Stan is incredible. He came to our house to fix what I hoped was a simple clog. It turned out not to be so simple. After essentially pressure washing the interior of our pipes, he then went out of his way to show us what was going on inside our pipes with a camera. He worked incredibly hard, cleaned up amazingly well, and went above and beyond in terms of communicating the source of our issues. We had two toilets which were leaking intermittently and quietly so we didn't realize it until we saw that our water bill doubled in one month. We used Yelp to get two estimates. One plumber wanted to replace one of the toilets entirely. The other provided ways to save both toilets. Their estimates ranged from $500-$650. We then called Stan. He was prompt with communication. He made an appointment for a specific time (rather than a range). He checked both toilets carefully and discussed the situation with my husband who approved the replacement of two flaps, one valve, and one water supply hose. Stan was great. He promptly responded to a service request through Yelp for a broken shower valve, at my mother's house, on a late Sunday afternoon! This shower valve would not shut off and water continued to flow down the drain. Stan's service calls are $120 and he was at my mother's house within the hour. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a worn out rubber gasket and shut the hot&cold water off at the shutoff valves. He successfully tracked down the proper parts, the follow morning and returned to fix the valve. Our water heater went bye-bye on a Saturday morning, gas was seeping out, and pge had to cap off the gas line for safety reasons-- our water heater was collecting lots of dryer lint and dust in the burn chamber. We didn't know where to start but I started looking through my bookmarked businesses. Stan answered my call and even though he couldn't service it that day because of another project, he stopped by to give me a quote. It was 2/3 the quote that my neighbor got (her quote was from 5 years ago!) by one of those fancy, exorbitant plumbing companies to replace her water heater. Stan could sense my dread of not having water until Monday and offered to do the repair the next day (on a Sunday, his day off!) He purchased the water heater and brought it over. A little over 2 hours later, he installed a new water heater, loaded the old heater on his truck to be disposed, AND installed a water leak shutoff mechanism that we had purchased years ago but the previous plumbers that were dispatched from local plumbing businesses did not have any knowledge about them. I also had him give quotes on other projects in the honey-do list and he gave great quotes so I'm looking forward to checking those tasks off.
