celebrating a special birthday and this did not disappoint!! we put our names down for an 8pm reservation at 7:30 and were seated as anticipated! we were hungry and service was fast so really no issues there food was really good - really liked the okra and dan dan noodles. the fried chicken definitely hit but wasnt the best ive had. could have done without the tofu but was nice to have. they even gave us a dessert on the house to celebrate a birthday! our server was so kind and on it w the water refills. even boxed up our food since we ordered a lot and didnt have much space would recommend and come back!!

The restaurant is super pretty and looks ready to accommodate bigger groups too Osmanthus oolong cocktail - lightly sweet and pretty tea forward! Not too floral! Very good 4/5 Tipsy peach - not too sweet and made very deliciously! 4/5 Lobster mapo tofu - one of the best mapo tofu I've had! Tofu is silky, sauce is savory, spicy and the perfect amount of numbing (perfect for me is just a little tingle), the Sichuan flavor, and matches super well with the sweet lobster! Only thing is the lobster I think is slightly overcooked. Also plate looks way bigger than it actually is since it's very shallow 4.25/5 Xiao long bao - broth is very savory and flavorful! Meat is good too, skin is not too thick 3.75/5 Cucumber salad - the seasoning is actually super yummy but the cucumbers are very fresh and not pickled like at all. Not my complaint but my finance complains they removed all the outer skin which takes away from some of the crunch but like still crunchy 3.5/5

Came at 6pm for dinner on a Thursday night. Wasn't too packed but definitely started to pick up as we were sat. Food was so delicious! What we ordered and what I would recommend: Peking duck, spicy chicken fried rice w/ pepper, sauteed pea shoots and crab tofu. Only thing is the food isn't as spicy as I would've thought / liked, but otherwise authentic. The interior is very well-decorated, although the seats were a little uncomfortable + our chairs were too close to the table behind us without much room. Overall great experience + food!

Sichuan Chili fried chicken... Great dish

Was craving Chinese food on a cold April evening and yelped Chinese restaurants when this one popped up. Since I was close to East Village decided to try this highly recommended restaurant. Luckily street parking opened up when I was in that block, parked and walked over to Uluh. This place has a great ambiance. It's dark, romantic and just an overall cool vibe. I was in the mood for something spicy so ordered the Sichuan chili fried chicken along with white rice. The service was prompt and the dish itself was gorgeous, as you can see from the attached picture. The dark lighting probably enhanced the visual and the rest I let it to my taste buds! For those who haven't tried this dish, it's bark is worse than it's bite, so yes it looks super spicy but it really isn't. The chicken was well flavored, crisp yet juicy and the fried chilies added the right warmth to it. The place is much larger than it looks and they do have a private dinning area from larger group, which actually looked like a good place to try. Definitely on my repeat list.

We came for dimsum/early lunch on a weekday right when they opened, so there was plenty of seating. We ordered the pumpkin puffs, duck pancake, XLB, dimsum platter, panfried dumplings and a spicy whole fish! Me and my mom can't usually handle spicy but the fish was cooked super well and really tasty. It was less spicy on the underside of the fish for some reason so we were able to enjoy a few bites before it became too hot for us. The rest of our party can handle their spicy and enjoyed it thoroughly! The dimsum was also very good and decently sized. It's definitely not your classic dimsum experience but it was a good "upscale" alternative!

If you don't have a reservation, I'd recommend you come early as there usually seems to be a few tables available for walk ins (weekdays). The ambience is such a vibe, especially during this holiday season where they have a ton of decorations up. But wow am I actually impressed by the food here, the food tasted authentic and supremely spicy. The balance of spices that chef uses here is fantastic and made every dish that we had excellent. Stars of the show for me was the trotters, duck, and mapo tofu. I would highly recommend getting white rice as it pairs perfectly with the numbing and the spice. Service was excellent as they were constantly filling up our waters as we were chugging away due to the spiciness.

Definitely makes the list for one of my favorite Chinese/Szechuan spots in the city, and for reasonable prices too! Came for dinner with 2 others, and we ordered the tripe & tendon, dan dan noodles, fatty beef in sour soup, crab tofu, and chili fried chicken. This was the perfect amount of food for variety, and we had so many leftovers! I enjoyed all of the dishes, but was quite pleasantly surprised by fatty beef in sour soup. I didn't know what to really expect of this, but it was a nice balance of sour & spicy. Dan dan noodles are always a favorite for me. The chicken & tofu both had good flavor. Service was really quick & efficient. Great spot for both group dinners & casual date nights.

We came here for dinner and ordered the dim sum platter, brown sugar glazed pecking duck, mini pumpkin puff, crab tofu, woodear mushroom salad, and the soup dumplings. Out of everything I tried, my favorite was the crab tofu. It was wonderfully silky, with a rich umami flavor from the crab that accompanied each bite. Great spot overall! Portions do lean on the smaller side, but the flavors were on point. The ambiance was great, and everything was beautifully presented.

Delicious Asian restaurant right off of 2nd ave in the Lower East Side. The vibe and decor here is awesome. Definitely adds to the experience. The food was delicious though. I was able to sample multiple dishes here and they were all delicious. The presentation for the dishes were awesome as well. I was there for lunch and it wasn't busy but the service was amazing nonetheless.

Uluh reminds me of the fancy restaurants in Hong Kong that my family would take me for special occasions, from the beautifully plated dishes, elevated and bold flavors, to the well-decorated interiors. We got the crab tofu, salted egg yolk pumpkin pudding, fatty beef in sour soup, black truffle fried rice, a small peking duck, and a pot of Yunnan Wild Rose tea for 4 people. We could barely finish everything! The crab tofu and salty egg yolk pumpkin pudding were the stars of the show - the crab was flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness, and the tofu was very soft and smooth. As someone who loves sweet and savory combinations, I loved the salty egg yolk pumpkin pudding as it offers a mix of contrasting texture and flavors, making it perfect to round out the main dishes. The black truffle fried rice and Peking Duck were good, but nothing too unique. The fatty beef was our least favorite - the soup was too sour and some of the beef were pretty chewy. The service was quick and attentive. It's a little pricey but overall a solid place if you're looking for a more upscale dining experience!

Uluh is a strong choice if you want elevated Chinese cuisine with modern touches in NYC. The food is reliably good, atmosphere polished, and signature dishes worth ordering. If you're looking for ultra-authentic, extremely low-price Chinese food or a very quiet setting, you might find trade-offs. But for a special evening or exploring regional Chinese flavors in a contemporary setting, Uluh delivers. Service is friendly n courteous

Came here with my boyfriend for dinner at around 8pm on a weekend night. We waited for around 15min and we got seated. We got the crab tofu, green peppercorn chicken, brown sugar glazed Peking duck, and sautéed string beans. The food came very fast, probably 5 min after we ordered. Everything tasted good overall, and the sautéed string beans was my favorite. I think the Peking duck was only okay. The portion of the duck was decent but it was a bit dry. I also wish they had a lid to cover the steamed wrappers so that they stay moist while we're eating. We also ordered a side of rice and the rice was pretty dry. Overall, I think most of the dishes tasted pretty good. I liked how fast everything came and the ambiance in the restaurant was great. May come back with more people so that we can try more dishes in the future!

Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice.
