Issue: Broken shower knob shower have not been use for years. I have 2 other plumbers looked at the issue both said they have to open up the wall. Ah What??!? This just doesn't make sense!! So everytime we have shower issues we break the wall to fix??? Well since Lindstrom is in the house to unclog the sink they might as well looked at the shower. Miguel came out to clear a shower drain and fix a bad leaky faucet for my mom and dad who are elderly. He couldn't fix the leaky faucet so we don't know if the shower drain is any better. He didn't ask for the trash bin so we're unsure if he pulled anything out of the drain at all. The leaky faucet is an old model and he didn't offer any suggestions on how it could be fixed. He said find the paperwork and maybe we can order parts. For his trouble he said the bill was $200. Seems egregious for the 15 minutes he was here. He had two appointments in the building so I'm guessing he charged each appointment a trip fee. All in all not very helpful. The second plumber we called out from a higher rated San Mateo company offered a free estimate and no trip charge. read more

Water heater replacement. We had a bad leak on our very old water heater. Karen was great and got Miguel out within an hour or so. He drained the tank and turned everything off. He ordered a new water heater after different options and it was installed the next day. Highly recommended. read more

Billing is shady. Quality of work good. Be warned! Miguel may try to scam you with pricing. Something I had seen in other reviews. Called for a quote. Miguel came out and quoted me $4k for a bunch of work needed in a new home. But told me that was based a trip charge + estimated time + materials. I said great send me a quote. After not hearing back I texted him how I understood the pricing, time and materials and he said yes, that's correct. Quality of work was good not great and asked for payment of the $4k. Since I was in a new house, midweek work from home, etc. I paid and said please send over a detailed invoice of work complete. The detailed receipt never came and as I calculated the charge should have been closer to $2k, maybe $2.5k max. So called the office explained the situation, who then just pushed me back to Miguel. Who said no this was a project job. Not time and materials. I said that wasn't clear, and to be fair send me a detailed invoice. Long story short. After 4 tries and deflecting by Miguel, no call backs, no one that can resolve the issue, I'm giving up and moving on. Be warned. read more

I have utilized Lindstrom Company Plumbing a few times and I have also tried other companies in the area. I can say without a doubt that Lindstrom isn't one of the best in the area. They're inconsistent on numerous occasions, wasn't able to fix the problem spot on and more than likely you would have to call them to come back after a few days. I have had this happen to me several times whereby they weren't able to properly fix the problem. It was quite disappointing but that's what you get on a cheap price. This review is long overdue. I've used Lindstrom over the last 4-5 years. Up until last year, the only need I had was snaking my exterior sewer line due to invasive tree roots. Their plumbers were always on time and very professional. This alone is reason enough to use Lindstrom. Also, their pricing was VERY fair. Example, they charge $128 (from what I recall) for an hour as a flat rate. Normally, they cleared the blockage with the snake in 30 minutes. Then, they used a camera to inspect the line for offsets and cracks since I still had 30 minutes left on the 1 hour flat rate. They did this each time and it always resulted in the 1 hour rate of $128. They never charged a fee for the snake then another fee for the camera. Based on my calls in the past, other plumbers charge for the snake fee then for the camera fee. I suspect it would still take an hour, but the fee would be in the $300 range. Again, another reason to use Lindstrom. Quick comment about feedback another reviewer left. They said Lindstrom charges a drive time fee for the Peninsula. That's odd since they never charged me drive time. The 1 hour clock always started once they got here, never when they left the office or their previous job. Late last year, I had to replace my upper and lower laterals due to major issues and motivated by a reimbursement program by my city. The city provided a list of plumbers who already provided a price list for the related services/fees, had appropriate licenses, and required insurance. Lindstrom was on there. I got an estimate from them as well as two other plumbers and both are on Yelp. One had better Yelp reviews than Lindstrom and one was equal if not a bit lower on review scores. I decided to go with Lindstrom for the following reasons: 1. Todd Lindstrom was amazingly professional and knowledgeable during the inspection and quote process. One other was equally as good. The other was clueless. 2. Lindstrom had the best warranty of the three by a healthy margin. 3. Price was the best of the three. 4. Past experience with them since I never had a problem and was always happy with their work. So how did the lateral replacement process go? Totally smooth. Todd was stellar. He sent me daily email updates on progress and next steps since I was at work all day. I was NEVER in the dark during the process. When needed, Todd called as opposed to using email. He also gave me his cell number so I could reach him directly and he was awesome at returning a message if he couldn't take my call. There isn't a single thing that would make me consider using anyone else after the lateral experience. Lindstrom has never let me down and I'd be surprised if you used them and didn't feel the same way. That's why I suggest them to everyone I know. They pulled in my street block this morning to do a job. 3 heavy duty trucks and 4 men had arrived. this street block has only 7 residential houses and on one side of street has fairly lengthy parking area. There are lots of parking spaces 1/2 block away. But, Lindstrom's trucks had to park in front of residential houses on the block. When I made the inquiry to their office about alternate parking choices, the person said that they will park wherever they can on the public parking. A Company that does not consider the inconveniences they brought to the neighborhood (it could have been avoided if they can just park on the other side or 1/2 block away) is a Company I will recommend to others not to hire. There are so many other plumbing Companies that can do the equal of better job than Lindstroms. read more

This is really a two part review that, unfortunately for the company, averages to 3 stars. The person answering the phone is quite rude and seems incredibly disinterested in providing even a modicum of good customer service - so 1 star for their public/business interface on the phone. I get the fact that most folks calling are distressed and confused as to what they need - but that is why there is a great need to have a confident voice on their end. Despite my initial contact with the company I scheduled an appointment based on my neighbors experience with the actual service provided. Miguel, however, is worthy of 5 stars - very knowledgable, professional and did a fantastic job - He was pleasant and provided me the confidence I needed that he would do the job right. We just had Lindstrom replace our entire sewer main line and they did an amazing job. They were incredibly professional through the entire process. They Showed up exactly when they said they would and they had a quote to us within a few hours. They seem highly skilled and super knowledgeable. Our project needed permits and inspections from the city and they handled everything for us. They had four or five different people work on our house over two days and every single one of them worked very hard, and seemed very highly skilled at what they were doing. The Miguel referenced in other reviews 1) first tried to have me pay $35 -cash- for an estimate when I was not willing to do work on the spot (he panned it off as a miscommunication with the scheduler) and on a second visit 2) asked for cash under the table (telling the office it was a "no charge" visit) when he came to install a toilet that I did not realize had arrived broken. Multiple calls to the owner and manager to alert them to the issue of their employee demanding under the table payments were not returned. I strongly advise against using this business or having Miguel in particular in your home. read more

Was very comfortable with his approach and knowledge. His tech was right on time and surveyed the job. Received the quote an hour later and they started work ASAP. I have two tales of business with Lindstrom, unfortunately both are bad. Years ago we called this company to clear out our lines due to poor drainage. Thinking that they were the old "Lindstrom" who we had used often and were happy with their business, I just asked them to take care of the problem. They did come out, did find the problem, and did clear it out, sort of. Unfortunately some months later the drainage issue happened again and we had another plumber out who found an old wrench in the section that had been repaired by Lindstrom. Okay, I should have learned my lesson. Four or five months ago, at a new house in Woodside, we called them again to help clear out a drain. They sent two people, found that the problem was due to some tree roots, and cleared out the roots using a standard rooter. No problem, everything worked fine. But then these two men used the camera to see if other problems existed between the repaired pipe and the sewer in the street. Again, no problem as I liked their proactive nature. But instead of running the camera down to the street they took a wrong turn into an old septic tank that hadn't been used in 50 years. They convinced by wife that they had found another problem and asked her to fix that pipe. Not knowing any better she said yes and they dug up our flagstone pavement and part of our lawn and told my wife that it would cost another thousand dollars. Remember that they were going to repair an unused septic tank. Their supervisor, Todd, came out and verified their findings. At this point I told them to stop, tried getting ahold of Todd in person and couldn't do so. I then called another plumber who came out and immediately figured out that the repair wasn't needed. Then I had to hire someone to fix the flagstone pavement that Lindstrom destroyed. Net net of this was a bill for $1,800 that I got from them, told them that under no circumstances was I going to pay it as it cost me $500 to get to the real problem and fix the flagstone. I thought that the issue was finished and I simply chalked this up to making a mistake in calling them, until yesterday when I got another request for the $1,800. Not only will I not call them again, I hope that they go after me for the money so that I can meet them in small claims court. Avoid at all costs. read more

The plumber who came and put a temporary fix in our leaky/not working bathroom was fine. However, I am giving the two stars because of the experience with the office manager/receptionist. My husband and I have made multiple calls to try and schedule. We have been told repeated that they will call back. Of the 3-4 times we tried, they only called back once. For my husband, they said that the plumber would show up at a certain day/time and it was a no-show. Seriously, the front office didn't even apologize when I said I never got a call back or when my husband said the plumber didn't show. read more

My water main entry point to the house was leaking badly - the main extending up through a concrete patio to a 65-year-old jumble of a shutoff valve, unions, pressure regulator, faucet - with a more recent connection to the irrigation system - all with barely a couple of inches clearance to the stucco exterior wall. I was worried it would require excavating part of the patio and opening the wall, but Lindstrom was able to replace all the old and leaky parts "in place" - and did it for about 40% less than I was quoted by a large regional plumbing company. read more

I would recommend Lindstrom plumbing firstly for their friendly helpful office manager Joanna. I called her back three times on a Friday questioning the service being done on Monday, she was exceptionally nice explaining each time to me. Secondly, the plumber Miguel Saavedva came at the beginning time at 8a happy and energetic nicely putting on shoe coverings and also equipment wheel ones to not dirty my white carpet. He hooked up the snake under my kitchen sink quickly. I asked him about his physical training, being a body builder, seeing how fit he was. He suggested replacing my P Trap and explained in detail the reasoning. When a company has great customer service like this, it makes all the difference trumping the rest. They were the best in price, and I got to help a local business. Four days later, on Friday, I called Joanna in the late afternoon to speak with Miguel about an urgent matter. He was on vacation. She called me back telling me she'd have another Miguel come before 6p, being he was on a job. Sure enough, Miguel rang my doorbell way before 6p friendly and smiling questioning my problem, knowing he probably was off work soon. He was my hero in retrieving something my late Mom gave me. Upon running the faucet, he said that it was loose and proceeded to figure out how to tighten it for me. Thank you Joanna, Miguel S., and Miguel for your exceptional service. Lindstrom has done two jobs for me (and my neighbors) in the recent past. The first was a huge drainage issue between numerous houses. I was not in charge of that project, but all of us neighbors were very happy with their completion of the project. They were even working in the rain to complete it before additional storms came. They did complete it, and timely!!! Recently I thought it appropriate to call them to resolve a drainage issue between my neighbor's house and mine, that also needed the city's approval and cooperation. It was the right call to make!!!! Initially, I thought they were slow in getting me an estimate. However, I soon realized that they were methodical in their approach, and wanted to get it right. In talking with Todd, I became aware that he had a complete awareness of the project, and was just trying to resolve a few of the more intricate details before proceeding with the project. He had been in touch with the City, and was working out final details before telling us exactly what was needed, and the cost. My neighbor and I went with them, and I can say that the project was a huge success!!! Yes, it is always more than a homeowner wants to pay, but their cost to do the complete job turned out to be quite reasonable as there were many issues that had to be dealt with that we (as homeowners) did not know at the time. Lindstrom & Co. has had a working relationship with our city that goes back several decades. And that was helpful in getting the project approved and completed. I will call them with any plumbing issues I have in the future. First, these clowns have the nerve to charge drive time to mid-peninsula cities....Ridiculous! Who gets paid for driving to work? Lindstrom gets paid to drive to your home! Next, this is NOT the same Lindstrom Company that we all knew and liked over 20 years ago. The folks running it now seem like distant relatives that simply answer the phone, schedule and handle the accounting. I don't think any of them know anything about plumbing. About a year ago we had a toilet that was backing up with water spewing on to our second story floor. Each time they would clear the stop up which was occuring a very short distance within the toilet. Within a couple weeks, I would have to call them again, again and again over a 3 month period. Each time I tried to ask them if I had a bad toilet, each time they would say, "Oh you have a great toilet" - "No need to replace" They would never give me a clear reason for the blockage or why the toilet would flood all over the tile. Finally, I insisted that the toilet be replaced and I've had no troubles. I wish they would have done it on the first visit, but I spent hundreds in each of their other visits! I would question the plumbers that come your home are licensed. Seems like english is a second language. read more
