We suspected it was an electrical issue related to construction workers on our property using power tools. We tried to troubleshoot the issue ourselves (using the wisdom of ChatGPT), but nothing worked. A friend recommended Lions, so we called and Shay came the same day. However, wouldn't you know it, the moment he arrived and turned on the thermostat, everything magically worked. That being said, Shay still took the time to thoroughly inspect the system and run some diagnostics to confirm everything looked okay. He told us he couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the issue. He was professional, straightforward, and honest throughout the appointment. He mentioned a few optional preventative maintenance recommendations for our older unit, but was clear that nothing was urgently needed. Of the various HVAC technicians we've worked with over the years (and the many needless upsells we've been offered), Shay came across as one of the most honest and professional techs we've seen. I am so sorry to have to write this--I actually totally love Lions and nearly everyone I have interacted with there. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessfully attempting for well over a month now to do the most minor thing--add my minisplit to my annual maintenance package. I've literally never had so much difficulty doing anything with a company that I can remember. I have spoken to multiple receptionists as well as a technician in person who promised he would call me that evening (weeks ago). I finally sort of lost my temper--which is pretty hard for me to do--last week and called again to ask for the fifth time for my mini split to be added to my annual maintenance package. The secretary said she was going to tell the owner to do it (which I heard at least once before) and when I asked her politely to please let him know that this was my fourth time asking, she got upset with me and gave me a mouthful about there being a heatwave and them having many more pressing tasks to do. I wanted to explain to her that I know it is not a big deal in the scheme of HVAC tasks or revenue generators, but that I have been trying to do this one stupid thing now for weeks...but she sounded so upset when I told her of my original frustration that I didn't bother to engage further. I kept calm and just asked when I could expect a call or email and she assured me (again) that it would be within a few days and she would (again) personally oversee him getting the message and calling me back.... I'm leaving this review for three reasons. 1. I literally have no other way of knowing how to add my minisplit to my annual maintenance plan, but hope this does it. 2. Lions installed my HVAC system and maintains it (very well), and it's under warranty, so it would cost me more to switch companies. 3. I am a small business owner myself, and as much as it pains me to leave a negative yelp! review for another small business, I also know that if my company were treating our repeat customers this badly, I would do everything in my power to ensure it never happened again because it's very bad for business. Sammy came out, and he quickly diagnosed a leak with our Freon. He helped fix it, and gave us some tips to keep our unit running smoothly. This time we called them to do a pre-summer check to make sure everything is working properly. Sammy came out again, and he was as great as the last time. Really happy with Lions and everyone there we've worked it. They installed a new system for us last year, and worked above and beyond to deal with ancient wiring in our building to connect to the thermostat. Had them back last week for a service call when the unit stopped working mysteriously. Couldn't find the problem at first because it turned out to be something here in the building, not a problem with the AC unit itself -- something we discovered when David called back a day later, just to say he had been thinking about the problem and "had an idea." Really appreciated that he kept thinking about it (said he didn't' want to leave us hanging) even though the issue was not technically his problem any more. What a team Leo has!!! Don't think twice about using Lions for any and all of your needs. I had a HVAC unit that wasn't working. Juan was sent to take a look and he spent many hours investigating the issue, contacting the manufacturer and his other associates for additional info on what may be causing this issue, and ended up finding out the problem without unnecessarily changing parts and charging for this problem. But their work didn't stop there. The vent cap needed to be replaced (which was on the roof of a 3 story complex) and Leo and his team worked tirelessly to amend the issue in a timely manner and ensure my unit wouldn't be damaged from upcoming to heavy rains. Bought a house 2 years ago and the HVAC heater quit. My handyman diagnosed the issue as broken capacitors but didn't have the time to run around and replace them. The previous owner never did basic maintenance on the 5 ton roof HVAC unit. Wanted to get my HVAC checked out prior to it getting cold. I was pleasantly surprised that they told the truth they didn't lowball and an inspection fee they charged $129 and a lot of other companies will charge $80 or $79 but then they try to upsell you with a bunch of stuff. Lions did not do this. They told me the truth my sister was in good shape it was blowing hot and they said I needed a new filter and they put the filter in and I was good to go and then I'll call him back out when summer comes and I need my AC checked out until then I'm totally satisfied.Juan was very professional, clean and very polite. He told the truth and I'll be happy to have him come out again. PS my dog liked him and my dog is a very good judge of character so he didn't try to bite him instead got excited and got a ball for him to play catch with him. These guys are AWESOME! We had another company come out for a heater tune up (we had no issues), telling us that our heater was unsafe to operate, and would take 4-6 weeks and $6-$30k to repair. We thought this was suspicious so had Lions come out for a 2nd opinion. They found the same issue but said that it was a minor one and assured us we were safe to keep using our heater, just need to be better about changing our filters.
