I was a frequent customer of Lion's Choice for years but after a horrible experience at the Ellisville location (which included dining in filth, being served rancid food and encountering a rude and insulting supervisor) I paused giving the company any business. Today I decided to go the Chesterfield spot, where I have been many times, and was glad I did. It was spotless and all of the workers were extremely polite and professional. The real pleasant surprise was eating (for the first time) the cod fish sandwich. It was exceptional. Unfortunately, is only served on Fridays during Lent. I wanted a quick bite and had a taste for some chili cheese fries. I decided to come here because I like their thin cut fries and cheese sauce. I legs from the drive through and it wasn't crowded. Staff came on the intercom as I pulled up and took my order. The process was smooth and the staff was friendly. Only thing I don't like is their utensils aren't pre wrapped. The fries weren't bad. The chili had beans and taste ok. I think the salt from the fries balanced the taste because the chili seemed a bit bland. Next time I'll order just cheese fries. read more

I ordered lunch here for pickup the other day. It was my first time ordering something other than their amazing fries (from when I was a kid) hoping that the experience would be just as good. I was pleasantly surprised that I had arrived right on schedule for pickup at 12:15pm and the food was just about packed up for me. Talk about prompt service! I ordered the Italian beef, fries, and a root beer. I will never stop raving about these fries. They were somehow even better than I remembered as a kid and I couldn't have been happier. I feel like a lot of fast food restaurants have drastically declined these days, but that is not the case for Lion's Choice. Everyone else could learn a thing or two from y'all! This location doesn't have the best reviews, but I can personally say that my experience does not match those poor reviews. This location was pretty clean from what I saw, the manager on duty was making sure that everything was good with my order not knowing that I was the custom who's order was being worked on. The lunch rush just started and the place was about 50% full so I got there at a great time. It has been a hot minute since I've been to this Lion's Choice and WOW was I impressed on this visit! I stopped in here on a lunch break and was pleased to learn that they now have "smaller" meals with a small fry and drink for a bit cheaper (because a value meal here is like $10). Not a native St. Louis or midwestern person, so I cannot say I've seen lions choice any where else before in my life. Decided I'd try it in a hurry and wow I have to say this thing was BAD. I got the original roast beef and it was loaded with so much salt it felt like I was eating a sandwich soaking in the ocean, and we are no where near the ocean. Fries were also stiff and tiny. Not to mention the whole meal costs $11. Lions choice feels like if eating Arby's leftovers. No disrespect to lions or choices but this was a miserable experience. This place was the worst service I've had in awhile. Ever since Covid it seems like the service in places has not been good. I'm leaving a 2 star because the food wasn't bad, but the service was not good. The lady seemed pissed and annoyed the entire time she was serving us. Half of the tables were turned over. No napkins were in the containers so I had to use paper towels that the lady was using for cleaning. All of the sauces were put away so the only sauces available were ketchup packets. All of the hand sanitizer was empty and the soap in the women's restroom was practically gone. Mind you we came here around 6 pm and they close at midnight. When my boyfriend asked about getting a shake, the lady looked over at the guy in the back and just said "ice cream don't work." My kids and I grew up with Lion's Choice (not Arby's) so stopping here has been a regular spot for a really great fast meal if you're a 'beef' fan! You can order a regular, large or biggie size sandwich depending how much meat you want, then make it a 'meal combo' with fries and a drink. Enjoy the fresh shaved roast beef piled on a sesame bun lightly dashed with LC's (salty) seasonings. Then the fun part is you can add your own diced onions, banana peppers, pickles or jalapeños plus 'sauces' or au jus to your liking - all offered self serve. I'm big on creamy horseradish, so that's the only sauce I use, but they also have chipotle, ketchup, mustard condiments. So good with your sandwich or hot fries! I also really like their 'hearty' chili, thick with meat, beans onions, diced tomatoes with a nice chili flavor. Add a little hot sauce, onions and crackers, makes a good meal or side with a sandwich. It'd be even better with grated cheese, but not sure they offer it. You can also get hot dogs and soft serve ice cream cones if not a roast beef fan. Oops, today I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo of my food, ugh. I know, what kind of a guy takes the time to review fast food. We pretty much know what we are getting when we go in, right? Well, I had a birthday coupon for a free regular sandwich so for lunch I decided to use it. I have had roast beef at Arby's and Hardees but never at Lion's Choice. I guess we don't always know what to expect. This is really not something I would get again. I posted a photo. Either they pulverize the beef instead of slicing or I happened to get a wad of crumbs that were cleaned up off the slicer. Well at least it was tender, but (close your eyes) can you taste that this is beef? I absolutely could not. All it tasted like was the seasoned salt (something like their version of Lawry's) that they shook on top in excess. I can't imagine a circumstance where this would be something I would eat on purpose. I suppose it is something that kids like. I also could recommend it to the toothless, since you can pretty much gum the sandwich. Aug 2015 - I know I said I would not order this again, but I got another free coupon and could not resist. It was at least as bad if not worse. This time the beef was very chewy, although still pulverized. It still had very little flavor and apparently no seasoning is applied when they roast it. They rely on a heavy dose of Lawry's-like salt on your sandwich. I like salt and this is way too harsh. I was astonished at the drive through line the entire time I was there and the place was packed. I guess it is the same people who eat the other St Louis delicacy, provel. Listen, unpopular opinion but I don't happen to think Imos is the best food Stl has to offer. When my out of town friends ask me if they should try it, I always direct them to Lion's Choice instead. This is my first time visiting a Lion's Choice. It reminds me of two restaurants back home mixed together. Which are Arby's and Culver's. I made sure to order the provel cheese as it's a local cheese option. I have to say I'm a big fan of provel. The food was good for a fast food joint. Greasy fries. My family has been coming to this location for years and have always been met with good food, great service and friendly workers. Unfortunately this location has taken a dive in the last few months. The food quality has gone way down. Our fries today had been sitting out in their dine-in plates, which I can understand staging during a lunch or evening rush but we came during an off time. The employee that took our order was rude and messed up our order 3 times. There were 8 employees "working" but all they were concerned about was talking or surfing their phones. When my food was finally served it was wrong. When I tried to alert the employee standing 2 feet away from me behind the counter he ignored me because he was in a conversation with other employees. When he finally turned around he didn't even acknowledge me and when I told him that one of the sandwiches was supposed to be a meal. He grabbed a dish that was already plated and dumped the fries on my sandwich. He didn't say anything, just turned around and went back to his conversation. Sadly, this was our last time visiting this location. We'll drive down the road and go to the one on K that still has Lion's Choice company values. read more

This review is strictly for the Lion's Choice at this location on THF Blvd. I love love Lion's Choice and the one at Olive and 270 is always spot-on and consistent, but this one sucks. This location just doesn't meet standards. From always getting my order wrong (either forget to give me wheat bun, forget condiments, etc) to under and overcooked food, this location is a bad representation of the brand. The fries are always really undercooked compared to other locations and if you ask for the rarest meat, it's consistently dark brown and overcooked. If I want rubbery meat, I'll go to Arbys. I went to the Chesterfield Valley Lion's Choice for lunch on August 19, 2022 and I had the perfect roast beef meal, served at the perfect temperature. The sandwich was cooked to perfection, the bun was soft and warm, not soggy at all. The fries were perfectly cooked and hot. The restaurant was clean and all of the employees I had contact with were friendly, personable and working with intention, seeing to guests, clearing tables and willing to help with a smile and positive attitude. Food was delicious as always but visited twice over Christmas break this year and both times the place was FREEZING inside, despite the unseasonably warm temperatures this week. Like, no kidding, had to grab my half eaten meal and head to the car to finish as my teeth were chattering and my fingers like little icicles. They must have had the A/C cranked down in the 50s in this place at the end of December. It was our first time dining at this location. The sandwiches and fries were hot, fresh, and yummy. The restaurant was clean. However, their condiments area was missing most of the condiments. There were two sides, but only one side was set up. The second side had disassembled sauce containers and was otherwise empty. The BBQ sauce we typically choose was labeled on one of the disassembled containers. No pickles. No onions. No jalapeños. None of those condiments were available. Thank goodness chipotle ranch was available! Fries just aren't worth eating without first dipping into chipotle ranch. Hit the drive through and there I was engaged by one of the nicest people I've encountered in my frequent travels to KC (Hey Jane!) who was not just pleasant but fun, upbeat, and portrayed an amazing smile through the intercom system.
