In theory it's a good idea, but the view isn't that great, the drinks are way over priced and the space is really small. Plus, it's really not worth the wait in line. One thing I've always loved about Columbus was that its never tried to be something it's not. This place is an exception to that. It's trying way too hard to be a New York rooftop bar. read more

I only had drinks but every drink was crafted to perfection and you could tell that the service here made sure you were a priority to them all night long! This review is purely based on ambiance since I did not have anything to eat or drink there. I just happened to be in the area on a Tuesday night and decided to head up to see how this bar looked. It is a rooftop bar 9 floors high in the middle of the Short North. When you turn the corner out of the elevator you are immediately met by the flower wall with neon "Lincoln Social" lights. I absolutely love the feel of the place. You get a garden/forest type vibe. There is greenery all over the walls and hanging from the ceiling. There is a small section of seats around a fireplace and last night was perfect weather to sit by the fire. Not too hot or too cold. For a Tuesday there was still a good size crowd but I was able to sit by the fireplace. I did look at the cocktail menu and it has a good mix of drinks and some small bites. Prices were a little steep for cocktails but when I go back I will definitely try one....or two. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The decor is spot on and very well done. The place has good intentions. I think that's where it stops. First- SO CROWDED. I get that its new and the only real rooftop bar in Columbus (well, next to Novaks and Juniper, but Juniper has limited hours and Novaks is more of a patio). We got there right at 5 and there were no seats to be had. We were fine standing, but just be aware that its going to be mobbed at least through this first summer season. Second, and likely the reason I won't be returning - the cocktails were rather disappointing. My margarita was so-so....I feel like I could have gotten the same thing at a standard Mexican restaurant. My sister ordered a Mezcal Negroni - not an item on the cocktail menu, but certainly not an uncommon cocktail for any well-respecting cocktail bar. The waitress had NO clue what that was - that's fine, she's not the bartender - so she went to ask. She returned with a cocktail that was most certainly NOT a Mezcal Negroni. There was absolutely no Mezcal in there whatsoever - that's a pretty distinct, smoky flavor, and its absence is easy to catch. The cocktail tasted like sour mix - I'm not even sure there was Campari in it. The waitress insisted that it was, in fact, a Mezcal Negroni, because the bartender "Googled It" and used a recipe found on Google. When we questioned her, she got extremely annoyed and defensive, and frankly, rude. That sucked. I absolutely don't expect every bar and restaurant to know what this type of drink is. But, if you're marketing yourself as bar with "craft cocktails", you probably should know how to make a Negroni. read more

This place is amazing. It had the feel of the Gansevoort in NYC neat packing district. I almost forgot I was in Columbus, Ohio. The atmosphere is a ten out of ten. The food ten out of ten. The crowd is diverse. It a fun happening place. We were in a cabana which was perfect. It gave me the ability to enjoy the place without having to stand or have people bumping into me. So this is a bit late, but I came around their grand opening back in May...actually on May 5. It was a Sunday, and not crowded at all. Cam out finally diversified. I'm not the biggest fan of Cameron Mitchell restaurants. They lack diversity and are basically all American fare. He finally did something different that brought something traditionally seen in larger/more robust cities to the Midwest. Yes it is a roof top bar, but the significance reaches beyond that. These would be a dime a dozen in NYC, San Fran, Chicago, Dallas, etc. In Columbus though, this is it. When you first make the approach of the elevator, you see the shrubbery on the walls that adds to its appeal and decor. The crowd is limited to promote a feeling of exclusivity but also keeps the chill ambience. Are drinks on the pricier side? Yes....for Columbus. For any other major city these would still be a steal. The food would elegant for a bar but in perfect portions so that you don't feel stuffed. I tried a few drinks on the menu, and they were all made to perfection. The views were stunning of Columbus. If I were reviewing Lincoln Social in another city, I might give it less stars. But reviewing it in Columbus, it's worth the hype. Finally, Columbus starts to make strides towards not only being the 14/15th largest city, but actually having the feel of a large city. read more

Lincoln Social is an amazingly gorgeous hotspot, an experience like none other in the city. At the concept level, Lincoln Social is flawless. It is an experience top to bottom-- from the beautiful and now iconic flower wall as you walk in, to the sprawling bar in the center of it all, to the intimate and luscious booths, and of course the panoramic views of the city. The drinks are quirky, unique, and arrive in fun glassware with surprising touches like a lip print on the glass or oversized square ice cubes. It feels like no detail was ignored and for that-- I'd give Lincoln Social a 10/5 stars. Unfortunately, they seem to be going through some growing pains. Their wild success has thrown them for a loop and made some of their processes pretty painful on the "guest" side of the equation. They've recently done away with all reservations but are still honoring old... so basically, it's really difficult to get in and get a seat anywhere. We arrived at 6p to a line, which actually moved pretty quick so no complaints there... but 2 members of our party arrived a bit later and we had an IMPOSSIBLE time getting them in to join us. One friend ended up waiting in line an entire HOUR, never made it up, and we ended up leaving early because of it. I understand that there's a capacity-- but we're talking one person, who was meeting us for my bachelorette party-- and making table reservations wasn't an option for us, which kept being the reason we were told we couldn't bring her up (because we didn't have a formal reservation). It was pretty frustrating and definitely took away from the magic of the experience. Here's a final anecdote to top it off-- one of my friends lost her card, and felt pretty sure she had left it there. She had the worst time trying to get upstairs to get it and was treated as though she was lying in order to get into the bar. Luckily, she found it quickly once she was able to get in but when this is a challenge for bars to execute, you know you've got some work to do on the guest experience side! Overall-- the decor and detail in the bar is stunning and worth seeing firsthand. Just be prepared for a bit of a cluster and a hard time navigating the actual space/experience once you're there! read more

This place is some what disappointing. They are supposed to be open at 4:00pm. People are showing up but they are closed for a private event on a Thursday evening. There is no advanced notice as to when a private event will pop up so it's a hassle because you have to pay for parking downtown if you can find a spot, then make alternate plans. Working to be the Cbus option for a "behind the velvet ropes" experience. Have to make it through a lobby host and smart elevator ride to access the view. Which is great, but mostly faces east so not ideal for sunsets (Dublin's Vaso still best). The space is a mix of seating at a large bar, high tops, and lounge seats (incl/ some around a gas fireplace). We were there on a cool windy night, and felt the chill much more than at street level - but it is covered and the expansive windows close/open to fit the weather. As a group, we did a lot to sample the food and drink menu. The food options are well done but not extensive - tailored more to keep you satiated while you sip your drink, soak in the view, and work to be seen rather than to be a foodie destination. The hype for this place is real ever since it opened. It feels like everybody I came across over the summer- coworkers, classmates, hairdresser- all asked me at some point "have you been to Lincoln yet?!" My answer was always "the line is just too long". So I did what a introvert grandma like myself would do and went in on a Thursday at 4pm. To my surprise, it was already pretty busy- no line though, woohoo. The little patio area was totally full but I didn't mind sitting at the bar since you can still get a nice view. The receptionist/host at the lobby was super nice and she walked us to the elevator (very big city vibez) and when we got up there we were also greeted by the host. As some people have mentioned, the drinks are a bit pricey BUT in a place like this, you are definitely paying for the experience not just the menu. My first impression was that it was a lot smaller than it looks like on pictures so I can only imagine how crowded it would get on a weekend night. The drinks were alright, nothing to rave about...I even forgot to Snapchat it so that tells you how underwhelmed I was. Would I go back? Meh, maybe for brunch with my mom to sip on some mimosas and enjoy a nice view but not with a large group of friends which would require me going to the bar several times ($$$) and fighting for an empty corner to stand by. read more

Very cool new joint. I've gone twice and both times the cocktails were good. The staff is very nice and the seating is comfortable. What makes this place stand out above the rest are the views of Columbus it offers. We brought some out-of-towners here for a drink and they loved seeing the beautiful city of Columbus from that vantage point! This is a place strictly for Instagram worthy pictures. The greeting and hospitality was uncomfortable. We had reservations, and had to wait outside in the cold until the doors were unlocked, which was right at the time they open, which was also the exact time of our reservation. The entry was completely disorganized as we all filtered into the lobby. Once we entered the two greeters/hosts were still getting settled into their seats with their belongings, personal snacks and beverages which I personally find unprofessional as this should be done prior to guests arriving (in my opinion). They did not make eye contact or greet anyone. A group of us stood there uncomfortably. Then, once she started going through the parties the other greeter effortlessly directed us to the elevators, remaining in his outdoor coat and minimally speaking directions, just pointing. Eventually we made it up to the rooftop and again, very picturesque. Once seated, our waitress was nice and pleasant, and the food was okay. When we were leaving on our way out no one said anything. Just watched us walk out. The entire ambiance of this establishment feels entitled and unaccommodating to the customer. But again, if you're looking for an Instagram rooftop picture, this place will give you just that. read more

Great pictures does not mean the food taste good and I was sadly shown that yesterday. My Old Fashioned resembled a farmer's market lemonade juicer. Drinks weren't the cheapest but also that came as expected as it is on the upscale side also located in the short north. But drinks weren't that great definitely not worth the price given where it was at. Went to Lincoln Social for the first time this past weekend and it truly lives up to the hype! There is always a long line to get in, but we caught it at a perfect time and only had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes. You feel like royalty going up that elevator to get to the bar.
