Lindy's is an eight table restaurant with a long bar. Biker type people filled the joint when I went. They have great calamari, their fish and chips aren't bad and the seafood platter is GIGANTIC. I actually witnessed the owner clearing tables. He personally stopped by to see how everything was. They have great drink specials. I wouldn't mind stopping by if I'm in the area again. read more

I come here often it's one of my go to places hole in the wall type of vibe but today I experienced the worst service ever, I wish the waitress wore name tags cause I would give her a mentioned. She was no where to be found always kept us waiting I never tip under 20% but today I had to do to the fact she was awful I have nothing bad to say about the food I never complain about service even if it's the worst service but this is beyond the worst I have ever experienced in all of my yelp history. As a displaced uxbridge native who only gets back to New England once a year or so, when I want to get back to the basics (that I used to take for granted)... This place scratches the itch. I usually love me some Lindy's, but tonight, this Fried Chicken Dinner fried out my stomach. Me and my friend had our eyes set on the prime rib but they only had the end cuts so we decided to give the chicken a try... well,hell... it was dryyyy. We eagerly sped over after tossing back a margarita. We sat down at the back near the bar and a woman kept revving her golf cart back and forth while little black bugs crawled into my takeout container. (This has nothing to do with lindys service but it was a funny mention to our experience in the area.) the sides were awesome, loved the mashed, pasta and the fries, but that chicken was dry as hell. Excellent food, swift, friendly, attentive service. The beef rice soup tasted like homemade. The baked sweet potato with the entrees was a nice option. All COVID-19 precautions were in place. Food is great-atmosphere is great however portion sizes seem to be smaller and when I went to pay my bill there is a service charge added to the bill if you use a credit or debit card. This fee is based on how much your bill is- ours was 3.81 another tables was over 6 dollars. This is despicable. If you want to run a cash only business disclose that but do not add a service charge onto the bill and not let people know - nor did I see an option of an ATM- to me for a very busy restaurant it is a way for the establishment to make hundreds of dollars in service Charges. But that should tell you something about the meal you are going to have. It's worth the wait. The lunch specials are an outright bargain and the dinner menu is priced extremely fair also. I had been here once before and enjoyed the food and local vibe. I saw that they were offering pickup which I appreciate. I called my order in and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes and that we would be called when the order was ready. When we arrived a large group of bikers arrived and walked in. After waiting about an hour in the parking lot I asked about my order. I was told that a large group showed up so our order was backed up. It was obvious that the walk-ins took priority over our 2 sandwiches. When I got my food one order was incorrect. I was pretty annoyed. It seems that maybe regulars get served first. Bartender was great, comfortable bar stools but the experience was ruined by two of the loudest, most obnoxious belligerent, flatulent customers next to us that we couldn't get out of there fast enough. My boyfriend and I arrived at Lindys for the first time. When we walked through the front door we were greeted by the host, I believe his name was Nate, and by the strong scent of commercial grade Lysol, which has a distinct noxious smell, a far cry from the more common lemon scent normally associated with Lysol products, but due to the covid-19 scare it was worth dealing with and I applaud the owner for taking advanced precautions. The host, Nate, greeted us with great exuberance and proceeded to clear a table, with what only could be described as super human speed and agility. We quickly sat and began reviewing the menu. Our waitress then approached the table taking our drink and food order using only her advanced Mnemonics's which I assume she has honed over her years in customer service. Unfortunately for us it must've been an off day, my bread choice for my sandwich and my boyfriends side choices were wrong, but regardless of what we actually ordered, it didn't keep us from enjoying our meals. Our food came out promptly and our drinks were well crafted. The overall service was decent, however I do suggest maybe using some sort of small spiral note pad to make note of a customers order. The food itself was very good. Large portions at good prices. During the course of our meal our server was unavailable, I only assume there were more important things that needed to be tended to, but then like a goalie leaping to save the game, Nate saved the meal. Like a young Jerry Rice his agility and abilities will go down in folk lore. BAMM!! Here's a togo container BOOM!! Here's a side of blue cheese CRASH!! You need napkins, NATES GOT NAPKINS!!! Even while being our personal MVP he still was able to complete his set tasks, cleaning menus like a boss and breaking down tables like a beast, it was aww inspiring. Our server eventually made her way back to the table, sadly only to remove our condiment caddy mid meal. All of a sudden what actually was happening set in....right at that moment I knew I was in trouble. My plate was stacked with french fries, but I no longer possessed the necessary condiment needed to complete the meal. I froze...all had been lost, a depression started to set in. I questioned the meal, my relationship and even life itself.... if only the server was more focused on MY needs instead of her own need to close out her shift early, I could've avoided this fate...All had been lost.... but then, out of nowhere, like a burst of light in the deep, dark night, the beacon named Nate appeared!!! Like Michelangelo's Creation of Adam , Nate extended his arm holding a fresh bottle of Heinz 57 variety ketchup (the finest of all ketchups) once again restoring my faith in humanity. Sensing the servers urgency to leave, we promptly finished our meal. We then proceeded to pay and gather our belongings, at which point the server, who previously was in rush to leave, had a lengthy conversation directly behind me (ironically preventing me from leaving) with the manger, who couldn't manage to get out of my way. All and all our experience at Lindy's was a bit of a roller coaster, fortunately having far more ups then downs. I would definitely return for another ride and even though I may seem a little critical of our server, my only motive is to help the staff strive to preform at the level of perfection that young Nate displayed. Furthermore I would like to thank Lindy's for sharing their gem of an employee. Nate has inspired me to be become a better me and has given me the motivation to work towards fulfilling my dreams. On a side note, I extend my sympathy to the couple that sat shortly after us on the far end of the dining room. While eating your meal, you held your composure well getting up and retrieving your own ketchup from another table while a certain server sprayed the table next to you with the foul smelling chemical I noted earlier on the review. The service here is amazing. I am out of state and ordered a gift card for my parents anniversary over the phone. I called a few days later out of concern the card hasn't arrived. This is the first time I've ever had anything bad from this place. But because of the way it was handled, I will never go back here. Ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Got it home and saw that it had rotted pieces of lettuce and the chicken was stale. Romaine lettuce is supposed to be green. Except for the lower part of the leaves where it would be more white. I got pieces of brown, rotted stuff. My wife says just throw it out and we know what not to order from there now. I said no way, I'm not throwing money away. I called and spoke with the manager. Gave him the receipt number, and the name the order was under. Now he wants pics. I said okay if you must, I'll dig it out of the trash and take pics. I guess he wanted to see that I truly did not eat it and wasn't trying to scam them. Okay, I sent the pics and had time to eat a different supper. NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK. I called the same number I texted the pics to, left a message. Still no call back. That's okay, don't bother Mr. Manager, apparently you must be tied up on a Tuesday night handling other complaints. It appears this place has graduated from QUALITY to now QUANTITY instead. Thanks for nothing. We stopped going there to eat in because the noise level is so ridiculously loud, even if it's not busy...have you noticed that almost all reviews on here mention how loud it is in there? ... I was a bit disappointed in Lindy's tavern tonight. We've been there in the past and have always had to wait. However, tonight the wait was disproportionately long! We were a party of five which made getting a table a problem. I feel that the management of the tables by the host was done poorly. When you only have three tables that can manage more than four people, you don't fill them up with three or two people. I ordered fish and chips tonight and chose the crispy version over the beer batter. The crispy batter tasted like fried cardboard. I told my husband that I was unwilling to return because of the problems experienced tonight. Take out might be a more reasonable option. read more

There's a reason that if you're not there when the kitchen opens, you don't get a seat for a while! :) The food is good quality, which beats the watering-hole look! My summer bliss is a Dark & Stormy with a lobster roll (which I prefer the bun not toasted) and boy did they deliver that bliss. Also got the raw platter (oysters and littlenecks on the half shell) and that was the icing on the cake. The price is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. If you are not a local, then don't bother visiting this place. We saw the good ratings and decided to pay it a visit since we were visiting friends in the area. It's a small dive bar maybe 10 tables total. So I checked in the host says its about 25 mins wait since all the tables just got seated. Fine we're were willing to wait. While we waited I decided to order some finger food since our kids (2 and 5) were hungry. 5 minutes later a couple walked in and got seated the next table opened up - a four top that they seated the couple...in front of my eyes.
