We ordered the steamed pork and chive dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles to go. The pork and chive dumplings come in a box of 8, with soft and thin dumpling skin to hold the juicy pork and chive together. Even to go it was a still fresh and delectable. This is their ginger tea in the image, which was honestly nothing special (it needs more ginger, see if they're open to adding it?), but quite good on a hot day. You'll regret not getting it more than passing. If you go here it is for the food which has been crafted with over 15 years of experience from the owner! The noodles were lacking some chew, and honestly less chicken than I was hoping for. The pork and chive dumplings were very solid; the skin had a nice chew. The filling had a very unique flavor to it that's doesn't feel traditional; still not exactly sure how I feel about it. The cheese on top is tasty and I love matching it with the cucumber salad. The cucumber salad is delectable and the sauce it's mixed in makes me want to drink it lol:) the cucumbers taste so fresh and crunchy and this salad goes well with anything on the menu. Spicy wontons are the best ever and melt in your mouth. The seasoning is just right and the spice is just enough. Lastly I love the chicken soup. Feels like a big hug in a bowl. Not only is food fresh, but the service is top tier. Kai is amazing and always so kind. Love hearing her recommendations and sharing stories with her. Kai has recommended some of the dishes here that have now became my favorite. Really a great place to dine:) feels like I am sitting in the chefs home and being served with love. Definitely the most outstanding Chinese comfort food I have ever had. I give this place a 11/10. Also the ginger ice tea is refreshing!! My friend and I came in and split two plates of dumplings-- the shrimp with lime and the curry chicken dumplings. Right off the bat, what's notable is how distinct both of these dumplings are. It's not just the filling that's different; the wrappers are different and the flavors, one being the lime and one being the curry, are unique. I've never had dumplings with this lime sauce before, and I also don't think I've had curry dumplings before. Both dumplings were delicious and easy to finish, but I felt like they were just missing something flavor wise. I think both could have used a bit more salt. With the shrimp ones, you definitely got a lot of chili lime sauce, but nothing added from the shrimp itself. The chicken curry dumplings had just the right hint of curry in them, but I think I was looking for one more note of flavor. Overall though, I was super satisfied with what I got, and really impressed by the range of dumplings that you're able to get, from the classic pork and chive, to some of these special dumplings that we were able to try! The wontons themselves were good as well, although the tails were a bit thick and so didn't fully absorb the flavor of the soup, making them a bit floury. Forget Chinatown for dumplings, because Lin & Daughters is superb. The Shrimp Dumplings with Lime Chili Sauce are sublime, but everything we ate was excellent. We went on a Saturday mid-afternoon and sat at the bar without a wait. The room is tiny, with only 14 seats (6 at the bar, two 2 tops, one 4 top) but they seemed to do a busy delivery/take away business. The staff couldn't have been nicer, too. Very cute location. The inside of the restaurant seats around 15-20. You pay at the counter and the staff brings your food out to you. I got the beef noodle soup. It contained noodles, bok choy, jalapeños, beef, cilantro and noodles. Just having come back from a trip to Taiwan, I can tell the dish isn't very authentic. The soup base reminded me a little of the gourmet instant noodles you can get in Asia, but the taste is on par with other beef noodle soups you can get around the city. The noodles could be a little firmer. Can't comment on the rest of the dishes, as the beef noodle soup was the only dish I got, but the dumplings do look pretty tasty. read more

This place is truly a GEM, a gem I tell ya! I was walking by, and it called to me. So cute and quaint it looked while walking on the sidewalk, and I am so so utterly glad I went in. As soon as I came in I was greeted by a lovely woman at the front who directed me to the menu on the wall. Which by the way gives true old school NYC vibes. It made me think of the days of going to school in the upper west side and coming to China town and seeing the small menu and ordering quickly. This place has a beautiful modern twist with a nostalgic vibe, it's a place that even though you've never been it feels familiar in such a comforting way. I felt at home, and at peace sitting down. It's very calm, quiet, and smells lovely. I adore how clean it is as well. I ordered the cheese scallion pancake, dumplings, and a tea. Everything was utterly delicious. I've never had cheese on my scallion pancakes, but it brought a delicious and salty umami taste to it. Very crispy, and then the cheese pull just takes it home for that delicious taste. It tasted like possibly mozzarella/something of that sort. It was so cheesy, with that crisp, I added vinegar and soy sauce with their hot chili oil as a dip. Woooo I saw STARS BABY. What a meal. Then as I was enjoying my pancakes, the dumplings came out....these are some of the best dumplings ive had. Juicy, tender meat, perfectly made. You get the crispness of that pan fry, then you get that juicy pork with the flavorful chives. What an experience biting into one. I had one withou sauce first of course, then when you add the sauce and their homemade chili oil? Baby it'll blow your MIND. When I tell you I finished it all.... Absolutely lovely meal. The tea was queen crown on top. Refreshing, ice cold, and NOT TOO SWEET. Yes, I said the magical words, not too sweet. They've impressed me beyond words. It felt like having a meal with a family friend coming and eating there. I was so at peace enjoying my meal. Everyone who came in or worked behind had such lovely smiles and it just was such a vibe.
