I was surprised that the place was packed at lunchtime and we had to take a number. It moved very quickly though. Our waitress was amazing. Very courteous and attentive. There was definitely more than enough food to choose from and every serving dish was always replenished well before it was empty. You never got the last of anything. My family and I have been wanting to try this new restaurant since it opened, as we want it to succeed in Murrieta. We arrived for dinner, and the wait wasn't too long for our party of four, around 15 minutes. When we got to the dinner line, we noticed there were two quite a bit of choices, and the people were getting their fill. My wife and I then started to get our food, when my wife saw that there was a crab dish she wanted, although very little left. My wife then asked the male Hispanic worker if there was more to come, but his female Asian coworker promptly jumped in and rudely told my wife that it'd be in about 10 minutes, with both a demeaning tone and a scowl on her face, and her attitude completely ruined the mood of the dinner. We told our server (can't remember her name, but she was great) and she brought the manager, and we addressed the incident to him. We'll see if anything changes. The food was average (being honest and not sour grape-ing), but plenty. Not too sure if we will return, but hopefully you will have a better experience. read more

After reading the excellent reviews we had to go. I love Mongolian Bbq. Made a beeline to the Mongolian section bypassing the fresh fruit and salad sections. Saw the help yourself ingredients and started putting my choices on my plate. A large bowl would serve better. There was a scant amount of sliced mushrooms, a disappointment but did have sliced onions, shredded cabbage, broccoli, and more to choose from. They offered beef, chicken, and pork as the meats. They were ground, not the thin slices at most places. The ground meat cooked up poorly in tiny pieces. At end of counter was the noodles. I looked all around for the fixings for the sauce and finally asked a server in adjoining area where it was. I needed to go back to the start and a man came up and he said he prepared the sauce. Did I want mild, spicy, or more spicy. I asked for more spicy. He and others took turns cooking it and I was served it back on a clean plate. It was very mild but tasty. When I was chewing it, I noticed some granules but nothing that alerted me. Then I did notice something and it was the side of my premolar tooth that broke off. Did not notify anyone as I don't know for sure what caused it to break. I did try a little assortment of other food there but the jalapeño, kung pau, and another one all tasted the same. Recently opened Lin's Grand Buffet in Murrieta is the fifteenth location in this three-year old chain of high-quality Asian-themed buffets. Started in Texas and Arizona, this is Lin's first venue in California and judging from the Memorial Day lunchtime visit made today, it certainly looks like more locations in CA will follow. We arrived just before noon to find the expansive parking lot rapidly filling up and a short line of hungry diners extending out the entrance. This location was a Golden Corral Buffet in a former life but has been considerably upgraded and remodeled to conform to Lin's model. You pay in advance upon entry, $15.99 for an adult lunch with a 10% senior discount available. Bottomless Coca-cola branded soft drinks are $3.99. The selection of items here is fairly extensive and includes a Mongolian barbecue station as well as a soft-serve ice cream station. The quality of offerings here is a cut above the other Asian buffets found in the area and will likely put a sizable dent in their business. Most everything we sampled was very well made and of a wide variety that included two types of pork spareribs, several shrimp offerings and many chicken and beef-based entrees. The sushi station was somewhat limited in its size compared to the other local competitors, but what was there was very good. Our friendly hostess kept our used plates cleared and our beverages topped off regularly. One item needing attention is the lack of a napkin dispenser anywhere. Not found on the table, nor where one gets fresh plates. You must ask your server for additional napkins which we definitely needed. A visit to the restroom found them sparkling, fresh-smelling and yay! both paper hand towels as well as the air dryer option. Lin's Grand Buffet will see us return soon and judging from the packed lunchtime crowd here today, many other patrons will be back as well. read more

Tried this place out because most reviews sounded great. To start the service was amazing. Every person we had contact with was very kind and attentive. The hosts let us know there was a short wait and in all we only waited about 5 -10 minutes before being seated. Our server was a very attentive young man. He got our drink orders right away and was checking on his tables often making sure everyone had what they needed. The kitchen staff was very fast paced and hard working. As soon as one dish got low there was a new one right behind it so everything was nice and hot. The interior was beautiful and very clean. Now my only negative was the quality of the food. I know they have just opened recently and maybe just had an off night but some of the seafood dishes made me genuinely nervous that they would make me sick. I actually spit out a few bites because they tasted very off, especially the seafood boil. I'm hoping we just caught them on a bad night. I may try them once more but after the quality issues I may sweet clear until they are more established. read more

Good food at a great price but the non-Asian workers were rude and unfriendly. The Asian workers were all very nice and polite but that's how Asian people are by default. It's just a shame that the other workers should know better but instead they want to take advantage of the fact that the owner of the restaurant is probably an immigrant with a different set of values and doesn't know that good customer service is a key part of a successful business. I understand the restaurant gets busy and can get stressful but I've worked in customer service before. No matter how stressful it got for me, I've never once copped an attitude to a random customer. The restaurant was really busy yet the staff were very courteous and had a large variety of food options. One of the staff brought cups of water which accidentally spilled; he was very apologetic and cleaned up the spillage quickly. Another staff member was friendly asking questions. Tried it first time this past Friday. At first glance I liked the set up, looked clean and efficient. I was in the mood for Chinese food which is why I chose it. My friend and I were so excited to try this place and gave it a go yesterday. Cashier and our server were A++. Our server was amazing at refilling our drinks and checking on us several times. The biggest issue I had was the food. It wasn't great. Their fried items all taste the same. Even the fries tasted weird. While the buffet had tons of variety of food, it was meh. I thought Mr. You's food tasted better than this place sadly. Understandably so, prices were pretty decent, so I guess you get what you pay for. They had lots of seafood items, but still pretty meh. I was a bit grossed out with the salad bar having squeeze bottles for the dressing. So many hands touching it and some of the bottles had other gross stuff on it. I also think they need to be better with labeling with the dessert area. (All other areas were labeled great.) The dessert area was confusing and they had all the labels sitting on top of the cabinet, so you had to guess what was what. For the most part, the restaurant was clean and it was pretty packed.
