Seafood sub (on their specials menu- $16)
    Robin U.

Went there on a Friday evening with no resy. There were about 10 families ahead so we waited approx 40 min to be seated but we really didn't mind because I had heard good things. Once seated, everything was amazing, food service, I had no complaints. The portions were so good for the price. I had a seafood sub that came with fries for $16. And I ordered 6 on the half oysters for $14. It was delicious! The staff are super friendly too. I will be making my way there again soon.

    Alfredo with chicken and mushroom

I've been coming to Lindy's for years now as it's one of my Grandma's favorite restaurants. I'm honestly surprised it's taken me this long to give them a review! I definitely recommend coming in early as peak times there can be a long wait. But, I was happy that we didn't have a wait tonight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is large and open but because of that can be hard to hear, especially if there are tables sitting next to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I appreciate that they always have a specials menu as they have some imaginative dishes on there. Our waitress was friendly. She was pleasant but not overwhelming and made sure that we had everything we needed. If you haven't been here before I would recommend their seafood. It's all high quality and reasonably priced. Tonight though, I had the Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. I will say their Alfredo is superb. It's buttery, rich, creamy, savory, and everything else you'd want an Alfredo to be. The chicken was thinly breaded and perfectly tender and the mushrooms were copious. I definitely had more than enough food for two meals. My grandma had a burger and liked her meal as well- I'm always a big fan of the pickle. If you haven't been to Lindy's yet, definitely try them out. It's a quality pub!

We were looking forward to trying Lindy's Tavern, but sadly it just wasn't our thing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty full in the dining room and very loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices are very reasonable. We both ordered the seafood chowder and we both didn't like how thick it was. My partner got the linguine with clam sauce and I ordered the seafood salad roll, we thought both of our dinners were good but nothing special.

Finally made it to Lindys Tavern in North Smithfield, RI -- just under 30 minutes from Worcester & right off 146! Sunday's special is a $7.50 Bloody Mary topped with a huge shrimp, & it did not disappoint We started with a generous portion of crispy calamari, then dove into our entrées -- he had the 2lb stuffed lobster with a baked potato & butternut squash, & I went for the turkey dinner. Everything was seasoned perfectly & absolutely delicious! Don't forget to try the cornbread, some of the best I've had. Also, huge shoutout to Becca & the crew for their seamless, top-notch service from start to finish We left full, happy, & definitely planning to return!

I am happy we gave this place a shot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is not a lot of signage but once you find the building you are good to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is large with lots of seating options including outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is also a separate building out back that I was told is a bar with bands![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was quick and friendly. Our waitress was confident and competent. I appreciated how fast she got things without making us feel rushed. Now the food. We started with a stuffy (stuffed quahog a RI specialty) we got it Portuguese style with a spicy sausage inside. It was delicious. I didn't want to share but i did. The filling was flavorful and it had just enough heat. We got the calamari RI style. It was tender and tossed in garlic butter with hot pepper rings. It was great the only negative for me was it was served with cocktail sauce instead of marinara. I'm sure they would sub it if asked. So no points deducted. Main course we shared a fisherman platter. It came with a giant piece of fish, 3 fried shrimp and a bunch of fried clams and bay oysters. Coleslaw and tarter too. We subbed o-rings for fries. 2 of us couldn't finish this plate. So much food. The oysters and shrimp were tender and delicious. The clams were clean but a tiny bit chewy. That's the case with clams so I wouldn't call it a drawback. The fish had a cornmeal batter. I do prefer a beer batter but this fish was delicious. Flaky and white with a nice crispy outside. Tartar was typical and slaw was nice. One of the better ones I've had. Overall super great seafood. We loved this place and will definitely be back. .

    Colossal lobster roll
    Lauren P.

Second visit was nothing like my first. Actually ended up the same table with the same waitress. Ordered the colossal lobster roll because I loved it so much the week before and I got served the small one. I said I ordered the colossal and my waiter said nope you ordered the regular one. We also got clam cakes and chowder and they were all just warm, nothing was hot.

Stuffies in the front and fish and chips (onions rings for me) in the back

Ask the Community - Lindy's Tavern

Where is the new location? Yelp is still showing 82 School Street in Forestdale, but I notice that another establishment is now at that address.

98 School Street... just up the road

What is the best time to come on a Sunday? Does it slow down any particular time? Does a packed parking lot necessarily mean a packed bar? Is there a hostess system now in the new bldg?

Sunday's can be hit and miss, especially if it's a 'game' day. So, with that in mind... you may want to go early before any games, or pretty late. The parking lot is huge, along with the bar area, if you don't want to go in to find out, either…

When is the new location opening?

    It's open now!

The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere, so why was it difficult to get a reservation for Saturday night? Simply said, great food at reasonable prices. Our choices were 4:30 or 6:30, we chose to go early after a two-mile chilly walk along the beautiful Blackstone Canal, just 7 minutes away from the UxLocale. We were seated immediately and our waitress arrived in just moments. We were provided menus, waters and we ordered some drinks which arrived not long after. There were only a few patrons here as the UxLocale opens at 4pm. The menu changes weekly, and our party of four selected: * Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese * Tuscan Shrimp Pappardelle * Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle * (2) 1.5" New York Strip Steak * Cannoli for Dessert Let's start with the steaks. In a word, delicious! Both were cooked perfectly medium rare, tender and juicy. Two sides are included, I got the Beet Salad (tasty and nicely dressed) and the potatoes with bacon which were awesome. A co-diner ordered the same dish but got the Caesar salad which he liked very much. We both agreed, a solid 5-star dinner at a reasonable $37 price. The shrimp plate looked beautiful and substantial. The diner loved it and ate every bite. The Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle was also tasty, albeit with strong pepper undertones. If you don't like a lot of pepper, you might try a different dish, or ask if the chefs can cut back on it. That said, I liked it and would be happy to order this. Most of the diners liked the Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese Skillet (slices of Pecorino Romano cheese, warmed to a mild melt and drizzled with truffle-infused honey. The salty, sharp cheese and sweet, pungent honey are a classic pairing in Tuscan cuisine. Warmed and served on a cast-iron skillet). I liked it, one diner thought it was too salty, though that is the way it's described above. The dishes are all large, three of us brought home leftovers. We finished by sharing a cannoli dessert, which was excellent, crispy cannoli with a light and tasty filling. An outstanding dinner, with excellent services at a reasonable price (dinner for four with drinks was $209 before tip). A solid 5-stars on this visit. Note that they request tips be left in cash (for all of us who use little if any cash these days). There is a cash machine when you first enter.
