I'm not a buffet fan since I don't know who or what has touched the food available to dish out yourself, but our friends wanted to go there. I found the restaurant looked clean and the few staff members were pleasant. The fried food looked mushy, so I passed. I got a few pieces of sushi that I found the rice to have a stale texture. I have no idea what I ate as there were no signs by each selection. It was below average. Fortunately, for my main meal I chose the Mongolian grill. The veggies looked fairly fresh & the sauces tasty but again the only noodle choice (no clue what it was - no signage) seemed stale. The young lady cooking my food was attentive, friendly & thanked me for my tip. All things considered, it was an OK experience. I will likely not return. read more

Truly a grand buffet! Service was great, we actually got a table pretty quickly even though it seemed pretty busy. Really fun inside, my kids seemed to like all of the interesting decor. I usually prefer to not go to buffets, but I have had Lin's bookmarked for a while. I heard that there was now an east valley location open and I knew I had to check it out soon. Went last night for dinner and there were 7 of us in total, all adults. We arrived at 7pm and figured we still had plenty of time to eat since they close at 9pm. Walking in, the hostess who was wearing a red shirt was rude right away. No hello, she rolled her eyes, and just looked at us as we walked in is disgust. I went up to her and asked her how the process went as we were all just standing there without any direction. She quietly, almost whispering, said that we had to pay first. So we paid. Usually in buffets, I have always eaten first and then paid, but no problem. Dinner fee is about $19 per person with a soft drink. Water is free. Oh and they also ask you here if you want to tip your server now or if you're going to leave a cash tip at the table.... that was a first for me.. We sat down. The inside is huge and it was pretty busy for a Monday night. The server came around in a much cheery happy mood and got us our drinks. The buffet selection was ok and everything was running low. I do think that since it was close to closing time, they weren't really refilling the entrees so most of it was sparse. The food was eh. Some items were too dry, others had no flavor, the chicken and meat had a lot of chewy and rubbery pieces (gag) and the rice was really mushy. The ice cream was the BESTTTT. Our drinks were refilled once and they sat empty most of the time. We had to remind her of straws, napkins, refills. Kind of felt bad for her, since I only saw her running around helping tables. We left at 8:30pm and there was still people eating and a group of people had just arrived. Can't imagine that they were able to find any food if when we were there, the entrees were already low. 1 star because the blonde girl in the front left such a negative impact on our experience. I have been going there for 2 years now and things have gone downhill. Today, their soda machine was broken. Also, what really rubbed me the wrong way is that they started charging children over 10 years old as adults. That is ridiculous. They obviously need more money. What makes this buffet different? They make freshly grilled steak and have a mongolian bbq built in. They also have egg tarts and thin stir fried noodles. For $15.89 Dinner pricing and $12.99 Lunch. It's hard to beat this selection in Arizona. The rest of the food is good. Everything is good, nothing will blow your mind away. But it's $15 for dinner. Monday night and we wanted to try Lin's Buffet because of a new one opening up in Casa Grande soon. We weren't overly impressed. Maybe it's because we've been to better ones since we've eaten at a Lin's. Food was sparce in the serving pans. Some of the items appeared a little overcooked. Paper plates were set up for patrons to take and use along with plastic utensils. Never seen that in a buffet. Food was okay but nothing that I would say was absolutely delicious. The Mongolian Grill didn't have the offerings other buffets we had been to had. Not much more to say but we were a little disappointed. read more

The fried rice was undercooked, dry, and bland. The fried butterfly shrimp was okay in flavor but again dry. When you order it through DoorDash they don't serve any sauce so neither dish couldve even be saved. Both dishes were also extremely cold. I probably won't be eating this again and wouldn't recommend. Theres better food in the area read more

First time at Lin's. There was no wait and unlike other buffets we have been to, you pay when you walk in the door. You get plastic gloves at the entry and everything is on paper plates and plastic utensils. The server we had was very attentive and the Mongolian chef was excellent. The food was just okay , I've had better buffets. The ribs were a bit over cooked, but rather over cooked than under. The sushi selection while tasty was underwhelming in diversity. I'm on vacation this week in the Phoenix area while it is freezing cold practically everywhere else in the US. We go hiking in the mountains during the day and are ready for a nice meal for supper. Lin's does not disappoint. We tried this place on Wednesday, 2/17, and were impressed. The adult rate is $13.99 with senior discounted rate of $12.60. The booths have plastic panels between them, and masks are gloves are required when you go to the buffet. The gloves are supplied. They have a wide variety of foods and everything was fresh. They had sushi and a hibachi grill. They also had pizza, fries, and some other stuff for the kids. We tried the Golden Corral in Chandler on Thursday, 2/18. There was not nearly the variety, not as fresh, and it cost more. Needless to say, we are back here again on Friday, 2/19. There was a 20 minute wait to be seated but the food is worth it. Shao, our server, has been very prompt with drinks and napkins. His service is even better than we had on Wednesday with the normal crowd size. The place was packed when we arrived but cleared out pretty quickly to a normal sized crowd for social distancing purposes. The only things I tried that I didn't like were because they were too spicy for me -- but I'm a spice wimp. I'm sure others would appreciate a few spicy hot dishes. I wasn't able to try everything. There was just too much. Maybe we'll come back once more before we head back to the cold. read more

Been looking forward to their opening since pre-covid. Have been an ocassional customer at their other location but that one is too far away to make a regular thing. Covid wise, there is ample room between tables and plexiglass between booths. At the time of this visit, it was not busy enough to see if 50% capacity was being observed but felt perfectly comfortable with those around me. Paper plates and utensils are provided. You are also required to wear blue disposable gloves when plating your food. (I MUCH prefer this to having someone else plate it for you.) I did not see a single customer without gloves or mask when helping themselves. All employees were also wearing masks and gloves. The food was hot and fresh with a wide variety of items to choose from. The service was friendly but had to flag a server down a few times for drink refills rather than them approaching me. I have watched the construction for Lin's since the very beginning when I didn't even realize what they were building. I live nearby and will often go to the Lowes in which you will find Lin's as well. It is located in the very same parking lot. Today was my first time visiting this location as I have visited the Tempe location before. Pros: They take Covid very seriously and I really appreciated that. They ask that you still wear a mask even though the Governor lofted the order. I have absolutely no problem with that. businesses can enforce their own rues and if you don't like it then you do not have to eat there. They gave you a mask if you did not have one. They have hand sanitizing stations. Everything is plastic -- the silverware and cups but the plates are paper. They have gloves they ask you to wear when going up to the buffet line since everyone touches the tongs. I loved, loved, loved how cautious they were being. The food was good, nothing to write home about. Cons: Refills on drinks -- you essentially have to flag a waitress down to get you a refill. The place was packed- Covid cautious, but kind of walking over each other at the buffet lines. I would be back again, but am in absolutely no rush. read more

We took our kids there who were visiting from back east. We paid and were promptly seated at a table suitable for our party of 6. While the chairs are not super-comfortable, they aren't bad for families with kids. I can honestly say that in the two times we visited this week I did not have anything that was either good or "wow"-excellent! We first went there on Wednesday and again on Friday at the visitor's request. I think the only thing they didn't get right was the steak. They serve thin sirloin strip steaks - they are a nice size, just very thin. I asked for mine rare knowing with how thin it was, just passing it over the grill was going to get it to medium rare. Given their routine of seasoning and scoring the midsection to cook in the seasoning mine was well done when plated. Not complaining because it was still very moist and tasty. The variety is also outstanding. After living in Beijing for several months, I can say that several of the dishes and preparations of the dishes are very authentic. The beef dishes for example, have beef cuts prepared just like we had in Beijing. It makes me wonder if they have their own butcher. I definitely recommend this Chinese buffet for my East Valley neighbors! read more

The ice cream tastes like mashed potatoes, the steak was greasy, the water was the best part, even though we got it late because the waiter was in lalala land,(nice guy tho). Received a reply from Lin's regarding my complaining that there was no sushi with fish (a requirement for naming it sushi) for five visits. Said she would contact the local management at Ellsworth. We've been there another 6 times, and no fish. The place remains clean, and there are plenty of choices to gill up on. Desserts are limited. All the chicken dishes taste the same. read more

It's a ritual when we need to treat the mother in law this is where she likes to go. Honestly, it's pretty darn good for stereotypical Chinese Buffet food. The pans are always full, they have a lot, not a little of everything from basically every type of food preferences. A decent amount of good seafood and sushi, American fare, Mongolian grill (which is really cool), some amazing desserts etc. it's super affordable, the staff is very friendly and quick to help clear your plates and fill your drinks. It's very nice inside too. I recommend this place first as far as a Mesa Chinese buffet goes :) read more

First time we ate here it was pretty good, not great but decent. This time we showed up and the lobby was a little warm. I though maybe because the front doors open and closing. We paid went into dining room and it's a blistering 90 something g degrees in here. No one warned us they had no ac! Why would a company not warn us about not having a working ac in this Arizona 114 temperature? I am a repeat customer at Lin's and every time when I arrive at its parking lot, I always see an almost full parking lot, it already speaks for itself about very good food here. For myself every time after I eat the food I always feel completely satisfaction, and never feel disappointed. Very good quality on vegetables, meat and sea food, and they are all cooked well and delicious. As always I love the food at Lin's and it also has great service. So far it is the BEST Buffet I have tried. I would not go to any other places for the same quality of food, only Lin's. Thank the chef and all the people working at Lin's. read more

First visit was around 2pm. Food was ok and atmosphere was good. About a month later we went for a second visit at about 6pm. We paid, we're shown to our table and the place place wasn't just warm, it was uncomfortably HOT. We decided food was good but we cannot come back this late in the day. The lobby has HUGE west facing windows. Not ideal for AZ but if you have them then you must compensate by lowering room temp. Our last visit ( and I do mean our last) was about 1130am. Room temp was ok but all of the food was cold. We informed the waitress and she said she'd let them know, but her demeanor says she heard it often enough that she wasn't telling anyone. Fast forward 24 hours. I'm deathly ill, missed two days of work and still am only 50% health wise. I will steer everyone away from this place until I see an A+ health inspection rating posted and even then I really am gun shy. read more

We had high hopes but unfortunately not ... when we arrived , we were able to get seated very fast ! the hostess called our number and "took off" speed walking to the table before we could stand from the waiting area . I thought it was more funny than i was mad because we "lost " sight of her for a minute and had no idea where we were getting sat at ! Unfortunately food was cold , and some of the food doesn't get replaced till it's all gone ? For instance the pizza .. there was 1 tiny slice left on the tray and they didn't have more fresh pizza ready to restock it so we could at least take 2 slices . I wish the food could we warmed more , and that food was getting stocked faster :( we were so excited and had high hopes ! The best thing if the night was how friendly our server was ! I have eaten here a couple of times now for lunch. The food has always been fresh and when an item was getting low, it was replenished. They have a lot of different items including a small salad bar which is great, a Mongolian BBQ section, a sushi section, and an 'American section. Service is okay to good, but always friendly. For myself, the only real downside is they use paper plates and plastic silverware. So, I bring my own fork and knife now. Solved. I'll definitely be back, well worth the $12.99, especially when a burger and fries at most places cost the same. And if you like ribs, they always have some on the buffet.
