Can't believe this is a hotel restaurant - it's so good, not just for a hotel restaurant, but in general! I was very excited to come try this place because of all the rave reviews, and I was not disappointed! I booked a table on Seated for 20% off, and on a Friday night there were plenty of tables. I also did the Yelp check in offer for a free thyme parker roll, which was SO yummy. My partner and I also ordered the hamachi crudo, sea bass with scallops, and diver scallop. Everything was divine. This restaurant is part of the Arlo Soho Hotel, so if you're staying there you absolutely have to try it and even if you're not I highly recommend this place as a must try. We didn't even order anything that would've been special but wow it was exceptional. Drink - I ordered the Spiced Pair Fix which was part of their Floral drink section but it was not very floral. I found it to be a little bit on the sweeter end but nothing crazy as patron and the spiced pair balanced it out. Appetizer - Our server recommended this to us and it's killing me I don't remember his name but I loved this and am grateful I took one of his recommendations. The Thyme Parker House Rolls sounds like those cheap rolls your mom would buy for thanksgiving when you were a child but this was nothing like that. These were fluffy and warm and came with four pieces that my friend and I couldn't get enough of. It comes with an acorn squash butter that has a bit of herbs and lemon zest. This is a MUST TRY item - I couldn't stop thinking about these for days after I had them. Main course: My friend and I decided to split both a salad and a pizza for dinner that night. Salad - We ordered the Garden Salad which comes with seasonal vegetables, pumpkin seeds, and a green goddess dressing. The seasonal vegetables that came with it were a little warm and roasted and I found it to really add to the dish. It also came with these pickled pepper slices, radish, and the lettuce was a mixture of baby lettuces. Really enjoyed this dish. It is a decent size where I think you could probably do it for a main course if you added a protein (or not) so I'm glad I had split it with my friend. Pizza - My friend and I decided on the White Clam Pizza that was delicious. This was definitely a great size for 2 and I could see it possibly feeding 4 as an appetizer option. It was a white pizza with clam strips, Italian herbs, olive oil, garlic, fresh oregano, ricotta, charred scallion, and a grilled lemon to top the pizza with. This was a classic New York thin-crust with a delectable flair that filled us but we did bring the leftovers back and finished them. If you are making a reservation for a large party (10+) and do not require a private room, this is certainly the best place to do it in the city! The team that set up our reservation was quick to respond and the restaurant had an extremely reasonable minimum of $50 per person (easily achievable). Immediately after connecting via phone, we were sent a booking via email. We were able to adjust the headcount by 1-2 people with no issues. This was the most hassle-free booking! There was also no cake-cutting fee and no pre-fixe menu required. We ordered a la carte by choice but they do offer several tiers of pre-fixe menus if you want it. The restaurant itself is spacious, with modern Scandinavian interior. Very simple and chic. Beautiful ambience and clean bathroom. The menu is not overwhelming and has American dining staples like steaks, burgers, fish etc. The food itself was quite good, especially the bread. I would say the steak was a bit too salty in my opinion. The fries were bomb. We also ordered pizza and fish dishes but nothing particularly to write home about. As for the service, we were not permitted to sit at the empty and available table until more than half the party arrived. There was a slightly tense moment when we did have over half the party and one of the ladies would not seat us until she got approval from someone else. We did have a small accident in service when a drink was knocked over onto someone in our dining party. The manager rectified with offering to pay for her cleaning fee and a drink. All in all, it was a lovely dinner. We enjoyed celebrating here! We went up to the rooftop bar for drinks afterwards. I would keep this place in mind for large parties in the future. read more

The Parker house rolls are a must-try and the butternut gnocchi were cooked perfectly. I say the service here was amazing because our table's waiter forgot to put in one of our orders, and by the time we realized it we were too full so we had to cancel it. Instead of just apologizing as what most restaurants do, the manager brought us drinks on the house and walked up to apologize for the mistake again. Wow, wow, wow! Lindens is an incredible spot that you have to check out. This is a top tier restaurant tucked in the lobby of the Arlo hotel, but a world unto itself. The atmosphere is both refined and lively, intimate and revelatory. Exceptional service, with great recommendations and a clear focus on attention to detail from both the front and back of house teams. We enjoyed the spring harvest tasting menu and were absolutely blown away. Every single item was nuanced, balanced, offering unique but classic flavors in every bite. To be clear, there were no misses, but some standouts: the thyme parkerhouse rolls (definitely not your grandmother's bread and butter), the grilled gem lettuce (who know lettuce could pack so much flavor?!), and the spring carrot ravioli (maybe the best pasta dish we've ever had... including an Italian honeymoon). Perfect date spot with great food and a good ambiance that's not too loud. We started with the parker house rolls to share - they were really soft and tasted super fresh. Do not sleep on the butter it comes with, simply to die for. Next we shared the half chicken and pomodoro pasta. The chicken was very well seasoned and was the better of the two dishes in my opinion. The pasta was good too but nothing extraordinary, I now wish we ordered the ravioli or gnocchi which looked much more interesting. Overall really great new spot at the Arlo with attentive service. I really enjoyed my dinner at Linden's! I randomly found this place on Instagram and knew I had to try it. Upon arriving, the place was extremely clean with an incredible atmosphere and the staff were very professional and friendly. We knew we needed to start with the Thyme Parker House Rolls because they looked to die for and they did not disappoint! We also tried an appetizer that consisted of peaches and burrata and it was quite delicious as well. For mains I ordered the honeynut squash ravioli with pancetta and sage brown butter sauce. It was unlike anything I've ever tasted, super rich flavors and it was quite delicious. My dad ordered the margerita pizza and really enjoyed it. My brother ordered the pasta pomodoro and it was simple but made perfectly. Their menu stays pretty much the same but changes seasonally with some dishes and appetizers. You can tell the ingredients are in season and fresh. I definitely recommend Linden's for any occasion, whether it be a casual date night or celebration, you won't be disappointed! read more

What a find! We went for brunch on Sunday morning, it wasn't crowded at all (yet). The service was excellent. The woman who had our table was so friendly and helpful. The chai latte with almond milk was delicious (like weirdly good, I had two). My friend and I (both gluten-free) split the polenta with mushrooms and the omelet with caramelized onions and goat cheese with a side of house made v, gf "sausage " and the berry salad. This should be a one star review, but I'm giving it 5. Let me explain... This WAS my go to place...At least a couple/few times a month, I'd venture in for great cocktails and food. Tonight, my experience was not good. Like really not good. Imagine having delicious food and leaving upset. The bartender, Diego...treated us as if we were bothering him. The entire time. No eye contact. No warmth. No service. No above and beyond. Literally, just threw food and drinks at us. The final straw was when we asked for some food that was taking way too long and he said, I am busy. Instead of saying sorry let me check on it. No, I'm busy. We asked for the manager who was super apologetic and offered to pay the bill. But we paid the bill. Because the meal, the product, wasn't the problem. The service was. And normally, we have zero issues with the service. So, bad night. Still giving it five stars. Why? Because the manager is representative of the typical service we receive there. Lindens is a hotel restaurant but you'd never know that if you entered from the street rather than through the Arlo Soho hotel. Management has clearly taken the time to design a beautiful dining space, curate a delicious and unique menu, and create an all around lovely dining experience. The great - the drink menu has a lovely variety of drink options for cocktails, beer, and wine. I had the lavender daisy which was gorgeous and quite tasty. Not my favorite cocktail (a bit on the sour side and not that floral) but still enjoyable. I switched to beer after that and was very happy with the selection. Our favorites from the food menu were the heirloom tomato salad, white clam pizza and ravioli. I would happily come back to eat any of the three again. The meh - upon arrival, myself and a colleague were told they were too full and could only seat us on the patio. The restaurant was half empty and it was already 7 so that felt a bit ingenuous. We decided to eat on the patio anyways but it was painfully hot and they don't have any fans to at least stimulate air movement. Our water was also refilled very infrequently which is a travesty in 95 degree heat. That said the patio space is beautiful and fun with lots of lights and cute little cabins for more private dining for a group. I'd be happy to eat there again in cooler temps. I also felt like our server was a bit too pushy. I was happy that he made suggestions as I always want to know what the staff likes best, but he seemed annoyed when we ordered anything that he hadn't specifically suggested. We ended up getting the stone fruit salad when we hadn't planned to because he was pretty persistent. It was good but definitely our least favorite thing we ordered. I wouldn't get it again. Prices are a bit high but it's Manhattan, what do you expect? All in it was a pleasant dinner and I would return if I were in Soho again. read more

I went there for the NYC Restaurant Week menu. I had the $45 dinner and wow I was so impressed. The portions were huge and every dish was so so delicious. Even the garlic bread was amazing! The $45 price included three courses. My first course was the heirloom tomato -- and may I say this is perhaps the best tomato dish I've ever had. The grilled flavor plus the vinaigrette is to die for. My second dish was the chicken dish and wow so well caramelized outside and so tender and juicy inside. The dessert was melon with mascarpone cheese. And wow, amazing! I'd never thought that a simple slice of cantaloupe plus mascarpone could be so tasty. I was so satisfied and so full!! Tax season coupled with a head ache I've been avoiding the past two months make a girl go insane. Due to our system having issues, I was able to log off work early and give my staff Easter weekend off. Can we just say manager of the year? Season? A girl friend chose this place to have drinks and dinner. When I got there, the beautiful Melissa greeted me in such a friendly manner and led me to our table. When I told her I need my drinks stronger because it's tax season, she gave us a round of drinks because she got how it be nowadays for us tax professionals. She was so attentive and made sure we were taken care of before she clocked out for the day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This review definitely got an extra star for her just being her :) We need more pleasant people in this world. Service was great! Now what everyone is curious about, the food! We had the following: - Thyme roll: we got this for free because we checked in via yelp. This was such a delicious bread with a herbed butter. I almost ate the entire thing myself, but I didn't because we needed to keep room for the delicious cocktail - Lavender cocktail: one of the best and prettiest cocktail I ever had. Only complaint is that it is not strong enough...However, Melissa brought me a shot of gin on the side because they couldn't add it directly to the cocktail because it would ruin its integrity. I get it, some mixologists take their craft seriously and we must respect that. - Stripe Sea Bass: oh my god, I almost cursed out because this was one of the best sea bass I had ever! The char taste from the grill and the creamy sauce. They ran out of scallops on the raw menu so the scallops here made up for it. I unapologetically ordered one to go to have either today or tomorrow for lunch. That is how good this thing was. I 100% suggest this. Actually insist everyone gets this and thank me later. - farmer's salad: this was an amalgamation of peas, fava beans, snap peas with a yogurt sauce and lots of herbs. I don't really like chewing on actual herbs so I picked them out, but the flavor. My lord... This reminds of me a bean salad moment that I had a Pecora Bianca that I really loved, but they discontinued. Now I can come here if I ever crave something like this. - Hamachi ceviche: we got this because they ran out of the scallops, but it was fantastic. It is more sashimi than a ceviche with a very creamy spicy sauce with jalapeno. My girl friend is all about spicy so this was really up her alley. - oyster sampler: there were six oysters done three ways. The first one I tried was a green chimichurri like moment and wow! Blew my socks off. The other two were okay, but not as good as the first one. It was a bit cute how each style of oyster came with a tiny oyster and a normal size oyster so trying to split this evenly with my girl friend took a moment of brainwork. - truffle fries: these were added at the end because my girl friend loves fries. I did not realize that was the case and told her we should get something else because we always get fries wherever we go. Then I realized it was very intentional that we always had fries. She just loves them. So we added it on later. Shoe string crispy fries with a scent of truffle oil and some curry powder. I am not a big curry person, but this was done in a such a way where there was just a kiss of curry. An unexpected light peck from that someone you were not expecting. It is served with a mayo like sauce instead of ketchup. Thank you! We really need to stop it with the ketchup!
