If there were negative stars I would give them. To start off it took them 50 minutes to make 2 sandwiches and 2 subs. We asked for no Mayo in one of them and we received Mayo on the sandwich. We then got a call from them after leaving to go my home and they said they gave us someone else's food. They gave us two bags in was ours one was someone else's. My wife and I tried Lindy's a few years ago. It has become our go-to restaurant and average one visit per week. Seafood is always super. Free popcorn and friendly efficient service. Only small complaint: go at off-peak time....Friday's are very busy and waiting there is uncomfortable. read more

Been here many times and the food is typically good. The last few times it has been a slow decline. The food arrived last night, the sandwich was very dry and the fries were cold. Now that happens time to time but when the bill came we noticed a $4.44 charge for Covid cleaning? We watched them wipe the bar and tables down with the same damp towel all night. My wife and I are from Texas and came to Rhode Island to visit relatives. We play hockey with a friend that lives in Lincoln part time. He recommended Lindy's Tavern while we were there. Went thereafter 5pm on the Friday before Labor Day. The restaurant was already busy. Only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Not a large place. Bar area was packed. Servers and staff all had good attitudes. Had a great server, Gabrielle. She was very friendly and helped with suggestions of their menu. We chose the raw bar appetizer, little necks, oysters, and boiled shrimp. Since we are from the Gulf Coast we are used to very plump oysters so these were a little small to us,however they were good. We ordered the Lobster Reuben and Fish and chips, 1 piece, for our entree. Very good choice. Nice portions of food for the price. Would recommend the restaurant if you are in the vicinity. read more

Food here is OK. The place is incredibly loud, you can't even have a conversation with the person at your table. Loud even when the bar isn't busy. It really doesn't make sense that they don't take reservations nor will they tell you how long your wait will be. Clearly if you can't do either there is an operations issue. This was very frustrating, especially when you are trying to dine with children. Honestly, if your heading here to sit at a table and not the bar, head somewhere else, it's just not worth it. read more

I'm not a fan of the new location, mainly the layout. While it provides better parking and more space, the open layout makes the noise level unbearable. The waitress even said she can barely hear the orders she's taking. Also they don't post the prices on their dry erase board of their seafood like they used to, leaving it a mystery until you get the bill. I also found that while the menu has lots of options, most of the seafood is fried and there isn't much for healthy alternatives. The service and food were good, but I doubt we'll be going there often. read more

Sorry Lindy's..but won't be back. Stopped going there awhile ago for eat in dining because the noise level was so loud that you couldn't even here the person sitting next to you. The few times we got take out the food was awful. Chicken tips were burnt, fries and onion rings cold and soggy. When we got the call for pick up, it was an hour over the time you gave me that it would be ready. Makes me wonder how long it was sitting there until that call was made. Had a bad experience with the food here. The seafood chowder was extremely vinegary which seemed really odd to me. The stuffed quahogs were not very good at all. It just wasn't a good food experience and I feel like we wasted the money we spent on a dinner we had to throw out. read more

The Best Secret that everyone knows about! 100% worth the wait! Everything is cooked to perfection....OMG...the fried clams!!!! Portions are beyond generous! Prices are beyond reasonable....especially since 2 of us had dinner from my leftovers the next day. I went to Aunt Carries in Gansett and had lousy fried clams a few years ago which bows my mind. Takeout box was smart, not styrofoam but absorbent cardboard style. Pro tip: poke a few holes in the top of the box with your car keys to aerate the crispy clamness no sogging. Big props on the non-chincy portions of their very good slaw and tartar sauce. Is there some cream cheese in the tartar sauce? Slaw was very good. The fries were some of the best I ever had also on a fish dinner. Next time I will ask for ketchup packets, but they were fresh hand cut fries. Believing the hype. Looked like a great sports bar inside worthy of a big game visit. read more

The new location is nice. The wait is long because of its popularity ad think they could do better flipping the tables. Price is good for portions and I've brought the family 4 times. Thursday's prime rib day is hit or miss. Last time I got the queen cut and the fat pile was larger than the meat. It's strange too that you don't get that 2" outside edge of the meat after the fat ring. They must cut it off for another dish on the menu. I just never seen that part missing. Lots of options. I'll go,back, I just hope they continue to work on things and not think it's perfect. read more

My family has been visiting lindys for about a year now (once we discovered the seafood Mac & cheese) for the past year me and my family has always said this place was missing something, it had the great food, the alright prices and the crowd but something about the atmosphere was just missing.... Well we went last night and let me tell you how shocked i was. Entire new looking menu my seafood Mac n cheese was cooked different and normally you'd think that was a bad thing. No it was the exact opposite! I'm more than pleased with who ever is taking this restaurant into the right direction of business! Please I highly recommend you guys go see for your selves the improvements! From the peoples family we wanna say thank you to the entire staff and ownership for just always serving us with open hearts and leaving us with full belly's! I went out for my Birthday and I have always been a big fan of Lindys Tavern so I chose to go there for dinner. We sat at the bar and the first bartender that approached us cleared the the dirty placemat and dishes in front of us and never even said hello. We actually thought he was a bus person. He left for a few minutes,came back, and proceeded to set us up with placemats and utensils, still not saying a word to us. My boyfriend asked how he was doing? He answered and got us a drink. He came back a few minutes later, took our order, and never came back for the rest of the night. Another bartender dropped the food and again didn't come back to see how everything was or if we wanted another drink or anything else! The next time we seen her was after we were done. I have been a server for over 30 years and that is not how you take care of your patrons. That was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. Especially from people who make a living by giving quality service! Shame on them for, in my opinion, bringing the quality of a good restaurant down. Service is a huge part of dining out for us, and unfortunately we won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Lindy's Tavern is a paragon of New England cuisine. I had a couple really great meals here last time I was in the area. There was a wait both times, but it moved quickly. They had good drink specials, a varied and broad menu, and friendly service. All the food was great. Awesome chicken parm, and the lobster reuben was great but a little heavy on the Thousand Island for me. I have a feeling Lindy's will be a regular stop when I'm up visiting MA/RI. read more

Went there for dinner and drinks. Impressed! This place has REALLY good food! I myself had the French onion soup and a reuben sandwich which were both very flavorful and satisfying. People in ny party had the baked stuffed lobster, beef stogranoff, and seafood Newburg pasta dish (on the specials menu). I had a bite of everyone's meala and they were all fantastic especially the Newburg sauce in that dish! We all had drinks and they were great as well. Our waiter was friendly and service was quick. I read the reviews about Lindy's. I had driven by several times. I was skeptical. Looking for a change... we stopped. **NEW GO TO for pub grub and seafood! We started with the All you can eat chowder and cakes. Red Chowder!!! Hoo-friggin'-ray. No milk soup here. The default chowder is red. I hate to use the term 'Manhattan' so I'll just say this 'chowda' kicks ass. The cakes were bomb also; well crisped on the outside and hot and fluffy inside. Finally, somebody that does it right. Everyone, especially in RI, claims to be the best, but Lindy's is my fave so far and I've had way more than my share of chowder and cakes. We also ordered the double fish and chips to share, but thankfully, our server waited to put it in. She must have experienced the unknowing newbie mistake before....there was no way we could have made a dent in a double F&C. The other food being served around us looked phenomenal and plentiful to say the least. After chowder and cakes, my girl bowed out as she couldn't eat anymore, so we cancelled the F&C and I went for a dozen wings @ .35 per. I had 6 buffalo and 6 teriyaki. Awesome. I sort of wished I didn't glut on the cakes! The unassuming spot does look divey, but I have been in a lot worse. I'm not sure why other reviewers claim this is a 'biker bar'. Motorcycle riders do NOT a biker bar make. Sure, there is some motorcycle stuff to be seen, but a lot more sports stuff, lottery stuff, and beer stuff, but I wouldn't call it a sports bar, casino or brew mill. Even with a pretty full place of ALL types of patrons (from infants to grampas) the staff and servers all seemed to have brought their 'A' game. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. Even the bus girl was busting, keeping tables free of dirty plates and empty glasses, not just after customers left, either. Drink refills kept flowing without request, menu suggestions were given, orders were taken without error and delivered promptly. I was impressed. I have a mission to return many times and try more. I had wanted to try Lindy's for quite a while due to hearing such good reviews. Yes, it is small. Seating is limited. On a Wednesday night we waited over 30 minutes. We were in the walking path of the servers and men's bathroom while waiting which was no fun. I could go elsewhere for similar price and quality with better atmosphere and no wait. I enjoyed my blue sangria. The unlimited movie theatre style popcorn was fun. My friend and I enjoyed our meals. I was psyched to see corn bread croutons on my salad like I used to get at Box Seats. They were plentiful but tasted more of the fried taste than corn bread which was disappointing. Glad I tried it but do not need to rush back. read more

Yes the place is small, you have to go at the right times and you will be fine. I have always been lucky when I go and have never waited more than 5mins for a table or seat at the bar.
