband got the chicken parm and the spaghetti packed good flavor! The portion sizes were good.

Found the cutest Italian place on Miami Beach this past week, and also the best meal of the week! Right on Washington Avenue, you get the sense of Italy when sitting on the sidewalk for dinner and be surrounded by cute lemon decor. Even though it was a tad warm this night, the fan provided plenty of air to allow us to enjoy ourselves. We started out with some delicious Limoncello Drop martinis. The perfect sweetness with a garnish was a great round with our appetizers of burrata and calamari. The burrata was cold and creamy and paired well with the prosciutto. The calamari was hot and crispy. For mains, my friends had wine while I went for the Limoncello Mojito, I mean I was in Miami only seemed right! Our pasta dishes and seafood dish were served with a great portion and were hot. I loved how mine was served in a pan! Servers and hostess were friendly and drinks and food served quickly. My only complaint would be is on my reservation I asked for a table inside but we were seated outside. Not sure the miscommunication there but it ended up being ok. Highly recommend this cute gem for a nice Miami Beach meal.

This place is so cute! They do offer amble inside seating as well as outdoor seating. The free bread? Out of this world. The pasta plates? Honestly, some of the best we've had--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The drinks hit the spot and paired beautifully with the meal. On top of all that, the staff was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely fun to interact with. Their energy made our dining experience even better. Of all the places we visited during our trip, Limoncello easily earned a spot in our top 3. We'll be thinking about those pasta plates for a long time.

Great Italian spot! The pastas were delicious. The seafood pasta was very good and so was the cacio e pepe with the steak dish! They have indoor and outdoor seating available; service was good. They have nice wines to choose from and good menu with pizza and such. I would come back again and order the same thing from how delicious it was. If you plan to sit outside, make sure it's closer to evening time, it can get hot!

I was really looking forward to try Limoncello, but was so disappointed when the food did not match the high ratings. All the dishes were mediocre. Be careful with the scan payment, there is an extra charge. The decor is very cute and cozy, the service is friendly.

This is a tough review to write as the food here is TRULY top notch. However, everything else needs a lot of help. We had a reservation and even though it was raining, they tried to seat us outside because come to find out, there is not nearly enough space inside this spot. We sat down and were immediately cramped, as servers were trying to walk behind us the entire time with roughly a foot of space to do so. Additionally, with the rain and humidity they seemed to be having a ceiling issues, where all their vents were dripping including on customers and their food. We started with a bottle of wine, calamari, meatballs and a pizza (which again, were all incredible). We were feeling like the server wanted to rush us even though we were a big party and continually ordering food and drinks. Then, while waiting for our meals one of the servers tripped in one of the many puddles of water from the leaking ceiling and fell and dropped all the food she was carrying. In this process my mom and dad were covered in red sauce. We asked the waitress if she was okay and she said yes, but no one came to check on my family who was now uncomfortably sitting in food. In the chaos, it felt like our server then wanted nothing to do with us, as I think he didn't know how to handle the fiasco. Our food finally arrives, and sadly was extremely tasty but at this point we all just want to leave as the vibes have been completely ruined. When we finally ask for our check the server doesn't offer anything for the inconvenience. My dad asked to speak with a manager, who wasn't even aware of the disaster. My dad explained if someone would have just come up to us and asked if we were okay and if there was anything they could do we would have felt much better about the situation as it was an accident. The manager then offered us a discount on the bill and apologized which was a bit of a consolation. If you are looking for Italian food in the area though, I have to believe there are better options.

This is a relatively premier Italian restaurant with a brilliant vibe and jam packed into the late night. This is a place to go when you're tired of spring-breaky sorority food on plastic menus. The tattooed sprightly waiter from Naples was authentic good, though couldn't talk me into the $150 bottle of red. The staff here were terribly busy but total pros and made sure everyone everywhere, sitting or waiting, was getting what they needed. It's great fun with a lemon scent and a relief to be not on main drag.

Just stopped here cause the decor was so cute and full of lemons, who wouldn't be enticed? Our pastas were perfectly cooked, el dente, flavor well balanced and not heavy like most Italian restaurants. The wood over fired pizza was delicious with thin crust and fresh tasting ingredients. Calamari was crunchy outside, soft inside, and light despite being fried. Service was quick and friendly, probably helped that we were one of 3 other party on prime week day lunch hours. Would definitely come back again if I'm in the area!

Staying in Miami Beach for a long weekend and love Limoncello the drink so that factored into our decision to have dinner here. Starting out, Salvatore our waiter, was AMAZING (in capital letters for a reason). We started with limoncello shots and some sautéed mussels. Had cocktails and the four of us had, spaghetti alle vongole, rigatoni carbonara, lobster ravioli and cacio e pepe. Each was amazing and so tasty. For dessert we had the cannoli and their special lemon and almond cake. Personally I preferred the lemon cake but I love all things lemon. We enjoyed the experience so much that we went back for lunch the next day for more limoncello and a Margherita pizza. Definitely recommend.

We (group of 4) had reservations at 6pm on a Monday night but had no trouble getting seated earlier. We decided to sit outside and when it was cooler they brought out the heat lamps. We shared two appetizers - Polpette meatballs: absolutely delicious! The meatballs were very well flavored and the sauce was a great accompaniment that we used the focaccia to take the last bit - Sautéed mussels: though well cooked, these were a bit bland. I wouldn't get these again On to the entrees - pappardelle funghi e tartufo: after adding parmigian cheese to increase the saltiness, this was amazing. The mushroom flavor and the cream was very well balanced. - chicken parmigiana and spaghetti: very well done. The chicken was crispy but tender and the spaghetti sauce was delicious - linguine al frutti di mare (senza pomodoro): my SIL is a bit picky about tomatoes and requested to removed them from the dish. It resulted in a bland sauce. The seafood was well cooked and had good texture though it lacked flavor -cacio e Pepe with shaved truffle: this lived up to what my brother and cousin saw on Instagram, which is why we came here. They didn't prepare it in front of him, which makes sense as it was a windy evening and we were told they generally don't do that anymore. He loved it. We all got a bite and agree it was very good. For dessert, we shared the Nutella cheesecake. It was a light cheesecake that had Nutella drizzled over it with some pistachios. A "light" dessert was a great ending to the meal. This isn't New York style but after all the carbs and cream, we were all ok with that! The hostesses were very nice. Our waiter, Ryan was funny and fun. It was a great experience overall. Hope to get back there at some point!

Never miss a chance to enjoy food in Limoncello when I'm in Miami. It is my favorite restaurant in this aria! Alway fresh, tasty food and friendly service are guaranteed here. 1) Service was slow. Despite the place being half empty, the wait time consists of 6 min for the menus to arrive, then 8 min for them to take our order, another 12 min for the appetizer, and finally 8 min for the entrées and Sprite (the latter I ordered at the same time as everything else, so 20 min total for your drink to arrive). WHAT THE HELL WERE THE WAITERS DOING!? 2) Food quality was awful. Ordered meatballs (dry and crumbly, even with sauce) and two pastas (both were cold, overly peppery and still hard). 3) Overpriced. Go to the convenience store across the street for a frozen pasta for the same quality for half the price. Moral of the story: Ignore the "Sponsored Results" Any reviews praising this trash place must have been paid for read more

Who could ask for more!? Dining alfresco in South Miami Beach is enough, yet pair it with outstanding seafood and outgoing entertaining servers and you have an amazing evening! The seafood is incredible, large prawns, fresh flakey white fish and an amazing wine list. The meal can be on the pricey side, but well worth it for the amount of food and the overall quality. read more

Let me start off by saying what is good about this restaurant: The food. And let me emphasize that the food was good, not great. I've had far better meals. Beyond the food, I cannot recommend anything else about this establishment. The atmosphere was noisy and oppressive and the waiters were rude and condescending. When we asked to sit outside near a radiator, since it was chilly, the wait staff pretended to ignore us and offered us a table nowhere near an outdoor radiator. When we decided instead to sit inside, they made it seem like it was a personal affront and an imposition. They visibly rolled their eyes at us. The service was sloppy. They brought us a dish that wasn't ours and made it seem like this was our fault when they had to take it away. The plating for the dishes was off and inconsistent. We ordered mussels. And the dish they brought us for the shells wasn't large enough. We were served bread on a flat plate while the table next to us had the bread delivered in a bowl. The waiters were louder than the guests and bumped into the back of my chair several times. Only once apologizing. The restaurant's atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. Our meal was not relaxed. We couldn't wait to leave. The irony is that they acted as if their brutish behavior that puts the customer's needs last is somehow charming. Even in our final moments, they found a way to make our departure fraught by pointing out to my partner that they forgot their jacket while they were reaching for it. As if we were too rube like to exit the premises without making some mistake. There are many other places to get Italian food in South Beach. Do yourself and your family/ friends a favor and choose somewhere else. read more

This was my first afternoon out with a friend in quite some time. Poor me, right? Lol We stopped for a late lunch and was not disappointed. Gian Mario was our fantastic waiter and was hustling to make sure everyone was taken care of and satisfied (not just our table). He was polite and efficient. We both ordered the classic, yup! Pizza margarita and some Limoncello Mojitos. It's not a late lunch in Miami without a Mojito. Pizza was hot and had a very melty cheese pull. It came out fast. It seemed like the whole staff worked together to make sure customers were happy. The mojito was a perfect addition to a late Miami afternoon. Cold, sweet, sour, minty and very pretty. Make sure you meet Salvatore, the bar tender. He is quite charming and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and pretty. It was not pretentious with a European bistro feel. I feel like you could come in beach ware in the afternoon and dress it up for the evening, but not too dressy. Come for drinks, definitely come for food and come to make some new friends. read more

It is a very interesting and eclectic restaurant. I can't remember a time that I had been to something like that. The first thing you noticed when you walk in is the intense seafood smell since I am not a seafood lover I immediately thought that my clothes with smell like this the rest of the night which they did. Our server, Andrea was very kind and seem to be authentically Italian from Napoli. He told us all of the specials and they all sounded really nice. We got the Barada to share as an appetizer and a lemoncello Mojito's and espresso martinis. The lemon Mojitos were very tart, but refreshing and they came in a pint glass, the espresso martinis where are the perfect blend of coffee and creamy goodness. We ordered the burrata to share and I thought it was okay. Not gonna change the world at all. Would look to order soemthing different next time. Ok here's where it got interesting, we ordered our 4 entrees and it took one hour for them to be delivered to the table. We saw at least two tables come in after us order food, eat and leave by the time we actually got our dinners. We found that confusing and frustrating. Not to mention, probably 5 times glasses, pots, and pans seemed to come crashing down to the ground. It was quite startling at times. The table next to us order the sea bass special which they hand prepared table size by lighting it on fire. That was exciting The pasta dish tasted cacce de papi good, but to wait an hour - the portion size was a joke. It was a meager hand full and It was kinda shocking to be honest. I had the the chicken Parmesan which tasted good! It was a big portion on the other hand and I shared it with the pasta goer. All in all, we were full and pleased. Our server was nice and friendly, but it seemed very slow. That could just be three Italian way. Upon receiving the bill, they add 20% gratuity automatically so be sure to look out for that. Also, there is resort fee added to the dinner. We were certainly not staying or at a resort. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal to try once, but no reason to ever go back especially with all the amazing restaurants on south beach. Ciao! read more

Such a lovely place! For an appetizer, I had the fried shrimp and calamari. They were so crispy yet so light. I love that it didn't have that "heavy greasy" feel. The mushroom pappardelle and cacio peppe were good. I loved the steak! It was so tender and glazed with a balsamic sauce, which took it to another level. The atmosphere is what took it to another level. Such beautiful decor. Although, when you sit outside you are super close to the street! The service was also phenomenal. First, don't let the reviews fool you like they did me. Definitely not a 4.7 as it was when we visited. We went expecting the best Italian meal outside of my Nana's house. We were sadly disappointed. Like other reviews, the server directed me to a more expensive dish after I said I wanted the Spaghettoni Alle Vongole ($32), but he pushed the Linguine Al Frutti Di Mare ($42). It was not good. The sauce was bland and had a distinctly fishy taste, but not in a good way. (Yes, I realize it's a fish dish, and I enjoy fish, but something was not quite right with this sauce, IMO.) We started with an appetizer of Burrata with Prosciutto ($16 + $14 extra for meat.), which was very good. My husband had the Tagliata Di Manzo, which he enjoyed well enough. Two drinks, and this was our most expensive meal in Miami while we were there. We visited another local Italian restaurant the next day and fell in love. Went there the next day as well. Upon entering the establishment, the lack of delicious aromas should have tipped me off that it wouldn't be the best Italian meal. Oh well, live and learn. Learn to take Yelp review ratings with a grain of salt. And garlic. :) read more

Everything was delicious. The pasta was well flavored and al dente. One of the better meals we had in Miami. Great, attentive service. Restaurant was small and homey with matching lemon table cloths and miniature I lemon trees at each table. Those little details went a long way. read more

Really not very good pasta and seafood was old. the staff were pushy to sell high end wines. Had Italian down the street and 10x better. Plus the bathrooms and area around had a really bad smell of sewer. First bad review I have ever given. read more

This place is great for a special occasion, as it is a bit pricy. But that is expected in Miami. We started with the burratta and asked for bread to go with it. Absolutely divine. I had the the chicken Parmesan which was a huge portion accompanied with spagetti. Super delicious! My friends tried some off my plate and they all wished they had gotten that. We went to Limoncello for my dad's 80th birthday. I chose this restaurant on mostly the name since my dad loves Limoncello, and I saw the reviews were great. From the moment we arrive until we left the service was top notch! Every dish was perfect - you could tell the pasta was home made! Also, the ambiance was lovely and quaint - like you're at a friend's welcoming home. My dad loved his birthday and we look forward to going back! Our main server, Guido, has a strong point of view which is that good service is talking through their opinions for each section of the menu and heavily guide the customer. Been here for brunch a couple times , the vibe is cute the food is iight for south beach , the service I would say is the best part -- they are attentive to your needs and they have dancers on the weekends I think -- there's a tiny pool that I've seen ppl dive into maybe after a couple mimosas, it's good to come in groups for brunch and have a wild time :) read more

Limoncello was such a delightful suprise! The staff were all Italian and really friendly and attentive especially Stephano. He was really nice and had great recommendations. We tried the calamari, Parmigiano with eggplant for appetizer and they were both great. The calamari were lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The eggplant was in a housemade red sauce . Dont forget to take the focaccia and scape all that yummy sauce up. For the main entre we tried the gnocchi bolognese and the papperdelle mushroom. Wow both were excellent! Textures and flavors were spot on! It is so nice to have a new authentic italian spot to go to in south beach with exceptional customer service. read more

I have never had such creamy polenta in my life. the truffle and cheese in this was enough to almost bring me to tears. This is how great food is done. Even the salad and the simple dressing was amazing, really fresh and delicious. We tried three different pasta dishes, but my favorite without a doubt was the lamb ragu. This dish was everything. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. You know that lamb will sometimes have a gamey flavor? Not this dish. My second favorite pasta dish was the truffle ravioli. It's not like a truffle infused oil or salt they used, its actual shaved truffle, so delicious. The bread, the good quality olive oil, everything was fantastic. Even though my beloved bakery belongs to the past; in its place is now another magnificent establishment that I will look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Miami Beach.

The pasta itself was cooked al dente, but I believe the problem was with the sauce. I didn't even enjoy the flavor while I was eating it. I asked for Parmesan to make it taste better, but honestly, I wish I had stopped eating it altogether. I'm sharing this experience in the hope that more attention will be paid to food freshness and kitchen hygiene. When food safety standards slip, people don't just lose money--they lose their health and valuable vacation time as well. I wish I could give zero stars!

They had a band with a singer the night I went. I thought it was open roof, but it's not. It was pretty warm in there. They have fans but none of them was pointing towards our table. I got the Caesar as an app and the Salmon as my main. We shared the Caesar and we all thought it was great! It had a good blend of anchovy, creamy, with lemon zest to it. The flavors all balanced out well. I thought the salon was pretty good! It was a good cut of salmon that was flakey and fatty. I also tried the rigatoni which was good, but not the best I've had. I liked the Tiramisu! It was very creamy. The lady fingers were pretty soft. I usually like mine with a little more structure and coffee flavor to it. I thought the flourless chocolate cake was pretty rich and dense. It's definitely something you can only eat a little of and have to share lol Overall I think the vibes were nice, but the food was mid. I had a wonderful dining experience! The ambiance was gorgeous, with a vibrant vibe that made the evening feel special, especially with the owner's delightful singing and dancing. Think Mama Mia in Live Action. The only thing to take into consideration was the seating--it's a bit tight inside, but there is outdoor seating available, which is a nice option. Now, onto the food! We started with the Linguine Scoglio, which was packed with fresh seafood and bursting with flavor. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and they opened up the claw and pulled out the lobster meat " chefs kiss " The Pappardelle Funghi with truffle was so good I could have licked the plate clean! While the tiger shrimp was tasty, I wouldn't order it again as I felt it was pretty expensive and I would rather get something better at the same price. The service was exceptional. The staff, including the owner, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. As a lovely surprise, they treated us to their amazing tiramisu, which was light and perfectly sweet. Just a tip: they already add a service charge, so keep that in mind when tipping. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a fun evening filled with fantastic food and great vibes! First time here and absolutely loved it! I ordered the octopus and calamari as my apps. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly! The potato and leek sauce complimented the Octopus very well. The calamari was also divine! It wasn't chewy and it wasn't soggy. Fried perfectly and it was very flavorful! It's rare to find a good calamari dish in miami. For my main dish I ordered the special which was a strip steak topped with arugula, shaved Parmesan and sliced cherry tomatoes. It also came with a delicious side of Cacio e Pepe. So good!!!! Wow! My friend got the seafood pasta special. It came with a whole lobster claw, mussels, and grilled calamari in a lobster reduction sauce. It was spectacular! We dropped by Miami for a quick 2 day vacation. We arrived a little later at night and decided to go to his restaurant as they were close to our hotel. Ambience 5/5: as my wife says, cute restaurant and romantic ambience with romantic songs Service: 5/5 they customer service was excellent. Attention to detail and promptness Food: for the app, we got the buratta. It was the best buratta I have had in the US!! For main cou my wife got the branzino and I got the chicken Parm. The branzino was 5/5. The experience is also amazing (see video). Chicken parm I would rate 4/5. The chicken it self was slightly overdone but the spaghetti it came with was mind blowing! Happened upon this place by accident. The decor is so cute you are drawn to it. When you walk in you are welcomed by wonderful Staff and the owner. We had the daily special which was homemade pasta and ribeye steak. I never order steak out because I am not the biggest fan but it sounded good so we tried it. Let me tell you, it melted in your mouth. They brought out the steak along with the pasta and proceeded to toss the pasta in the parmesan cheese wheel. The ambiance was so vibrant and uplifting that it felt like we were transported straight to Italy. Our waiter, regrettably, I've forgotten his name, but he hailed from Naples, was absolutely fantastic--so cheerful and attentive. I was extremely excited that I discovered such a wonderful location in Miami while my recent trip there with my spouse and children. The atmosphere was so lively and positive that it seemed as though we had been flown directly to Italy. Unfortunately, I cannot recall his full name, but our server originated from Naples, and the guy was very kind and helpful. He was particularly kind to the children, which is common to Italians. Had dinner with my wife, son, sister, & her husband. We all very much enjoyed our meal which included the Buratta appetizer with prosciutto, Bronzino, steak special, chicken Parmesan, and lasagna. The food was outstanding and the service staff which included the owner was very friendly and attentive. I debated getting the tiramisu for dessert and decided to pass, however was surprised when they brought one to the table as well as a lemon cello shot for each of us at the table. Happened on this spot by chance and was so glad I did.Loved everything about it ....The staff were friendly and the owner Marco was very personable ...I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies it was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious I ordered a margarita from their cocktail list to start and had a glass of pinot grigio on the recommendation of Marco that paired perfectly with it...I thoroughly recommend this place and was disappointed that I didn't get to go back...will be visiting again in December and it is on my list cant wait! read more

Incredible! Wonderful service and stylish, welcoming servers, especially Alessandro from Argentina. The owner was fantastic - lit a fish on fire and filleted it before my eyes! Very traditional Italian food - takes me back to another lifetime on the streets of Bologna... For dessert, the cannoli and tiramisu are a MUST. Don't forget to cleanse your palette with a swig of complimentary limoncello (and bring a lactaid if you have tummy issues!). Great people watching spot; you never know what you'll see!
