I love Dr.Nili, the only bad thing about him is, it makes it hard for you to see any other dentist. since you will NOT receive the same level of comfort and service from any other doctor. Quite frankly I think 80% of Chicago dentists have to record a session of Dr.Nili's work and watch it everyday and learn from his way of treating patients. I wish I had found him sooner. He explains the procedures for you in a nice way, he is extremely cautious of you and your pain, and makes sure you are as comfortable and relax as possible. and does his best to save your tooth from unnecessary operations and your money. he is very very gentle when dealing with your body, sometimes I feel like he can feel exactly what I feel, and knows when I will have pain before I know and prevents it. he is very professional, very polite, very clean, and patient and cautious of your health . treats you like he would treat his own teeth. Both of the repetitions (Eva and Ana) are very polite and nice and happy, anytime I see them they are in a good mood and try to help you with best they can, and that's very hard job, since they have to deal with insurance complexities. however they do need a new fax machine ( their fax machine doesn't work sometimes) read more

I've had a cleaning, X-rays, and two cavities filled. I'm petrified of dental work (after a really bad experience inviting the horrendous removal of a failed dental implant back in 2023), so I really freaked out when the dentist wanted to give me shots and fill a cavity. But she understood and she gave me time to get myself together and in the end I had to reschedule. When I came back she was so kind and calm and reassuring. She did everything to help me relax. I went back yesterday for the 2nd of 4 fillings. We had a lovely chat about reason things and the procedure went just fine. I've just read all the negative reviews on here, but I see that they're all old. So, I will wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Emile and this office. read more

The care is not good here and they do not respond. I have been going to this place for 2 years for 6-month cleanings. The cleaning were subpar and when the doctor told me a cracked my sealant and it needed replaced, I do not think the job was well done. It was very thin and my teeth didn't change. I attended lincoln park dentistry for a few years. I will never go back. I was constantly upcharged and it was almost like they waited to see what my insurance covered and then the dentist would come back and tell me I needed spot fillings - little fillings on "areas I was susceptible to getting cavities". It would be a 600-900 bill every time I went after insurance. I have since been to two other dentists in the area who BOTH said that this was totally unnecessary and that this is a common scam with dentists in the area. read more

I would not recommend going here. During my last visit, I was told I needed an immediate crown and root canal (despite having no pain), I got a second opinion and it turned out I didn't need the procedures and didn't even have a cavity! The dentist that provided me with the second opinion said the x-rays had been completely misread and it was strange that they even came to that diagnosis. I had been going for several years, with great care. But they recently changed management/staff/dentist who recommended I get a completely unnecessary oral surgery procedure...not good. I found Lincoln Park Dentistry through my insurance provider. I selected it because I was new to the city, and it was very close to my apartment. However, this was the worst experience I've ever had at a dental office. When I called to schedule an appointment, they were booked 3 months out because they only had one dentist at the time. As for the visit, I didn't have to wait long because I went at 7am on a weekday. I was the only person there at that time. The hygienist was friendly. However, the actual teeth cleaning was unacceptable. I have some issues with gingivitis so I went for the deep cleaning, even though it cost more. The deep cleaning didn't do anything! I feel like other dentists have cleaned my teeth better with standard cleaning than the $300 deep cleaning I received here. Also, the dentist told me that my teeth were fine and the gingivitis was minimal, but he still came back with 3 referrals for me! Why tell me my gums are fine then tell me I need to see a gum specialist? I didn't even get a free toothbrush when I left. I will not be going back here, and I would not recommend settling for this mediocre dentist when Chicago is full of other offices. read more

This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. The overall energy within the office was unwelcoming and cold. Once seated, the doctor failed to ask me any questions about myself and told me that I would not be receiving a full exam because I refused the Xray. I refused the Xray because the office could not confirm that it would be covered by my insurance. I also already knew I would not be returning to this office (given the overall bad feeling I had upon arrival) so I did not think an Xray was necessary. The dental "cleaning" was so far below any other cleaning I have ever received. It took a total of 10 minutes from start to finish and they did not even floss my teeth! I was told by the doctor that I have a cavity that needs to be filled, but there is no way I will ever be returning to this office. I am going to a separate dentist to redo my cleaning and also look at the supposed cavity. I'm trying to think of the best way to write this review without sounding like a disgruntled crazy bitch, but here goes... Picture this. You're fairly new to the city, you don't have a dentist. You call LP Denitstry because it's nearby and get an appointment for a cleaning with Dr. Lewis. It's a couple months away, but not a big deal. You're also told that you'll have two appointments - some sort of consult, then you have to come back a second time for the actual cleaning. Jigga what? Your appointment day finally rolls around and you are sick. You have been on antibiotics for two days, but you call the dentist office to see if you should still come in knowing you're likely not contagious anymore. They tell you no. They also tell you that you won't be charged the appointment cancellation fee of $30 because you're legitimately sick. You try to make another appointment, but the wait is insanely long. You are put on some sort of "cancelation list", meaning they'll call you when someone cancels so you can come in sooner. Life goes on. You pretty much forgot about the dentist, until one day you get a bill in the mail. They charged you for that canceled appointment from when you were sick. You think to yourself, "not a big deal, I'll just call and sort it out." After all, they said there would be no charge. Seems easy enough, right? Wrong. You call. The psycho hose beast office manager refuses to waive the fee, despite the fact that you were told NOT TO COME IN. You offer to provide documentation from your doctor - nope. You argue. Yes, it's only $30 but it's the principle that they are lying pieces of shit. You tell her I'm not paying it. She tells you she'll send you to collections. You tell her you want to speak to her boss. She gets even more pissy with you, tells you someone will call you back. No one ever called me back. The bill stopped coming, and it never went to collections (that I know of), so I assume this was taken care of. But it would have been nice for some follow up, an apology, and I don't know, standing by what they originally told me?? It's been years since this happened and I still get irritated at the mere sight of the name. read more

Due to a change at my work, I have HMO dental insurance (CIGNA) now. I can only go to "in network" dentists. After some research, I chose Lincoln Park Dentistry. Not because they looked good but because they seemed the least bad. Some of the yelp reviews of the other "in network" dentists are just freaking terrible. I definitely got the feeling that dentists that accept my insurance are bottom of the barrel. Starving for patients I guess. I showed up for my appt... The office is low end but adequate. Old furniture, cramped, and an 80s feel. OK by me I had made an apt for a cleaning. I was called in 30 mins late. OK by me Right away, without saying a word, the hygienist put a lead blanket on me in preparation for Xrays. What? Do I have a say? I interupted and told her I was in for a cleaning, had a full scan 1 yr ago and wasn't in for Xrays. No dice. She insisted on the Xray. I said no. She said it was part of the full exam. I said no. She said it's important for my health. I said no. She called in the doctor. The doctor insisted I take the Xray. She said (Dr Baruch) that I could not have a cleaning without an Xray. I explained that Xrays are for checking cavities and I'm in for a cleaning. She insisted. I told her no. She insisted. Etc Etc Etc. After about 10X back and forth (really) I got up and walked out. For the record, I've never been to any doctor and done that before. Is there some law that says dentists have the right to preform a procedure you don't want? What the hell just happened??? My 20-year-old pre-med, straight A student saw Dr Harris Jatoi for a routine dental cleaning. She has zero symptoms, beautiful white teeth, frequent brusher and flosser, has had braces and zero lapses in her dental care. He suggested she get some type of resin treatment to prevent cavities (though she didn't have any cavities) - he reassured her he would 'run it through her insurance'. This is an obvious case of taking advantage of someone who is not savvy to the aggressive peddling of faux dental services. $975 later, she called me very upset - feeling very uncertain about her decision. As a physician, committed to caring for people honestly and openly, I find this outrageous and very unprofessional. read more

I am generally an easy person and know that when you get something and it's the best, you usually have to pay for it. I'm from the east coast, I get over charged for everything but this office goes above and beyond over charging. My mother-in-law has been in dentistry for over 30 years and when she saw this "treatment plan" that I was given, she almost fell off her seat. I called my insurance company and found out what I should be paying, sometimes it was 4 times the actual amount. Then I called the office and they (who were completely rude, when I could get them on the phone) blamed the people that input the prices in the computers. What a joke!!! I switched my dentist and when I went to get my records and X-Rays, they asked me "why I was switching?" I said "because you tried to rob me!" I was a patient here for several years, only because they were the oly place that accepted my DMO that was near my home; however, LPD has unreasonably inflexible operating hours, which is enough of a reason to never go here. The dentists were totally fine, but I had nothing but trouble with their front desk staff. A few years ago, I unknowingly missed an appointment (which is probably a familiar problem with LPD, as they book you six-plus months in advance), and when I called to make my next one, thinking I was overdue for a cleaning, the front desk clerk (like another Yelper has said) said that I had missed my previous appointment (only days before I called, ironically) and said I would be charged $30. At the time, the office where I worked had a nifty phone system that made a permanent, searchable record on my computer of every inbound and outbound phone call. The LPD desk clerk said that they had definitely called to remind me of my appointment at my office number. I called shenanigans, explained that I had no record of their call and insisted that I get the charge reversed (I should have blown them off but apparently I would have been turned over to a collections agency!), and ended up getting a heated phone call from the office manager the next day. She was OUTRAGEOUSLY rude--I could tell she was the kind of person who loves to get into bar fights--who screamed (yes, screamed) "ARE YOU ACCUSING MY GIRL OF LYING?" at me. Your "Girl," eh? I don't appreciate that kind of backward language--it's demeaning and ignorant, not to mention unprofessional. I maintained that I was not told of the appointment, but paid the late fee anyway. I still needed a teeth cleaning, but have moved on to a new dentist. Do the same, Yelpers. read more

I have been going to LP Dentistry for about three years now. If you asked me two years ago how many stars I would give them, it would have been one. I used to go to a horrible dentist there--the lovely Dr. Lewis. She sucked and finally got canned I guess. Thank goodness, because she was a bumbling idiot. Also, the specialist that they bring in for root canals is a hack--he did one for me about two years ago and I ended up having to go to Lincoln Park Dental Specialists to get it redone (and of course had to pay for the redo--apparently insurance coverage on fixing someone else's mistake is very limited). What's worse than a root canal? A second root canal. Then I started seeing Dr. Castor, who is wonderful! She is nice to talk to, knows what she is doing, and is gentle enough that I'm not in pain but tough enough that I feel like something effective is happening. I also really like her hygienist. The receptionists are bitches, but I don't really care about that when I go to the dentist. I am not looking for touchy feely stuff when I go to a doctor or dentist, just someone who knows what they are doing. I haven't had the difficulty getting appointments that others seem to have had--I just make sure to book six months in advance and make sure that come hell or high water I make that appointment! 5 stars for Dr. Castor, but one for the chick I used to see. So I guess that averages out to three, right? I should probably look for a new dentist since I haven't lived in area for two years, but that sounds like an awful lot of work... read more

I grew up going to the same dentist twice a year for nearly 15 years. My parents were chatty with the staff and the dentist recognized me each and every time I sat in his chair. Best of all, I got to open the "treasure chest" of plastic toys and take one home after each visit. So I suppose I've got high standards when it comes to dentists. As far as dental offices go, LP Dentistry could be far worse. But it also could stand to improve some. I'm not expecting an adult treasure chest. But I do expect quality service and a certain degree of friendliness. I like Dr. Castor, don't get me wrong. She is friendly and she's gentle, two traits a good dentist must have. And I like her hygenist. Both women have answered my myriad questions about the state of my teeth. But the receptionists aren't very pleasant. They treated me as if I was a chore. And the other staff in the office spent their time chatting with each other and gossiping while I sat waiting for the doctor. I also had a particular issue with a tooth that never quite got solved. Dr. Castor attempted to fix it on two occasions and, only upon my third visit for the same issue, offered up a possible explanation for the problem. Turns out I may need to head to an oral surgeon. It would've been nice to know that was a potential solution. Instead, I made the trek to Lincoln Park on several occasions--and paid an office visit fee each and every time--only to leave with the same problem. Like I said, LP Dentistry could be worse but they certainly aren't up to par. read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH AND TIME!!! After dealing with this place for 7 years I feel it is necessary for me to move on! I will say that my experience with the various dentists such as Dr. Lewis, then Dr. Castor and finally with Dr. Baruch have been highly satisfying-BUT THAT'S IT! I have heard many negative things about this place but I did not want to give a negative write up because the dental work was excellent. But I've had it! With that being said, my dissatisfaction is with the new dentist, Dr Nili. He was extremely rude and condescending and would not listen to any of my input! The office staff is rude and incompetent and not accommodating at all. They never get the billing and scheduling right. I canceled an appointment the day before and matter of fact Dr. Nili himself answered the phone. I told I had a very bad cold and my asthma was acting up and that I would not be able to make the appointment. He told me to call back tomorrow and reschedule. When I tried to get an appointment I was told by the office manager that I cannot have any early morning appointments because I've canceled too many times! The office manager was downright rude but I scheduled the appointment anyway. Well couple of weeks later I get this bill for missed appointment! Here is the scoop: Pros - Well informed dentist; very thorough job; friendly demeanor; spoke about several different options to help me make an informed decision. Cons - Yes I agree, the waiting area is a little dated (but who really cares), waited for about 10-15 mins for the dentists assistant to return after she had already seated me in my chair. This was the WORST dental experience I've ever had, EVER. First he told me that he wouldn't even touch my mouth until I got clearance from an MD (apparently any MD I could contact) that it wouldn't effect my prosthetic LEG.. WTF?! Apparently, my prosthetist (the guy who works on my legs) wasn't good enough to talk to. I haven't got my teeth cleaned in about 4 years so I did what I had to do and eventually he got the obvious ok from whoever he called. The whole process took about 30 minutes as he talked to me from behind the chair like he couldn't just walk to the front of the chair to talk to me like a real person. Then, the "teeth cleaning" was literally just few scrapes followed by flossing. But then I was asked if I wanted a "deep cleaning" for an extra $300! After denying the cleaning, they asked me to sign the paper anyway to say that they at least offered it to me. However the paper I was supposed to sign didn't say anything about that. So if I had agreed to sign, then they most likely would have robbed me for $300! LASTLY, after leaving for 5 minutes, I realized that I had forgot my book. When I went back, the elevator would not work. At this point it's 11:45. I called the place and their answering machine said they closed at 12. So why would no body answer?? I made my way into the fire exit and then for FIVE STRAIGHT MINUTES, I knocked and banged on the door for someone to open up. I finally got on my hands and knees and started telling through the crack of the door on the floor saying that I knew they were in there and that I forgot something. Finally, the horrible dentist (never got a name), came to the door with my book saying, "hey... I'm sorry, I thought you were a construction worker or something..." Even then, why wouldn't you just open the door??? I snatched my book from him and told him that he was a f***ing ***hole and that I would NEVER be back to his horrible practice every again. Out of what it looked like to be fear, he silently and slowly closed the door on me without any apology. I finally made it back to work 5 minutes late for my appointment with a client. I hope this place burbs to the ground. I still need to get my teeth cleaned. If the "employer" of this guy is reading this (he said that they were corporate). He's about 5'8" maybe 130lbs and possibly Indian. Can't give you a name because nobody ever gave me one. The incident too place on a Friday 3/9/18 all starting at about 10:00am. 10/2006 I've generally had a good experience here. They have always been able to fit me in for emergencies, and I have had extractions and filling, root canal and a crown done here, and was pleased for the most part. However, I have found another dentist that I like better, and actually costs less for me to go to without using my dental insurance than Lincoln Park Dentistry with my insurance! 06/2007 I'm not sure what Jill is talking about in her review. To each his own, I guess. I'm dentist phobic. Toss me down a flight of stairs, kick me in the shins, make me walk on hot coals, I'm fine. Bruised, but fine. But get near my mouth with one of those little pointy spears, and I'll break out in a cold sweat and start to cry. As a child, I was put through an amazing amount of dental work sans Novocaine. My parents dragged me to someone they referred to as a "painless" dentist. This man did everything from deep cleaning to cavity filling with no pain killer what-so-ever. To this day, I cannot fathom how I sat still for it, or didn't run away from home to avoid it. Fast forward to grown up and on my own, and it's no surprise that my dental visits have been quite rare. Seventeen years ago, I allowed myself to get talked into a visit to Northwestern Dental School (as it was all I could afford) and there, got talked in to an amazing amount of work by a sweet and enthusiastic dental student - some of it necessary, and some of it (as it turns out) not. Prior to that visit, I had not graced the door of a dentists chamber of horrors for thirteen years. A broken molar finally got me back into a dental chair. Of course, the broken molar happened almost three years ago. It didn't cause me any discomfort at the time, and hadn't bothered me since. And what hey, it had been 17 years since the last time I cozied up into a dental chair. So, since my husband had recently gone to the good Dr. Torres for work, I threw caution to the wind and manned up for my appointment. I found Dr. Torres and Jennifer, the dental assistant, to be absolutely wonderful. I let them know what a baby I am about dental work and why, and they've both been quite understanding and accommodating. So far I've had two sessions of deep cleaning and both times, while not what I'd choose to be doing with my afternoon, it was actually quite a pleasant experience, with Dr. Torres quite attentive to any pain issues, and both of them doing their best to make sure I'm comfy - and even making me laugh! I've seen a couple of reviews that have a problem with the "atmosphere" of the place and also with the front desk staff. While I'm not a fan of lavender as a wall color, as long as there's a comfy chair and clean, I'm good! I'd rather my dentist keep costs low and fore-go the upscale waiting room decor. And as for the front desk staff? Perfectly lovely, approachable and real. In fact, I had to have the woman who handles billing and insurance issues contact the upscale dentist to whom I was referred for some surgery to tell them how to deal with my insurance, as they were completely incapable. (And that review will follow shortly.) As far as I'm concerned, I'm going to stick with Dr. Torres and the able and funny Jennifer. I trust them and so far they've done fine work. And trust is the biggest hurdle I have to cross when it comes to finding a dentist who can manage to take care of this middle aged coward. read more

I think they try to get you in once, perform half-baked dentistry work, and then have you transfer to another dentist. Believe all the bad reviews about the service for this place!!! I needed a new dentist as my previous dentist no longer took my insurance. Figuring there were enough good reviews for this place, I would give them a try. I initially made an appointment for 5:00, then was told I needed to come in at 4:30 to fill out paperwork as a new patient. Ok, that makes sense. On my way, I get a call that I was late because I was supposed to arrive at 4:15. WHAT?? The woman I made the appointment with never said anything about 4:15, and they never called the day before to confirm the appointment. When I arrived I was told that because I was late, the dentist said I needed to reschedule. So frustrating!!! My appointment was for 5:00, I'm sure I didn't need 30-45 minutes to fill out paperwork. Clearly the dentist just wanted to leave early and didn't care about getting a new patient. Honestly, with so many dentists in Chicago, I don't know how this place is still open. read more

Let me start by saying I have very sensitive teeth and going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things in the world. I popped two advil prior to the appointment just incase the hygenist went crazy with the floss! I made my appointment at LPD without reading reviews first (I know, amateur mistake). My husband guided my to the yelp reviews the day before, noting how negative they were...yikes! I honestly went into my appointment with very low expectations. The office was alright, not too shabby. I read an ancient edition of Oprah magazine while waiting, I arrived plenty early per the reviews that they charge you if you are late, and I was taken back to the exam room 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Torres did a VERY thorough exam of my mouth, measuring my recession lines and the space between my gums. They took x-rays and Dr. Torres herself cleaned my teeth. At the end of the whole process she pointed out an area where I could do a better job flossing and showed me my first cavity of my whole life! (it was really there, I can feel it with my tongue). As the overall appointment was fine and Dr. Torres did a thorough job I scheduled another appointment to have my cavity filled. I wouldn't say I HIGHLY recommend this place, but they did provide the service I went in for. I can definitely see how it would be difficult to make an appointment, not to mention the dentist is only there Monday-Wednesday. read more

I debated between 4 (Yay! I'm a fan) and 5 (Woo hoo! As good as it gets!) stars and realize that I'm rating a dentist office, which, to me, is one step above hell. But if stars must be assigned, I give it 4. Dr. Castor gets 5, but the overall place gets 4. The support staff are a little short (curt?), but overall professional. It's hard to make an appointment, I like it when people actually answer the phone when you call instead of you having to leave your name and number to get a call back, but whatever, I was seen within a week of speaking to someone. Dr. Castor recommended a mouth guard for when I grind my teeth while I sleep, but instead of trying to get me to buy a custom-fit one right off the bat (which, after insurance, would cost me over $350 out of pocket), she told me that an over-the-counter one might suffice and I should try that first. I moved to Chicago and needed to find a new dentist, I saw this was conveniently located so I could go during my lunch break for a cleaning. The assistant was rude and very forceful when doing my x-rays. After the x-rays were done I expected a hygienist to come in and clean my teeth, instead the dentist came in told me that I would need to come back to get 4 cavities filled (I have never had 1 in my life) when I went home over Thanksgiving I got a second opinion from my previous dentist and was told I has NO cavities. After the dentist left the room the assistant came back in and flossed my teeth.....they considered this the cleaning/check-up. Over all not impressed at all, do not go to this dentist. read more

LPD is a very unprofessional environment with extremely rude front desk staff. During my first visit, I was the only one sitting in the waiting room and all I can hear is the Front Desk Staff cussing about their boyfriends/husbands. The exam rooms are not closed off to the hall way so you can only hear the same rude people talking the entire time you are waiting for the Hygienist/Dentist. I really like Dr. Castor, the Hygienist that I had was very rushed with cleaning my teeth and was not very personable. I am used to a hygienist that knows everything about me back where I grew up. From my first visit I finally understand why some people hate going to the dentist! I used to love it and now I dread having to schedule an appointment because I feel that I am inconveniencing the staff. I just called to schedule my next appointment (I was a little overdue) and I was told that there were no openings until May (1.5 months away) after being on hold for a minute or so. I told the lady that I may be switching insurance soon and could not schedule an appointment for that time. I was then told to hold on and then was asked if I was available this Friday. I am glad that they could work me in but she was quite rude about everything. My Two Cents, Go somewhere else, I will be soon! read more

I have to say, I was disappointed to walk in to this dental office because it's in a run-down, dingy building, and the office itself isn't any better. Needs a coat of paint and some freshening up, but on the other hand, I'd rather they invest their money into good equipment and have everything be sterile rather than all gussied up and then give me some sort of infection! That being said, the front desk staff was definitely (as other yelpers have indicated) lacking in the personality and warmth department. And it was also kind of weird to see signs ALL OVER the waiting room suggesting that payment be made up front, or insurance be verified before any services be rendered. Maybe they've had trouble with getting paid and that's why the place is so run down, but seriously, did there have to be 4 or 5 signs demanding payment? Couldn't they just discretely talk to each patient one on one about it? So when I finally got to see Dr. Castor, I was pleasantly surprised at her demeanor and liked the fact that she walked me through what she was going to do. Now I have to say, I have great teeth and gums so semi-annual checkups are no big deal to me and visits don't generally conjur up some horror-filled memories, so I'm happy with just getting my cleaning and being on my way. Dr. Castor did a great job (look ma, no cavities!), but then her assistant finished up with my flossing, which hurt so bad that I had to tell her to stop. I don't know if she just doesn't know that when flossing it needs to be a sawing motion in order to get in between tight teeth or she was just out for blood, but regardless, I yelled out in pain and then she decided to pull out the soft floss. Needless to say, I hope I never see her again! Overall, if you're looking for a good dentist, Dr. Castor is the one to see, but if you're looking for aesthetics in a dental office, go somewhere else. read more

Dr. Castor is great. She makes you comfortable, takes the time to talk things out and has a soft touch (important with a dentist!).....Don't listen to all these negative reviews... The actual place/building could use an upgrade, but honestly I'm more concerned with the quality of work being done in my mouth...which is great.... read more

I would not recommend going here. I went for a check-up and cleaning and they tried to sell me the intensive cleaning service for close to a $1000 and they would not do a regular cleaning because my teeth were so bad. I was skeptical because I have never been told my teeth were that bad before. So, I got a second opinion and that dentist said my teeth were not that bad and a regular cleaning was all I needed. The worst dental service I have ever experienced over my 60 years of life. I started going here when I moved to Chicago 1.5 years ago. This was my third general cleaning visit over that period. It is also the last. The first two cleanings were subpar but I let it go but this visit was something else. The cleaning was completely superficial. Long story long, I've been going to this office for about 10 years. When I first went in years ago, it was great. The doctors were friendly, staff was good, cleanings were thorough. I had one solid dentist for the first few years. She was so great, gentle, thorough, listened to concerns/questions, etc. Well, she moved out of state. Since then, this office has gone further and further downhill. It seems like every 6 months, there's a new dentist. Obviously they have a high turnover rate. I myself moved out of state for a year and then moved back....& hadn't been there in a while. When I went the last time, my cleaning was rushed and not as thorough. I thought maybe it was just an "off" day. They also billed me incorrectly, and had to send me a check. Oh well, Sh*t happens... no biggie. Fast forward to the 6 months later when I was due for my next visit. I was pregnant and literally about to go into labor with my first child, so I had to cancel my appt with somewhat short notice (probably cancelled around 9am and appt was in afternoon). I rescheduled a few weeks later. Well, life happens and sure enough, on the scheduled day, my newborn son was not feeling well. I don't remember if I cancelled with a short notice, or just cancelled 24 hours before, but this was yet another urgent matter. (Keep in mind, I have never in ten years, had any cancellations). Fast forward to 2018. Back in May sometime, I made an appt. They called me I believe the day before or 2 days before, to tell me the doctor couldn't make it to my appt. I would need to reschedule. So I told them I'll call back when I have my schedule *eyeroll*. So they cancelled on me, fine.... fast forward to August 2018... I made an appt, & I now live in the suburbs which makes it difficult to get to their office. I have a one and a two year old, work, school, etc. so life is pretty busy right now... but hey I need my teeth cleaned. Well, I had a meeting the same morning and it ran over time... I had a 1:00pm dentist appt. I called at about 12:10pm to ask if it would be ok to be there by 1:15, or else *if it wasn't a hassle*, I could come the next day. The office employees said I could cancel and reschedule for the following week, and they'd see if they could get the "business office" to waive my $30 cancellation fee for that day. I said well I can make it there, but I'll be 15 mins late. If it's better to reschedule, let's do it. So they rescheduled me. The DAY before my new appt, at 4:45, the receptionist calls me to tell me that "Dr. Jatoi asked me to remove you from the practice." I asked, because I cancelled twice for genuine emergencies? "3 times." Ok, I told them I could've gone in 15 mins late. I asked for my records, she said "We already mailed them last week, certified mail, to such and such address. I said it's an old address... "well, you haven't updated your address. I said you never asked! Plus I haven't been there. I told you what was going on, I was upfront." "Yeah, well..." lol I'm like why did you call me at 5pm the day before a 2pm appt? She's like "I didn't know, he asked us to do this last week." LOL. It's like this is high school and the dr. Purposely waiting to screw me over and cancel on me, the day before, "less than 24 hours before." I cancelled twice in 10-12 years I've been going there, due to genuine emergencies. I told them I could be there 10-15 min late last week, but they insisted it was fine. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING TO THIS OFFICE. The staff and old run-down 70's Office isn't worth it. I used to like going, as the dentist and staff were nice and it was convenient when I lived there... but to have an outdated office AND terrible service it's just not worth it. Do yourself a favor and find another dentist. I mean, all these one star reviews should speak for themselves!!!!!!!!! You've been warned. read more

If I were writing this review three years ago, when I started the practice and had Dr. Nili as my dentist, I would have given 5 stars. In the six months since my last appointment with Dr. Nili, he has left the practice. Although the dentist whom I had was most qualified, the office has changed. From my appointment earlier this month, Ann the manager could not confirm my insurance as she would only go through the internet and not call MetLife directly as requested. I finally went back today and called myself from the dental office so the insurance agent could give her the information. This was Ann's job, not mine. My interaction with Katrina was just as bad. Another hurricane who will tell you to 'axe' the insurance provider again. The hours and other support staff has also changed. Between the attitude and incompetence, I left the practice. read more
