The peanut noodles had medium width wheat noodles tossed in a runny and smooth peanut sauce, which tasted like toasted peanuts. The noodles were hot and didn't clump together. The shrimp dumplings (boiled) with lime chili sauce looked bright and refreshing. The lime chili sauce looked like salsa verde but smelled and tasted like a Southeast Asian dressing. The dumplings' wrappers were pretty thin and mostly silky smooth. The shrimp meat was roughly chopped and similar to har gow. The sichuan chili oil was fun to try but kind of overpowered the chili lime sauce. There's a few tables and a seated bar area. The single restroom was clean, but you can only get to it through a small hallway that's partially used as storage. Food comes out pretty quickly.

Good Asian food but definitely priced on location. The pan-fried veggie dumplings were incredible. The wonton soup could have been better, it was pretty heavy on the vinegar side and I would've liked to taste more broth. This location is pretty tiny, there's some bar seating and a couple of small tables. We came when it was packed, the cashier was quick and food took maybe 10-15 min to come out.

I have not dined in, only for takeout. When I went inside the tables seemed all filled and I can see why! Delicious dumplings (chicken, shrimp) and still need to try the beef dumplings that my friends have raved about! The chicken soup is great too, had it with gluten-free noodles. The staff in the front are so nice! They were friendly and helpful despite how busy they were on a Friday night.

We were in West Village for my HBD weekend and yelped Lin and Daughters and found this cozy tiny spot! It was walking distance from our apartment here in West Village and our first spot out on the town. Upon entering: the space is very compact and unassuming. But luckily there were spots at the bar for us 3 for a yummy casual dinner. My salad was super delicious, I'd order it again in a minute and so was my jasmine boba milk tea. On a cold, snowy day! The service is awesome bc you are sitting right at the bar, everything is served quickly. The soups, salads, dumplings, and boba teas. For us three, it was under $100 which is affordable for 3 folks for the West Village. Street parking can be found, but that's a roll of the dice since we were right off of Bleecker Street. Better to leave the car and explore and walk around everything. Thanks for a yummy dinner and getting our limbs warmed up on a snowy evening.

Good Asian food in West Village. The dining space is quite small; best to dine as a party of 2 at most or dine solo (or take it to go). There wasn't much space to put my jacket. If I hung it up on the hooks or on the bar seats it touched the floor :/ My friend and I really enjoyed the dumplings!! There were a lot of noodle dishes to choose from. We liked the dan dan noodles; strong flavor of crispy pork. The chicken noodle soup was good too, although the flavor of tumeric I think it was (a yellow spice) was a tad strong for my taste.

- peanut noodle: this was sooooooooooo good!!!! I ordered one plate of peanut noodle and immediately went to order a second plate - dan dan noodle: the fried pork bits were a little strange, but still decent - dumpling: they are dumplings. Nothing special but it was good

Came here before hitting the bars. Really tiny spot in the middle of the village. Cute vibe but don't come here with a group more than 4. Ordered a few dishes and the overall experience was ok, food wise. Peanut Butter Noodles - sauce was really watery. Flavor wasn't really there. It was very mild. Honestly, it was giving me elevated instant noodle vibes, which I was sad about because I was hoping for a rich peanut butter experience. Shoudl've got the dan dan noodles. Beef pot stickers - these were good. Had a cumin profile to the taste. Don't see many beef dumplings, at least not out in CA but this was good. I'd probably want to try the chicken next time. Cheese and beef wraps - these were the highlight of the meal. Can't really beat anything wrapped in a scallion pancake. Flavors were good. Sauces fit perfectly. I could eat a million of these things.

This is a cute spot serving Chinese and fusion dishes that are a bit pricier than you'd normally expect to pay, but hey, we're looking at West Village prices, not Chinatown. The pan-fried curry chicken dumplings are delicious. I also thoroughly enjoy the peanut butter noodles, which have a great al dente texture and flavorful peanut-y sauce. I've visited twice and it was packed on a Friday night, but the turnover's pretty quick, especially with the barstool seating. It's good to have this option in the area when I'm on the lookout for tasty and comforting Chinese food. I need to return for the beef noodle soup, garlic butter udon, and cumin beef dumplings!

As soon as I came back to NYC (sorry, Winter) all I could think about was my favorite boba ever-- the Chocolate Lava. Have also been meaning to try their shrimp dumplings. Stopped in today for both and was blown away. Boba was as fantastic as it's always been but the SHRIMP DUMPLINGS, THOUGH. I added a little sriracha over top. They were easily some of the best I've ever had with that cilantro-heavy chili lime sauce.. I drank it from the platter. I could have eaten 20 more. Wish they had just oooone more pescatarian-only option (but am hella excited to try the vegetarian stuff: veg. dumplings and peanut noodles). Every dish, even as a pescatarian, looks outstanding and I wish I could try them all! This is a family run restaurant and you can taste how much love they put into the food, into keeping a clean and cute space, and into their customer service. Will eventually branch out and try another tea but today was not that day hehe

Today I came here to try their cumin beef dumpling. Pro's: Good crispy bottom, decent amount of juicy inside. Cons: Almost No cumin flavor, or any flavor for that matter. Super boring. Super overpriced. Overall: Won't be back, not worth it. The dumplings were boring and overpriced.

Multiple new Chinese restaurant corridors have cropped up all over the NYC area in recent years beyond our many Chinatowns. They include LIC, the East Village, Kips Bay, the Upper West Side, Harlem, and across the river in Jersey City. Lin & Daughters adds to the many new Chinese restaurants in the West Village, catering to a mostly NYU crowd. The place is so cute, with pictures of their dishes hung up on their wall so you know exactly what you're getting. They really pack as much seating as possible into their little space, so don't expect to be too comfortable but at least you have somewhere to perch while you chow down on their handmade dumplings. The pan fried curry chicken dumplings I got were quite good, full of flavor and nice chewy dumpling skins. I liked their cheesy scallion pancakes but most of all their chicken noodle soup, which was just what I needed on this cold evening. You can get a filling meal here and be in and out in under an hour, and even get sake with it.

Friendly service with a small but inviting space. There are a handful of tables and bar seats available. It is very casual- you order at the register, pick your seat and put away your dishes when done. We went in the late afternoon and there were a couple of tables available. Ordered pan fried dumplings, dan dan noodles and beef noodle soup. I wish the dumplings were more crispy vs a slight crisp and a little less greasy. Both noodle dishes were good, but I would recommend the beef noodle soup over the dan dan noodles. Overall filling meal!

Strawberry Cheesecake drink with boba
Carina H.

The Strawberry Cheesecake drink truly tasted like a strawberry cheesecake in liquid form (minus the crust), and the boba was chewy. The Beef Noodle Soup was filling and had plenty of beef and bok choy. Although I'm personally a fan of thicker noodles, I liked how al dente the noodles were here. The beef was also very tender. The service was quick, despite most tables being occupied on a weeknight. It was the perfect place for a quick meal alone, and it wasn't too loud.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I hadn't been to EDH in a while and was happy to see they do have later hours (with a smaller late night menu). The place was pretty busy at 10:00 PM last Saturday, with a wide range of diners, which is good for business. The food though, at least that night, was really disappointing. My friend had the chicken dumplings. He said they were okay. I thought they were overcooked. My steamed shrimp shumai were fine, but steamed, they didn't have much flavour. The edamame, on the other hand, had way too much when it should have almost none. I don't know if it was excess salt, MSG or something else, but not good. I should have sent them back. I hope this was just an off night for the kitchen.

The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am. I had high hopes for a fun and tasty experience in a cool part of the city and it just wasn't.
