It's a 2.5 .... Yelp needs to add the half stars! Sunday out with my son and we stopped in for a bite to eat. Joey has been here several times and his recommendation brought us in. Walk up to the counter and order your food move to the end and request a beverage ( beer ) is available and nonalcoholic as well, then pay. Find a table and the food is delivered. I ordered a rigatoni and meat sauce special that was posted on the special message board outside and Joey ordered a small ham and cheese calzone. When I placed my rigatoni order the young man behind the counter turns to a co-worker and in an abrupt tone shouts " do we still got rigatoni"? another guy chimes in with "I think we got some in back" I should have canceled right then and there!!!!! So, as this is MY first time here I go with it and when it was delivered to the table although hot, the pasta was so over cooked I couldn't decipher if it was rigatoni or bits of chopped linguini....Lets say the pasta wasn't two days left over, it had potential, the meat sauce was decent. Joey's ham calzone was very good. He likes the way they make the crust and pack it with ham and cheese. When purchasing a "meal" like I did you receive a warmed garlic bread loaf and a salad, both were very tasty So, I understand this is a Downingtown icon and next time I will order a calzone or a pie and try one of those. This place has been consistent and a staple for that quick convenient night for takeout. We were regulars back when they were Bravo, now regulars as Liones. The guys (family, brothers?) are always friendly. I can call an order and have it ready in less than 20-25 minutes. My daughter loves the Italian stromboli, my oldest and my wife regularly go for the manicotti dinner and I range from the cheesesteaks to parm sandwiches. Great pasta salad, chicken caesar I believe. Best pizza place in downing town it's a bit pricey but sometimes you gotta pay for the good stuff. Awesome place to stop by for a slice, they have tons of options an their stuffed slices are incredible. So I'm an idiot and walked in without really paying attention to what I was ordering. I ended up with what I thought was going to be a NY style thin crust pizza and instead I got a behemoth of a piece. It was one of their stuffed pizzas and had a lot of the meat on top (sausage and pepperoni), with plenty of cheese oozing out of the middle. Very tasty, but also quite greasy (I blame the meat). I was extremely happy to see beer on tap and ordered a draft of Stella. Definitely a good place to call for pizza! read more

My husband always raved about Liones (he works nearby) and he finally took me there last night for a quick dinner. WOW! Tasty food. Fast & friendly service. It's my new favorite pizza place. I enjoyed the italian stromboli and my husband had the steak bacon pizza. AWESOME crust, you can definitely tell it's made fresh daily. We had plenty of pasta salad to take home. A little on the pricey side, but you can tell they really make an effort to create a nice atmosphere and serve great food. We'll definitely be back for more. read more

I like their pepperoni slices. Also the sausage/cheese calzone. Easy to order - I only have one suggestion: Make pepperoni pizza to start the day at lunch since it is a popular topping instead of having customers wait for you to add and heat (slowly I might add) the pepperoni pieces to a slice of cheese pizza. Never been to Downingtown until we were searching for a Dogfish Head beer for a special occasion. Lione's was the closest place to Wilmington, so went made the trip. We felt funny just buying the beer, so we ordered a few slices. They had us at the first bite of Sicilian Tomato Pie! Now we make the trip at least twice a month (more like 4 really!) Super friendly staff - Great service. We brought our two kids (10 and 8), and they took the time to explain all the options to our kids. When we asked about milk, they appologized that they didnt carry any, but encouraged us to go next door and bring in whatever we liked. Our kids had two slices cooked to order, and I had a stuffed slice with the daily soup. My wife had the chicken broccoli salad. Everything had great flavor. The restaurant was very clean. I just moved to Downingtown about a couple of months ago, so naturally my first order of business was to find my "go to" pizza shop. I tried Spatolas first, and while it was good, I knew there had to be something better. I tried Liones next based on yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I pretty much knew this was the place immediately after trying the pizza, but I felt like I needed to try Sals since it was so close to my new house. My family has been eating here for years, since they were part of the Bravo chain and I'll admit their food is delicious. But the change in staff there recently has left a very bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). I was there twice in the last week. First time I ordered 2 slices to go. The girl took my slices out of the oven and left them in a box behind the counter. I waited at least 10 minutes for her to stop conversing with another employee to hand me my box. By the time I got home my pizza was cold. The second time I ate there. 2 employees (one being the girl from the first time) were extremely rude. They talked amongst themselves and ignored customers and one even rolled her eyes at my friend and I when we asked for our items. It's sad because Travis and his brothers make great food but this place seems to seriously be going downhill. Unfortunately it looks like we'll be finding another pizza place. read more

The husband and I LOVE Lione's - it's our primary pizza place. I've gotten their special pasta before which was okay but their salad was good with a lot of veggies other than just iceberg lettuce. This is my local pizza place and its head-and-shoulders above the rest in our area! The owner (Travis) and his two brothers run it and will not serve anything that they wouldn't serve to their own families. Slices and pies both available, in addition to a large menu. I love the baked Italian hoagie and the sausage pizza myself, but the real gem here is the eggplant and ricotta pie, I like to add banana peppers to it! Also have outstanding white pies, many variations available. Family friendly, very clean. Give it a try when in the WC, Exton, Downingtown area, you won't be sorry.
