Your basic, not-good Chinese delivery. We were new to the neighborhood and this place came recommended for delivery. The crispy beef was not crispy and was more like General Tso's. The fried dumplings were steamed dumplings that were super burnt on one side with what looked like an open flame. The chicken fried rice was good except it only had chicken and chopped, raw, white onions in it. The crab rangoons are very plain. We also ordered a chicken fried rice with no MSG and no salt. We didn't realize that the restaurant says it's a no MSG place, but somehow, the "no MSG" fried rice tasted like boiled brown rice with chicken broth. This was my 1st time at this resturant and I wasn't disappointed at all. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's dimly lit and felt just right for my date night. I ordered the bento box and a side of shrimp tempura sushi. In my box I had rice, a spring roll, general taso chicken, and 6 pieces of California rolls. Every thing was fresh and the food had plenty of flavor. I loved that the chicken had just the right amount of sauce and actually had a little kick to it. Our waitress was attentive and polite. Lin's gets 5 stars from me because the service is excellent and because it's vegan friendly! The servers are super sweet and very attentive. They have several options for vegan diners such as the tofu vegan burrito, mixed veggies with brown rice, a variety of pad Thai, and I even confirmed with the chef that the miso soup is made without fish product. The staff is happy to accommodate and answer questions. Get creative with their menu, they have a lot of stuff to make a flavorful vegan dish. It's very affordable. Totally worth the visit! I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, but when I saw the varied menu (Chinese, Japanese, and Thai all in one place!), my husband and I decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed! Same price range as a regular Chinese take-out place, but the ambiance and food were definitely not. I had a bento lunch plus a small tom yum, while my husband had the sushi appetizer and the drunken noodle set lunch, and boy they were more than enough! The bento can be a combination of Chinese and Japanese (it came with rolls), do it definitely satiated my cravings. I have never eaten any rice noodles so tasty... very light and not oily or greasy; chock full of broccoli, bok choy, garlic, eggs, and more: just the perfect amount of seasoning - not overly salty or sweet. Went for lunch, the options available and the prices were good. The wonton soup and pork dumplings were so so yummy. They got my order mixed up for my entree, but they corrected it right away. Honestly wasn't that bothered because I was already filled up from the appetizers. I ordered the sesame chicken, took one bite and was just not a fan. This is definitely one of the best sit down Chinese\Asain restaurants on this side of town (Brandermil area). It has a nice ambiance, calm atmosphere and it's clean. I love that they offer sushi in addition to hot entrees. We got the Panang (Peanut) curry, the happy family, and Singapore noodles. The curry dish was definitely the best of the three in my opinion, spicy and served nice and hot. We also ordered the spring sushi roll and a tempura one that I can't remember and they were both delicious (a little too heavy on the eel sauce though.) So this place just ruined dinner for my family tonight. I called and made sure they were open, then I called back to order dinner for my family. I placed the order and the person on the phone never told me how long it would be before hanging up. So I called back and informed them I just made a phone order and was curious how long it would take. I was told 30 to 40 minutes. I left my house and arrived 30ish minutes after I ordered. It took them 10 minutes to interact with me. Then I was told takeout orders get put on the counter as they are ready. Ok. Sat and waited 20 more minutes. A family came in and ordered takeout during this time. They received their food 20 minutes after they ordered. So I asked about my order. They went in back to "check on it" and I was told it would be a few minutes. A few minutes later they bring a bad out of the kitchen and asked told me yes you ordered lo mein right? I informed them of my order for the 3rd time since this exchange. It was then 7:35. I ordered at 6:25. They did something on a terminal and printed a ticket and went back to the kitchen. It was at this point I realized what had happened. They never put my order in their system. I knew who the manager was because she had already dealt with other people's who had issues during my wait. I proceeded to ask her if the person who just printed my ticket was going in the back to make my food. She said she didn't know and I explained how long it had been. She told me multiple times that they are busy and that she is sorry. Never firing my order because you're busy isn't an excuse. You never put my order in and in the multitude of times I had asked about it not once did you figure out my order wasn't in. Obviously you're establishment can't function in a way that every other restaurant functions. Much more, food taking longer because you're busy is a thing that happens. Not putting an order in is rediculous. They repeatedly blaming being busy for not doing their job is insane. What is much worse is, only 3 takeout orders got picked up in my 50 minutes in the store. They repeatedly mentioned a lot of takeout orders. 3 in an hour? Looks like I'll be finding a new place to get Chinese food. read more

This is the place to go in the Midlothian area for the best tasting chinese food. Their takeout process is super easy, and eating in provides quick, courteous service. Having all the sauces/utensils/fortune cookies available to grab and go is very convenient. We eat here regularly as a family and will continue to! So...this was my first Chinese experience here in RVA....the Garlic Chicken was good but clearly cooked too close to shellfish because I had to grab my Benadryl like 15 minutes after eating. I have a minor allergy that's usually okay but this was rough. The Wonton Soup was probably the worst I've ever had...mushy dumplings...broth was terrible...my dog usually loves the "crunchies" that come with that type of soup mixed with the broth...he wouldn't touch it. I put an order online through their website. They wanted a credit card and I put in my CC information including security code. This is a credit card that I rarely use, the last time I had used it was over two weeks ago at a gas station. Within hours I receive a call from Chase fraud department asking me if I had made several large purchases at the Walmart in Midlothian near the Home Depot with this credit card (I had not). I can only assume my information was either hacked on their website or possibly skimmed at their restaurant as they ran my card when I picked up my order. IF YOU'RE ORDERING DELIVERY: I don't know if Yelp is to blame or the restaurant itself but I placed an order through yelp at 8:00pm and it said the delivery time was 45-6min. SURE WHY NOT, IM STARVING & wanted Chinese. OVER AN HOUR LATER, I have nothing. I call and the lady (nice as could be, even through my hangry yelling) stated we just got the order at 8:24. It hasn't been made yet & offered to THEN make it and have it delivered. UH NO its already after 9pm & Im not waiting until 10pm to eat dinner. Then they said that I .. ME .. Ordered take out through Yelp. When we arrived 20 minutes later to an empty restaurant, the entire staff was in the dining area. The waitstaff said they had "forgotten" our order. Food took 10 minutes to prepare. Nothing magical. I ordered the Pad Thai - no peanut flavor....very bland and not spicy. Husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken, said it was ok. Spring rolls were super greasy and filling was bland. Overall, I give this place 2 stars. Food was tolerable but won't go back. read more
