We are long time customers of Gem Plumbing in Sierra Madre, so I was very disappointed when I had difficulty in scheduling air conditioning service this morning and, in fact, was treated with something less than common curtesy. So, based largely on Yelp reviews, I called Lindsey's Heating and AC Service of Arcadia. Within 2 1/2 hours of my call, a Lindsey technician (Bill) arrived at our home. It took him about 45 minutes to expertly diagnose the problem, repair the unit, and extensively test it. He even went into the attic to make certain there were not any condensation issues. Bill was terrific! And the price was fair and reasonable. All of this represented superb service and unusual responsiveness. At first I was very impressed with how quickly they were willing to come out and give me an estimate on re-ducting the AC and servicing the unit. The owner Mike came out and spent 30-40 minutes with me discussing the problem and taking about how to take care of the issue. He even took a page of the house blueprints to make sure he had a good idea of the size. He told me that he would contact me in the next day or two with an estimate. 4 days go by and I had not heard anything, so I contact them to find out the status of the estimate. I get a lady on the phone who was like well if I don't have it don't expect it soon. I asked her to have the owner call me to let me know as I need to have this problem taken care of asap. After multiple calls to the office and leaving messages .. no return call. I just don't understand why someone could not call back and say sorry we are not interested. I got about 5 estimates and I chose Lindsey's because it was the cheapest. However, they don't include electric work which kind of sucks after spending $3,000 on a central air system. Connecting the system to the house would cost an extra $400 or something and I couldn't afford it at the time so I had my boyfriend do it. Overall though they are a really good service and Mark is super nice. He quickly returned my call and came to my house after 4 to give me an estimate which was really awesome. Just so you know, my house already had duct work in place and a nice heating system in the basement that they could work with so I think that helped with the price a lot. And my house is under 1,200 square feet. They are really nice over the phone and even called me when they were about to deposit the check to make sure it was okay to do so because I had mentioned to Mark that here might be a small problem since my account funds were in limbo at the time. He said it would be okay to post date the check to when the funds become available. Turns out the money was available afterall so i was able to tell them to go ahead with the deposit. It was a little embarrassing to have to tell him that, but he was totally cool about it. I was impressed by that. They did the job in one day and it was so worth the money! When my heater quit working on Wednesday I spent a miserable day and worse night in a 54 degree house. On Thursday morning I called Lindsey's Heating and Air Conditioning and left a message for their same day service. True to their advertising, they called me back within 2 hours of leaving my message and made an appointment with me for that morning. They sent an expert repairman, Nathan, who quickly found the problem and replaced the cracked hot surface igniter. He was on his way in less than half an hour and now I'm luxuriating in the warmth of my toasty warm home. I'm extremely thankful I won't be spending another freezing night in this house! read more

I had an excellent experience with this company. I spoke first to the owner, Mark Lindsey, on the phone, about my problem, because another company had come down, spent two hours at my home trying to figure out how the A/C system worked, and finally walked out after saying that they couldn't figure out how it works, yet alone, solve the problem; but they didn't charge me either, so they were honest. Mark told me that he felt confident that his techs could solve my problem, so he sent Nathan, lead tech, and Bill, an assistant, over to my place. Nathan was so methodical and knowledgeable about A/C systems. He very meticulously went step by step to label my electrical panel, and analyze what was working and what wasn't, part by part. Nathan quickly found the two problems, corrected them with new components, and I finally had my home cool again. Bill was a conscientious assistant, right there on the spot, helping Nathan accomplish the tasks. It was like watching a fine-tuned operation in motion. This is a group of professionals, in every sense of the word! The price was very much lower than I expected. We found this company in 2005 and they came and put our system in and completely renovated our old pipe system with new pipes and ac unit. They have been awesome for many years! 2.5 rating and that's only because the first two times I used this company, they were very professional and finished their job. (This was to turn on my a/c). However, the last time I needed a service to tag my gas lines and to turn on the heat for my business, the technician that came out appeared to be in a rush, and said that it luckily turned out to be an easy fix to get heat put in my office (was there for about 5 minutes) but said he had no time to tag our gas lines, and that he would be back to finish the job. Next thing you know I get a bill for $83 for a service call to get heat put in, and tag the lines. I call the owner to say that he never finished the job, he said he'd get back to me, never did, then I get another bill the next month, in which I call them again, we play phone tag and the problem never gets fixed. Finally I get another bill in the mail this past week stating if I don't pay up, they will be taking legal action? I was very upset at this point, since I had stated over and over again, over continuous msgs left with their staff and to the main owner Mark, that they never completed the job, and he responded that he would indeed get back to me, but never did. We finally get in touch through phone, and Mark seems to forget everything we had spoken about from the beginning and denied that he was ever supposed to fix that particular problem (although in the carbon copy of the receipt, in his handwriting it says, 'customer wants all gas pipes tagged and air tested per the city.") When I stated that I had the copy of the receipt stating he would do that, he then said he would do it, but that after that, he never wanted to do service for us again? I was like ok, but after thinking about it, it made me pretty upset that he made it seem like my fault, and i felt blamed which was odd, b/c i hadn't done anything but want what i had already paid for. The fact that Mark never owned up to their mistake AND to say that he never wanted to serve us again is unfounded, and not good service. As a business owner myself, I would always apologize first and foremost, and get the problem fixed asap. read more

I called Lindsey's at 7:40 on a Monday morning, and got an answer on the 2nd ring. I told them my a/c blower was blowing very slowly and they said they would send a tech out. They asked if 8:30AM would be ok (we just had two 90F+ degree days over the weekend. The tech determined all I needed was a recharge - and it had been at least 5 years since it was serviced. As he recharged it, the air from the unit outside got hot (meaning the air inside was getting cold.) For less than $300 I had everything working ice cold again. Called 9/11/2017 4:30 to request a service call and was greeted by Chrissy (I think that was her name) and was told she could have someone here tomorrow between 8am and 10am. My HVAC went out about two weeks ago. I have had two different air repair companies come. The first one replaced the capacitor but the air flow was still weak and not blowing cold. He came back only to try and charge more but could not tell me the problem. The second repair man stated my air/ unit was running fine I needed new ducts. Call manufacturer company, who referred my to this wonderful company. Steve was great! He informed my the wiring on the capacitor was done wrong , which he fixed and added freon and that my ducts were just gine. I'm back in business baby and it didn't cost me much. $256. I rarely review anything, but these guys are so great they deserve it. Our ac was working, but not very well and Nathan came over and cleaned the coils for us. Soon afterwards, it stopped working altogether with a bang and Nathan came on a Saturday to diagnose the problem and returned on Monday to replace the condenser fan. He didn't charge us for the Sat. visit, and the charges for the coil cleaning and fan replacement were very reasonable. Now our ac works much, much better than it ever has and we are ever so grateful. This is a wonderful local business that hires great people (Nathan) and gets the job done for reasonable rates. So I tried another BIG name A/C company from the internet to fix my home air conditioning unit, (Air-T**) and once I realized they were trying to commit rape of my wallet, I was referred to Lindsey's by a trusted friend. Christie in the office was great and fun to talk to, Mark the owner was very friendly and straightforward, and instilled my confidence so quickly that I knew I need not look any further for an A/C company for my current problem. He covered all of my choices and came up with numbers that absolutely convinced me we were dealing with folks that believe in fair pricing, good solid business practices and 5 star customer service! My experience with them: I was met by a Mr. Bill, he was an older gentleman, very clean, very nice, early for the appointment, and i could tell IMMEDIATELY he knew what he was doing which put me at ease. He had to climb up a 25ft wall to get to the unit. He saw the unit, we went inside to check ac panel; he explained what he was doing and what he was going to do. He talked to me like a human being and I could tell he wasn't a snake. I told him to go ahead and fix whatever it needed. I did not talk price nor did i care since he was so cool. He went outside and scaled that wall again. He came back down and showed me the parts he was changing. Then up THE WALL again, down the wall again, up again and back down. We went back inside, he explained everything to me and changed filters. My house is an icebox now. Consumers: this is an ethical business, my bill was very reasonable. Lindsey's came out Jan 06 to my home in Pasadena. I had some ducting that separated and the air/heat units needed to be serviced. The owner Mark visited and reviewed what work needed to be done. He was very knowlegeable on heating/air units and had come reccomended from Kenny at Count-On-Plumbing (another awesome tradesman in the area). The service tech was Nathan and did a fantastic job. He quickly diagnosed the problems, did a complete check was upfront on what was needed and what wasn't. The job was done quickly efficiently and no mess was left behind. It is so easy to see why these guys have nothing but great reviews. They are fantastic. They came and gave us an estimate for a whole new system, but then broke it down to what we "really needed to do right now" and even broke the estimate down further by giving us different options on what could be done. The pricing was competitive and reasonable and all spelled out. And then the actual work was perfect. The crew was efficient, on-time, respectful of our house and time, and did a great job cleaning up each night and at the end of the job. The quote was thorough, reasonably priced, and we talked through a couple of different options (and I didn't feel pressured to pay more than I wanted to, and I felt knowledgeable about what I was getting). After we signed the contract, Mark came back up to the house a second time for a walk through to confirm the scope of work. His team (Eric, Josh and Ben) were friendly, professional and unobtrusive.
