I have owned this 50-year-old house for 23 years. Originally in poor shape, we did a lot of work on it, including a new A/C system, installed by Mr. Bryant himself (may he rest in peace). Bryan of Aire Serve came by on Tuesday (at my request) to look over and test my A/C unit. Not that anything was malfunctioning, but we had not inspected it for over six years. I thought the duty cycle was a bit longer than usual, perhaps indicating a loss of refrigerant. Bryan is well trained, polite, and professional. As an engineer, I like to see the data, and it turned out all the parameters (pressures, temperatures, current draw, etc.) were within normal ranges. I suppose the hot weather recently, taxed my system some, resulting in the longer duty cycles. I have stored photos of all the data readouts which Aire Serve provided me subsequently. Aire Serve has been doing our HVAC maintenance for over 10 years, and I could not be more satisfied with their service and personnel. read more

Technician Andy Duong came out this morning to perform Heating & AC Inspection on my unit. Andy and his company deserves a 10/10 for service from beginning of encounter to the end. SERVICE: Andy left a strong positive impression - friendly, professional, approachable, respectable, helpful, informative, knowledgeable, competent, not pushy, and explained everything in a very easy to comprehend manner. He had shoe covers prepared and wore them inside the house, showed up right on schedule, is respectful at all times, left our house cleanly without leaving any trace, explained recommendations & areas of improvement with upfront pricing, offered insightful and useful options to improve our indoor air quality, showed us instrument readings and photos of what he tested/diagnosed, offered a suggestion of what to replace first in the order of importance, and explained technical things so simply that even a 90 year old grandma can easily understand. I really appreciate this about him. Excellent interpersonal relationship & communication skills. I'd say Andy should be the star employee of the YEAR for making his company look so good! I came across Aire Serv of Pasadena at their Taste of Arcadia event last month. From everyone I met that day, to the phone rep who scheduled my appointment, to the technician that came out today - in unison, they left a trustworthy and dependable impression. PRICING: $120 for inspection and cleaning, and additional $150 for out-of-area travel fee (they're based in Arcadia, kind of far to Hacienda Heights). Andy worked on my unit for two hours straight. Discounts available for recommended service/parts if it can be replaced/done during the same visit. Additional discounts available if you're a teacher, first responder, etc. They also have an attractive $20 per month membership option where they perform free annual service plus you receive discounts on parts replacements if needed. A nice peace of mind for an affordable price. OVERALL: Aire Serv of Pasadena left a very positive impression and they would be the first I'd think of calling up shall I need my Heater & A/C serviced, despite being just outside of their usual service zone. I would strongly recommend them to friends of mine who live in the west San Gabriel Valley area. Scheduled an appointment for today. No one showed up during the time period, so I called a couple times to see when the technician would arrive - first the AI assistant was no help in the matter and said I would get a call back - did not get a call back. Then the live representative said he "sent a message" to the team who handles ETAs and I'd get a call back - received no call back again. I called an hour later - now an hour after the scheduled window had ended - and spoke to someone who said that I had received a phone call last week to reschedule because they had double booked (I checked my phone records and voicemails - no record of them calling at all), and that they forgot to call me again this week to try and reschedule. Now I have to wait until the morning to get a call to reschedule and my urgent fix is now even more urgent. Terrible customer service and treatment all around. Do not recommend - you'll deal with robots and people who actually can't help you in the moment. read more

We highly recommend Aire Serv for your HVAC needs. We recently had our 2 HVAC units replaced in our home. The owner Vic was very helpful and really listened to what we wanted and needed. He spent as much time as we needed to make our decisions. They were very accommodating of our schedule, as we were doing additional work at the same time. We were highly impressed with every installer and technician. Andrew and Isaac were the installers and to our amazement nothing was damaged. We had both our units installed in our attic so it was not an easy job. Andy, Aric, Bryan, Chris and Isaac, the technicians, were all very knowledgeable, helpful, hard working, pleasant, and willing to do whatever we asked during the set up. I called Aire Serv of Pasadena - and Adriana come to our home and looked at our system - and her authenticity came through immediately. She didn't try to sell us a bunch of things we potentially didn't need. Instead she was very open to providing information and working with us on a solution which would make our life easier. What we did: We worked with their team re-do our ductwork, ensure there was no exposed fiberglass insulation in our plenums, install a polarized air filter and a UV light. Aire Serv has been our go-to HVAC company for many years now and they have always provided excellent service, quality work, extremely fair prices and the staff are as friendly as can be! We've had two visits from them over the past week for maintenance and estimates and couldn't be happier - all the sentiments from my previous reviews still ring true. Each year we purchase their "advantage plan" which is their signature maintenance package- it's an excellent value and includes an AC check up for the summer months and then another check up on the heater for the winter. And if any repairs need to be done there are discounts involved etc. This year our technicians were Chris and Brian and they were so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We also scheduled a free estimate for an entire overhaul of our AC system to start planning for some renovations. Adriana came out and she's just fantastic as well - extremely knowledgeable and thorough and we were very pleased with the experience. Their prices are very fair for the level of quality and I never experience "sticker shock" when working with them. We also had several phone calls during the scheduling process with Tina who is just as sweet as she can be - I can't say enough about how excellent all their staff truly are - they really care about their customers! The only issue we've ever had was this year trying to get our initial appointment scheduled. They have an answering service after hours and they are really difficult to deal with - and we got rescheduled four times. But once we finally got in touch with Tina - she took care of all these issues and we had our visit. Aire Serv replaced our old and damaged air ducts and made some HVAC improvements in our new-to-us home. Isaac and Andrew installed our ducting and did a great job caring for our old, creaky home with thinly plastered ceilings. Technician Andy Duong came to our home to access our HVAC and heating system because we live in the Eaton Fire burn footprint and concerned with ash and soot contamination. I wanted to reach out to let you know how impressed both my wife and I were Andy. He was extremely professional, patient, thorough, and courteous. I have had other HVAC companies come to our home to service our equipment. It is unfortunate how the majority tend to attempt to sell you on additional services, warranties, and replacements that are expensive and usually not warranted. A few years ago I had one company who told me that my system (installed brand new within the last 5-6 years of the appointment) was on its last leg and should be replaced. Of course they would offer me a "deal" if I would sign a contract immediately. I consulted another company who told me my system was fine. With Andy, this was not the case. He inspected our system and recommended what should be done to ensure our unit was working properly, and would continue to work efficiently. It was later in the afternoon and servicing our unit would go well into the evening. He completed the job, did not rush, and left us feeling confident he did an outstanding job. My wife was so impressed that she purchased the extended service plan from AireServ (**with the condition that Andy be the tech that would perform the service**). Because of Andy, AireServ has won our loyalty and become our goto company for our heating and air conditioning needs... I had to contact the office and corresponded with Vanessa. Andy and Chris completed the cleaning of the HVAC ventilation at our home high in the Altadena burn area. The thermostat and hence the system however wouldn't turn on. I was told on the previous day by a Service Champion tech that we would need to replace a terminal board in the furnace inside the house at an estimated cost of over $1200. Andy and Chris troubleshooted the problem and found a burned out fuse on the board, then traced the failure to burned insulation on thermostat lead wires connected to the outside condenser unit that had been exposed to the heat from the fire. The melted insulation allowed the wires to short. After they replaced the wires and fuse the system started functioning again. The repair charge was only a fraction of the estimated cost of the terminal board and also allowed us to proceed with our home repairs without weeks more delay to order parts. We just want to thank Andy and Chris for their effort which has hopefully helped us move forward more quickly with our recovery efforts. read more

We need to install ducting for our new vent hood. Reached out to Aire Serv based on their description that they do custom ducting. The person answered the phone was courteous and friendly. When she didn't know something, she got an answer and called me back. However, we did not schedule the service because they wanted $99 for visit fee. If we go through the service, the $99 will be part of the job. We totally understand the charge but just didn't want to proceed. So this review is solely based on the customer service of the person who picked up the phone. read more

We had a bad experience, don't want to trash the company as it was resolved and the owner worked tirelessly to make sure all was made right. A couple of things though for feedback one year out: 1. don't ask the owners to sign away their rights if anything goes wrong later. Just obnoxious 2. check in and make sure all still fine after a major issue 3. When you call them and they come out and can't fix something a few months later maybe don't charge them given the fact that they spent 3 months in your home fixing the problem they caused. read more

In late August/early September, I called Aire Serv because our AC badly needed a yearly check. My folks at home do not use the AC and the last time it was used was three years ago. No wonder why it's not working! Now, the reps from Aire Serv called me for my 8-10am appointment and I was still sleeping so I didn't answer. They called my Mom's number but she wouldn't answer bc she doesn't know that she has an appointment! (I forgot to tell her it's the AC repair lol). Anyway, Michael, the technician, still came and knocked on our door. He went inside with his pink booties and had a diagnostic test on our AC unit. Since our house was built in 2004, the AC unit has been here for 16 years. He climbed up the ceiling, did his thing, and came back with the diagnostic test. We needed a new filter and needed to clean the AC unit. He did everything impeccably and explained to me what was done. He also scheduled a follow up 6-month check for the AC. Thank you so much Michael! You helped me and my family when we needed the most! Had the guys clean out my ducks and 2 Furnace AC plus 2 dryer vents. Very quick & through with the many AC ducts and furnace filter change outs . It wasn't cheap but at least it needed to be done and choose two professional to do the job. read more

Techs normally do not charge for quotes. I reached out to other companies and each one told me that getting a quote would be free. Seemed like a scam. Unfortunate this happened as their Yelp page has so many shining reviews. read more

I am only writing this as a I do not wish for this to happen to anyone else. If you have a short project on hand, they may be helpful, but please know what you are getting in to. Hope this helps. I hired Aire Serv of Pasadena back in December 2020 where they came and fixed a leak in my outdoor HVAC unit and refilled the refrigerant. Fast forward to July 21, 2022. Having what I thought was a good experience from the first encounter, I had them come over to service my unit during the extreme heat wave as no cold air was blowing into my unit. The technician that came just told me that my refrigerant was low and that he would refill it again to fix the issue. This was his diagnosis and I was going to be charged $99 for the initial diagnostic fee I suspected that there was something else going on. How could the refrigerant empty out in the span of less a year and a half if the leak had been "fixed?" When I mentioned this, he said that he would need to use an electronic leak detector to identify if a leak was present. This would be extra $405 "diagnostic fee", but they would waive the $99 initial diagnostic fee. Sure enough there is a different problem, not just the refrigerant leak. At that time I wanted to get the issue resolved right away because it was already blazing hot and I had no A/C going. July 26, 2022: I am quoted a little above $7000 to replace my HVAC unit as the area that was affected was not able to be fixed and required a specialized unit. August 5, 2022: I put down half for my initial payment to get the process started and start to receive emails for random appointment times and dates that I did not set up. So every time this happens I have to call and sort it out. August 15, 2022: I have to call and ask how long it will take for my unit to arrive. I am told 4-8 weeks as it is a special order. August 31, 2022: After multiple communications initiated by me a rough arrival date of September 30, 2022 is confirmed. October 4, 2022: The wrong unit shows up further delaying the project. October 26, 2022: I receive notice that the new unit is being shipped out and that the part (coil) was received on October 27, 2022. We set up the date to finally fix what was started on July 21. November 9, 2022: The technicians arrive and when they unbox the unit to get it installed. The wrong part arrived AGAIN and am told that they cannot proceed with the installation. I reach out multiple times and do not hear back until... November 11, 2022: I hear back and am told it will be another waiting game between the manufacturer. It is no longer hot, but it is now getting cold. November 28, 2022: I finally receive a email stating it would take another 6-8 weeks from this point. December 3, 2022: I reach out in good faith asking if there is any way to help remedy the situation. December 5, 2022: I receive an email apologizing for all of the miscommunications. It is also communicated to me that the company is losing money on this in a way where I am supposed to empathize with them. This is also not the first time I have been told they are losing money on this project. December 29, 2022: I have to be the one to follow up to see if there are any updates. I get an email saying that they will check tomorrow. January 3, 2023: I contact again about updates as I have not heard anything. February 2, 2023: We are now on track to receive the unit on February 27, 2023. February 24, 2023: The correct parts have finally arrived and we are ready to install. March 16, 2023. The installation is complete 2/3 of a year later. I ask them for photo documentation for proof of the work done and receive that along with the work order. My mistake for trusting the photos and work order. July 24, 2023. I had an inspector come out to check out the property to make sure everything was in good working order on the property for a pending sale. Surprise, there is a random pipe just hanging out by the HVAC unit. They did not mention this to me at all or provide photo documentation from March 16, 2023. When contacted by my realtor they told her that they did not have time this week to come out, until she pointed out that it was a liability. Amazingly they had availability to come out within the week after that was said. They came to check it out and explained it was a drain pipe and that a plumber could come out and cap it or remove it. This could have been easily avoided by letting me know that this was up there after the work was complete. read more

Aire Serv on its website offers an "anytime service" guarantee and is available 24/7. Temperature today in El Monte is 108 and my HVAC isn't working. I called for same day service. Advantage Plan members are supposed to get priority service and scheduling. Today is Friday and was informed the earliest appointment is next Tuesday. I've been placed on the urgency list in case of a cancellation. That's just really great preferred service. I'm getting ready to cancel Aire Serv of Pasadena permanently. So dissatisfied and miserable in this hot house. read more

This is an update for my previous review from last Dec. Aire Serv did replace our defective heating/air conditioning unit on Dec. 13, 2022, after Vic, the owner, and his employees determined that our 11-month-old Amana unit was "a lemon." Since it was still under warranty, they would replace it at no cost to us. However, once the unit was installed, Vic explained that he would be willing to "split the cost" with us for the crane and labor involved in the installation. That cost was about $1100.00 for our half. Fortunately, we still had our original invoice for the unit and it clearly stated in 3 separate paragraphs that, if for any reason, during the 1 year warranty period the unit should fail, Aire Serv would cover ALL costs. It did not say anything about us having to pay for a crane and the labor to install a new one. After sending Vic an email back in December where I quoted exactly what the invoice stated and that we should not be liable in any way for any costs, he responded today that we were right and that Aire Serv will not be billing us. He had thought that we were out of the warranty period and apologized for his mistake, which we greatly appreciated. We also appreciate that the new unit works perfectly so far. We also purchased a service policy with Aire Serve back in May of 2021. It has more than paid off because they come every 3 months to inspect the unit, change filters, and repair anything that is needed for $210.00 for a year. We look forward to continuing to call on Aire Serv for our future heating/air conditioning needs and hope that we have no need to replace our new unit for at least 15 years. read more

My clothes dryer stopped working, so I ended up calling for appliance repair. The repair technician explained to me that the vent line was clogged and needed cleaning, and Yelp brought me to Aire Serv. I was briefly on hold, and got an appointment right away. It took more than one visit to get the job done, but I knew that Aire Serv would stand by their work. When my dryer was still broken, the appliance repair company insisted that I send them proof that I'd gotten the vent line cleaned! If I'd gone with a less professional outfit, I may have been out of luck, but Aire Serv gave me thorough documentation with all the technician's notes. Because Aire Serv stood by their word and did their job, I was able to make sure the appliance repair company did theirs.
